Stopped over after a 2.5hrs drive from Catania. The place was super crowded on a Sunday and queues were being managed by personnel. Restrooms were clean at the time of visit, with the janitor present at the premises.

Really dirty toilets, no cold drinks available on my visit, the best thing about this place is the view of the mountain across the road

Got a quick sandwich and coffee and pit stop. For Americans used to "gas station sandwiches" - the service places on Italian highways/motorways will be a very pleasant surprise! Several great varieties to choose from, all tasty with upscale ingredients and warmed on the panini press.

Petrol station was charging almost €2/litre for diesel on the 23/07 for the serviced option so ensure you choose self service which is much cheaper.
