HMAS Vampire

Maritime museum

👍👍 Another excellent vessel based at the National Maritime Museum. The HMAS Vampire is definitely worth inspecting & there is plenty of access to internal & external areas . After boarding the HMAS Onslow I found this ship to be obviously far more spacious !! The HMAS Vampire Destroyer is beautifully... People often mention HMAS, Vampire,

Another excellent vessel based at the National Maritime Museum. The HMAS Vampire is definitely worth inspecting & there is plenty of access to internal & external areas . After boarding the HMAS Onslow I found this ship to be obviously far more spacious !! The HMAS Vampire Destroyer is beautifully preserved and the tour guides are super helpful . The HMAS Advance was moored close by but not accessible last Sunday . I’ll inspect on my next visit & provide an update on the Attack -class patrol boat that served 20 years of service between 1968-1988 predominantly in the northern to equatorial seas.

Though the cannons did not work, I was able to push a 4-year-old off board :)

The HMS Vampire the war ship was a nice experience. You can walk through most of the areas inside the war ship.

HMAS Vampire (D11) … which is a Daring-class destroyer , which launched in 1956 & decommissioned in 1986 This Battle Honour Navy destroyer , is now permanently docked at Australian National Maritime Museum , on Darling Harbour Sydney So interestingly HMAS Vampire (D11) … is now a museum & you can explore inside & over is vessel I’m ex military & it was still fascinating to explore HMAS Vampire (D11) & the other vessel tied up at this Australian Maritime museum In Australian Navy history … there had been 2 Navy Ships , named HMAS Vampire … the other Navy ship , was a HMAS Vampire (D68) … which was a WW1 V-class destroyer & was sunk during WW2

Ship is being maintained very well. Enjoyed my self guided tour. Museum staff informed me ships and Submarine were open everyday for visitors during the week. I had arrived early and security told me ship and submarine were only available for tours during the weekends. Times were also a little confusing since the museum evidently opens at 10 while the vessels open at 10:30 AM. Definitely worth a visit.

Purchased the HMAS x EMC Audamus experience and it was awesome. Dinner was prepared by Rising Sun Workshop which was a little cold since it was the coldest winter night in Sydney, but the overall vibe was very nice. Highly recommend if this pops up again, very unique experience

Such an Amazing Ship!, I was very amazed when onboard the HMAS Vampire. Just Standing next to the 4.5 Inch Turrets was super cool!! Totally would Recommend.
