The staff was extremely friendly when I joined the gym, but when it comes to billing dispute it is very disappointing and unreasonable. I requested to suspend or cancel my membership in March 2020 due to covid and since then I haven't used any gym. There was no proper confirmation from them and I gradually forgot about it. Recently I reviewed bank transaction and found I have been charged membership fee as usual since June 2020 as well as annual membership renew fee in October 2020! They are non-negotiable for my request for refund. I did not realise the membership subscription was automatically re-started since June 2020 after covid lockdown. Sadly the only notification for membership restart was sent via an email in June 2020. It is tricky the membership restart was memtioned at the end of the advertisement-like long email message rather than in prominent position. Unluckily I ignored the email. In addition, there was NO notification not even an email for anual membship renewal in October 2020. By the way, their membership fee is not expensive but it was very crowded during peak-hour. As far i can remmeber in year 2019, I usually entered gym at 5:40 pm and queued for average 10-20 minutes for using treadmill. The dumbell area is especially crowded. The main reason I chosed this gym is because it's 3 minutes to my workplace. I have requested to cancel my membership and in future I would rather to spend little extra money for other Gym in CBD.

TERRIBLE - no respect for members. I’ve been a long-time member and tolerated mediocre service on the basis of utilising decent equipment for a low price. I recently tried to cancel my membership due to a change of location/circumstance. Being unable to get to a Crunch gym to complete a paper form, I asked if it was possible to do it via email or phone (surely, in this day and age...?). This was sternly refused, as “it’s in your contract that you have to come in to a gym to cancel”. When asked if they thought this was reasonable, I got “it’s the way it is in your contract and we need to be able to get feedback on why your cancelling”. I find this nonsensical response/stance incredibly disrespectful and short-sighted in a time where there are so many great gyms popping up that really do care about their members. Maybe a more appropriate slogan would be “NO RESPECT”.

They hide all the information you need to know about membership fees and charges. They have so many hidden charges. Crunch gym is running a dodgy and fraud business.

Visited Crunch Fitness Sydney CBD regarding issues with my membership and had the most unpleasant, unprofessional and disrespectful experience with the Club Manager - Andrew Paduano. Would not recommend any sort of customer service of interaction with Andrew as he refuses to take anything you say into consideration or understand your situation. Will be reporting this with Crunch Fitness Head Office.

No one answers the phone or replies to your emails, I specifically responded to the email crunch sent out inregards to having a pause on my membership due to vaccination status. As per their request this was to be done by 12th of October. I asked for an email inreturn to to clarify. No response. Does not pick up the phone, yet still takes out the MONEY.

Pros: Gym is quite cheap, convenient location if you work in the area. Cons: staff is not very nice. Showers and changing rooms are quite dirty. Classes at lunch time are always too full to be enjoyable. They made few mistakes for my membership and I had to remind them several times to get it fixed. They also told me things that were not true to make me sign up. I think they are hired very young inexperience people and I'm quite surprised a brand like Crunch has so many bad reviews and no one from management is taking actions.

For me, this is the best gym in Sydney! Located at the heart of central business district, five minutes’ walk from town hall station. This place is where you can get the best value for your money. I enjoyed attending classes here as the staff and members are friendly and classes are open for beginners and regulars alike. It gets busy during peak hours, usually 5PM to 7PM on weekdays, but offers tons of equipment and activities. I personally enjoy Kick Boxing, Zuu, Yoga, Pilates, Strong by Zumba and heaps of group classes. They also have rows of cardio machine like treadmills, rowing machine, stationary bikes among other things. There’s also a wide range of personal trainers to choose from. From beginner training, functional training, recovering sports injuries, self-defence to training athletes, their trainers are more than happy to help you with your fitness goals. Place is kept clean and orderly and the lockers are cleared out daily. They also have awesome post workout facilities like showers, sauna and a massage machine. It is truly a place where everyone can have their own personal fitness goals and work out to achieve it with no judgements. Keep up the great work Crunch! Cheers!

I am really disappointed with Crunch. I had Medical condition which prevented me from any activites at gym for current time.  I tried to put my membership on hold but you asked me to upgrade my membership contract and pay $200 extra in order to be able to suspend my membership!! That's not fair!

BAD & RUDE SERVICE - no respect for members. I’ve been a short time member and tolerated mediocre service on the basis of utilising decent equipment for a low price. I am a backpacker and travel on a monthly basis, so I had a contract for 6 weeks, which should then expire. In the end, I was charged an additional money for the termination. Nobody told me before of this!

It's OK. If yiu want a gym with no rules, this is it. Gives Crunch org a bad name. Bigger than the local Plus fitness and only $10/wk. Needs doubles of popular machines. Staff never visit the floor, therefore people training without towels or wipping down equipment. Weights are not put back and staff never reorder or clean up weights. Some training barefoot or in socks. Be interested to see who will win the lawsuit when injuries occur. Also some strange characters prancing around, yelling and doing random martial arts moves. You get what you pay for.

I was going to give the place a go but reading some of the reviews from current members I'm going to steer clear. Sorry Crunch, looks like you're not for me.

Used to be a great gym, until instructors with no customer service skills started doubling as support staff. All the good instructors have gone and replaced with sub-standard instructors. Some classes were never replaced after the instructor left, or replaced by a completely different class.

I have arrived 2 minutes late for a class and at the reception the girl told me I could be ammitted because too late!!! Now, I understand it's after the class started but 2 minutes is ridiculous. I'm doing yoga here for 2 months now and I have always seen people come in class later even half an hour! I pay every week for this, doesn't make any sense!!!

My favourite gym - have been going for 3 years and I tried another gym due to change of work location for one day and came back the next day. It's quiet most of the time and equipment to me is more ergonomic than the modern stuff at Virgin. I'm paying literally 15% of the Virgin price. I used to go here 12 yrs ago when it was V club and not much has changed. Also hardly any sleazy guys here - just people with similar minds doing their own thing. Value for money is insane if you ask about all types of plans that suits you.

I was a member there for close to 8 or 9 years and I can say its an absolute disgrace of a gym. New staff at crunch mortdale are like prison guards. General manager David cancelled my membership because I refused to buy a new card as I left it at home. If you forget your card they will make you purchase a new one. Their machines are always out of service and they only have one of each different machines.

Really good value for the price! Gym with lots of equipment, dedicated yoga studio and classes areas. The staff is friendly, it can be packed during peak hours but you always feel considered as a unique member. I used to attend classes and the instructors are all experts in their discipline, it was always a good time to work out there!

Pretty Classless act, show up to begin my 3 day free trial as I am here for 6 months, gentleman at the front helps sign me in and takes down my information, girl manager comes in and kicks me and my brother out because we are not permanent residences (again, here for 6 months). All while it being the holiday season! certainly do not recommend to anyone.

Okyish gym if you can workout outside busy period (5-7pm and 6-8am). During peak time, be prepared to share equipment with other members.

This is literally the cheapest gym membership you will find in Sydney. The gym floor and equipment is decent but I mainly signed up for the classes, which are excellent! They have so many different classes running every day and a lot of amazing instructors who are enthusiastic and helpful, and make me genuinely excited to come to class. Valentina is my absolutely favourite - catch her Zumba classes on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning!!

Ive been coming to this gym around a year now and i love it. Super friendly reception staff and great trainers and classes. Girls changing rooms are well equipped and not overcrowded, have never had to queue for a shower. Great value for money, wont find a better deal anywhere else.

from the first day I registered as a member, there was never an auto debit payment because their system didn't run smoothly, so I had to debit manually. And at one point I told them this was my last day as a member and I didn't want to continue. and the staff said "okay I will cancel your member today and you will be charged for the next week because this includes the following week" and I agree. when they want to debit the payment for next week it happens again with the same thing as before, their auto debit system doesn't run smoothly so they don't turn off my member. and I thought last week what I told the staff was the day I stopped being a member. and they didn't tell me that they didn't cancel my member, just because their system didn't work well and couldn't debit the last transaction! so I was billed for the next 6 weeks! and when I came to ask about it , they told me to pay in full . I can not imagine !! their system has an error because they can't debit but I have to pay for the 6 weeks I've seen previous reviews, some people have problems when they cancel as members too

Great gym. Good central location (close to Town Hall Train station) with loads of classes on all day. Open weekends for those who can make it in the week and all the staff are really friendly. All the kit I've used has been well maintained and is easy to use. The changing facilities are large with showers and a sauna too. Can't comment on the PT sessions but they appear popular. Even at busy times, there is usually equipment free. For the price, you can't complain!

Good location, good membership price but very packed (it's CBD so can't be helped) but I can never find the right ropes, bars or ankle cuffs for the machines. Great for those who like waiting for benches and racks.

The worse gym. I joined when they offering zero enrolment fee after a week they charge me $90 extra . I talked to different staff and each explain a some reason/story. Even at last they said we did a mistake and we will return your money I didnt get any money even I did official legal act. the equipment is so limited and level 2 is so smelly.never recommend and tell everyone to not trust zero enrolment fee.

Membership here is fantastic value for money, it's a convenient location, and the group classes are really well run - all the instructors are energetic and motivating. The weights section is too crowded so I don't use that area often.
