A fantastic place to spend way too much on pastries. Flour and stone and APB fighting to take my fancy pastry money. Some really top notch pies as well from Broomfields pies (their pastry and filling are superb). Stunning flowers, great fruit and veg, heaps of fantastic products on sale from a diverse mix of local creators. Coming here is a fantastic way to spend your Saturday morning.

One of our favourite weekend markets, with a large selection of gourmet foods, fresh vegetables/fruits, spices, breakfast fare, crafts, flowers etc Wonderful place to visit, for a lovely Saturday out & to stock up on quality food items. Highly recommend

Always love visiting the carriageworks markets, it's got a wonderful range if fresh and ready to eat options. The crates are handy to be able to sit in the sun and enjoy the weather. I picked up a fab bite from Bird and Ewe, fresh flowers, and a take home pho!

Great market, primarily fresh food and produce. You need to arrive early to have the best choice, and secure a parking spot if you’re driving. Walking or cycling is best. The market has a friendly local feel to it, seeing plenty of regulars there. The stalls do have a bit of a turnover but largely consistent. The crowds have never been overpowering and there’s plenty of space to wonder around. Getting a seat at the table to enjoy your coffee and cake can be a challenge. You do however have shelter from the sun or rain as it’s completely covered.

Come early and keep your credit card handy because this outdoor market is rocking with great vendors - people who work hard to produce the food we take so for granted. @carriageworks has done a great job of making sure the shoppers have choices for pastries, flowers, coffees, honey and so much more. I highly recommend making a stop at Carriageworks market part of your Saturday morning. But don’t be showing up at noon- you *might be* (will be) disappointed.

I came here for The Big Design Market held on 13-15, October with over 200 designers and makers displaying and selling their unique products ranging from ceramics, jewellry, art prints, clothing to cocktails, local wines, baked goods to Japanese inspired salads. There are many food and drink stalls to choose from for your snack. Toilets are accessible on site. Great art and culture exploring and shopping experience!

Beautiful venue. As the name suggests, it was formerly part of the Everleigh rail complex and has a fantastic history. It's been lovingly restored and you'll spot the train tracks still in place. ❤️🚞 ❗Note that Carriageworks is a venue. I recently visited for the Sydney Writer's Festival and there are regular farmers markets and art installations. However, if you happen by on a random day, there isn't necessarily much to see except the building itself. This isn't a museum or the like. 🚲 Located directly on the Wilson St bike path, with ample bike parking. 🚈 Closest train stop is Redfern. Easily accessible from City Rd buses in Newtown as well (just walk through Sydney Uni)

Last night the Carriageworks VIVID Night Markets was one of the most horrendous things I've ever had the pleasure of paying entry for. Completely oversold and what looked to be 45 minute waits for almost everything there. Selling something as a "Night Market" only for it to be a glorified feeding trough is a disgrace. Won't be going anywhere near it next year and I suggest you do the same.

We came for the art, we left with none (because did you see the prices 👀) but it was amazing and if I was furnishing a luxe penthouse in the sky with huge walls I’d definitely be down for most of the stuff here. Great space to host in, the building is fascinating.

Carriageworks is a location where arts, music and food thrive. The culture and community is rich and the people passionate. Carriageworks has a vast variety of events and markets to cater to all. Family friendly, dog friendly, and culturally aware. I have attended a variation of events and attractions at carriageworks and I must attend to the curation and purposeful choices made throughout. You can learn alot and meet very friendly people always willing to chat or you can keep to yourself and enjoy the environment and general vibe. It is always low pressure with just enough going on that you feel involved without being overwhelmed. From specially curated gin, flowers and music to food sourced from native ingredients. Carriageworks is a place for everyone. The recent even I attended was a first for the new night life scheme and it was... one of the best nights to represent Sydney at its core, that I know. So many hidden gems within this hidden gem. Interactive and welcoming, but again, with no pressure to contribute. I could not rate carriageworks high enough. A favourite in Sydney's heart ❤️

Went for the Gin festival, a great space. The organiser should have had more seating though. With the construction, it's a 10-15 min walk from Central station.

Great site for a big event. They had enough even for a dedicated food space. The sake event was very well organised, with a nice flow of people

Really nice locals market with flowers and lots of natural organic foods and drinks. Ton of gluten free and vegan options. We arrived around 12pm (hour before closing). A lot of stuff had sold out but we managed to get a bunch of last minute deals also.

Visited on a saturday while the farmers market was there and it was a very nice experience. We bought some fresh fruit and veggies at a very good price. Also tasted some of the dishes being prepared there.

Coming here for Sydney Contemporary and farmers market. Nice place, clean, accessible with public transport, but parking area is a bit limited.

great Saturday market vibe, interesting stalls, but BYO coffee, the queues to order were really long

A nice inner Sydney market, in repurposed rail maintenance sheds. A boutique food market with organic produce, fruit and veg, bread, cheese, honey and flowers. All the food we tried was great, sat outside in the sun on milk crates. The big downside is the amount of dogs (albeit on leash) allowed in the market, close to where food is being served and families with young kids such as mine, they should only be allowed in the outdoor areas.

Lots of amazing bakery products. Fantastic place to have a whole bunch of snacks whilst shopping and people watching

Gets busy and is a bit expensive but has many delicious food options - mostly bakery type stores, a few grocers (but wouldn’t recommend for big produce/grocery shopping..unless ur loaded) and one or two coffee shops. Lots of beautiful flowers though and not too expensive !! Had the toasty from condiments -10/10 would recommend

We had an amazing experience playing here. The venue is spacious and everything went well during the night. Thanks to the team especially to Cynthia for providing us all the instructions we need for the event.

Not much on during this visit but a great venue. Have been here many times for art exhibitions, and performances of many kinds ( and the Saturday farmers market). Always enjoy the visit.

Beautiful, historic buildings and great space for events. I attended a business conference here and was very impressed with the facilities, food, staff and overall experience.

It is a place where various events are held every year. It's also the place where the Australian Fashion Week is being held in 22. This is a place where various artist exhibitions and events are held often, and a flea market is held on weekends

Great venue for the first ever plus size runway "THE CURVE EDIT" Easy to access & plenty of room to mingle.

  • 5/5 Justin C. 1 year ago on Google
Great market with a range of artisan products. Both the ham and cheese and the mushroom toasties from Sonama are delicious, with the Bloomfield’s Meat Pies packing a generous amount of tender beef mince with luscious sauce. Single O coffee did not disappoint and if you need a nice warm cuppa the miso soup is filled with seaweed, daikon, onions and more!

Carriageworks is a large, multi purpose space that can be transformed for your private or public event needs. SEMIPERMANENT Festival 2022 was a hit here, with spaces for all-day talks, stalls, food trucks and more. The warehouse feel has enough gravitas that low event dressing can keep costs down.

Easily the best urban market I have been to. It had a beautiful feeling of romance in the air and every vendor were selling incredible produce. Did not want to leave

Went on a Saturday morning to check out the Farmers Market. Great venue and vibe. Unfortunately, I got there at 12.30 and the stalls had packed up or about to pack up with lots of yummy foods sold out. If you’re thinking of visiting, my tip would be to come early.

Undercover farmers market ib the grounds of the historic carriage works. Fabulous bakeries, meat, vegetables and other goods. I bought a hideously expensive loaf of bread and ate every crumb! Plenty of space to sit and have a coffee and people watch. Very dog friendly.

Amazing location with great staff. The installations there have been amazing and well curated. The commute to the venue is reasonable and is very accessible. Plenty of parking in the area and there is a cafe instead if you're feeling peckish. I would suggest visiting now as the nick cave installation is on now and really worth checking out

Quite possibly the best market I’ve ever been to, everything quality and loads of tastings. Quality artisan food and drink, especially loved the cold brew coffee from Cold Drip Co the Kim Chi and Krauts from Holly Davis and Emilia fresh pastas, just a lovely experience, plan to be there for a few hours. The children’s Christmas carols was a lovely bonus

The Neapolitan pizza was one of the best I've had. Rich flavours from both the sauce and cheese. Unfortunately other pizzas don't hold up as well.
