Simply the best vegetarian restaurant that I’ve been too. You could not tell that it was vegetarian. Everything tasted and looked amazing. Favourite dish was the lettuce cups filled with an Asian salad with sweet dressing. Their desserts really blew our minds. Overall amazing.

Yulli’s is always absolutely delicious. Have been several times over the years, and it never disappoints. Tasty, innovative food, full of flavour, and great drinks including Yulli’s beers, cocktails and mocktails. Also very reasonably priced for the food! Nice vibe inside or outside, where you can bring your dogs. Great for a group or couple, vegans and non vegans alike.

As a 7 day a week meat eater I cannot begin to explain just how good this place is. Prices great, drinks interesting and tasty and the food was simply sensational. Waitress Lally (excuse spelling if wrong) was just wonderful. Definitely a must for anyone in the area.

Great vegetarian dishes, so much flavour and the crunch is awesome in combination with all the dishes. I Love the zucchini flower and crumble dessert. My boy loves the pizza . Overall great find for vegetarian cuisine. Seats can be upgraded, a bit uncomfortable. The service was on point. Great food yum 🤤

Amazing food, lovely staff and a laid back relaxed atmosphere. I can see why it was fully booked on a Tuesday. My new favourite restaurant- if it wasn’t on the other side of the world. Would happily eat here every day.

Some of the best vegan/vegetarian food I’ve ever had. Despite not being vegan personally, my sister and my mum both are, and as a result I’ve eaten at a lot of vegan and vegetarian restaurants. Yulli’s is by far one of the most imaginative and well executed menus I’ve come across. We shared three starters, and 3 mains and they were all fresh, delicious and full of flavour. The money bags were genuinely the best money bags I’ve ever eaten, and the stuffed capsicums were one of the most flavoursome things I’ve ever tasted. The service was also excellent. Very friendly, polite and attentive; we even got plates and cutlery changed between courses, that that often get’s overlooked even at restaurants that marker themselves as being more high-end and charge a premium. On top of all of this, their beers are fantastic too.

Vibe and ambience of the place is vibrant. Well managed table booking system allows to schedule things in a timely manner, its certainly a popular restaurant evident from the fact that it's always crowded. Wait times are reasonable; portion size could be slightly better allowing the customers to order less number of dishes 😁. There is a variety of alcohol options ranging from beers to wine. The menu is inspired from the fusion of asian cuisines with a vegan touch to it; worth trying.

Not bad. Was quite a nice little restaurant. We booked for a relatively large group so we got the semi-private area beside the bathrooms. The staff were super friendly and had really good service skills! The place itself had a good vibe - was a little bit retro and alternative. Definitely more catered to a younger demographic. They have unique beers on tap, and their own Yulli’s drinks. Overall, I really liked the atmosphere - it was chill and welcoming. In terms of the food, it was definitely different and unique. We had a few different variations of food. The moneybags were interesting as they had the sweet coconut flavour. I think it was okay, but some people didn’t enjoy the twist from the traditional taste. The zucchini flowers were really nice- you can’t go wrong! The other dishes were also quite nice, like the cauliflower pasta dish, and the eggplant and the mushrooms! Overall, there was a good balance of flavours and textures. Each dish was unique and you didn’t know what to expect. Only thing that was a bit of a let down was that they didn’t let us eat our own cake here, unless it were vegan! What can you do 🤷‍♀️

A wonderful restaurant with seriously good food and on-site brewed beer with a quality wine list. We ordered the banquet which consisted of 4 courses. The entree for 2 (pictured) was excellent, as were all the dishes up until and including the deserts. Friendly and attentive service in a modern thoughtfully decorated space. We will definitely make the trip to Yulli's again.

Vegan restaurant? Yes, vegan restaurant and was very good! Yulli's banquet gives you a range of dishes that exceed my expectations. I've been to vegan restaurants that they tried to replicate non vegan dishes. But what Yulli's offers are a range of dishes that are well thought and don't try to recreate anything. It take the ingredients and elevate them on a very good way. On the banquet we had the money bags, that dish was very good but the choice of the sweet chilli as sauce didn't balance well with the coconut and edemame. Following that the broccolini with Korean sauce was amazing. And the dumplings were very yum. Following that the mushrooms peanut bite was well balanced followed with crispy tofu and papaya salad. The papaya salad was great and the tofu gives a balance on the textures of the dish. The second mains were ok, the salad with sesame dressing was the winner. The mushroom with tomato sauce was ok nothing special and the worst dish was the smoked eggplant. Pretty blend flavour with nothing special to it. The desserts were good. If you want a authentic vegan restaurant I recommend.

Food is beautifully presented and very taste. The menu is a delight to readand makes it difficult to choose. Sunday lunch time wasnt extremely busy. Probably safe to book thpugh. On street tables and also a small court yard. No parking its surry hills. The aesthetics are a bit underwhelming and the acoustics make for a strained conversion , a bit tiresome, I would recommend Yullis the food is great.

One of the best plant based / vegan spots in the city. Great quality, always consistent (been coming for 5+ years) Good idea to book ahead given it usually fills up, even on most weeknights While some items change with the seasons, the must gets are the Korean broccolini (mind bending good) and cashew moneybags Staff are always attentive and great!

It's our fourth time and we are a little bit disappointed. We decided to order the banquet menu and, although the food was pretty good as always, we believe the options chosen aren't their best dishes. We spent more than 2h on a Sunday lunch, waiting up to 20' between courses. The staff was friendly but slow. The bathrooms need to be cleaned more often and the backyard benches, the short tables and the slope aren't really comfortable for a long feast. We would recommend to eat indoors.

Delicious vegetarian place, every single dish was tasty, well prepared with delicate flavors. So delicious that you don’t miss meat at all. The zucchini flowers were crunchy outside and full of flavor inside, the pita pocket had a good mix of flavors and the dumplings had a beautiful companion sauce. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, they went through all the menu and explain it with a nice attitude. It’s very busy so I would recommend to make a booking before to show up. Definitely I would go back soon. Thank you guys !

There was once a time where I could count on Yullis to really deliver the goods. I'm not sure if it's because they keep expanding and made the OG venue more high brow. But it's lost the plot. What was great about old Yullis is wonderful vegan modern Asian that had generous portions for a pretty penny but it was worth it. What we got today was a third of what it was for a third more of what it cost. The food really hasn't made up for the deficit either. The tofu we got was the under seasoned tofu bogans kept making fun of in the 90s. And the accompanying salad was just sour, they didn't even try to balance it out. The taro whatever it was, was just ordinary. The semi odd tasting taro base was topped with boring corn kernels. The eggplant was the only saving grace. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned and dressed with some green sauce. Like a sober designated driver, it helped its accompanying rubbish buddies back home safely. FK me. Take a look at yourselves.

We arrived at Yulli's early in the evening for a dinner. That was a smart move on our end as all the tables were reserved for later on in the evening (not sure if that's usually like this). We ordered 3 dishes and they were really good! My favorite one was the dish with the fried cauliflower. The asparagus pizza was good, but not my favorite. If you're planning to sit down here make sure to make reservations or at least come in early. Definitely a must for any vegetarian or food lover.

Best food I’ve had in Sydney! We had the course menu and it was an assortment of dishes all super tasty and interesting. From start to finish is an amazing culinary experience. Just one little constructive feedback though: the seating arrangement was the worst I’ve had in a restaurant. Extremely uncomfortable seats and because the table are mad of wooden crates you can’t extend your legs at all which, for taller people, get very uncomfortable very quick. I’ll still rate it 5 star because I was blown away with the food. But definitely needs new tables and chairs 🙂

Watched as an amaretto sour was made and the waitress/bartender held the wooden stick in her mouth then put cherry on it and placed it in the glass and passed on to the guest. COVID. Rude staff even with reservation and waited a while for anyone to take drink/food order, return for plates as tables are tiny and finally the bill. The food was mediocre at best and watching the drink be made was the worst.

Pretty frustrating that the website advises to call to make a booking on the day, but upon calling the lady said “go to the website and send an email to the address on the website”. After sending an email I received no reply but decided to still go to the restaurant as I had tried to book twice now and was hoping they received the booking information and just didn’t reply. Got there and they had no record of my booking so we got turned away. Should be sorted out as you’re losing customers over this unprofessionalism!

The first but definitely not the last time to visit. Perfect for a mid week date night. Service was fabulous and each dish was delicious. Any place that has zucchini flowers on the menu is always a winner in my eyes. My partner doesn’t like me taking food photos so here is a stock shot!

Last week we came here for dinner for their banquet menu (sample menu). It exceeded our expectations. All of the dishes were very tasty, some courses had surprisingly great flavor combinations and a lot of dynamic taste going on. Some dishes also had especially good presentation. A week later I had a take-away just to get the Kanafe dessert dish because the ingredients looked interesting. When I opened the box, it looked amazing: it had a surprisingly great presentation for take-away food. And of course it was simply delicious. For the price of 44pp for a vegan set menu (4 courses, but each course basically having two to three small/medium stand-alone dishes of high level flavor) this is a place in Sydney I would HIGHLY recommend everyone to go to for an excellent dinner. I am definitely coming back with more people for their banquet menu.

It was ok. Was kind of hoping that the portions were bigger. Had this for birthday dinner for seven very hungry people. Best dishes, persimmon and plum cake, zucchini flowers, mushroom pizza. The rest were not that 'great', worst dishes cauliflower pappardelle and roast capsicum and baked zucchini. Don't forget to bring cash on Sundays because of the surcharge! Bathroom was so dirty, the waitress dimmed the lights halfway through dinner and we couldn't really enjoy our food in the dark. Needs better attention to chairs and seating arrangements for larger groups.

Simply Amazing food!! Not only are these delicious and gorgeous, they are also completely vegan! We were delighted to find this restaurant on our first evening in town. We shared the cauliflower pappardelle, baked zucchini, and san Chou bow. And rounded our meal with fantastic desserts!! Chocolate lava cake and sticky date pudding. Feeling so very spoiled!! Can’t wait to return!!

Exceptional food, very punchy & interesting flavours with some of the best cocktails I've had in ages. The Jalapeno beer was fab too, great jalapeno flavour without too much heat. Wait staff were amazing, portion sizes were good, & the desserts were A+ (A lot of vegan restaurants unfortunately struggle with the desserts, but these were truly delicious) Will definitely be back.

Tried Yulli's for the first time and it was amazing! I ordered all the medium plates on the menu and each dish was so light, fresh and yummy! The absolute favourite was the plum crumble with the coconut icecream - i will definitely be returning for this one ❤️ Loved the vibe and the food!

  • 5/5 Allan W. 5 years ago on Google
You can not fault the incredible food served up by Yulli's. Top notch vegetarian and vegan food without being pretensious. Tonight I had the zucchini flowers which busted with beetroot colour and flavour. Followed by the sticky date pudding, a great I haven't had in years since going vegan and thoroughly enjoyed. As well as amazing food they also have a nice back garden feel out the rear and a bar serving up cocktails, fine wines, beers, ciders and spirits. I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic night out our first date.

We went there last night for the first time. There was only one special menu of $70pp for the Valentine’s day, the food were all delicious. By the way all the dishes came in one plate for sharing for two people, beautiful decorations but they weren’t really made for shareing. It wasn’t easy to share something with a lot of sauce and crumbles, and even the desert was just “one”. Sharing, why not, maybe it was a concept for the Valentine’s day, but it could be much better in different way. We found $140 was too expensive for what it was...it was a pity, because the food were tasty. (I forgot to take a photo of one plate which was roasted baby vegetables with a sauce...)

Delicious food and a decent selection divided by plate sizes which was helpful. The guy that served us initially seemed rather grumpy but the servers that eventually took over was warm and super friendly. A little on the high side for the prices as well.

Food was good but the service not so much. When we arrived they didn't have the booking and then when we managed to sit down it took sooooo long to get any attention that we left without ordering dessert or more drinks. Not a nice feeling to be ignored. Such a shame!

Food is good, but service isn't. We arrived around 530 for our booking, we were greeted at the door and everything went downhill from there... Firstly, the table was next to the toilets, not the best spot, specially because the restaurant was nearly empty but I understood given the current circumstances and proceeded to the table... none of the specials were mentioned, no sparkling or still water to begin... we ordered and began eating.. my husband finished his beer and wanted another drink .. no waiters around or anybody "checking" the table... we finished our water bottle and again, nobody around or anyone checking.. by the end of the meal we asked for some more water, it came 10min later as we were ready to leave... anyways.. we are not fuzzy people, but little more attention to tables would have been nice, specially since the restaurant is at half capacity.. food is good, but i wont come back because of the service..

I dined for the first time at your restaurant last night for a friends’s birthday based on recommendations. As a small business owner I didn't want to write a Google review, and thought it better to speak straight to the source about my concerns. I sent an email to the venue, and received a feeble response from someone named Alice. ... I booked for 5 people with almost a weeks notice, although upon arrival it was evident that we were positioned on a table for 4, with the 5th setting squashed on one side of the bench, proving to be very uncomfortable. We asked for an extra seat at the head of the table to spread us out, and were given an uncomfortable step stool which made my friend’s back ache. We did eventually receive a proper chair, but after asking numerous times. We were also seated right at the back of the restaurant, near the toilets. I understand that it was busy last night, but I honestly don’t think having any of your patrons sit in that section of the restaurant is acceptable. We were ignored for most of the night, only receiving service when the waitress walked to serve the table next to us. Otherwise nobody came to specifically serve us. Also, the condition of the toilets were disgusting to say the least, and should be better maintained for a pricey restaurant. There was urine all over the floor and the toilet seats, and toward the end of the night the repelling stench seeped through the bathroom and into our area of the restaurant. Again, this is unacceptable for McDonalds, let alone Yulli’s. During the course of the night I had asked the waitress for an “old fashioned” from the bar. She had no idea what I was talking about but advised me she would ask the bartender, to which I told her if they didn’t have the ingredients to make it I would be happy with a glass of Shiraz. 20 minutes later (an unacceptable time frame to receive a drink), I received a Negroni, which I succumbed to as it was too hard to get her attention to rectify. I then ordered another one, which I had to ask for several times as it took up to 30 minutes to receive. When I went to pay the bill, I saw on the screen that I was charged for 2 Negronis AND 2 OLD FASHIONS! Again, this is unacceptable. I received no feedback from the waitress, which I specifically asked for and no drink, yet was charged for two of them. The one star i mentioned was for the good food - but really everything else leaves a horrible taste in your mouth.

Eternally one of my favourite restaurants in the city, and the beers they brew are all awesome ?

  • 4/5 Stephanie R. 3 years ago on Google
Good food. Slow service. The food was really awesome for an all vegan restaurant and the beers were delicious. Great options and menu! The only thing is service was VERY slow and we would have to call people over anytime we needed anything. We were seated right in the back of the restaurant and no one seemed to venture down that way to take food or drinks orders, so we would have to wait till a table nearby received service and then call someone over to attend to us too. Otherwise a good night!

As a long time vegetarian (26 years and counting) and a healthy eater, although the food is tasty here, a lot of them are fried food. Such as zucchini tempura, deep fried money bag, and fried puff samosa. After eating there twice, I don't think I would go as often. To impress meat eaters, sure. Occasional celebration, maybe. It is a cosy and very popular place in the heart of Surry Hills, so expect to wait book ahead to avoid disappointment even on Sunday. Staff is ok, but as it is small and busy, they aren't as attentive.

Paid $16.9 for 5 dumplings that were incredibly small, filled with only cabbage and tasted like grass. My friend ordered tofu from the 'big plate' menu and yet her dish was just as small as mine. Food was below average. Prices were way too expensive for what you get. Service was not friendly. Would not go back. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE DONT GO VEGAN. Prices are too expensive and it doesn't even taste good. Paying $17 for cabbage you've got to be kidding.

My partner and I consistently enjoy the food here. The establishment has a nice vibe and is laid back. The dumplings and Korean fried broccoli are our favourites. You can order small, medium or large plates of food, which are best shared. The price is reasonable for the portion size, and very tasty.

Enjoyed the creative dishes :) Loved the dedicated gluten free menu. However could I recommend it be extended. If the selection of dishes that contain traces of gluten could be improved to be 100% gluten free. Upon enquiry it seemed you only need to switch the oil used. By making this change you would have a rather extensive gluten free menu vs current. Then I could return alot more often!!

I’m gluten free and I loved that they had a gluten free menu and a coeliac menu as well. We had the eggplant involtini and the crispy tofu both dishes were delicious. I look forward to visiting again.

Service was quick and friendly. A tad expensive for what you get in serving size but very nice food. Will likely come back to try other menu options.

Uno de los mejores restaurantes de comida vegetariana en Sydney. Todo su menú es delicioso y el servicio es muy bueno también.

Decent vegan restaurant. Food was amazing but the service was somehow really slow taking into consideration that they didn’t have many customers there. Took us more than 15 mins for cocktails and they constantly missed the orders, either took our order to other tables or gave us other table’s order. Not a big deal, but was not sure how could they mistaken orders even when they only had to serve 3 tables

Great food and atmosphere for vegans or non vegans. The cauliflower dish, leek dumplings and BBQ mushrooms were all very tasty.

My first time at this restaurant after being recommended by a friend and wow! Will definitely not be my only visit. The atmosphere was sensational with the mood lighting and friendly buzz. The food was delicious (the broccolini is a must). My friend and I indulged in the banquet menu and it is both affordable and luxurious giving you an opportunity to taste it all! A special shoutout to the cute waiter with the glasses and his fabulous wine pairings and recommendations. My friend and I couldn’t have had a better night. I recommend yulli’s for a date night, casual hang or drinks with friends. Thanks for having us :)

I am gluten free and I like they have a gluten free menu and a celiac menu. There are so many gluten-free people these days so it's great to see more restaurants working on more menus

Yullis is a culinary gem. A must try for anyone wanting to experience the wholesomeness of vegetarian food. Tasty concotions exist on the menu and the staff are prompt and friendly. I have made it my mission to try everything there is to offer. Great atmosphere inside and ample seating. Parking nearby or outside is possible. We will surely return.

First time here, can’t wait to return! So delicious!!! Thanks to the waiter for choosing our dishes! 👍🏻

  • 5/5 Sumara M. 3 years ago on Google
The eggplant involtini was absolutely delicious - amazing house-made vegan mozzarella - but be careful, it was much spicier than I expected! 😂 Partner had the potato skins, which was also delicious although the "large" plate was not exactly large. Service and cleanliness was impeccable. Not a fan of the slightly unstable tables with very little leg room, but hey it's good for social distancing! This was a real feel-good dinner.

this is an amazing find for dinner for anybody vegan or not! the service was great and we were sat outside, which was a nice option to have during COVID times. ordered two medium plates & one large, the crispy tofu, cauliflower pappardelle, and korean broccilini. all dishes were delicate in their flavour and left us wanting to return here asap. prices are also quite reasonable given the food and service provided!

Always a pleasure. We've been eating here for years. The food is super tasty, well presented and great value for money. The staff are relaxed and friendly. Special mention for the strict adherence to COVID protocols and hygiene standards shown on our last visit. It won't be long before we are back.

Came here with a friend and shared a few plates. The food is definitely delicious and worth a try. I recommend the roasted capsicum and Korean fried broccolini. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating with toilets at the back. There's also a bar for drinks.

We had a nice dinner at Yullis. We had the tasting menu and it’s was very filling and fresh. We opted against the dessert in the tasting menu and picked our own because we wanted other options. It’s was all pretty delicious.

  • 4/5 daniela k. 1 year ago on Google
I liked. Recommend the mushrooms, capsicum and the chocolate dessert. I tried all the menu because we where many friends and we share everything. I’ll say go for the set menu $44 is a really good price. I don’t give 5 stars because I find the dishes not excelente but nice enough to try

I've been meaning to try this vegan place out for agessss. Super cute and cosy. Service was great! We tried almost everything on the menu and let's just say between 6 people and $300 later, we all got a kebab afterwards. The food is beautifully presented and the flavour is great. Vietnamese inspired dishes, however, portions were small for its price and the fact that they didn't serve any carbs (rice or noodles) with their dishes, it left a lot of room to want some more food. A nice spot for a night out with a date I reckon but not for an affordable and satisfyingly full meal 😅

First time here, for high school reunion lunch. It was much better than I had expected. We order the tasting banquet, totally worth the value. The food was so delicious food and good serving sizes. Friendly service, great atmosphere, nice relax lunch. Booking highly recommend especially the weekends. Simply the best vegan I have tasted so far, creative and tasty! Will be back for more! Oh yeah the Mocktail Blood Orange, Lime & Yuzu was good n refreshing.

Very creative menu and banquet is great value! Enjoyed all the food we had, big beer menu and excellent coffee. Main letdown is the service - hard to get a hold of waiters and took a while to get our order.

  • 5/5 Raf K. 1 year ago on Google
Yuli is without doubt best vegan restaurant in Sydney! Everything is delicious, carefully prepared and well presented. True art and experience for all your senses. Atmosphere is pretty chilled and casual in the heart of hippie Surrey Hills. It’s hard to recommend a single dish as all are must try, but if I had to chose one I’d probably recommend money bags to start and roasted capsicum. You can’t leave without delicious dessert like crumble or lava cake.

Haven't been here in more than 10 years and it's nice to see it's been renovated and a lot more comfortable now. Service was friendly and good was also much improved - recommend the Korean fried broccolini, zucchini flowers, and the pappardelle was also quite tasty. I wasn't a fan of the lava cake (plus paid extra for the coconut ice cream)

  • 4/5 Hayley L. 1 year ago on Google
I’m not familiar with vegan food so it was quite eye opening for me. We got the banquet to sample eveything. Price is very affordable, i was sayisfied after the whole meal. I liked the broccolino, the papaya sald and the bbq mushrooms the most. The beers were also suprisingly good!

Incredibly fresh food packed full of flavour. I promise you…the fried broccoli will be the best thing you eat all year!! Great service from the whole team, who had us laughing most of the time.

  • 5/5 Lisa V. 1 year ago on Google
We loved everything we ordered - fried broccoli, money baskets, wraps with tofu (forgot what they were called) and afogatto with coconut ice cream for dessert. Great service , wonderful prices, innovative menu and great taste. Highly recommend!

It's probably one of the best vegan restaurants I have been to in Sydney. The Asian fusion banquet menu was exquisite and toally worth the price. Highly recommand this place.

Great vegan restaurant. Thr banquet is tasty and can try many different things in small portions, great to discover. Love the Oyster mushroom.

The food was very good and we really enjoyed our stay. A pity that not all chairs have a backrest, which is very uncomfortable when you sit longer. The toilet are in no good shape! And should be cleaned regularly and renewed.

YOU GOTTA TRY THIS PLACE! We started with the San Choy Bow (recommended by our server) and we’re surprised! Great mix in texture and the flavors were incredible. She said that it would leave an impression on you and she wasn’t wrong. The second dish was Baked Zucchini with Tom Yum sauce. I thought that it would be tough to top the first course but after one bite, I forgot about the first dish. Just the right amount of heat to leave you wanting more. The sauce was so flavorful I had to lick the spoon before it went back! Creamed Cauliflower PapperdelleI was our last dish. Slight smoky flavor with a touch of heat from the chili oil. I honestly can’t decide which dish was my favorite. Chocolate Lava Cake to finish the night. Whether your vegan, vegetarian, or a meat eater, you have to try this place.

It's so good, just like what you read in the reviews! I ordered steamed dumplings, cream cauli pappardelle, and sticky date pudding. My favourite was sticky date pudding!

Yullis is the best! I have been a couple of times and still enjoy coming back. I absolutely love the zucchini flowers, san choy bow and Korean fried brocollini. The gluten free menu is huge! The drinks menu is really good as well. The service was super friendly and efficient.

I went on Jazz night(Monday) for special occasion. As a meat lover, my expectation was low but Yullis banquet was surprisingly full filling and not missing out anything. Just perfect. Dishes are tastefully unique not like unpleasantly weird where I have been in Surry hills for fine dining. Plus, dinner with live Jazz made my day. Staff are efficient and friendly and cost are reasonable.
