I always love the coffee here. I love the clean, open space. Seating is limited so during warmer weather I take my coffee to go (which they serve in reusable jars). We were able to sit this time so we got a savory scone to share and it was SO GOOD!!!

Absolutely awesome coffee served only in a glass jar that you can take home and bring back. I admire them for taking such a bold and positive step. I also love how the iced coffee was cold without excessive ice.. which makes it easy to drink without needing a straw at all. Definitely check them out if visiting!

The coffee is the best in Des Moines, no contest. More impactful than that, though—the experience here is consistently incredible. The staff here are masterful at creating a welcoming, hospitable, and unpretentious experience. Their seasonal rotating specials are artful, their classic drinks consistently second-to-none, and their passion for their customers and community are present with every visit. I admire their passion for “the glass revolution” (serving to-go drinks in reusable jars) and the commitment to a beautifully curated, minimal, yet cozy atmosphere. This is a must-visit if in Des Moines, or even in Iowa. I only wish they were open later, I would visit every evening if I could.

I love that this place will only serve in reusable glass jars! To go come with lids. Tried an oat milk latte- miso orange infusion. Was delicious and perfectly made!!! Was a barista in the past and can get a little particular about my lattes. Will be going back to try again, highly recommend! Would give them a 5 , but honestly the service was not the friendliest. No worries, can’t judge it all from one experience! Thanks for the delicious latte all the same!

I really can't say enough about this coffee shop. We were on a trip from Detroit to Denver, Colorado and our electric Ford F-150 lightning and it had been a hectic cold trip. What a blessing to come to this coffee shop. Super relaxed atmosphere. Amazingly friendly people and the food and the coffee are fantastic. I'm not vegan per se, but I can tell you that the vegan scones i had the caramel apple and my wife had the blackberry chai were absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to our stop on the way back. Ask for Brad. He can tell you all about the amazing coffee.

This place is a little gem! The coffee and atmosphere are perfectly balanced and designed with people in mind. Do yourself a flavor favor and go here! Prices are par for specialty roasters- also, they have sustainability as a core belief. (Recyclable, Reusable glass mugs((see picture))Des Moines should have this place in every neighborhood!

This is one of the most beautiful coffee shops I’ve ever seen! I was in Des Moines looking for a place to do some computer work and get some coffee and this is the best possible place. Very thoughtfully designed interior. I found myself transfixed by the plant life. Definitely go here.

On a Road-trip with my daughter- was told this was a must to try. Barista was super helpful! Everything is recycled- your coffee comes in glass - ours was to go- so it came in a glass jar with lid. My choice was caramel latte. 5 stars

Great coffee shop. We are from out of town, and on both stops they were Incredibly nice with our kids. Gave them stickers and extremely welcoming and hospitable. Plus, the coffee was fantastic. I had an americano and an iced pour over, and both were exceptional. 10/10! Also, Karl enjoyed his maple latte.

Lovely neighborhood cafe that roasts their own coffee. Nice cafe space, attentive service, and a small selection of pastries. Very good coffee.

Arrived late near closing time, but I enjoyed sitting down in this beautiful space, with an exceptional cup of freshly brewed tea from Spirit Teas. I don't drink coffee, so I always try to spot places where they have a nice selection. Horizon Line didn't disappoint! Also there was this v cute guy, long hair, cap, glasses, that I wish I'd have talked too. Sorry, I'm oversharing here. 🙃

Great local roaster and coffee shop with a rotating menu of creative seasonal drinks with syrups and ingredients made in house. Great vegan pastries as well.

Not only does Horizon Line have the best coffee and creative delicious seasonal drinks, we just love the atmosphere and staff so much! We’re both Deaf and the staff always go out of their way to communicate efficiently with us and make us truly feel welcome and included. If you’re in the area or driving through Des Moines, highly recommend making this stop!

Great coffee, awesome staff, and a beautiful shop. I love their to go glasses/jars. The experience of drinking from the glass (even to go) made it taste that much better and it was simple to return the glass when we were done after a nice walk though sculpture park. Highly recommend this place!

This place was exceptional in every sense of the word. Every new coffee place I go to, I look for this level of quality and skill and I'm almost always disappointed. But Horizon Line is superb. The homemade scones were better than any I've had outside of my mom's kitchen. The coffee was perfectly brewed and the homemade flavors made the difference. Vibes were impeccable, Perfect to study or meet with a friend. Very friendly and patient staff and I can't wait to come back.

Definitely one of the top 10 coffee shops I've visited. I really appreciated their atmosphere, green initiatives, and aptitude pertaining to roasting and brewing. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit.

My americano was good and the vibe of the shop was good but I wish the wood benches were more comfortable. I would go back. 👍

Fantastic coffee! My wife is a coffee nerd and normally gets coffee from an even more coffee obsessed friend who roasts his own beans. However, if we run out of beans earlier than expected we come here and have always been very happy with the beans we get. Also, fantastic coffee when we're downtown and looking for a treat. Great coffee, great people, great place!

Easy on the eyes menu, chill staff and a big open space to consume coffee and do coffee related things that one does in a coffee shop. The cold brew wasn't bitter when served up black which is a good thing and the latte was creamy with that good flavor you hear about when people talk openly of enjoying a good cup of coffee.

Great coffee in Des Moines. Definitely worth a stop in. Love how the company is so ethical in everything it does. Great example of a for profit business that also cares about leaving the world a better place. To go coffee is in reusable glass jars which is just awesome!
