The management of the hotel would be wise to refer to Grand Hotel Palace as 4 stars instead of 5 stars from now on. That would be more in balance with the service provided. From a 5 star hotel you expect the staff to go above and beyond to make your stay an unforgettable one. At Grand Hotel Palace this is definitely not the case. In advance we had read in the description that there was a swimming pool with pool service, there was also a well-regarded restaurant and a number of bicycles were available so that you did not have to walk all the way to the center of Marsala. On arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed and no, we could also forget about a snack at the pool or in the room. If we wanted a drink by the pool we had to bring it ourselves from the bar. To top it all off, the bicycles also turned out to have been "stolen", so we could forget about those too. Well, there you are, at the counter of a so-called 5 star hotel and even if those bicycles were really stolen, then as a 5 star hotel you would move heaven and earth to ensure that replacement bicycles (borrowed from a local bicycle dealer) where available the same day and no, they couldn't help us with renting a bike from a local rental company either. As said: 4 stars at most.

Too far away from the center. Not a 5 star hotel. It is really a 3 star hotel at best. The surroundings need power washing and painting. The swimming pool is good but was dirty. The breakfast was good, but the staff slow and arrogant. The view was literally to a train track.

Booked the room over phone. The confirmed price (I checked twice) was exceeded by almost 30 euros upon checkout. If you book here, make sure you have it in writing. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is not what you expect from 5 stars. Doesn't look very fresh and doesn't give you much choices.

I am tour guide for private costumers around the world and I cannot to recommended this hotel. I been in this hotel last week with group of 14 people. We paid half price deposit before stay. We been so tired after long journey and normal is that staff give you the keys and you go to the room. But not here. They dont would like to gave us keys because they would like to pay everything now (normally you pay in chec kout). And I had not enough cash in my pocket and they didnt like to pay by my debit card. We been waitting in reception 40 minutes and someone of my client had to lent me the money. Owner of this hotel didint would like to give us the key from the room. Staff was unfriendly, pool servis so slow and bad (we need to pour our glasses by the own and if we need something extra we need to go to the reception) Poor servicies in 5 stars hotel. Last thing was scam in the checkout - They would like to control the room before our exit and they found bottles of wine without top cover capsule but cork was inside only top cover. They said that we need to pay but nobody from us didnt open these top cover capsula anymore.

A regal experience. Beautiful rooms, gardens, architecture, decor & view of Mar Mediterraneo. Breakfast buffet was over the top. Try not to get a room facing the highway & train tracks. 😳

Old fashioned, typical Italian interior. Also very classical, Italian breakfast with big variety of cakes and sweets. Excellent coffee.

Grand Hotel Palace is great choose if you travel by car. There are free parking place in front of the hotel. Hotel has nice garden and swiming pool (at winter time closed). Behind the hotel there are yacht docks and sea. Hotel is old style, very nice looking. Beautiful interior, nice and welcoming staff. Woman from reception suggested very beaytiful road to Saline di Marsala (just use the road along the sea). We had very nice room, there were tv, small fridge, relaxing zone with table and chairs. Beds were really comfy. Bathroom was very spacy. Breakfast was good - yes, there were a lot of pastries, but there were ham, cheese, tomatoes, jogurts, boiled eggs, too and you could order fried eggs or omlet. So, it was much more than you can get at typical italian breakfast (croassant and cappuchino). And of coures, coffee was very good. In walking distance there are good restaurant, supermarket and wineries (Cantine Florio and Cantine Bianchi).

Beautiful. Slightly dated but vintage feel to the place. Really lovely, friendly staff, good wine at reasonable price. Good set menu €30 for 3 courses inc wine & the food was great. Feel sad that such a grand place is so empty after the COVID nightmare season, hope this place of history & grandeure will stay afloat. Amazing pool. Really worth a stay

The location of the hotel just few minutes from the old city and just next to Cantina Florio (great tasting tour of Marsala) was fabulous! We loved the view from the Windows over the harbour. Ladies on reception were extremaly kind and helpful (special greetings for Iba 😊). The room was pretty and the breakfast was very delicious. We highly recommend this place to discovery the western coast of Sicily!

The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was also spacious. That's the only positive aspect. The hotel is far away from the town centre, the area around is bleak, desolate and quite rundown. The nearest grocery shop - minimarket is Sisa, 1.5 km (20 minutes walk) that you have to negotiate walking along the side a busy road by the port, without the shadow of a footpath, putting your life at risk every step you take. The ugliness of the road behind the hotel is something worth mentioning. Check-in experience was by far definitely not one of a 5* hotel, extremely quick and quite dismissive. I'd like to mention that there is not even a free bottle of water left as courtesy in the room, nothing at all. Towels to sit by the pool come at an extra cost. Breakfast wasn't at the level of a 5* hotel. It's more a 3* hotel in what used to be a 4* hotel (for its size, front garden and imposing large entrance gate). Certainly it used to be a grand palace, I hope that my review will help changing something, because there is potential, but changes have to be made!

The new five-star Grand Hotel Palace is the ideal place for a vacation in a refined and luxurious Italian-Sicilian spirit. The hotel is in baroque and renaissance luxury of decadence style. The staff at the hotel are professional and simply dedicated to their guests from all over the world, from Denmark to the United States of America. The most delicious Italian wines and the best Marsali espresso coffee are served here. Breakfast at the hotel is buffet style. From Italian savory to the most delicious sweet specialties. Bartender Giovanni Lo Cascio is professional and diligent, he was at our service every second. The outdoor swimming pool in particular adorns the oasis of the old Palace Hotel. The water is warm and clean. At the pool there is a beautiful garden for aperitif services and a restaurant (food and meals). Be sure to try Gambere and a sandwich with tuna, salad and a special tomato. A white wine that smells like fresh lemon perfume, it's great. The service inside the hotel goes to the signature for the room. So everything is made easy for you. You don't have to carry personal documents and money, or bank cards and wonder if you'll ever lose them. Room are amazing and luxury. We will come back to this wonderful hotel again. Marsala is a historical place that you will enjoy to the maximum. You can visit the Marakaibo beach with an agreement at the hotel reception, which will organize a transfer for you within 15 minutes from and to the hotel with a 30% discount on sunbeds and umbrellas. All the best. Highly recommended. With respect, Alen Albinovic Denmark 20.06.2023.

Travelled independently as family with adult kids and were disappointed. The place is geared and appropriate for tour groups traveling in buses. We knew it would be a 15 minute walk to the historic center. But: No way to safely walk to town from the hotel - the busy road in front has no sidewalk, there is no rear entrance. Wi-Fi didn’t work anywhere but in the reception area, no laundry service due to holidays. It was us, not management who found out the road from the hotel would be closed due to an event on our departure date. Sad if a pretty von place is poorly run. The breakfast staff was sweet and helpful.
