Have
seen
this
place
go
thru
many
changes
over
the
decades,
including
the
Raindrop
Fountain;
watching
performances
in
the
centre
open
space
(no
longer
open)
from
any
floor
as
we
leant
over
the
glass
balcony;
to
the
cinema
that
we
went
to
as
children;
to
the
food
court
that
was
carpeted
(which
made
it
quiet
unlike
the
audio-assault
we
get
now
in
the
cold,
hard,
echo
chamber
that
replaced
the
former).
This
was
a
place
where
we
ate
from
real
plates
with
real
cutlery
(&
those
inclined
could
grab
a
glass
of
wine
at
the
bar).
Nowadays
Roselands
is
good
for
grocery
shopping
(ground
floor)
with
plenty
of
cafes
to
take
a
break.
Unfortunately
this
floor
is
always
busy.
Even
lining
up
to
several
of
the
specialised
merchants
(eg
seafoods;
delicatessen;
grocer's)
can
be
a
bit
of
a
shuffle.
On
the
3rd
floor
is
the
Eatery.
There
are
some
good
choices
here
though
it
doesn't
have
the
variety
that
some
plazas
do-
especially
since
covid19.
Many
vendors
have
exited
all
together
including
Macca's,
which
is
surprising.
My
personal
fav
which
is
still
here
is
the
Spuds
&
Roasts
store.
The
+'s:
*It's
fairly
easy
to
find
parking
spots
*It's
not
too
big
so
doesn't
take
too
long
to
get
around
*Choice
of
3
supermarkets
*Ground
level
is
good
for
grocery
shopping
*Ground
level
is
good
for
cafes
or
takeaway.
My
favourites
here
are
DeliFrance,
especially
the
tuna-mix
baguettes;
Costi
Seafood
for
both
uncooked
&
cooked
seafood
(takeaway);
the
cold-pressed
orange
juice
at
the
grocer's;
the
lasagne
&
cold
meats
from
the
deli;
the
honey-soy
chicken
and
chicken
rissoles
from
the
chicken
shop.
They
also
do
hot
food
for
anyone
who
can't
wait
to
cook.
*There
is
an
abundance
of
optometry
stores
to
choose
from.
*There
are
a
couple
of
medical
centres.
The
-'s:
*The
lifts
are
slow,
despite
having
added
additional
lifts
in
recent
years
*The
lifts
located
inside
aren't
very
big.
They
really
can
only
take
2
shopping
trolleys
&
4
passengers
at
a
time.
*There
are
rarely
any
disability
parking
spaces
available
(I'd
estimate
one
being
available
about
10%
of
the
time).
*They
lost
a
number
of
good
stores
during
the
refurbishment
(just
prior
to
the
start
of
covid).
Obviously
the
management's
requirements
were
not
conducive
to
many
of
these
merchants.
Some
of
these
stores
were
essential
services
(eg
chemist)
who
had
loyal
customers
for
decades.
The
biggest
loss
for
me
was
the
exiting
of
Hot
Dollar.
It
wasn't
a
very
big
store
but
had
a
great
variety
&
some
quality
products
at
very
reasonable
prices.
There
is
still
the
Reject
shop
but
they
are
now
transitioning
to
more
if
a
cut-price
grocery
store
(importing
products
from
a
UK-based
supermarket).
I'd
really
like
the
see
a
Base
Warehouse
like
that
one
in
Menai
OR
bring
over
the
Dollar
Store
from
the
USA
(even
though
their
prices
now
start
at
$1.25,
it's
their
variety
that
is
so
good).
*I
haven't
found
a
butcher
at
Roselands
that
I'm
happy
with
in
the
last
few
years.
I
continue
to
go
to
Riverwood
or
Mortdale
to
buy
meat.
