I was in a rush to get to the RPA and this was this was the first cafe I past from the station. I was in need of a caffeine hit so I decided to stop by without looking at Google review. It's a pretty nice looking cafe that likes the use of wood in their design. They have a few tables outside by the road and plenty inside. There is a door leading to the outside area at the back which presume leads to the toilet. I love the glass display at the front of the food and sweets. It's very tempting and nice looking. I came around 10.45am on a Friday and it was surprisingly pretty quiet for a rush hour kind of time. I was able to order as soon as I arrived. I can imagine the hospital workers would frequent this cafe often as it's pretty decent and probably one of the closest. I went with the flat white to Takeaway unfortunately as I didn't have time to stick around. I would had preferred to sit down. The coffee is pretty good for a Takeaway coffee. It was very smooth tasting, without the bitterness. It served it purpose for Takeaway. As you can tell I'm not a fan of takeaway coffees as I love the experience of drinking a mug coffee with the coffee art that doesn't disintegrate until towards the end for good baristas. I came for a second time around 12pm on a Thursday to try what the coffee is like as it's always different but better than the take away experience. The large latte came out nicely presented with a leaf art that was a little smudged. The taste was really good though, very smooth and silky taste. The latte degradation test was passed with flying colours, with the foam and art surviving until the final sip. This is a 5/5 effort as it shows the skills of the barista. Overall, I would say that it's the best cafe in Newtown and I don't make these declarations lightly as I try all the top rated coffees in a suburb before doing this. I have found that other cafes haven't got close to Cafe Felix in terms of quality of coffee brew. It's definitely worth trying out.

So, I've been twice now and both times the coffee tasted pretty good. But the Sunday morning shamozzle (prolly two zeds) that greeted me this morning was both disappointing and hilarious. Coffees lost, orders sent to wrong tables, extra wait times and great confusion. One star off! A busy cafe off King Street that draws a good sized crowd, both from the Newtown hipster set and the unwell plus their carers (I have been at one point or other in my life a part of all three subsets ☺️). Discount offered to Ambos, nurses, students which is a nice touch. Neat, welcoming - staff are friendly and attentive if perhaps lacking in odd senses of humour. Is tragic the walls are lined with individual patrons seated at tables for two, keeping to themselves or playing on their laptops and not talking to each other. Wifi is just that good and has a lot to answer for. So, the coffee was pretty good, rates better than the milky soup I get in other...ahem.... parts of Sydney. The courtyard out the back is pretty quiet, and the umbrellas provide pretty good shade from a reasonability of rain. Good place to come and have a chat with good friends.

Nice and spacious cafe with a small outdoor seating area. This cafe is just off the main strip in Newtown (King Street). The coffee was decent although a bit on the light side for my taste. The French Toast that I ordered was a great and the portion size was good. I loved the airy and open feel of the cafe and the fact that its off the main strip meant that it was not over crowded. I had a pleasant time having my coffee and reading the morning paper.

Great little cafe tucked away behind the main (King) street of Newtown. We had a warm chicken salad with lentils and pesto and a chicken sandwich which were both tasty and fresh; the sweet potato fries were crispy and yummy; we also had a chocolate milkshake which was nice. We would definitely visit again!

Probably a good thing they are closing I don't usually tend to write negative reviews, but I was thoroughly disappointed by this cafe, especially compared to others in Newtown The "pancakes" for $18 was instead a singular, burnt piece of fried, mushed up banana, with a scoop of ice cream and a couple sour blueberries. Couldn't finish Other items were alright, but for the price you're better off going somewhere such as cafe martini down the road.

I ordered the simplest things on the menu expecting to get it fast. A cheese and ham croissant and a sausage and egg on bread. It took 45 minutes. The waiter even asked me if I had received my food when he was the one who took my order and was waiting the table. It wasn’t until 40 minutes had passed that he took the croissant off the counter to toast it. Slow and chaotic service for the most basic menu items. If I’d have known it was so bad I would have gone to the supermarket and toasted a croissant myself. Very unimpressed by Newtown standards.

I ordered the ice almond matcha latte and a veggie wrap. They gave me normal milk instead but I didn’t make a big fuss about it since I’m not lactose intolerant. However, it just taste like water down milk without any matcha taste. BaFor the veggie wrap, I am not sure if it’s normal to have that much oily sauce coming out of the wrap when I am eating it. I think the juice comes from the pesto sauce but it’s too oily 🤢 as you can see, when I finished my whole plate, that was the amount of juice in the plate. The taste of the wrap itself was okay I guess, like a normal veggie wrap.

Friendly staff. Good coffee. The Big Breakfast was tasty and massive. I would have preferred it on a plate instead of a board but interesting presentation seems to be the thing now. Will be going back.

Our coffees ended up at a different table, same for our food while the place was pretty empty. The barcode was also still present on the slice of lemon that came with the food. Those are things that can be easily improved and would make the experience much better!

Ordered my food at 10.20am and did not receive it till 55mins later. We ordered 2x big breakfasts, French toast & fruit salad with yoghurt. It is Easter Sunday and apparently they are busy with majority of the tables empty. Poor service, wait staff was not even apologetic for the ridiculous wait time. Please do not waste your time or money. Appalling service.

I came here for Portuguese egg tarts (from Tugas in Clovelly), and also tried the zucchini fritters and was pretty pleased. The atmosphere is pretty cool, relaxed and local. You could easily chill there for a bit, rare for Newtown :-)

Their staff is so cute and friendly. And their cherry danish pastry is to dieeee for (go early because it sells out pretty fast). We also tried the sultan omelette which is something really unique compared to a traditional egg/toast breakfast. The only issue is the long wait time so I wouldn’t suggest going there if you’re in a rush.

Tring to find a good coffee early on a Sunday Morning around Sydney Uni is not an easy task, well not any more since I found Cafe Felix Sydney here in Newtown. The coffee is great, staff friendly so what more do you want....

I have been here three times now and the staff have really tried to make sure I was comfortable each time. It has a really nice garden area out the back and feels like a little oasis in busy Newtown.

Chaos. Picked up an order, it was left on the side congealing while I was left waiting for an eternity. Useless Barista #1 totally forgot I was there (despite being stood directly in front of her) while Useless Baristas #2 & #3 stood looking bewildered at the till screen. Would 100% recommend if you're into waiting around and cold food.

Looks bigger on the inside. Beautiful decor and hanging pots give the place a fresh atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent and quick and the coffee was good too. Would recommend for a quick breakfast or a catch up with friends.

👍 Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
