Absolutely beautiful place. A must stop if one is driving near it. I saw the beautiful fog over Patuxent River from the highway, which pulled me to take the exit and explore this area.

What a great place for kayaking and just a relaxing day. It should be fun to go fishing here too. Many of parking lots. Few benches and picnic tables. Along the lake had other parking spaces too. If you preferred to keep the kayak there. It may needs permit approval

Came here with my son and it was fairly quiet, which was nice. We were the only ones at the playground and he was able to run around a little. We avoided the slide due to the amount of spiders around it though. I do wish they had a more updated play set for the kids. My only real gripe was how that area was not up kept where the benches were. There were broken glass bottles everywhere and obviously people had threw up near the memorial benches. Sad site to see for such a nice and quiet place where someone had dedicated that area for someone special, only to have someone deface it with their broken bottles and throw up. Messed up for real..

Nice reservoir area to take a canoe out in. Do be mindful that you need a permit which you can purchase in advance or online with your phone to go boating. Police are often checking in with folks to make sure they have their permit. There are nice picnic areas and calm current free waters to paddle around in.

Nice launch area and plenty of parking, just a bit far from each other. There's a playground and lots of coves to explore once you're on the water. Permit is required for all water craft.

Nice and quiet park; we tried fishing, but we had no luck, but overall, we had fun. There is also a playground for the kids and grills for BBQ.

BEWARE: We visited 9/17/2022. There was a single sign posted near the entrance warning that blue-green algae has been detected and it avoid any contact with the water. The parking is set up where you don’t need to pass by that sign to enter the park. We usually park off to the side and walk right down from our car. By chance, we noticed the sign as we were leaving AFTER allowing our dog to come in contact with the water. Blue-green algae is poisonous with major consequences if even a small amount is ingested. There were no signs anywhere else within the park or at the “beach” where you can walk down to the water. This lack of signage is a MAJOR oversight and could have deadly consequences for your pet. We had to spend hundreds of dollars at a Pet ER to ensure our dog would be ok.

A great place to go to and be away from the crowd. Meditate. Enjoy nature. Lake was rather muddy. I am going to check back later for fall foliage.

Some of the lake level has decreased and has left massive areas where you can walk around

Nice lake with fish and if you don't mind a down hill walk to the lake, there's shady spots, enough parking for at least 20 to 25 cars, there's a boar ramp

My son loves this hidden park, if you want to skip rocks, sit by the water or kayak this place is perfect. Haven't had much luck fishing

The lake water is not very clean. But the area around the lake is very good. They have a small park for the kids. Lots of trees. Ease of parking. Small area for picnic.
