👍👍 WOW. We were visiting Sydney from down the coast and were looking for a Vietnamese restaurant locally to have dinner before a show and stumbled upon Rice Pantry on Google. I have to admit, when we pulled up and found it was part of the new eatery section of the shopping centre, we were a little caut... Rice Pantry offers modern South-east Asian inspired Vietnamese treats located in the new dining precinct of Marrickville Metro. The terracotta tones and warm timbers add an inviting atmosphere for the diners. 🙂 Apart from the classic Vietnamese dishes, you will find Japanese Okonomiyaki Loaded Tots, Malaysian Scallion Roti as well as Thai Sriracha Loaded Fries. 🙂 Loved the Pho Pulled Beef Bao, the 12hr slow cooked beef was tender and flavourful. I could taste the spices from a bowl of Pho in the beef. 😋 The charcoal bao itself was soft & fluffy but would prefer less sriracha & hoisin sauce as they were a bit overpowering. 😗 The other two lunch bowls were nice. Both Vietnamese grilled pork and lemon grass chicken had a lovely charred taste to them. Serving size was also great. Will return for their dinner menu. 😃

WOW. We were visiting Sydney from down the coast and were looking for a Vietnamese restaurant locally to have dinner before a show and stumbled upon Rice Pantry on Google. I have to admit, when we pulled up and found it was part of the new eatery section of the shopping centre, we were a little cautious. The preconceptions quickly disappeared when we saw food being delivered to other diners. It looked incredible! We ordered 5 dishes across the menu for sharing and a couple of cocktails each. This is brilliant food! Simple, but fresh and oh so delicious. The roti with curry, lemongrass chicken and the short rib are a must!

We had the $69 banquet. Really nice food, especially the entree scallop with seaweed and the crispy skin pork belly main. They were so good that I could eat double the portion. Friendly staff and good customer service! Would definitely go back to try the a la carte menu and the bao.

Overall decent Asian fusion food but none of the dishes were particularly memorable. Recommendations: 🍗 Vietnamese Fried Chicken ($17/6pc) - crispy with nice seasoning 🥦 Sesame broccolini ($15) - my favourite dish, sesame sauce was delicious Good to try: 🥩 Braised wagyu short ribs ($55) - super tender, quite a large portion 🦑 Char-grilled squid ($29) - interesting dish, calamari was soft and chilli and nice addition of pineapple tamarind chutney Could go without: 🍟 Lotus root chips ($6) - nothing special 🍆 Crispy XO eggplant ($24) - bit too salty 🥔 Okonomiyaki loaded tots ($13) - basically tater tots topped with okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes 🌮 Honey yuzu prawn bao ($15/2pc) - more interesting than the pork belly bao 🌮 Crispy pork belly bao ($15/2pc) Drinks were quite good though, recommend Suddenly Lychee ($21) and Shake That Brewty ($18) if you like Vietnamese iced coffee :)

Lovely Asian place with nice staff. I had the vermicelli salad bowl with grilled pork and 2 spring rolls. My partner had the beef pho which he said was tasty. You have an option to add 2 spring rolls and jasmine tea for $6.

Pleasant modern south East Asian. The houseplum wine is quite nice. There is quite a lot of variety on the menu, so I wouldn't mind going back to try some other dishes. There could be some more transparency with pricing with the menu shown on the website tho. And kids menu wasn't offered at dinner. I also can't tell if we were charged foe the spring rolls we ordered and never recieved or whether it never made it onto the order.

Have been waiting to come for a while and we finally made it! We stuck with the sharing and small dishes menu. Staff was friendly, food came out quick! We got the nori butter scallop, prawn toast, dumplings, roti, crackling pork bao and xo eggplant baos. Everything was really high quality. Loved the char on the scallop but didn’t get a strong nori taste! Was hoping for more there but very minor!! The prawn toast was very generous, we had to take two home! Roti was average but the curry sauce was delish! The baos were soft abd fluffy! Definitely happy with our choices. The crackling thick and crunchy and flesh was juicy! Eggplant arguably more enjoyable so I recommend getting both!! Will return again! Thank you Rice Pantry!

This place was for a while on my must try list after I read review on the “concrete playground” website. Restaurant is casual but pleasant atmosphere, service is quick and food is amazing!! We were group of four and all dishes were delicious. CUMIN LAMB RIBS are must have but I think you can’t go wrong with anything from the menu. We started with vegetarian netted rolls and okonomiyaki fries , crispy pork belly followed with fried rice, eggplant and Asia greens. Portion are generous and probably we did order more than we can handle but it was well worth it. Compliments to chefs making delicious food

What a wonderful find! Beautiful restaurant in the newish precinct of Marrickville Metro. A modern take on Vietnamese food, with delicious dishes such as Nori Butter Scallops, Laksa Burrata with YouTiao (chinese fried donuts), Crackling Pork Belly and Singaporean Chilli Prawns. The smoked sauce accompanying the Lotus Root Chips was heavenly. Excellent, friendly customer service and you can even get a nice cocktail or wine with your meal! Will be back!

This place looks really nice and surprisingly the food was even better. My favourite dishes were the braised Wagyu which literally fell off the bone, the eggplant and broccolini. Also had the roti and canh chua kingfish sashimi which were both good too. Some of the flavours sound ridiculous but somehow they actually work! Was sceptical when I was looking at the menu Staff were friendly and attentive. Good place to have a date night. Would go again to try the other crazy flavours

We had a wonderful evening dining at Rice Pantry last weekend. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had the Christmas / EOY banquet and the food was excellent. The cocktails were also unique and delicious. A highlight was the chilli oil made in-house - very fragrant and complemented the dishes. Keen to come back again and try the regular menu and get my hands on a bottle of that chilli oil.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant Rice Pantry in Marrickville. The service is unmatched. The food is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! Most Asian classics and some twists. The service we received was so amazing. When we think about celebrations, Rice Pantry in Marrickville is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding. Love this place and will continue to visit.

Friendly service with tasty food. Plates arrive super fast. Recommend any of the prawn dishes and the bao are yummy. Fully licensed with a range of wines and cocktails. Tables inside or out. Be prepared to leave as soon as you finish your meal as they will need the tables.

Girls' night out; Nuff said 😉 We practically tried out most of their cocktails except “Shake that Brewty”. All of the drinks are generally refreshing and my favourite goes to the Chrysanthemum Negroni 💕 🍹 Crouching Ginger, Hidden Mandarin 🍹Suddenly Lychee 🍹Baby, Yuzu Fine 🍹Lychee & Jasmine Umeshu (2nd pic) 🍹Chrysanthemum Negroni (2nd pic) 🍹Always Be My Bae-Berry (2nd pic) ✨Vietnamese Fried Chicken ✨Cured Beef w. Puffed Rice Crisps ✨Crackling Pork Belly ✨Crispy XOXO Eggplant We started with a range of snack-y dishes and honestly we could have just stopped with those as we’re full by the end of these. But part of the reasons was because we were eating really slowly because the rest of the main dishes took a little too long to deliver 😅 Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food; it would have been better if there was less waiting time and we would probably have room for dessert 🙃 Guess we will be back again for the Hainan Rice-Cream!

There was a good selection of modern Vietnamese dishes in the menu. The highlights were XO crispy eggplant and grilled lemongrass chicken. Other dishes we ordered were mediocre - pork belly was not crispy and burrata didn’t have good texture. Dishes were on the smaller side for the price. Service was slow and felt inexperienced for a relatively quiet evening. Nice to try but won’t go back.

Wow wow the food here is delicious!! The Beef pho was so good I didn't even take a pic! The fried chicken bao is a must! Along with the crab and prawn net spring rolls plus the loaded tata tots ( okonomiyaki) . The services was amazing 10/10 . Plenty of room for large families and room for prams :) it's great to go somewhere smiling and leave happy :)

What a lovely experience we had at Rice Pantry! Speedy, friendly and polite service. The food was amazing, great sized portions and service so beautifully! Ambience was so good, cool vibe and trendy. We will defiantly be going back!! Sorry for my average pictures, they do the presentation no justice!

Such good food, had to ask them for their pork belly recipe because I've never had it as good as that before. Lovely staff, reasonably priced, well worth a visit.

This is a wonderful Asian offering located at the (newish) eat strip of Marrickville Metro. You can eat in the nicely fitted-out modern indoor seating or under covered outdoor seating. Our food order was taken by the polite an attentive waitress, who also offered nice suggestions for our Sunday brunch. The food came out quite promptly, possibly because we were there before the lunch time hustle. The crackling pork belly bao was very tasty and the crackling was on point. It's a great starter quickly followed by a plate of banging salt and pepper squid. This dish was so good. Lovely bite-sized pieces which were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and spongey on the inside. A definite stand out dish and nicely complimented by a glass of young coconut juice to wash it down. Our 2 mains followed soon after and did not disappoint. The crispy grilled pork vermicelli salad was up there with some of the nicest ones we've had. The pork pieces were perfectly prepared with just the right amount of grilling to make it crunchy but not dry. Blended with the noodles and salad and splashed with the tangy sauce it was near perfect! Finally our second main was the fried rice. With a mix of fried egg flakes and sweet onion pieces it was absolutely delicious and exactly how I like my fried rice. The food was wonderful, the staff were great but the pricing was slightly on the higher end for this type of food but it was well worth it. We were totally full and content and both agreed it was top shelf fare.

The food was fresh and good! Highlight was the steak! Prices were quite high for the portion of food we received and the customer service was hit and miss. When we needed a refill of water or extra cutlery the waitress came across frustrated and annoyed. ***total $300 for 8 people but left still quite hungry.

Overpriced food. Unauthentic. The spring rolls taste and look exactly like it came out of the box store bought that could cost $5. It so call crab and prawns rolls tasted without any of it. Save your money and go somewhere else. ~$17 for this won’t fill you at all and most probably 0 protein in it.

👍 Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
