I am visiting from Chicago. I have been in many countries. I have had a lot of steak in my life, but this restaurant was the best restaurant for steak I have ever had and the waitress was super friendly. Food came fast. I really recommend this restaurant for anyone from inside or outside of Argentina❤️❤️❤️

What a delicious and inexpensive dinner we had at Santos Manjares. We chose the place because a local we chatted with earlier in the day recommended it. The food, wine, atmosphere, and wait staff all went well beyond our expectations.

This place is excellent. Gina provided most excellent service. The grill is beautiful, the chefs skills are gorgeous. The wine Gina recommended paired very well. Restrooms were clean. Such a relaxed environment, and so delicious. Dream come true!!! Thanks team Santos!!!!!

Stopped in with my wife and two kids (11mo and 4 year old). GREAT steak. Had the ribeye and skirt steak. Fries are a great complement. The Imperial lager was perfect after a long day of walking but wine seems pretty popular here. Will have to try a Malbec next time. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a good parilla with a friendly atmosphere. Menu has English translation.

We stopped in for dinner and had a wonderful time. The rump steak was delicious. The House Wine (Malbec) was very good so we stayed a little longer after we finished our meal. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, as we only knew a little Spanish. We were not rushed to leave so we got to relax and enjoy the ambience. Definitely a restaurant we will revisit!

We ordered one of the house specialties with rib eye steak for 2 people and I must say it was amazing. The portion size was sufficient and it tasted so good. Definitely recommend this place.

Wow... abhidden gem in the back alley. Webfou d it thanks to hundreds of reviewers. Good wine, awesome steak, even the fries are impressively tasty. My son and I had the Ribeye Steak for two- but it's totally HUGE for 3 people - at least 40 oz ! Salad is very generous with the pamasiane cheese, too.

It was not what it was cracked up to be. Chorizo and provoleta hit the spot, also the house wine was very good. However, the steak we got (rib eye) was really fatty, chewy, and sort of mediocre. Also, we got olive oil to put on the salad and it was rancid! All in all, a middle of the road experience....maybe our expectations were too high.

Service and food both amazing. The food is incredible (both has steak) and it was cooked perfectly - very good value ans the wine list was really affordable. Atmosphere was really lively. A perfect dinner

Excellent prices and incredible food. I’ve been trying steaks all around Argentina, Ecuador, and Peru on my travels and this was probably my favorite. If you are reading this you need to eat here 100%.

Came after Google Maps and TripAdvisor recommended this place. I was impressed not only for the totally great food for a good value but also for the attention. There was this girl from Merida, Venezuela who recommended just right amount of food with the perfect wine match at the correct temperature. My visit was much enjoyed and would recommend this place to anyone. UPDATE AFTER SPENDING TWO DAYS IN BUENOS AIRES: This restaurant was seriously inexpensive compared with the rest we've been. 100% recommended because of the great value for what you pay.

Fabulous dinner experience. Healthy mix of locals and tourists. Get there early. By the time we left (before 20.00) there were seven parties patiently waiting - so worth it. The rib eye melted in your mouth, and the chef’s recommendations for starters were fantastic. A bottle of Malbec, and it all comes together. Excellent service and pricing. Enjoy!

We had the rib eye fillet steak and it was incredibly tender and flavoursome. The best beef so far in Argentina. Mashed potatoes were also excellent, the grilled veges had a bit too much onion for my liking. The service was good, the menu is in both Spanish and English, and the prices are very reasonable. Atmosphere is good but not fancy. Highly recommend this place. Arrive before 7:30 to get a table without a reservation.

Great portions good flavor and the service wasn’t bad at all; after having quite some beef in Argentina this one still stood out! If you’re a tourist who doesn’t care about the time of eating so much, between 5:30-7:00pm would be relatively empty since the people eat late in here.

Tourists be wary: I promise I am usually not one to leave a bad review but my experience here was terrible. My two friends and I are visiting Buenos Aires from the U.S., we chose Santos Manjares based on the glowing reviews and it was close by to the theatre where we spent our evening. Walking into this establishment, the ambience was nice, lots of locals having a great time. It looked promising. It was about 11pm when my two friends and I went, we were sat a table pretty quickly and brought menus and waters that we asked for and we let her know that we are not fluent in Spanish but know enough to get by and order en Español. Our sever then left us to look over the menu which had translation in English (which we thought would make our ordering experience easier for both the group and our server.) The server came back about 15 minutes later to take our order. Without doing so, she then disappeared and never came back. We waited an additional 20 minutes before we decided she may have forgotten about us. We tried getting the attention of several different wait staff, there were about 5 or 6 on the floor at the time, and we were ignored every time. After desperately trying to catch their eyes and waving respectfully, finally one member of our group had to get up and walk back over to the service station to ask if someone could please come take our order. We didn’t want to stay too long since the restaurant was closing soon. We were at last able to put in our order and get our food fairly quickly. We ordered wine, steak, rustic fries and vegetables: the steak and fries were good, not spectacular but the vegetables were not seasoned at all and we didn’t really eat them. We all agreed that the food didn’t exactly reflect the very positive reviews that specifically highlighted the reviews we had read. Our group took our time eating and talking and by this time it was past closing time. Not once did any staff come to check on us to make sure everything was to our liking or see if we needed more drinks. We spent about an hour and a half there and we had minimal interaction with the staff the entire time even though they were all visible from our table and seemingly taking care of the several other guests who were there. At last we figured we would have to initiate getting our bill so we went to the payment station and got so many dirty looks from the staff as we were paying for our meal. We left as quickly as we could after that because it couldn’t be more obvious that the staff did not want to interact with us and we did not feel welcome there. Really our only complaint was that the staff were extremely unwelcoming and cold to us the entire time. I have hopes that ours was a unique experience and that the employees are normally friendly and efficient but unfortunately that was just not our experience. If not, I hope the management here will take notice of its hospitality staff and make major improvements, especially in a tourist area where a little extra effort goes a long way.

Great steak house in the city centre. This place is quite popular and may require a 15-30 minutes wait. The wait is well worth it as the meats are tender and grilled to perfection (medium rare). Highly recommended.

This is a nice local place hunted by travelers like me. Lots of locals enjoying food and drinks at a restaurant who probably knows everyone. Theyre friendly even if you don't speak Spanish and not from the neighborhood. The highlight? The food and the service!

My #1 dining experience in Buenos Aires. Delicious meals, fair prices, outstanding service. Tip; I first tried coming around 2pm but it was very busy so I didn’t wait. On the other days I came around midday and it was perfect. I came here twice, wish I’d come a third time.

The best place I had steak in Buenos Aires. I had steaks in a few other places, Other places aren't bad, they are more expensive. I ordered lomo steak and it cost me 4400 Pesos, as of July 2023(1 USD ~ 515 Pesos). The meat is delicious, portions of fries are huge. This is a "must visit" place to have a steak in Buenos Aires.

Located near Galerias Pacifico, within walking distance from Obelisco. Steaks at very reasonable price. Most items come with a side without additional cost. Very delicious bife chorizo and rump steaks. It is one of the best we had in Buenos Aires. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food for a very reasonable price. Especially liked the chorizo. Keep in mind that the portions are HUGE. We had a bife de ojo for two and it was way too much food.

Great little restaurant I can highly recommend in Buenos Aires in the Ricoleta area. Many tourist but also locals. Food was very good. I had the filet mignon with salad as the side. And I always ordered the Fried cheese with bacon and peppers - this was also tasty and I’ve had many times at different restaurants. The steak was flavourful and of course a bottle of Malbec.

After some lovely starters (please don’t let me near deep fried cheese, it’s my new obsession!), the rib eye to share was really disappointing. Is it fair to compare its comparatively low price point to other steaks we’ve had locally? Yes. The first came well done, which had to be sent back - full marks on making this as painless as possible! The medium rare replacement was bland, serviceable, filling but not the revelation so many reviews seem to suggest. It was not good in comparison to what I thought was fine or glorious elsewhere. A popular and clearly loved restaurant but it didn’t hit the mark for me.

A definite must go! Clearly I have had better steaks because these are not at all tender. That said everything else was great! We had the special ribeye for 2. $11,500! Big and flavorful! We added the fried cheese appetizer which was outstanding. I added a huge bottle of Imperial IPA which was great. All this came to a whopping $17,400!! Now get this, that converted to $21 (US)! I spent was more then that for 2 beers at the airport!! Clearly the best value meal I have had in all my travels! Must go!

The best food I’ve had in Buenos Aires. And one of the best meals I’ve had in 2 months traveling in South America. The reviews are great and the reason for us going, and they didn’t disappoint. Great service, the food came out fast and fresh. Fernet poured at the table for just 310 pesos. The prices were all reasonable. We had lomito sandwich, medallones de lomo, puré de calabaza, and 2 salads. All were amazing. When we go back to Buenos Aires we will definitely try this spot again, and probably again if we have time

First Time in Buenos Aires. First restaurant and we were not disappointed. The meat was sooo good and metled in the mouth. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for typical Argentinian food.

LET ME EXPLAIN! The restaurant was definitely not a 4,7 as it was rated for. FOOD: The beef (lomo) was "okay" but not a hit. I asked them to prepare the beef "raw" but they didn't understand. I asked to prepare it "blue" as most Argentina restaurants call it. They didn't understand. She said "punto". I didn't know what she was talking about. But in the end, I showed them a picture. The lomo beef came medium-raw. I chose vegetables as a side dish. They didn't taste much. They served some pre-baked bread in the beginning. Mine was very hard and dry. In the middle of my meal, they came again with hot pre-baked bread and asked if I wanted more. First, it was super hot and short time later very try again. I think they should stop that and focus on all main orders and service instead. SERVICE: Service was so bad. I waited 10 minutes before I called someone. They asked what I wanted to order, and I said I needed to see the menu first, please. Same for the bill in the end. I asked 3 times and even went to the front desk to pay. And it still took them time. All the time, I just heard "disculpa". Everyone runs stressed around. ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere was very bad, not cozy at all and it was super noisy in the restaurant. You sit very close next to each other. For just 2-4.000 ARS more you can eat in a much better and fancy restaurant with good service (e.g. Tucson which is near by). Maybe I was just there on the wrong timing.. but still very disappointed about a 4,7 rating if I look at the whole experience. But go and judge yourself. Best regards, Tourist from Germany 🇩🇪

Maybe it was because my dad hyped up this place too much, but while the food was quite nice, it wasn’t the mind blowing meal that was advertised. The provoleta was quite tasty, though I think it should have been served in a cast iron skillet to maintain its heat. And the steak itself was good, but nothing mind blowing. The rice needs some work. That being said, the service was fantastic.

Seriously, this may have been the best steak and wine combination I have ever experienced. Absolutely fantastic. This place is not fancy, buts it’s efficient and friendly. The bread and salad were fine , but the rib eye and the filet were just to die for. In your life you get just a handful of these experiences and you just need to take it and appreciate it while it’s happening. Truly remarkable and so much better than I had elsewhere in BA. Plus the steak Was like $10US! The wine was more but Adrianna Vineyard is like the classic high End Malbec ($30 here but >$150 in US. So good we went back for lunch the next day and it was just as good. Some backstory, even though everyone works together as a family, they are not related. The restaurant has been around for only 5 years but they wanted to create a homey atmosphere - like you would do at home

Great restaurant with great food, ambience and service. We ordered a ribeye steak with rustic fries, an Argentina sausage, a salad and a bottle of Malbec and everything is perfect. The steak and the sausage are juicy and full of flavor. The salad is fresh. Highly recommended!

The food was really good. The steak was directly from the grill, so you got the good taste of coal! The service was good, but not great. I guess they were busy, but they never checked on me or asked me how it was, how I felt, if I wanted something else, etc etc It was packed in the middle of the day (2 pm) But I felt it was mostly tourists, even though I thought it was a place for locals. Anyway, it's checked off my list, and I'm all in all satisfied.

I visited here on a Wednesday night and it was quite packed, with a line outside. Luckily the line was moving fast. Santiago Manjares is were the locals grab a bite. Service was fast despite the restaurant being packed. The first bottle of wine I chose was sold so I ordered a different out. The steak was cooked very good and it was juicy. I order mash potatoes and mashed pumpkin, I didn’t like them at all. They both lacked flavor.

Super steak and at a very good price. Definitely recommend to go there. We had to queue for about 30min to get in, but the wait was worth it. Also the desert was nice.

  • 4/5 Kai N. 5 months ago on Google
It's very much a locals restaurant and had good steaks. There's two philosophy about steaks: marinated or pure unadulterated taste. This is the pure type..not marinated but fire grilled with "char" taste. We ordered: Empanada( only one type stuffed with beef) generous amount of filling, pastry nice flaky not too thick crust. (duendide is it was made ahead and reheated) 4.8 stars Chorizo nice flavor hint of white wine 4.5 We wanted to try flank for two but they ran out....😭poor us we had to settled for ribeye Ribeye medium for two with eggs rustic fries and salad. 4.2 stars I just realized we did not get creole sauce.... Salad fresh, rustic fries were whole potato wedges with skin Also the free bread with three sauces were all delish: some type of "pesto", a creamy tomato onion one, and a tomatoes onion bell pepper salsa. All delish Drinks from bottles nothing on tap. Service was friendly but they are very busy and sometimes forgetful.

This place was so YUMMY and so so affordable. We got the house special ribeye for 2. For our sides we picked the mashed pumpkin (so simple yet fresh and tasty) and the Parmesan arugula salad. Everything was great!

great place to have well priced steak in buenos aires! My friend and I went 3 times during our time in buenos aires, each time we went, the food kept getting better. i would recommend the ribeye with the mashed potatoes. has to be said, i am not a big steak person, but i found the food really good.

I really enjoyed my steak and rustic chips. The staff are friendly and they check up on you to make sure everything is good. It is very well priced and I thought it would be more expensive for the area. I highly recommend.

I had a really nice lunch here. I like the sweet sauce on the meat, i don't know what it is. And the price is quite affordable. I paid around 10eur for all.

  • 2/5 Guy Z. 1 year ago on Google
We had high hopes for this place (since we received a good recommendation for it), but the steak was just not very good and poorly made. Parts of the steak were completely raw while other parts were completely cooked on the bottom half but red on the top half, like they only cooked it on one side. (All of the pictures in this review are of the same steak)

  • 5/5 שחר . 1 year ago on Google
Best price to value out there! The price of the meal is like any other steakhouse out there. But the quality is amazing. My go to steakhouse in buenos Aires.

Great food, prices and services. Loved this place and returned a few times during my trip. Ordered a few different steaks and all of them were cooked perfectly, very tasty and tender. Drinks are cheap as well.

Delicious! Definitely one of the best restaurants so far. The bife de chorizo was delicious. 400 pesos for a glass of wine totally worth it. And to top it off, the very attentive and fast service.

  • 5/5 Meghan L. 2 years ago on Google
Whoever needs to hear this: GO HERE! The house made chorizo is heavenly. The steaks are seasoned and cooked to perfection. The chimichurri is aromatic and fresh. And this is all for a really decent price. We were so happy La Brigada was closed and we had to try somewhere else. The best happy accident!

  • 4/5 Imran R. 2 years ago on Google
Great value for money. Chorizo starter was outstanding. Ribeye was good. Two eggs cooked well with runny yolks. ‘Rustic chips/wedges’ could have been crispier. Sautéed veggies were bland. Service okay, although even if they knew I didn’t speak much Spanish, the staff would still blurt everything out at 1000mph español (but that’s mostly my own problem!)…

  • 5/5 omar t. 4 years ago on Google
One of the best steaks in BA. Not many vegetarian options. Even the fries are cooked in the oil with animal products. Service was amazing. The salad was yummy.

  • 5/5 Hailey C. 4 years ago on Google
The food was really good once we had sat in our seats they brought out some free bread which was really good but the sauce that was with it was not the best I don't know what was in the sauce but my suggestion is just eat the bread without the sauce for my food I got the skirt steak which was awesome I had all ready eaten half of mine before I noticed the herb sauce for the steak so I tried putting it on and it got 10 times as good when it was all ready so good before. (The photo of the stuff in the little red bowl is the herb sauce)

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had in my life. No joke. I had the ribeye with rustic potatoes, and partner had bife de chorizo con huevos fritos. The Malbec was delicious, as was the empanadas!

Honestly (and we tried already a few here in Buenos Aires) our best meat experience in Buenos Aires! Very fair price for astonishing buttery bites! Dunno what they do to make their steaks so far leading tasty and tense, but they are mindblasting! Seems that locals know as you meet loads of them here. 😉 Service is amazing and super friendly. We absolutely loved it!!! Muchas Gracias to the kitchen and the staff!!! ❤️
