Valentina’s is certainly popular with Marrickville hipsters. The lure of this diner-style space seems to be the homely Southern American menu items. I chose the Tina Classic ($22) mostly to eat cat head biscuits (so named because they are bigger than a cat’s head). They’re teamed on the plate with scrambled eggs, thin rashers of bacon cooked quite dark in the American way, and roast spuds dusted liberally in Old Bay seasoning. The biscuit was a disappointment. It’s dry to the point of crumbling to dust when you try to break it up and transfer it to your mouth. There just aren’t enough moist scrambled eggs to pull this plate together in a way that avoids desert mouth. Even necking my cappuccino ($4) doesn’t whet my whistle enough to compensate. The coffee by the way is smooth and well-balanced. Perhaps this would be improved by sausage gravy (the other way you can eat biscuits on the menu)? I can’t tell, and based on this initial meal I can’t say I’ll be hurrying back to find out.

$25 for a coffee and an egg and bacon roll the size of something you'd expect at McDonald's. At the time of writing this Woolworths are selling 12 eggs for $4.80, a kilo of bacon is $15, English muffins are $2.90 a 4 pack and a kilo block of cheese is $7.70. I'd have to assume the staff working here are on roughly $225 an hour and that is what is driving the cost up.

The cafe is located on a quiet street, no other food options nearby, maybe that's why it was busy. We went for brunch on a public holiday, and got surcharged immensely, understandable. But quality and portion sizes don't do justice to the prices. We ended up paying $92 Ate: Breakfast Burrito $38 (attached photos) Egg sandwich almost $30 Coffee and drinks for almost $11 each. Average price for an iced coffee is $9 (excl tax). Overall, I would NOT recommend it considering Marrickville has tonnes of options present. I wish service was good but they, 'lost' our coffee orders and took their time in serving, etc. Seen better standards. Good luck 🤞🏽

Amazing food and outstanding staff. Ordered the breakfast muffin and mistakenly ordered the beef thinking it was a meat patty no roast beef. Staff so kindly replaced the whole order for a new muffins with the sausage (what we thought it was beef patty). Seriously excellent team, great service, super delicious food.

Had been wanting to go to Valentinas for a while and it's better than the pictures. Not much of a wait time to get a table for lunch, dinner havent had a problem and it is well worth it. The bottomless coffee was great and all the food was exceptional. Have been several times now, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Can't rave enough to my friends about the whole experience. Will be continue returning.

Long wait for a table and another long wait for food. You have to get up to order at the counter and pick up your own cutlery which for the price you pay you'd expect a little table service! The biscuits and gravy we shared were very tasty but half my bacon was being to black. Don't get me wrong, I love crispy bacon, but it was charcoal to the centre. Still curious to try their fried chicken but I'm not rushing back and definitely wouldn't go on the weekend.

Tina’s omelette was delicious and the scrambled eggs are quite tasty. They make great coffee and I love the interior design of the place. But if I were to go back, I’d go just for the onion strings. Skip the banana cream pie, expensive for what it is. Is it worth the long wait? I wouldn’t say so but worth at least one visit to try and satisfy the curiosity behind the relatively new player in the inner west breakfast scene.

DECOR: soft, muted decor. Was enjoyable to have the option to sit at the bar and watch the cooks prepare the food right in front of you. American diner vibes but make it up class! FOOD: We ordered the Tina Special, it was delicious! Pancakes were fluffy and sweet, bacon was crispy, sausage was spicy. Lovely, but definitely overpriced for what it is. SERVICE: Very friendly gentleman named Oliver set the table like it was fine dining. Meticulously cleaned, wiped the table, vacuumed and even polished the mirror behind before we sat down. Definitely best service I have ever come across!

It seems to always be busy here, we waited for around 30 minutes to be seated on a Sunday lunch time, luckily we weren’t hungry and the waiting list was a good system. Food was good! It was a focused menu, which is good in terms of making a decision :) The sausage and egg muffin was rich and delicious, the breakfast burrito was also filling, tortilla soft and chewy. Coffee was also decent. Service was prompt and friendly.

At Velentinas it’s all about the good diner vibes. It’s a modern take on the classic USA diner servicing an all day breakfast. The pancakes are for sure the standout on the menu, fluffy and light and just yum! The southern fried chicken sandwich and the bacon and egg English muffin are also good options. We arrived for lunch on a Friday and there was no wait.

Valentina's is a cool spot with an awesome American diner vibe. Staff were super friendly, and the decor is on point. Food is simple but tasty and well executed, though it can be a bit pricey for what you get. Coffee was velvety, smooth but wished it was hotter. Overall, a solid/ safe place to grab a meal.

This Sydney cafe left an indelible mark on us with its extraordinary blend of flavors and captivating atmosphere. Our taste buds were in awe of the scrumptious pancakes, sausage x cheese x egg muffin, and onion strings. The delightful aromas of their chai and filtered coffee added a touch of perfection. Moreover, the amiable staff members contributed to the overall greatness of our experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were enveloped in a wonderful ambiance that elevated our dining pleasure. This cafe is undoubtedly a gem worth savoring.

Hands down the best breakfast muffin in Sydney. Awesome fennel and spice flavour. Other highlights are the mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Great fit out and ambience. Wait times can get long so come early

Relaxing American style diner away from the main strip of Marrickville (so plenty of parking!). The restaurant has a relaxed vibe and well decorated interior; reminded us of diners in Pasadena. We had the Fried Fish, Roast Beef Burger and Loaded Fries - all very nice and filling! We had to order some of the famous donuts on way out too!

Amazing new cafe in Marrickville.. they’ve done the American diner experience so elegantly and beautiful. I absolutely loved the interior and branding, it’s so inner west! The food was also great we had the sausage/egg/cheese muffin sandwich and the omelette. Great flavours oozing from the sausage and the omelette had a beautiful salsa which complemented the egg/sausage combo amazingly. Coffee was also perfect - no complaints!

Foood was really good! Even the coffee. But it takes forever for the food to arrive. It seems they are understaffed in the kitchen? I'm not sure. The servers were friendly, but they didn't give water refills. Note that it's also a tight space, so if you're dining with overzealous customers, it's like their screaming right next to you. Would still come back, but try to request a table outside and bring my own water bottle 😅

Taste - 4/5 Value - 4/5 Had the sausage and egg sandwich which was super flavourful and I would recommend. Onion strings was quite unique, but I personally didn't like them as they were too salty (and I would've preferred something with less batter ratio, like onion rings). Pancakes, bacon and eggs tastes as you expect the food to taste like, nothing to complain about. This place usually has a long line, so expect to wait.

Great spot, very popular but didn’t have to wait very long for 2 to be seated. Would definitely recommend trying the White Gravy condiments to be eaten with fries/onion strings/bacon/sausage. Huervos Rancheros was spicy and very filling.

Ordered Tina's Classic plate and biscuits with whipped cream and jam. Their pancakes are fluffy and fresh, best paired with hot coffee. The plate itself is enough to fill you up. Otherwise, you won't finish the biscuit even if you're sharing. The biscuit was nice too sad that we got full we only had half of it. Would like to comeback for more pancakes and try their lunch menu. The diner has very nice aesthetic, friendly staff and good service. Oh! They also have grumpy donuts in-store! A big plus! ♥️

I went here for brunch last Monday and there was a lot of people there ~ pretty impressive for a Monday morning even though they only have a small space, so of course I had pretty high expectations. The service was good but there were a few minor mistakes that occurred, for example the barista sent us the wrong drinks ~ it was actually an order from the table next to us. Also the waitress put the cutleries on our table, then she took it back and put it on the table next to us. We waited for the food until we both finished our drinks. For me, it was understandable ~ they were busy and the kitchen is small. I ordered Tinas with pancake, the bacon was overcooked. The chicken sandwich was alright. Coffee was good. However, it was a beautiful place, we loved the vibes and interior. So we may give it another try next time.

Vegan curious insider tests vegan sammich at pricey diner. That's as Sydney as a Danish Opera House. First, the coffee was coffee snob decent. Your regular fave isn't at risk, but you'll be happy with what you get. The vegan sammich is almost there....there being 5*. The notsausage is really good, though a bit fall aparty. Two things need to join the dj to start the 5*danceathon. First, vegan cheese is resilient to traditional melting techniques (usually putting atop the just flipped sausage patty). Here, it sits up with all the resistance of a freedom fighter. It needs the salamander, with blow torch intensity...that yellow slice of slab gotta melt. Second, the moisture is fine for what's there, but the sauce needs to make its place felt. I think something was there, but a waft don't cut it. I'd suggest harissa would take this to heaven, especially with it matching the excellent scents within the notsausage. Gotta say I wasn't a fan of the plates coming out of the kitchen, but I'll leave that to those who ate them. $25.72 for vegan thingy and coffee

🫤 As someone from the South (southeast USA) I can say this is not Nashville hot chicken, but a somewhat decent attempt. The chicken itself isn’t seasoned, all the seasoning is on the breading. The chicken was pretty greasy which made it hard to eat. If I didn’t know what hot chicken was supposed to ta...
