Recently used the Amex business lounge in Sydney International Airport. My family and I were extremely excited about going to the lounge and using the services prior to flying -being a recent platinum business card member. This had to be one of the worst lounges in the world I have seen. The staff were EXTREMELY rude, we were there for no more than 2 hours when the manager of the lounge asked us "how long we have been here" and said "we should leave" You would think spending 100k per year on your AMEX card would grant a better service. If I could rate this lounge a zero, I would. You are better off going to the food court, we they serve better food, better drinks and will 100% have NICER STAFF. I will no doubt cancel this card.

Pros Nicer setup then previous lounge. Great interior design. Comfortable seats. Better range of food on the buffet which are healthy and delicious compared to previous. They have Halal options which is an upgrade from before. Friendly manager and cleaning staff. Courteous and service with a smile, that helps to tone down nervous passengers. Cons Location isn't as good/strategic as previous lounge as its towards the far few gates, 50 and above I think. Staff at buffet/kitchen should be well informed about types of food what they serve. Once asked the kitchen staff is the food halal, and they said I don't think so to my wife. I then asked the manager as I wasn't happy and he reassured me it is. Staff seeming to be junior but didn't have the effort to enquire since he wasn't sure. Clientele of Amex aren't your usual ones so best to keep staff up to date even if they are junior, learning on the job should be commanded. Recommendations To have some international instrumental music playing in sound systems if have. To trial non allergic scent via diffuser or similar concept. To look into small play area for children or some form or VR or kids show on TV with small designated areas for them to watch in a corner.

Not worth visiting. Food selection poor and overrun with children in the AM. Staff wearing masks on their chin is a real unprofessional and shabby look. Barista rudely shouted ‘NO’ when asked if there were dairy free milk options available. I took out a platinum card for travel benefits and was disappointed with this experience.

Shocking lounge, definitely not worth it. You’re better off paying for entry somewhere else. They completely ran out of most of the food and drinks. First we were told we had to wait 30 minutes to get in then we were told the bar was closed because glasses had to be cleaned. Then we turned up at the bar and there was literally NO beer or cider left and they didn’t know when/if it would be stocked. The pizza also kept running out and the pancake machine was broken. The only good thing was the free Aperol spritz.

Extremely disappointing, severely understaffed (at 8am, peak breakfast time). Cutlery were dirty, no forks available, had to wait 30 minutes for a coffee (they had no cups left). No hall staff were present to collect dirty plates and clean tables. This meant there weren't many places to sit down and eat. Food choices were limited, taste was underwhelming. Staff were generally unhelpful as they were too occupied and understaffed (i.e. asked for a fork, and they would tell me to ask someone else - no one could provide me a fork). The only views from the lounge: gate 57 and a loading dock. Amex really need to step up the service and quality of the Sydney Centurion lounge.

Generally an over glorified canteen. Moderately dirty, quite inconvenient, you would need to hunt down someone to clean the table for you. Food is generally tasteless, but edible, selection is very limited. Say, if you are vegetarian, only noodles for you. Alcohol selection is very limited, except for the beers. Staff is unhappy to be there and makes sure you know it. Not worth the hassle.

Without a doubt the worst lounge experience I’ve encountered. Drinks are capped by the hour so if a table in front of you caps out the champagne, bad luck for you. Food is cold, service is rude and tables aren’t cleared. Do yourself a favour and check into the Qantas lounge instead.

Truly terrible place no point to open! Left Syd in April and can see recent reviews reflect how bad it is . Waste of time absolute shocking for premium brand . I'd be embarrassed to work for AMEX and visit this lounge. Suggest you use priority pass and use ither lounge access than step foot in amex lounge Syd

Mid at best, the old lounge used to be classy and comfortable. The new lounge is hidden underground where the reception and waitresses have merged into one - it feels like a food court with tons of people stuffed inside trying to feast on the instant eggs they like to call scrambled. The quality of the lounge is absolutely embarrassing.

Have visited numerous AMEX Centurion Lounges along with other airline ones. This one in Sydney was a little disappointing. I’d gone on line first to check out the menu and was thrilled to Khang Ong had designed the menu including drinks. I made a note to order two of his signature dishes. Alas, when I arrived the place was almost empty. The food was in warming trays and consisted of carbonara, chicken wings, noodles, vegetable curry or rice. Plus the usual cheeses and cut fruit. I asked at the bar for Khang’s special G&T but alas, no gin! Okay how amount a vodka lime and lemon. Nope - no limes. Somewhat despondent, I had a glass of white wine. The staff are helpful and even delivered my wine to the table. Nice touch. The “elevator music” becomes somewhat tedious. Toilets and showers beautifully clean. Disabled toilets available. Spacious lounge areas and the usual free wifi. Located on the lower floor in Terminal 1, check your times on the digital monitor for flight times and how long it takes you to get to your gate.

The lounge decor is great but the service isn’t on par. There is no hot food buffet until 6 pm and that was confusing as you can order one meal per visit only a la cart at this lounge. The shower area is basically like toilet no toiletry. Probably one of the low ranking for all Amex lounges I’ve been to

Would put 0 starts if I could....absolutely shocking. No food, no clean tables, toilets in a horrific state. This was probably the worst lounge visit I have ever had! Avoid at all cost.

Noisy, chaotic, lack of food and drinks. I understand staff shortages but good staff were cleaning up at 7pm! Bar had run out of all beers bar 2 and many other things not available. The guy Asian working the bar was trying very hard with huge queues. The noise of kids that parents weren’t managing was unbearable. It was quieter in the food court! There needs to be a limit on numbers when staffing and supplies are low. There should be a minimum age if children are allowed and there definitely needs to be someone to have a quiet word with those screaming people across the room. Scarce amount if food, pancake machine not operating, showers not operating, soft drink not operating. I thought this had been done up? Previously I’d found the lounge a place for quiet relax. Time for food and drinks but today was more like a canteen where they’d run out of everything.

Absolute Gem, Excited to visit lounge after covid. What an absolute pleasure to use it after so long. - comfortable seats, good and healthy selection of food. - Served buffet with beautiful staff. - I most admire Chef Sanju for her excellence service, although they were absolute busy because of high volume people ( Easter holiday Choas). Totally taken care of my requirement by her (vegan, gluten free) - Staff at the bar and front desk can be little more professional and polite. -bathroom cleanliness might be more better. Other than that, was pleasant stay.

The lounge is pleasant enough. The food choices are limited compared to Centurion lounges. However the bar is quite impressive. The space is comfortable with plenty of power outlets. The views outside are quite limited. I prefer the New Zealand air lounge upstairs followed by the Singapore Air lounge next door to it. But this is not a bad choice.

At 1pm the lounge had run out of sparkling wine, white wine, two of the three beers, coffee (apparently the machine is “broken”), coke, lemonade, tall glasses and crackers for the cheese. Front desk staff was incredibly rude. Avoid.

Pretty poor form to call this a substantial lounge experience. First of all, let's start with the fact that the lounge is on the bottom floor, which when staring out at the foggy windows, you can barely take in that airport view. The expereience felt like i was in a bunker more then a lounge. Secondly, the food & drinks. Well, not much to really review as there was little options to choose from. In comparison to other airline lounges (Qantas) the options for food and drink service is limited. Can't really comment on the taste of the food as it's just average. Thirdly, the fitout, this is where i will credit and acknowledge the great job they did with the fit out. Beautifully designed, great lighting, and comfortable seating with careful consideration of seat placement. Overall, a below average experience.

AMEX lounge Sydney airport: Not sure what happened but the quality of food and choices have declined ever since they moved to the new refurbished area, and it's much worse since the pandemic reopening. Not much hot food choices available and they are always empty, lacking in taste and quality and the same menu over and over. The previous lounge though much smaller in area size had way better food and drinks options. Please bring that back and the sparkling water bottle options.

American express lounge available to those with certain Amex cards. It wasn't too busy when I visited, plenty of seating available and was comfortable. 90% of seats have a power outlet available along with space for hand luggage, I do appreciate the availability. The self service beverage station with soft drinks and water. Alcoholic drinks, coffee and tea are also available for order. Staff were extremely friendly and the lounge was kept clean. Toilets were quite clean and there's also shower facilities available in the lounge. Food was pretty average with a small selection available during breakfast and lunch.

Happy to have this Centurion Lounge located near gates 53- so leave yourself plenty of time if you are boarding at a Qantas gate usually single digits. Food and beverage is available. Very scant menu food nevertheless. Beer, alcohol, wine, and a coffee machine in the restaurant. Water on tap. Friendly employees. Plenty of seating. Really needed a shower and for the hour I was there they were never available. Pity as that is a true benefit. Again- not my favorite lounge- but grateful none the less!

Good lounge. Wasn't as crowded as other reviews suggested on our day. Was close to our 50+ gate number. A selection of about 4 cold and 6 hot foods - kids really enjoyed variety compared to Qantas club. Sparking water tap to fill bottles.

Great food and even better staff! I am impressed with both the kindness and professionalism displayed by the staff. I had a concern regarding my baggage and as soon as I presented the problem to them they directed all their attention on helping me. True professionals, cheers to William and his lovely co-workers!

Clean, spacious, good selection of food and drinks and great customer service! I had issues with my lounge pass this morning 28/10/22 and the team was very accomodating especially when I had two hours to wait for my flight! Thank you American Express Sydney Lounge team I will definitely be back!

Located close to Delta and United Airlines departure gates. Hence a great location. Visited on Tuesday AM when there was a Delta, United and AA Qantas departures. Lounge was decently big and was not too crowded. Nice continental breakfast with great selection of food. Tea, Coffee and alcohol are manned stations. Complimentary wifi.

The lounge was nice and quiet when we arrived in the afternoon. They’ve just finished serving lunch but ordered certain dishes ala carte, which were delicious. There were a few tables that haven’t been tidied when we got there but they started clearing it up not long after.

Hot cooked Brekky, pastries and cold food. Barista coffee and bar. A bit of a walk from Qantas gates so give yourself a bit of time if departing from Qantas. Clean and ample seating when we were here
