👍👍 Great room for our 2 night stay in Sydney . Pyrmont is such a cute little area of Sydney and was very quiet during our stay . The rooms are clean , have great ducted air conditioning and comfy bed . We stayed in the double room with shared amenities, which I was a bit hesitate about when booking but... People often mention great, good, Great, staff, night, beer, selection, room, friendly, beers,

Popped in to this pub after lunch today. Bar staff rude and uninviting. Obviously they are doing so well they don’t care about return customers. We had 1 drink and left never to return again.

Loved our night here. We’ve been working our way through the pubs in Pyrmont while we live here temporarily and so far this is our favourite. Great atmosphere, great selection of beers, wines and cocktails. And the food is delicious. Definitely not the pub for an affordable feed, but for a nicer meal and great ambience it’s the spot.

Great room for our 2 night stay in Sydney . Pyrmont is such a cute little area of Sydney and was very quiet during our stay . The rooms are clean , have great ducted air conditioning and comfy bed . We stayed in the double room with shared amenities, which I was a bit hesitate about when booking but was great for our stay. Never had wait to use the amenities as there was 3 toilets so was never a problem . Such an affordable price we have already booked again for our next stay in Sydney at the end of the year .

I stayed in room 6 for a night and it was a noisy torture chamber, buses run outside frequently and when they stopped to pick up passengers the windows rattle of my room would rattle noisily., needless to say, I didn't get much sleep. I don't understand how they could renovate the Hotel so well, but some how neglected to add double glazing for noise reduction from the traffic outside. If they fixed the noise issue I would stay there every other week as I come into Sydney pretty often. The hotel is clean and other than the noise issue, very comfortable in a great location. Please let me know when you fix this issue as I would love to stay there again but only once a proper job is done.

Terminus has been reborn. It was Ivy covered and completely derelict for decades. Now it's a chic yuppie bar. Not exactly a restoration, but reasonably sensitive to the original architecture while adding a great deal of modern amenity.

Great job on the renovation. The beer prices are excessive ($8.50 for schooner of super dry), but bottled wine not too bad. I tried the much advertised chicken schnitzel & slaw ($22), and whilst the chips were piping hot and fresh, the dish scored a zero in terms of flavour. It was a big meal, but absolutely zero taste; the only flavour I got out of chicken & slaw was the lemon wedge I squeezed over it. Not the cheapest meal, and the food at the point & the Kirk is infinitely better. Not sure I would go back, when there are far better and cheaper options in close proximity

Have been coming here since it opened (again), love the amazing building and the heritage. The wine list is decent and food used to be fantastic but the kitchen has changed hands recently and is nowhere near where used to be in terms of quality and value for money. I used to make an effort to come here when in the area but probably won’t any longer to be honest.

There were 7 of us eating a meal here for lunch on a Sunday. We had a mix between meals and a couple of kids meals and we were all happy. I had the beef burger and loved the flavour. Simple and delicious. The history of the building is amazing, you just need to search it out.

MISSY THE CAT RETURNS More of a restaurant with a bar, than a pub as such. The pub aspects (trivia night amplified noise, bar staff vibe, awkward high chairs and tables) detract from the restaurant, and vice versa (pricey for a pub, dining section takes space that might be better left open for a decent boozer). To my mind, the key problem is that the food comes at restaurant prices but - at least, on the night - it rated as pretty ordinary pub fare. None of the six mains was a particular stand-out. Flavours were lacking. Pasta, a bit over. Chips, the usual. Granted, nothing was downright bad, but 'ordinary' is no longer good enough given all the competition in Sydney. Also, very noisy with trivia night (another restaurant vs. pub identity issue). Sadly, I'd rather go somewhere else for dinner, and then proceed somewhere else for drinks afterward. Missy The Cat Star Ratings: 5 - a place of rare genius that merits repeated return visits 4 - a strong effort with no major shortcomings 3 - a solid, worthy effort with perhaps one important thing to fix 2 - several important things wrong, but at least one important thing right 1 - can't be given a zero, doesn't deserve a dollar (as of review date)

Fantastic venue perfect for team bonding - as well as getting a good feed. Organised a welcome dinner at the private room just off the courtyard and received great feedback from my team members. Would definitely go back for future team events or social occasions. Luckily I'm also a local so looking forward to trying more of the menu too! Thank you team at Terminus!

This heritage property in the trendiest neighbourhood of Sydney is a jewel preserved from a bygone era. The tremendous architectural and heritage values of Pyrmont for the history of Australia are readily apparent in this local institution dedicated to the legends of industrial development. From power plants to meat-packing houses breathe in all of the history of Pyrmont, this great launchpad of modern Australia. Plus they serve beer, have great menus and super entertaining Food Trivia Nights. This is definitely the place to be seen--or not, depending on who you are.

We have eaten here twice now. Lamb shoulder and Riverine 1kg Rib eye. Each of these dishes where share plates for 2. Both meals could not be faulted. There is a great wine list by the glass, and the beer and cider selection is fantastic. They even brew their own beer, which was a good beer.

Shared dinner with friends recently. Service was excellent, staff being polite and attentive. Food surprised on the upside - grilled barramundi was excellent as was the Shepherds Pie and the lamb souvlaki. A concise but well considered selection of craft beers on tap and a good selection of wines by the glass. Great value when quality taken into account. Ambience was excellent both in rooms upstairs and downstairs in public bar area. Winner! We will be back.

Since this old pub was restored it has become a regular haunt of ours. We held a friend's 70th birthday and had the room off the courtyard. The food and service were as usual spot on. Thanks to the staff for a great afternoon.

Good food, nice decor, high ceilings, friendly staff. A good atmosphere, with a mixed crowd. The painted walls are a nice touch, with a distictive nod to Aussie flora. The upper deck outdoor area is a great place to sit for the afternoon.

This pub used to be awesome, good atmosphere and excellent food. Been a few times recently and since the kitchen has changed hands it has gone downhill. The food is now very average at above average prices.

Stayed here one night for the event and wanted to extend but fully booked. The overall experience was great. Fast check-in. Clean and stylish rooms and well maintained facilities. Very convenient location easily traveling to the city by light rail, walking distance to the casino, fish market and night clubs. The pub has some interesting history and stories behind it. The food at the pub is also amazing!! Had the steak, juicy and full of flavor! will definitely come back!! 😍

Even though the bar was busy the staff recognised that I'd lined up before to get a menu so he served me first to take my order. It's the small things. The food was good and so were the vibes. A good little spot.

I'm scared to write a good review about the Terminus because what I like about it is that it's not as popular as it should be. You can get a drink and good food without lining up. You can actually have a conversation and the decor is really cool.

We popped in for a pint and some food around 7pm. The Schnitzel is a good choice and I tried a Young Henry's Newtowner pale ale (and liked it).

  • 5/5 SBB 2 years ago on Google
Good meal cooked just right at a fair price. Seating is spaced well so you're not having a conversation with the table next to you. It's clean and the staff are experienced & know what they are doing.

Beautiful old pub with renovated interior and elevated pub food offerings. Great atmosphere when it's busy, a bit lack-lustre when it's quiet - but aren't all pubs? Friendly staff, above average prices but well worth the money for fantastic, delicious and unique dishes like the humble fish butty made fancy (British as heck).

Great place. Awesome staff. Kitchen is open all afternoon which makes getting a late lunch possible in Pyrmont As kitchen closes at many others places. The specials are always great, wine list is great. Always a pleasure. Grateful for this local :)

Disappointing. The food was quite good but the music was so loud and inappropriate for dining, that we really struggled to enjoy our meals. It felt like the music selection and volume was catering to the team - not the guests. Upstairs the owners were having their own private function so we had to endure two types of music (jazz upstairs and heavy banging alt. rock downstairs) colliding in a torturous cacophony right where our table was located. The manager did turn it down slightly when requested but still we all felt that our enjoyment of the evening and our meals was impacted. Bit of a letdown as it was my birthday and my idea to go to the Terminus as it’s a beautiful pub.. I now wish I’d chosen a different venue.

We had a great night at The Terminus in the sweet little courtyard. Food was delicious and we enjoyed lots (if not too much) wine. The general manager Maddison is so friendly and welcoming! She also has a lovely team around her. Comfy beds to rest our heads at the end of the night too.

I always like going to the Terminus Hotel Pyrmont for a Rump Steak and a Corona. The staff are always friendly the food is always good and the beer is always ice cold. They also do a pretty good dessert if I feel in the mood. On one occasion I felt like a Tia Maria on the rocks and they didn’t have it in stock so they made sure they had some for the next time I came. When you get looked after like the way they do it definitely encourages you to come back. Thank you for the great friendly service.

We had a small group private function here last month. Vera's Cocktail Lounge is a hidden gem. We love the ambience, the colour scheme, the fresh, bright and clean open layout but yet snug and cozy, with the Vera's Bar adjacent to it serving drinks to our group. Perfect! The manager Nicky went above and beyond from the very beginning to make sure that we had a great evening and we did. Everyone was super impressed with the quality of the canapes. The bar lady Hannah who served the drinks to our group was really friendly and helpful, very pleasant to deal with. I won't turn 50 twice, and this place has definitely have made the celebration a memorable one. Thank you team : )

Handy location. I went there for an impromptu lunch with friends. Orders are placed at the bar, so no table service. Not too much of a wait though. Food delivery was straight to the point... No fuzz. Otherwise no other direct service received. There was a person clearing out empty glasses and plates, but not once addressed anyone, just picked up what this person thought it should be picked up. We were ignored. Enjoyable time with friends and handy location

Beautifully restored pub. Service was very friendly & efficient. Meals were great i.e. my steak cooked perfectly, the fish batter crunchy, fat chips & a nice salad on the side, they were also very generous servings.

Location near St Johns Metro station. Street parking impossible in this area. Busy restaurant for lunch mid week. Typical pub food. Heritage style hotel makes for an interesting visit. Unfortunately staff over-worked so come across as indifferent, rude and at times condecending. Several of our group had paid for lunch at time of ordering at the bar then spoken to abruptly when they made enquiries why others were given meals ahead of theirs when they had ordered first. Some had finished meals yet others hadn't got thier meal yet. Maybe staff should have issued table numbers to each order rather than putting 20 people on one table number. Would try this venue again to see if it was just a once off hiccup.

Two lovely outdoor seating areas, great private room with a huge round table at which we sat ten. Tasty food, with a couple of good gluten-free options and lovely staff. Really fabulous local but upmarket pub. Totally recommend.

Saturday night at around 8pm. Me - “Hey, can we put the Sydney Swans game on the big screen TV?” Them - “No, we don’t play any sports on the TV except the Matilda’s” What kind of a pub doesn’t play sport on the TV on a Saturday night?! No wonder it was dead.

The food was really good quality! We had a large group for Father’s Day and the food came out in a timely manner and the service was also very good. The Lamb shoulder and Veal cotoletta were stand outs. Definitely a great little pub for a weekend drink and lunch.

Great location, staff very friendly. Went at lunch to try the menu. The chicken snitzel was fantastic. Lots of selection for beers and drinks. There are two levels, upstairs is abit hot on the balcony but the air conditioning inside makes up for it.

Great little accidental find! Sometimes you just walk into a pub and know it’s going to be good and this place did not disappoint. Went for a quick bit, but ended up staying there all day! We will be back…by far the best place we’ve found in Sydney since moving from the UK, a place known for good boozers. Cheers to all the team who kept us fed and watered 👍🏻

Decent pub with a good sized courtyard out the back. Excellent food options with quite a big menu. Nice choice of beers too, plenty of craft beers on offer. Pint glasses. Nice staff, fast service. There was jazz on the Sunday afternoon we went in.

Traffic noise effecting street side rooms. There's no TV in any the rooms, No in room Coffee Tea facility, there's one on the 2nd floor hallway, Most room are shared toilet and bathroom. No in room ironing facility, Facilities wise not even 1 star. Location and cleanliness are the only things going for it. So unless you need a place to crash after a late night at the Casino you'll find better accommodation at the same price level elsewhere.

Had dinner here on the Queen's Birthday Monday. We sat in the bar area, ambience was great. It's great they have changed the menu since re-opening, as previous burger menu was not so inviting. Bangers and mash was great, Chicken Leek pie was ok, and the Wagu beef burger great. A good selection of wines and beers at reasonable prices.

Love what they've done with this place after being closed for decades. They've tastefully mixed the old with the new. Plenty of different indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from. The food has changed a lot since the first reopening and I'm happy to say they've finally achieved a nice balance between a restaurant and a pub.

Friendly service, decent food with not too much of a wait. Bit pricey, especially the sides, for example a side of slaw is $10 (not sure what size it is) but I feel this is a little steep for a side of slaw when you can get decent slaw sides at restaurants for almost half the price. Doughnuts smelt amazing so we decided to get some for dessert. One serve comes with 2 thick doughnuts to share but they were quite dry and a bit of a let down for the price, it comes with a side of melted chocolate but with two thick dry doughnuts the chocolate just wasn't enough for both. Decent choice of beers on tap. Nice atmosphere outside and inside, they really did an amazing job renovating this place! Overall it's good but room to grow!

As I’m a huge Colin fan I was so excited to come here on our last night in Australia.. but were left disappointed. The smalls were fantastic but the mains were a let down, perhaps our own fault for going with burgers instead of the specials? The fish burger had a small piece of fish that got lost underneath an unmelted cold piece of cheese, some lettuce and a bun that was much bigger than the fish. Chips were delicious. Staff were friendly but kept coming around every few minutes to see if they could clear our plates, they even asked my partner if he was done while he was biting on a chip and still had half a plate left :/ Also surprised to see they don’t serve coffee/tea.

Beer offering nothing to rave about: standard Aussie lagers and some IPAs that, to me, looked just like the lagers. Food, however, is fantastic. Very busy kitchen. Great courtyard. Edit: visited one week later. The patio had at least twenty young kids below the age of nine yrs. Noisy, noisy, noisy. Guess there is no MacDonald's nearby. Even so, a pub is not a suitable venue for very young children after 19:00 - indeed, at any time. Quality of food is excellent, however mustard (only Dijion), no salt or pepper shakers. Lunch bookings only taken for 9 covers or more.
