This place is expensive but well worth it! We had a great time and will be back. We got there about 230 and only had time for the drive through so next time we will go earlier so we can do the walk through as well. They have a retail store in the walk through area and you can buy food to feed various animals including the giraffes! The drive through food was $3 each or 4/$10. The admission was $20 adult and kids 2-12 $12. They closed at 5pm. Super fun family day. Probably a little miserable when it's hot out. But was a good temp the day we went. The easiest things for us to feed were the ostriches, thought they made a mess, and the deer. The buffalo heads are so big they can't fit their mouth in the bucket so they wind up trying to take the bucket from you. The camel's take the bucket from you. The llamas are unruly sometimes. We did have one spit on us because the one that was already eating wouldn't move when the taller one came and tried to push him with his head. So when the shorter didn't move the taller one spat on us. We did have a mess in the car afterward due to the food spilling when ostriches ate. But it can be cleaned. Nothing too bad just the feed in floor.

Absolutely worth every cent! The drive through lasts about 2+ hrs then there's the walk through petting Zoo. They've expanded the drive through pastures so the Bison no longer cause traffic jams, and there's A LOT of new animals running around...tapir, Wildebeest, Midnight Peacocks, red river hogs and more. My oldest loves hand-feeding carrots to George the Giraffe, my middle kid loves the aviary and my youngest loves getting lost in the goat herd at the petting zoo. Plan for 3-4 hrs there.

Guy at the booth said that a lot of people get 16 buckets of food. Right. We got 8 because we knew we'd go around twice. Easily could have gone with 6. It's nice that you can go around as many times as you want. Very diverse collection of animals, especially in the zoo. Better than some city zoos. Totally worth buying a cup of carrots to feed the giraffe. Had a great time. The second time around the ostriches were not as aggressive but be prepared.

The Tennessee Safari Park is an extreme amount of fun. If you feed the animals while out driving, you’ll end up laughing as the animals invade your personal space and join you in your vehicle. There are deer, camels, alpaca, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, cranes, ostrich, emu, rhea, and many more. They’ll be glad to eat whatever food you bring for them. Currently it is $24 per person and $10 for 4 buckets of food. If you like feeding them, buy at least 8 buckets or you’ll run out before you get half-way through. The peering zoo part is also nice. Birds, monkeys, fox, giraffe, and tons of goats. You can feed them as well. Anyway, this is the most possible fun you can have in the area. I go every year when I’m in the area and can’t possibly recommend this enough. Such fun and such up close experiences with the animals.

Today, we went to this zoo. It was an easy drive and noticeable entrance. The bathrooms are clean and cute. The animal food was not over priced. It was not expensive. There was a gift shop full of gear and rocks and candy and snacks. We got to the counter for the walk in zoo at 4:29 I know because I ran, as I’m asking for food she says they can no longer sell more. We were a party of 11 & understood they closed at five. So I say no big deal, we walk through the zoo anyways. On our way back towards the monkeys we were approached at 4:53 and asked to start exiting. Listen, I know this is a family business but we loved your place and we as paying customers should be trusted to exit when you close at 5pm. Customer service needs improvement but the place is well kept, clean and so many amazingly beautiful animals.

Super fun! You get up close to so many animals from the comfort of your car. We bought 8 buckets of food and someone had suggested taking a container with you so you can dump the feed into so in the bucket they give you to put out the window only has a little bit so if/when the animal takes your bucket you still have feed for the other animals. I can not say enough how this tip saved us. We started the drive with 8 buckets. We ended the drive with 4 and we were all adults lol. Don't forget to save some feed for the petting zoo that you go to after your drive. The end holds one of the coolest things. You can buy carrots to feed the giraffes! All and all it was the coolest thing ever. Pandemic friendly too. Great for all ages. I highly recommend. I will say for handicap people there is some spots to the petting zoo / giraffe area that are gravel. Some wheelchairs may have trouble. My friends scooter had none. Hope this helps♡

Smooth entry and ticket/feed purchasing. LOTS of animals to feed. I’d suggest 12 feed buckets if you really love feeding animals. We did 8 and wish we had done 12. There are some areas that can get “cargested” (like what I did there…) but they swoop in and help keep things moving without rushing those that are still trying to enjoy specific animals. Be cognizant of things on your dash - clean it off before you go through. I may be missing something from my dash now. Don’t worry, I called and let them know immediately what happened, which animal it was and it’s location. The holding areas for the other animals isn’t great (cats) and it made me pretty sad and it’s the main reason for the dropped star, just for your own information. Would I go again? Yes, I’d just likely do the drive thru only. The giraffe feeding is worth going into the walk through area at least once for sure though!!

What a fantastic trip. I think I enjoyed it even more than my kids. I will warn you, the Camels and Llamas will block you in and snatch your feed buckets from you. We also had one large gal rub her neck on the hood of the car and leave a small dent for memories lol Definitely worth the 2 hour drive.

This was an awesome alternative to a zoo. You get to touch most of the animals but be aware because they are smart and will steal your feed bucket right out of your hands. They don't go for the feed in the bucket but just take the whole bucket. It was a camel for me and my wife. The walk through zoo section is also pretty cool. It's not big but a good size as to not get tired walking in the heat with kids. It also has lots of animals I haven't seen at bigger zoos.

Patience is the key to enjoying this experience. Saturday is an extremely busy day & heat makes it much less enjoyable. Long line to enter the park & long lines driving through. If the animals are hot & full they don't interact. Other visitors seemed generally rude & inconsiderate when it came to holding up lines and sharing the animals. The Bison & Camels are aggressive & will snatch your bucket. Overall it was an okay experience. Too expensive for me but nice for a one time visit. I say check it out but be prepared to wait for long periods of time. Use the restroom before the driving tour. Make sure to check out the website before visiting. Cash only admission & card only store/gift shop.

Awesome place!! So much fun to see these animals up close! When they ask how many buckets you want, make sure to get more than you think you need!! Three of us got 8 buckets to share and still ran out before the end. They want you to feed them and they are not shy! Worth! Every! Penny!!

Awesome place to feed, and look at animals. Tons of routes to drive your car, and feed animals. Camels, goats, deer, ostrichs, gazelles, so on can be found on the trail. The walking zoo is great, monkeys, birds, and wallabies, can be found. Gift shop, and bathrooms can be found here too. Would recommend to a friend, and would totally come here again.

My best friend and I took our kids for a day trip during fall break since we live 3 1/2 hours away. I recommend bringing a big pan or bowl to dump the feed into because kids will drop the buckets easily. I dumped most of the feed into one and had a smaller amount in the buckets they fed the animals with. That helped when, it's very likely it'll happen as there are buckets everywhere lol, a bucket gets dropped so you don't lose all your feed. Have patience because those llamas are stubborn and will stand in front of your vehicle for as long as they please. Don't worry about cleaning your vehicle before you go because you'll need a cleaning in and out after you leave. There is a walk through part also, and the kids can get in with the baby goats. We had a blast and we will be going back. It's an amazing experience for the kiddos and the staff is super nice.

First experience in a safari. It is a must go! Your car will get dirty when you feed them bc since it is not allowed to get out the car. They do have a parking area with gift shop and restroom. You buy the buckets of food and follow the road. Its a pretty long road full of animals. It was an amazing experience. Nice to bring the kiddos along. Will definitely come again.

This is the absolute best if you have not been. If your nervous about some of the animals if we rolled up the windows they just moved on to the next car. Nothing but laughs and smiles from my boys the entire time, I have a 4 year old and a 17 month old and I went alone with them. Get there when they open it took us about 4 hours to do all of it at an enjoyable pace for us. The staff was super friendly and so were the animals. They all looked healthy and happy. They have lots of room to roam. We will be back!

My children and I love this place, we come every year. We live 2 in a half hours away so we always get up early on a Saturday to get there before they open, because if not, you could wait hours to get in, one time we went in the afternoon around 2pm and waited 2 hours. And the animals were not hungry anymore, so it was not as fun. But when they are hungry it is hilarious and fun.

Wonderful day trip. Had a. Amazing time. You can spend hours looking and feeding the animals. Some will rip those food buckets right out of your hands, they know what they are doing! Definitely buy a lot more food than you think you want. The only improvement I would add is informational signs. They do sell guidebooks, and maybe the animals would destroy the signs. But if you come when they have the walk through portion open, it gets a little confusing on where to go.

Drive-thru safari where you can feed a variety of animals. Use both hands when feeding and hold on tight as the animals will try to get the whole bowl of food out of your hands! Check out the other area to walk through. They have military discounts!

We were really upset! It was a great place with a ton of animals. The kids had a blast. We arrived 2 hours before the 4:30 pm time when they no longer let people in. We were about halfway through when a staff member drove up and said at 5 we needed to get out and feed no more animals. We finally made it to the giraffes at 5 and then got yelled at by staff for stopping, with about 3 cars ahead and 8 behind, and it was the worst. My kids desperately wanted to see the giraffes!!! May 14th - review is changed. Know this: they will boot you at 5pm. They do not care if you are not even close. Response was: our time after 5 pm is not for sale. I have never been given the impression or statement like that and I have explored the country! WOW, Jon is definitely an interesting owner.

Have you ever fed a camel? A zebra? A bison? Ostriches? Deer? Other animals similar to deer that I don’t remember the names of? Cows? Alpaca? A giraffe? This place is awesome. Worth every cent. We got 5 buckets for two adults and a toddler and it went a good ways. 6 may have been preferable. The petting zoo / zoo area was fun. Seriously one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. Be careful because some of the animals will literally steal your entire bowl of food if you don’t hold on tightly! They know what they want.

I have been visiting the Safari Park for several years. It continues to grow and improve. My 12-year-old daughter and her cousin enjoy going very much. The shop is nice. The renovations were a very nice upgrade. I have not seen a movie but it is on my to-do list. I highly recommend this spot for family fun even on a hot day as you are in your car. The animals are always fun to watch and interact with just watch your food bucket.

This was our second visit, and again, it never disappointed us! We had the best time being greeted by hungry ostriches, deer, lamas, and more. They even stuck their head in the window, seeking sustenance we bought. It's definitely an experience and money well spent.

This was so much fun! As per a lot of the other reviews buy extra feed, make sure you hold the buckets with two hands, some will take from you. They definitely have personalities! They definitely have lots of land to roam and run. They are a lot of fun! We went on a cooler day.I would recommend and go again

Always a great time when i go. The line to get in on this day was extremely long but i guess everyone wanted to go. Once youre in its cool sometimes you get held up waiting on the car in front of you. But i love feeding the animals. Be sure to take care of the animals and their upkeep.

The safari was really good. The camels will steal your whole bowl of food so either buy extra or hold on tightly. Also save food for the animals later on in the safari you will run out in the first 10 minutes and it lasts about 2 hours. We didn't so the walk through because of the heat but we will definitely be returning.

Went during the week and it was not busy at all. Definitely worth it! Feed buckets are 4 for $10- you definitely want that many at least camels are very strong and get the buckets right out of your hands, recommend avoiding them lol. Got to the bison, don't bring your car if you don't want scratches. It was an absolutely amazing drive-thru great alternative to a zoo. For the walk thru definitely recommend getting carrots to feed the giraffes

Was able to enjoy even during rain. Really enjoyed the drive. We bought 4 cups but was able to complete only 3 cups. We were storing 4th cup for zone 4/ last part/last few animals. One request to Park Staffs: It will be really great if there is any milestones/mile mark/some indication that we are nearing the exit loop so that we will feed the remaining food to animals. A car that was infront me just put down 2 buckets of feed on the road and no animal was near to eat that, it was just waste. Atleast we were able to give the 4th feed cup to goats. Store some feed to animals in middle part (zone 3, 4) . Because we gave lot of foods to first few animals, we were not able to feed animals in zone 3, and zone 4.

I've been to this Safari park 2 times, and I have really enjoyed it. It's so much fun!we went there really early so we didn't wait much to enter. The whole family loved it. You get to see all different kinds of animals and feed them. The entry price and the price for the animal food is also not expensive. I really recommend this place. You'll love it!!!

Loved loved loved!! Definitely worth it! I have 3 teenagers and 2 smaller kids always stuck on their phones, this was one thing I got all their attention too. The only thing that could’ve been better where snack stands and or vending machines. It was a little hot throughout the petting zoo area. But otherwise it was a really worth it trip to the zoo! Oh!! Watch out because the camels will take your buckets.

Amazing park. My grandson and loved it. Petting zoo was great, you can feed the giraffe carrots! Beware of the camels and zebras taking your whole bowl of food from you, we ran out halfway because of the boogers hehe. Ostrich and the llama's would eat out of the bowl tho. We will be revisiting again for sure

  • 5/5 Eileen B. 10 months ago on Google
So much fun! We had such a great time feeding the animals. I learned from a previous trip to bring a large, clean empty bucket to dump the food we buy from the ticket booth and then only put a little back into the buckets to feed the animals and refill as you go. The animals will try to steal the whole bucket. We only lost one this time, and only a little food. We also learned to portion. It's a lot longer than we thought. We were not able to go through the zoo, but look forward to doing that next time.

  • 5/5 Crystal S. 1 year ago on Google
So worth the money! You're gonna need more than 4 buckets of feed... especially if the camels and alpacas steal your buckets! They're ruthless! The walk through zoo was fun. Make sure you get the carrots for the giraffe! Monkeys, sloths, porcupines, peacocks, tortoise, kookaburra, and goats. This has become a must stop when we come through. We had the best time and so much laughter ♥️

The animals were extremely clean and socialised. The experience was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was exciting and a genuinely interesting experience. Not like an ordinary zoo by any means; the animals had so much space to roam.

My children and their cousins all had a blast. From 4 years old to 14 years old, everyone laughed and enjoyed the trip. We piled in the bed of the truck to drive through and it was a fun experience dodging the ostriches. Everyone who worked there was very nice and helpful. The petting zoo and caged- animal exhibits were awesome to see too. We spent another hour looking at them after the safari drive. 2 of the spider monkeys had babies on their back, too adorable for words. Lemurs were so loud and funny, the teenagers enjoyed them. Peacocks everywhere which the younger kids enjoyed. All around wonderful trip!

This is a fabulous place to spend time outside. Very clean and friendly staff. The Animals on the drive through are excellent and come right to the windows and stand in the middle of road just looking . It’s fun to feed them. On the walking zoo the giraffe is very friendly. Be sure to buy 2 things of carrots to feel the giraffe. The parakeets are very friendly and again buy several sticks to feed them. It was a wonderful day and will go back.

Not Covid Compliant in Gift Shop. 2 ladies behind the counter and none of the guests were asked to mask. Some removed the mask when they realized staff was not masked either. Clean park, many types of animals to feed and see. Be careful feeding the ones at the start, most try to steal the cup from you. 4 cups is a decent price and can get you through most of the park. The walkthrough is underwhelming. Overall it was okay to visit, but with the price ($44 for 3 persons + $10 for 4 feed cups) and non compliance during this pandemic, we won't be returning.

Just visited today on a cold cloudy day without rain. There was very few other visitors so it was much more intimate than previous times. The animals were also a little on the ravenous side so it made for some intense but entertaining feeding sessions. The baby giraffe is currently in the zoo as well, so we where able to feed it. The staff told us if you hold the carrot gently in your mouth the giraffe will wrap it’s tongue around it and take it from you.

We live 2.5 hours away. We headed out for a day trip. We got there almost at opening time. The line was about 30 minutes long at this point. We waited in line, which moved quickly. I bought $20.00 worth of feed, which was 4 or 5 bucks for $10.00. At first, I thought we had way too much food - but then... My kiddo dropped two of the plastic buckets of food in my car. I should've brought a cake pan to dump the feed in, and it would have been easier for the animals to eat. Two more buckets went to those strong camels. I'd suggest you save food for the end. Those animals do not get fed as much. We didn't do the walk through zoo and the end. We saw the sloth, and the kiddo bought a bag of stones to mine. It was such a fun experience, we'll definitely go again.
