After a lot of research and a call with the hotel I booked it. Main requirements were it be extremely clean, we need able to cook proper meals and that there be a smart TV we could log into our streaming accounts to avoid streaming or similar. I was assured that both requirements would be fully met. Checked in today to a two bedroom apartment - it is filthy. Mould in the bathrooms; built up food residue around the base of the fridge. requested house keeping come and clean it - they still haven’t 4 1/2 hours later. The TVs weren’t working and after 4 1/2 hours someone finally came to the room to fix the TVs and advised you need to stream from your phone. Needless to say with internet in Sydney being what it is / streaming doesn’t work. from your phone. There is one fry pan to cook with; that’s it. No cleaning products . Would move out except we are moving interstate; COVID and they won’t give us a refund. I would only recommend staying here if you are extremely desperate

Staff were friendly polite and professional, the hotel was clean and fancy elevators which took a bit to work out how to use. No internal buttons just swipe card and it takes you to your floor. Room was clean and spacious, bed soft with plenty of pillows, and a mirror on ceiling above bed.... shower had plenty of pressure and got hot. Location was great, right next to George St so light rail close by, plenty of food locations in all directions. Perfect spot for those looking at staying and walking.

The location was perfect for me, right near Darling Harbour, just a short walk to the QVB and the light rail stop into the city to see the sites. It is really terrific value for money and I am very impressed with the good layout of the room. The well-equipped kitchenette and washer and dryer. All equipment was clean and new . It is evident the one who had designed and equipped the kitchen was a decent cook Stayed for a month, never felt like a hotel, Rooms were spacious, modern, large, clean and fresh. The bed was super comfortable The location was perfect with many restaurants available within a short walk. My plans changed at short notice because of the business meets in Melbourne, meaning had to extend our time in the city. Explained about situation, and was accommodated with no fuss. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy in every part we saw. My room was great, very spacious, clean, everything I needed was available, and nothing seemed too much trouble for the friendly staff, It was one of the rare times that I took the trouble to empty out my suitcase (instead of living out of it). The room is well appointed. Some additional amenities were available upon request. Lovely pool and Spa just need Spa to be a bit hotter

the room is great, beautiful and spacious but the cleanliness is simply disgusting. the bathrooms were dirty, the kitchen cabinets and stove were dirty and the windows and mirrors were filthy, they even had fingerprints on them. unfortunately it is not the type of cleanliness I expected from a hotel like this.

Overall the room I was in was cool, with a very nice view, a small balcony and all the appiances you may need. The position Is central and you can easily reach the most turistic sites in 20 minutes walking or get the train in front of the building. The problems are 2: the cleaning and the area in general. So in terms of the first: I stayed there for 2 months for work, and the room was cleaned only once a week even of by phone when booking they told me they could have cleaned it more often. In addition It was not actually cleaned properly and even if I complained multiple times it was useless. The area in which the hotel is, is central but it's not the nicest. It is not the cleanest, there are many homeless people and there are some strange people. In addition the room was pretty expensive and I don't think It was worth the price paid

Great in-room amenities. I love the fact that the appliances are what you would expect of serviced apartments, and it was very convenient to get the dishes done and cook during our stay. The view was also great. Really enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed at the Penthouse for two nights , the view and location is amazing and nothing to complain about. Kids love and enjoy so much. However there is a big space to improve on the service plus equipment and the cleanse in the room. On arrival we stored our luggage in the morning and back to the hotel around 2pm but we only got our room after 3pm. When the check-in time suppose to be 3pm. When we entered the room we and the overseas guest were in love with the view and how much space we have. Then we found tissues on the stairs and carpet isn't vacuumed. Only one bathrobe was hanging up as the other five were inside the dryer. The bathroom on the bedroom level once you close you couldn't open it from inside. When checked in the lady advised they need to charge $2000 bond for penthouse which we understand and knew prior. She said they will need to include the credit card surcharge in the bond but will refunded in full after check out. When check out the gentleman advised all is good the bond refund will be processed in the end of the day and 3-4 working days to my account. But they only returned $2000 didn't include the credit card surcharge. When I called the hotel they said AMEX surcharge won't be returned, then why it is not mentioned when we check in!!!! It's $35 but the point is why I need to pay the surcharge!!!!!! It is a great and convenient location but be careful on the other things.

The room is spacious and clean, with a well-equipped kitchenette and washing machine. Can see the sunset from the room. Staff are nice. Excellent location with many shops and restaurants near-by. Just 5-minute walk from the train station

Amazing views, great location comfy beds in the modern 1 bedroom apartment. Half of the receptions staff are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome. We properly wouldn’t stay again as there is a massive issue with the lifts meaning every time we left the hotel or wanted to return we would need to wait 20mins to get a lift to our floor. There were also a few staff members that are pretty rude and don’t even say hello or acknowledge the guests. Such a shame

Stayed in penthouse suite for one night. All amenities provided were exceptional. Utensils fully stocked and clean condition! Could have stayed for a week. Even better than the stay was the exceptional service provided by Jacqueline! What a superstar, such a lovely lady and deserves 5 stars herself, very helpful with information and assistance.

great location, good service. TERRIBLE wifi, constantly out, having to hotspot for the whole trip. Leaking sewage from outside shower drain. Same with the laundry machine, was told it’s normal. Also the spa is a bit gross…

Probably the best hotel we have been in sydney. The view of the city is magnificent from our room. Location is perfect and convenient to go anywhere. The room and facilities match their 5 stars hotel standard, luxury and comfortable furniture and the kitchen also very nice it has coffee machine which has my fav ! Definitely staying here again the future

We arrived at 7pm and once we got to our room, we found it had a smell coming from the laundry (smelt like something died in there). There was also a large deep hole in the middle of the bathroom with no cover (big enough for a 2 year olds' foot to fit). We rang reception and they said they'd send someone up to help fix the issues. 30 minutes and 2 calls later, we said perhaps we should move rooms. Not their fault but our toddler was getting grumpy and needed to sleep and we were keen to sort the issue. The next room had panels falling off in the kitchen and no shower. We were told it was their last room. We asked to speak to someone senior for a resolution, but we're told wed have to wait for Monday morning (arrived Friday night). The staff seemed young, overloaded with issues, and stressed. We decided to leave. It was stressful trying to find somewhere at short notice on a Friday night (plug for Skye Suites - they have been amazing). The place had a really bad feel despite a reasonable google rating. Good point - location is great. Recommend caution.

Couldn't be happier with this hotel. I've stayed here a few times and find the value to be exceptional. On this occasion, as every one in the past, it was great service and a lovely room. Hard to fault

We were a bit disappointed with our stay. On arrival the staff were cold and disinterested. The room was nothing like the photos and was pokey and small (for $325 per night it should have been much better). There was no bin for rubbish in the kitchenette, not even a bag. There was not enough coffee pods for 2 people for 2 nights. There wasn't enough cutlery. The bed was very comfy though, so that was their saving grace.

Had a great time. Booking was easy. Price was great. Apartment was perfect. Everything went very well. The missing star is because of the parking. It is very difficult. Was not told via anything in bookings or otherwise how complex it would be due to the different location of the entrance and the one way streets in the city.

We choose to stay at higher level to get a better view and the result we got a very nice apartment with amazing view. The apartment was spotlessly clean. Kitchen well equipped including full size fridge. All utensils seems new for me. Washer and dryer were provided together with liquid detergents. The beds and pillows were very comfy. If you need more Coffee, tea, sugar even salt and pepper , just called receptionist they will happily to provide more. Rice cooker can be provided upon request. Arrival lounge can be used after check in , while waiting for the room to be prepared. Thank you for Ms. Rita, Ms. Ana, Night manager Mr Sagar and all person who work at this apartment. Thank you for giving us such a lovely holiday.

Amazing place to stay in Sydney. Stayed three nights for vacation with family. Tidy, nice rooms with all equipment we needed. Needless to speak, the view from the balcony is perfect, esp at the sunset time! Thanks for the great service!!!

We stayed 6 nights in a 1bedroom altitude apartment which was spacious, very clean and well equipped. Location is great, close to 2 train stations, LR stop around the corner and bus stop not very far. All staff we encountered we friendly and obliging. Loved the lifts, we never had to wait moe than a couple of minutes for one. Lovely pool even though too cold and spa on 15 th floor.

Very disappointed with our recent stay. Three of us all booked the same rooms. We did not get the same rooms even though we paid the same amount our room was tiny in comparison.tried to discuss with the front desk they were going to call me back during our stay but never did. The window didn’t seal properly it was freezing in our room. Could barely open the shower screen door because it was so close the toilet had to squeeze in there. The whole passage smelt of cigarette smoke. The only good thing was the location.

I have stayed at a few of the Meriton locations within Sydney and this one was not the best one I have stayed in. The location and service was good but the room we had wasn’t the best considering this is classed at a 5 star hotel. The room was clean but quite outdated. There were cracks in the tiles in the bathroom. For the price, I would have expected the room to look a bit nicer and more looked after. Overall, I do like this place but feel that the room needs some work.

Stayed at the meriton Kent street for a week for my 30th birthday after staying at the Sussex st one with work. Location was awesome, unfortunately our room was not, we stayed in the studio suite with a balcony. On arrival staff were friendly and there was a bottle of wine and card left in the room to wish me a happy birthday which was a lovely touch. As we settled in we struggled with the chromecast, called staff to see if we could get help, the house keeping manager Amit was lovely and spent 2hrs going back and forwards trying to connect us unfortunately no luck so no chromecast/tv for the whole stay, there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom on arrival ehich I'm assuming was just stagnant water in the drains but still off putting but for our first night I think the final straw was getting into bed after just wanting to settle in and watch a movie after a flight and finding blood stains all over the duvet and some sort of blood bogey on the curtain as I closed them, Rung reception and asked for a replacement duvet. 20mins later and still nothing, it's now after midnight and we are exhausted and want to sleep so I go down in my pjs to the lobby to be told that someone will come up to our room and we would be given a 10% discount and the chromecast for the remainder if our trip would be sorted. The lovely amit brought us a new duvet and we changed it ourselves as we wanted to check the linen was fresh then finally slept at about 2am. The whole week the chromecast issue was ignored and I asked staff constantly about getting a replacement chromecast- that never happened but was left a bottle of red wine and told we would have a vip cleaning sweep done. We were out most days and are pretty tidy ourselves but would have appreciated the use of our chromecast and tv at night. Upon check out I queried the 10% discount that was promised and was told it was only for the 1 night.dissapointing as the tv and chromecast didnt work for the entire trip and I was constantly ignored when I rung about it. Stayed at meriton suites sussex street prior and had no issues whatsoever with chromecast etc So come on Kent street, step up or dont advertise comfortable and clean rooms with wifi and chromecast.wish we had just stayed at sussex street meriton.I now know for next time!

I stayed here from 16 to 21 November. The location was ideal and the reservation price was reasonable. We had a Darling Harbour view apartment. The staff provided us with excellent service from reception, room service and house keeping. I would like to thank Courtney and her manager for assisting us with an issue early on during our stay. However, I would like to bring to managements attention that they need to upgrade their amenities and also work on the cleanliness of the rooms. I found the bathroom was a bit mouldy, the dishwasher didn’t work and there was a used face towel under the bed left behind by previous tenants. The bed creaked each time you would move slightly or turn. Parking should be cheaper if you’re a guest. Also the wait times for the lift were a bit ridiculous with the lift allocation system. Overall however the whole experience and stay at Meriton suites Kent street was lovely and we gave it a higher rating mostly because of the service we received.

The service is horrible, the room service is always missed during our 4-weeks stay here. There is no room attendant at the evening and the attendant always miss some service like emptying the rubbish bin. The attendant will not clean the dishes for you and front desk staff will ask you to wash your dishes and clean your bin by yourself with a really rude attitude. Basic amenities are not provided such as toothpaste and cotton swab. When you request for amenity, they just put it outside your room and not willing to wait for 10 seconds. The room and furniture are old and weary, most of the electrical appliances cannot function, e.g. the dryer never stop according to the time set, it runs forever. The hygiene and cleanliness of the room is terrible, there is blood stain on the bed sheet and some small insects in the bathroom. This is the worst hotel that I have ever lived in.

  • 5/5 Norman O. 7 months ago on Google
Central location, 10 minutes walk to Darling Harbour, 3 minutes to Chinatown. Coffee shops and eateries abound within a few short steps. Be prepared for the buttonless elevator system, scan your room card and it tells you which lift to wait for and which floor you are going. I met a few people who jumped in the first lift to open and end up in the basement rather than thier room. Bed and pillows were not too hard , not too soft Good water pressure and plenty of hot if you want.

Great location. Nice rooms. However they didn't service the room once in the four days we were there. No clean towels. No fresh linen. Nothing.

  • 5/5 Wayne M. 5 months ago on Google
Great location , good rooms & the staff were all approachable with our housekeeping requests were dealt with quickly. Not sure why people are mentioning slow lifts as there were no issues at all while we were there over 4 days . The only minor negative was lack of a mop/ broom to tidy up during our stay. We will be staying again when we head back to Sydney.

We were very disappointed with our accomodation. On arrival the staff were cold and disinterested. The room was nothing like the photos. As soon as we walked in, there was a nasty smell and it was quite dirty and dated. We were also situated looking directly at the services. When we requested to move to a room on a higher floor so that we could actually use the balcony we were ignored and given another room on the same level. The only positive was the hotels location. This is not the luxury accomodation they advertise

Meriton on Kent is definitely one of the more memorable apartments i’ve stayed at. The lobby is spacious and welcoming and staff attended to my needs as soon as I walked in. I was able to check in quickly as well which is always nice. The highlight during my stay was definitely the amazing view I had. I don’t remember what level I stayed on but it was around the 20-25s which speaks volumes on how beautiful the city view is when viewed from this apartment. The location was perfect as well, being a minute walk away from George street which was where all the fun and noise were at. Will be making a return in January 2024 so definitely looking forward to staying here again!

The location is great, close to the ICC and darling harbour. Service was fine. The rooms were older and dirty - please see attached the sink when I arrived to the hotel as one example with hair and dirt in it. Additionally, both myself and the other members of the group who were in a seperate studio had bugs in the bathrooms. I would not choose to stay here again.

Excellent service by Mr. Darren Ross and the team for assisting us during our stay. The apartment is well located with many shops, F&B, malls around nearby. Short walking distance to transportation. Would consider returning here again. Giving 4* because of covid restrictions, the apartment is only able to provide housekeeping services once a week.

We really enjoyed our stay over the weekend . When I arrived late in the evening to check in there was a miscommunication with the room I booked , the staff and management were very helpful and had the issue sorted very quickly . The staff are all friendly, polite and professional. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with fantastic views over the city. We had a fantastic time and look forward to staying again next time we are in Sydney.

Loved the stay here (01Jan-05JAN) Felt safe , comfortable & welcomed :) Reception can sometimes get busy but they are very accommodating , respectful , friendly and patient. The rooms were of good size and loved the view from the altitude 1 bedroom apartment on L46 :) Missing a star because I wasn’t informed that room service is done only if we stay 7days. This is due to Covid Precautions I completely understand , however would be nice if you could specify that on the website or while guest is checking-in. No complaints , I had a wonderful stay and had booked it for my birthday staycation which went really well and I will surely be back. Rooms: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 ( best staff ever) Safety: 10/10 Recommend: YES ! Specially the altitude appartments ! To the manager: You’re lucky to have wonderful staff at the place especially Reception staffs :)

Not properly cleaned, found grime, dirt and hair on aircon remote, TV remote didn't work properly, kitchen a bit dated. Also, reception gave false information that room had a view of harbour when it didn't. However, cleaners addresed our complaints asap, also had good size and spacious room, easy walk within the city, pool quite okay. Overall, it wasnt too bad, just not as clean.

I have stay at the Meriton many times and alway's enjoyed our stay but next time we will find somewhere else to stay... no toilet paper when we arrived.. bathroom had hair everywhere and mould in the shower tiles. We weren't told that there wasn't any express service so we had to ask for towels.

We loved our stay here. Stayed 2 nights for a wedding and everything was superb. The location was excellent as it was only a 5 min walk to the station. Shout out to the front desk manager Darren who accommodated all our requests and allowed us to check in early. Talk about quality customer service! The kitchenette and laundry was also a great addition. Overall we had a fabulous stay and would love to come back again in the future!

Location and view is great but that’s about it. The elevators took ages. Not enough and not fast enough to support a 56 level building. Room was not ready by 3pm and we weren’t given any compensation. Had to still check out at 10 am. They said they did additional checks on the room to ensure it’s up to standard but the bin was not emptied.

The building has 56 floors and I stayed at 51st floor. The view from the balcony was epic and the room was also very clean. Drinking water was not that great but the ambiance was so good. I would recommend people to book the room at least 2 months before to get the top floor.

The view is almost enough to make you forget that the housekeeper didn't come by. The rooms were spacious and the staff were very friendly. Complementary hire of a GHD straightener also meant my hair was smoother than ever. Would recommend.

Was excellent, suite was better than I was expecting.staff were lovely and very professional.everything was clean. Very central for our needs. Towels were a bit old but worked. But other than that no complaints. But staff made our stay start off on the right foot- a smiley face and very helpful really makes a good impression. Price was good . We stayed in 1 bedroom suite on 22floor and the lifts were excellent. We didn't have to wait any time we came or went. We would definately stay here again.

Two night stay in a 2 bedroom unit. Perfect for the family. The location is great with Mertion Precinct below and Regent Place and World Square so close there is no shortage of food. The rooms have everything you need and the pool and spa are also great. The staff / service was excellent.

Stayed in the penthouse on the top floor of the hotel. It was 3 levels and spacious. We had Balmain brand sample size bottles for the bathroom. Coffee machine available, comfortable beds, four bathrooms, three rooms and nice view. Would recommend

The room we stayed in was nice and big for a family of four. The appliances are outdated and needs an upgrade. We stayed on the 48th floor but it was extremely noisy. The view was OK from there. The windows did not close properly so you got quite alto of noise from the city streets. The pool area was great, however the Jacuzzi was not warm at all. Overall it was good. Value for money i would say 6 out of 10.

Wonderful place to stay. The room was big and spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Room comes with a fridge, washer cum dryer, a sink and a cooking area. Cooking utensils and cutlery are all provided. For the washer, the hotel kindly provided a tube of liquid detergent as well for you to wash your clothes. Coming from Singapore, we use a 3 pin socket which was incompatible with the 2 pin Australian one. The hotel very kindly purchased a brand new one for us to use in the room. Outstanding service! 10/10 would stay again in the future.

Good quality hotel with very friendly staff. $50 overnight parking which is good when compared to other places. Great location with heaps of nice food and fun things to do. Stayed here with a family of 4 including 2 young kids. Will definitely stay here again. Very clean too with a nice indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna. Nice views and very comfortable beds.

As advertised. I stay at the meriton for business and for pleasure. I find the location convenient, the one bedroom suits perfect for doing business and relaxing with a bit more than enough space. For a purpose built building the room sizes and shapes are odd, the furniture and colours are bland and designed for purpose not comfort or beauty . With the exception of the beds which are very comfortable. Reservations are generally good value when booked ahead.

checked in on 22 october (and checked out 24 october) for my birthday! amazing location and the staff were incredible. was greeted by a man (i have forgotten his name) but he welcomed me and the check in process was fast and easy (i checked in around maybe 5:30-6:30pm). elevators were simple to use and made this stay quite enjoyable. the room was clean, big, and had everything we needed (kitchen was i think fully equipped!). there was a little birthday card on the table that really made my stay. it’s been about a fortnight and i can’t forget how wonderfully this weekend went. location was great, room was great, stay went flawlessly, and the staff were patient and welcoming. definitely coming again!

Have stayed here a few times & always is great. Parking is also so easy! I especially enjoyed this weekends stay. When checking in I was dealing with Junior & he couldn’t be any more amazing. So friendly, accommodating & gave me a bottle of champagne for my birthday. Thank you!

What a great stay! The room was well presented, clean and welcoming. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the small details just were missed. Despite arriving a few hours after Check In Time, our room wasn’t ready. The arrivals lounge wasn’t accessible and it would have been so good to see Doorman and BellBoys welcoming guests on arrival. The rooms seems designed for seasoned travelers though missing the extra little details; instructions for using the various appliances, lifts, and a few more options on rooms and beds. We enjoyed our stay, and loved the flexibility of the kitchenette, pool and facilities.
