Worst hotel my husband and I have experienced to date. The lobby was beautiful and the staff were pleasant but that's where the compliments end. The room smelled musty, bed was rock hard, the couch made me itch. The design of the bathroom floors were such that water flowed out of the room into the kitchenette instead of down the drain. The free streaming in the room did not work and no one came to fix it even after we called down to the front desk. The dryer also didn't work so we left with a bag of wet clothes. There was mould everywhere. The spa had scum all around the edges and the ceiling vents were covered in it. I understand they are short on cleaning staff given covid but it was ridiculous. You should not offer the room if it is not suitable. Even if you just had staff check the rooms before check in. When my husband started feeling unwell we decided to check out a day early and head home because the place was so uninviting and uncomfortable. We booked this hotel as it was a reasonably priced 5 star accommodation but it is not worth the price and does not deserve the stars in my opinion.

I have absolutely no idea how other reviewers consider this hotel to be clean. Our first room had mold in the shower that was at least several weeks if not months old. The shower drain had not been cleaned in several weeks either. The area around the free standing refrigerator was all dirty too. There was dirt and grime in every single corner. Anything that could not be reached with a simple vacuum was not clean. Upon complaining at the reception, the staff was neither surprised nor truly apologetic. They transferred us to another room, which was slightly better but certainly didn't deserve the monicker "luxury" either. Here too there was mold in the shower, the build quality of tiles and the kitchen was subpar and corners as well as vertical surfaces were dirty. It was okay to sleep in but I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone interested in a stay in Sydney.

We had a small issue with the air conditioning which the management and maintenance team were proactive and efficient in resolving. We could not have asked any more of the team who were always polite, helpful and friendly. The room itself has all the amenities you could ask for and the gym/pool facilities were good and never crowded. Location is excellent, sandwiched between two main streets with tram links to Circular Quay within 50m. Short walk to Central Station which is also connected via tram if you have luggage. This is our second stay at this location and we will definitely stay again.

No cleaning. Dirty rooms. Dirty curtains. Dirty mirrors. Dirty couch, also finding belongings from the guests before and hair absolutely everywhere when we first showed up. - the list goes on. No daily servicing & no extra amenities or bigger bins to make up for the lack of service. No real customer service. Remotes to TVs not working. And summed up with a terrible email upon exit with lies and false information within said emails. Then met with hostility when I rang to speak on said emails & issues. I’ve never had a bad hotel stay in my life, but this is extremely disappointing and saddening. Not one bit worth $900+. Plus they harassed our friends as to why they had the “do not disturb” sign up. That’s private and none of the staffs business. They also claimed they had lost something we left for our friends at the desk, but funnily enough it turned up magically when my partner rang anonymously and asked if there was something still waiting. Really upset by this - it’s honestly ruined our entire trip.

This is a beautiful hotel with great facilities, great service and a stunning foyer. Comfortable (enough) suites... but with five star hotels I do imagine the fluffy towels, decadent sheets, comfy robe and those luxury 1% things which just weren’t here. The gym floor and weight racks also needed a good clean - just looked like no one had used it for a year or so. I was happy with my stay.. just didn’t quite feel 5 stars

The foyer presents nicely and there are always staff at the desk which is great. The staff were on the desk were lovely. The room was presented okay as well. The only problem was we were placed next to the janitors closet and for some reason there was always a pile of dirt / dust at our front door area. The lift in the hotel is extremely slow. When the doors close it felt like it was going to break down. One morning while waiting for the lift I could hear the alarm going off as someone was stuck in the lift. Definitely needs a major upgrade.

This is a great place to stay. The first night one of the lifts was out and it took a little long to get to the 34th floor but it was only an extra 5 minutes when I timed it on the second run. The staff are friendly and this is so close to restaurants, chinatown, darling square and quarter. Easy to walk everywhere from here and the parking for the car was secure as well. A very pleasant stay. The little kitchenette was perfect for making healthy dinners too. Everything you need is in the drawers and cupboards. Enjoyed the stay.

I recently stayed in an Altitude Suite for a business trip. The suite was very clean with a very comfortable bed and necessary amenities supplied. The staff are very friendly and I was able to check in early which was great. The lifts are a little slow and room servicing reduced due to Covid but really these are minor issues. I would definitely stay again.

Reception staff are very friendly and accomodating both during the day and at night. Really appreciate the help with finding an adapter and providing more towels for us. Self Check-In kiosks are also very easy and convenient to use. A reception staff was attentive and came over to check with us while using the kiosk. Also the location is very convenient. Right next to Chinatown, the tram track (Very convenient travelling around) is right outside to get into the city with so many places to eat, drink and play.

I stayed here for a night while I went to the Kpop Festival. I had to check in early & the staff were friendly & helpful with my situation. The hotel was very spacious & clean, with the bed being super comfortable. There was also a kitchen tap in the room which was a huge bonus, as I saved heaps of money on water!!! The location is super convenient as it is very close to Central Station & the tram! I enjoyed my stay here & plan to return. :)

My first time staying at a Meriton suites hotel and the experience was amazing. I arrived quite late to which the hotel was very accommodating considering I had notified them prior, the lady at the front was very helpful in guiding me to the correct set of lifts. The room was amazing, nice and spacious. Everything was nice and neat and clean. Only downside is when running the air-conditioners in the room their appeared to be a bad smell coming from them. Perhaps a better cleaning of the filters or something like that better be done in the future. other then that the 3 night stay I had was great!

I would like to thank devinah for being very accommodating to us and offering amazing customer service at arrival it made our stay enjoyable. For those coming by car, keep in mind you will need to drive your car in an elevator which then goes down to the Meriton car park. All in all, would recommend. Thank you!

As soon as you walk in to the Meriton Suites, Campbell Street, the stresses fall away. A very tranquil setting with cheerful and attentive staff. The hotel is very quiet and we'll maintained. Our room was spacious and, having the ability to open the windows, made it airy too. The kitchenette was well equipped. Close by to Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, Darling Harbour etc, so perfect for touring around. The light rail on George Street was only metres away too. Outside noises were minimal so, all in all, a lovely stay.

Hotel is strict on check in and out time. Rooms are well equipped with microwave, refrigerator, washing machine and dryer. Toilet is slightly small but the rest of the room is really spacious with a couch and dining table and an open kitchen. Housekeeping is not thorough. I stayed for over a week and cleaning was once every 2-3 days or on request. Elevators can get busy in the mornings and evenings. If you’re staying on higher floors, the wait could sometimes take up to 10 mins and getting down would take significant amount of time if the elevator is stopping at almost every floor. Location is conveniently located in Thai town with many restaurants and convenience stall open past midnight. What I’ve liked about the room (studio) is the spaciousness and that I was able to save money on laundry since that can be done in the room. Recommended for those who needs to stay for longer period.

  • 4/5 Yuu K. 9 months ago on Google
The room has full set of utensils. If you like to buy local food and cook, this studio would meet your expectation. And, the location is within 5minutes walk to Supermarket. Good place to stay for long days.

Helpful staff, loved the pool, gymnasium, spa and sauna. My room has a laundry which came in handy on my last night in Sydney. There is parking on sight and across the road but you have to pay for it. There are views but it all depends on the level you're on and which way it's facing.

Update: Meriton's Manager reached out to me today "Roe", spoke kindly and briefed about policies. Policies were the same as I have described them. However, politeness was healing... All this, believe it or not, was triggered by Mr. Andy the guy who came to look into my Aircon problem on 5th Dec...he did talk and listen with complete ownership. Not until today I knew occupant need to handle trash if the bin was full sooner than the 4th day. Politely, suggesting passing on policies to every booking via mail or place a policy doc in rooms. Would be so much easier. 🙂 Main review 3rd Dec:Short Summary -not great Service and Policies if you are considering stay longer than 2 days . All the good reviews you see would be a day or two stay who are passing by through Sydney. Read other reviews you will understand this place isnt like other Meritons. The housekeeping requests are slow and they dont change linen until you are on 7th day of stay. My room had a split AC with a dying remote . On complaint they changed the batteries, and when nothing happened , they promised me to send in maintenance . Two days since no one has turned in. The AC louver makes doesn't swing and makes noises . Still not fixed. The concierge/ reception is not the politest with little or no understanding of what is being requested except for a girl named Sasa and another Indian receptionist . This morning , 4th Dec, there was a male receptionist who had a Spanish /Columbian accent who kept repeating - "your room was on dnd yesterday and so we could not clean your room"- when i was called him to say the housekeeping team has come in now and its the 5th day of my stay , can i get a linen and towels changed. He was neither convincing , nor polite - a bit rude rather. "This is our policy . we cant help" No restaurants here. It doesnt help. Rooms are large but the layout of switches and other stuff will start haunting you after a day or two eg there are no plug in points near sofa. Light switches are away from Bed . The elevator doors are irritating slow for the section upper levels . I am Still in the hotel as i am writing this. 4th dec .

Amazing location, 10 minutes walk to Central train station and Chinatown, just outside Thai Town and tram lines. Easy walk to Queen Victoria Building and Financial District. Rooms are very well furnished including dishwasher, washer and dryer, large fridge, very fast free WiFi download and upload.

Comfortable bed, block out blinds, staff are lovely! We checked in early and checked out late at no extra cost. Would definitely recommend staying here! One thing to notes is you have to put your car in a lift to get up to the parking level (such a strange experience that I’d never done before/didn’t know existed!)

My husband and I travelled from Melbourne via train. We arrived quite early in the morning at 8am. I am 25 weeks pregnant and was super tired from the trip. Devina was caring and gave me a bottle of water and asked me to sit down as soon we arrived. Devina and Imad were at the reception and they allowed us to check in early so I could rest. There was a problem with the shower door and they upgraded us to a higher level with no issue. Location is perfect as it is very close to tram and shops. Devina took her time to have a chat with us when we checked out. Overall, our stay was very good.

Rooms old, dirty and dark. Bad layout, desk does not have a power socket nearby, can't work on my laptop. Getting room service to pass me items takes forever. 1 hour and 3 reminders later, finally got the blankets I requested for. Blankets were very dirty, had to wash multiple times to get the hair and dust out. Fridge is barely working. Light is old and poorly lit. Update: Following this review, room service staff has gotten items for me efficiently, between 7-20 minutes waiting time without reminders. Counter staff who picks up my room request calls are also efficient in communicating my needs to the room service team.

I stayed for one night in their studio luxury suite. The staff were professional and user friendly. The room was super clean. The kitchen as well as the laundry facilities were more than adequate. The pool, spa and gym were clean and orderly. The location was great and close to all action in the city. So close to public transport as well but it has car parks too. it is my new favourite stay with its reasonable prices in the core Sydney CBD.

Perfect location, very lovely hotel. Altitude suite is very spacious, modern, and the balcony space is wonderful. Gym, pool, and sauna are very nice as well. Was very worth it.

Very convenient location, quite close to Central station. The rooms are tidy and modern, with a good kitchenette. The bathroom is a decent size, and the shower was very nice! We had no issues with check-in or check-out, very friendly staff. We've stayed on two separate short stays in Sydney, both very positive experiences.

  • 4/5 Chris M. 2 years ago on Google
Great price, great service (although I wasn't sure that the check-in counter was actually that given no staff at the he time). When I was checked-in, this was done well. One complaint in an otherwise faultless room - the shower leaked (the door needs some thought). Apart from that more than good for the price

Good sized apartment with up to date complete inclusions. Efficient check-in. Only negative was one lift was not working, so access to 39th floor sometimes slow.

We loved the apartment only thing missing was lovely fluffy towels, good quality coffee pods and tea bags. Lovely set out inviting apartment with an opening window which was nice.

A great stay in a perfect location if you're wanting to be located right near Chinatown, Thai Town, Central and Town Hall stations. There are so many amazing restaurants closeby. The suites are modern, clean and have everything you need. We stayed in a studio and the bed was large, the living area was spacious, and the kitchenette was handy. The bathroom was a bit small and you had to play a bit of tetris to get in and out of the shower, and the door barely clears the shower and the toilet. We were on the 20th floor facing Darling Harbour, and it was quiet. The only negative is that for a high rise, there were only 2 working lifts, so it was always a long wait at the elevators. We stayed for 3 nights and the lift was never fixed.

Don't buy parking from meriton You will get parking for 18 bucks opposite They charge $25 and the parking is far ,almost 500 meters away Better to park opposite the meriton suites and don't pay them a higher amount

Lovely, clean hotel. Would definitely stay here next time I come to Sydney. The staff are very friendly and helpful at reception. And the hotel is in a very convenient location. Surrounded by amazing restaurants and right next to the trams. Great value for money. Highly Recommend.

Room was a good size, with all the necessary amenities. Bathroom was very large, but rather dirty - the grouts look like they've seen better days. Do not that you also will need to take out your own trash and throw them in a chute that was not well marked in my opinion. Location wise - it was very central and next to the Capitol station, however due to it's close proximity with George St, it can feel unsafe to walk in the area at night (but this is just my opinion). Service was great, with the staff being attentive and helpful.

Fourth time we’re staying at Meriton, same hotel. It’s in a perfect location, close to everything you’d like to do, restaurants, theatres, movies, shopping, museums. The staff is always delightful, attentive, professional & helpful. Great facilities, great service & a stunning entrance. Perfect with a small kitchenette for quick meals. Taxis & the trams just around the corner. And loads of various small restaurants & coffee shop within a few meters distance.

The location is convenient to the light rail but that might be the only good thing I have to say. The room was dirty with flies in the shower and room service only came every third day. Even when they came the bed was a mess, the shower wasn’t touched, nothing was actually cleaned. All that was done was them bringing new towels and shampoo/conditioner which they only give you 1 mini size of each that’s supposed to last you 3 days until your room gets “cleaned” again. Very underwhelmed considering we saw online this was a 5 star hotel.

Excellent stay, Jenny at reception was fantastic and assisted us during check in. Slightly late getting our check in time but were offered a late check out. Room was clean and adequate. Nice view from 33rd floor. Remember that these are suite's and not a hotel so smoking allowed which made the room smell. Otherwise highly recommended

during our stay we could not use the gym because the air conditioning was broken and we were told that it has been broken for more than a month. they put two mini fans to beat the heat seems like a joke the main revolving door was broken too. And not to mention the glass of the windows, they have not been cleaned for years, I would say that since before the pandemic. They are dirty from the outside we could not appreciate any view. They should contract a properly company to clean these. They could invest a little more in improving the standard. the area is full of Thai restaurants a bit dirty but very convenient near train stations and cafes. the staff is very friendly and we appreciate them.

What was not to like about this property. Great location with an easy walk from Central Station so arriving from the airport was easy. We were leaving by train so again easy. Rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. Check-in staff were friendly. My only complaint would have been the fridge was small and didn't have a freezer (we bought ice cream for dessert). Theatre across the road was very handy. Plenty of variety in food shops around the one block. Light rail very close. Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed in a one bedroom unit on the 15th floor of this apartment hotel. The view from my unit was great but partially blocked, wish l could be on a higher floor. However, the room was clean and the kitchen was functional. I like that there's washer and dryer in the unit so l can do my laundry at the end of the day. The staff members were professional and friendly, especially Jenny, who attended to me with the checking in. Location is great as the Chinatown Light Rail Stop is literally at the doorstep. The Capitol Theatre Light Rail Station is also nearby. Together, the three Light Rail lines can bring you to many key places. Chinatown is nearby, within walking distance, a lot of food choices can be found there. Paddy's Market is also nearby, you can get souvenirs and many other things there.

Great location, super close to public transport, and at walking distance of the center. Plenty of restaurants and a supermarket nearby are open until late. The room was quiet and big enough. The staff was very friendly and supportive. On the first day, we reported that the coffee machine and dishwasher didn't work and they were very quick to fix it. Bonus point to the swimming pool/jacuzzi/sauna. It was a nice touch perfect to relax after a long day. I would definitely recommend and stay here again. On the negative side, the shower screen didn't have a proper size, the whole bathroom became wet when showering. Also, I don't like that there is no cleaning if you stay less than 7 days (although they replaced some supplies in the middle of our stay). Unfortunately, that is becoming more and more common in hotels.

Awesome experience here, cool self check in and check out machine. It was a cool experience, but the hotel staff were funny as well. I know you're faster than the self check in machine, but I've never seen them in a hotel before. Room was very spacious and essentially an apartment. Dishwasher, washing machine, drier and full sized fridge/freezer. You name it, I was impressed. Close to public transport or a short walk away from central.

I did a lot of research before I book this place, because me and my partner planned to stay at the same hotel for 4 days 3nights. We don’t mind to pay a little bit more to stay at a better one so that’s why we booked with them. However there are some pros and cons. Pros: Convince location, well the facilities in the room, besides normal stuff about tea and coffee with milk in the fridge, it’s literally we can cook our meals (basic pan and pot, knife and all basic kitchen stuffs, microwave, even dishwasher liquid, dishwasher with couple pods), also included the laundry(with laundry liquids), dryer, iron in our room that’s really good for people if you are having a long trip in Sydney. Also a lot of rooms to store your things from the closet to the toilet stuff. They do have hair dryer provided and if you need a hair straightener you can call the front desk as well. Gym and pool are included. Cons: First thing when we arrived to the room and try to put some stuff to the fridge, there were a leftover bottle of juice from people stayed in the room at past. That’s really disgusting whoever cleaned the room didn’t check that. During the staying, everyday whoever did the tidying was quiet careless in different things. First day when we came back from travelling we realised they gave us new towels but didn’t refill the coffee pods. Second time the coffee pods had been refilled but we missed towels to dry after shower and floor towel in the toilet. It such a inconvenience if we need to call and ask for room service for basic stuff. In conclude, we probably will still book here again if we come to Sydney again, because it’s really convenient about the location and the facilities are amazing. However as a five stars hotel, staff on cleaning procedures/ checklist can be a bit more improvement.
