Great leisurely bushwalk for family! Just remember parts of it get rocky so not suitable for prams. Three and nine year olds loved it, especially the cave along the way. There is a colony of fruit bats near one end with signs telling you to be careful and quiet. We saw loads of them making heaps of noise. At the beginning there are BBQs and undercover seating. There are toilets too but we've never seen them open... If you park on Sutton Ave, Earlwood, there is a set of steps leading down to the walk. Adjacent to the entrance is a small playground for younger kids.

Tranquil park, never really busy. A blend of bird sounds, insect sounds and train sounds.

Love this place! Such a great get away from it all. Seeing the colony of flying foxes was such a delight and so many birds.

First time visit and definitely worth exploring more. Met other walkers and dogs alike. Flying fox camp was a treat too. We started at Turrella Reserve to Girrahween Park. Only downside was no toilets at either reserve or park.

Such a lovely walk that requires actual walking along a track and not just a footpath. The bats are cool to see which are located halfway between Turella and Bardwell Park station. And my little girl loves seeing the train go by. I'd avoid the track after heavy rains, it will be too muddy over sections.

Lovely walk (note that it's not looped) and got to see the grey-headed flying foxes' camp! Cool and surprisingly active during the day - don't mind the smell.

Did the Girrahween bush walk from Bardwell Park to Turella with my two toddlers and they loved it. Easy walk with some mini challenges for the kids, the flying foxes (or bats as my kids called them) retreat is amazing and at the end of the walk there was a playground for the kids with benches for a nice lunch setting and some ducks to feed under the bridge. Then caught a quick train back to Bardwell Park. Great fun for the kids!

It was a good short bush walk. Definitely enjoyed it. Though they have removed the flying foxes now and was not able to see it. The track is between Turrella station and Bardwell Park station, so you can come from either side. You may bring your own food as there is a picnic area when you get to Girrahween park.

Totally agree with another review, it is a hidden treasure. Unfortunately the flying foxes camp has moved on. Still it's a great bushwalk in the middle of suburban Sydney. The place is also popular for rock climbing.

This place is a hidden treasure. Such a beautiful spot to escape to. The only down side is no public toilet. You need to be fit and agile to navigate the tracks, no strollers or wheelchairs

Mostly overgrown with weeds. Could do with a massive amount of bush regen. Fruit bat colony is very cute (noisy and smelly but great to see up close).

Cute little bush walk so close to the hustle and bustle of the innerwest. Path was clean and well maintained. Only suggestion to council would be to update the signage as they were all dirty and covered and graffiti. It was great to see such a large thriving population of flying foxes too!

It’s a nice short walk, some benches to sit down by and close to a field on one side and on the other side there’s another field with a little playground. * Keep in mind to take your rubbish with you as there’s almost no bins. * So Lovely to see the flying foxes thriving!

A nice little walk. Bring good shoes if you want to rock hop, or stick to the trails. Some nice green open areas and a barbecue set up. Public toilets at the entrance in Earlwood. Signs that there may be snakes to excuse the children haha! On leash dog walking, although half the people with dogs forget this. I have seen q few messes people didn't clean up too. But overall a nice peaceful or fun walk. It's up to you!

Fantastic park and native reserve which is a huge asset to the community and the environment. Pity it is not respected by Council or the State, lacking management and funding to bring it to its potential. Explore and enjoy it.

Incredible to find bushland like this near a major city. Also amazing to see the bats hanging out there...literally. It's only a short walk, but it's nice and peaceful.

It became a good quick bushwalk. I simply enjoyed it. Even though they have removed the flying foxes now and changed into now not capable of seeing it. The music is between Turrell station and Bardwell park station, so you can come from both aspects. It's an easy path in which all of us can revel in, even children and elders. The handiest downside turned into no toilets at both reserve or park.

Love the long walk especially with my dogs. There is a bbq area and toilet which is great. The first meadow opens up nicely to lots of sun for entire day. I could spend hours reading book while my dogs just enjoying the off leash area.

A nice walking track for adventurers, the walking track is very narrow at times so making way for oncoming people is challenging. Dont go there after heavy rain unless you have gumboots as there's alotta muddy areas. The highlight was seeing the fruit bats roosting in the trees.

  • 5/5 Henry C. 3 years ago on Google
Loved the track, it's a good length, track is well designed and easy to walk, the surrounding view is astounding. A must try!

I love waking here, it amazes me that there is practically a mini rainforest in the middle of Earlwood that leads all the way to Turella, If you're into bushwalking it just want to get away from all the noise this is a great place to do it.

(Translated by Google) It is a rather elongated park with sites, at the beginning, for barbecues, very picturesque, due to the leafy foliage. It almost looks like you are out of town. The main attraction is a path, easy to walk, including children, which passes through an area where a large colony of Gray-headed Flying Fox (Pteropus poliocephalus) sleeps (by day), so you have to go through the biggest stealth , not to disturb them. You can also be reached by any of their depositions. The trail reaches another park at Wolli Creek Regional Park, which has a small play ground and large green fields, bathrooms and water. In Girrahween Park, you can take dogs with leashes. It also has some stone walls that can be used by climbers.
