This is a gemstone in Collinsville, Illinois. So much history, hiking, picnicking, gardens, interactive animals in residence, and more. Every time we visit there is something new, or refined ( beautified), etc. Handicapped accessibility is great. Families will love it. Weddings, reunions, dances in the barn, Clubs meet,, and more-- are happening. Nature on display at its finest!!! And...it's FREE!!!. ( donate, if you can)...see donation boxes.

Got here first impressions are this is a really nice place, I decided to start walking some trails and unfortunately it started raining so I had to cut my trip short, next time.

So glad I found this place! I was in the area for some mountain biking but that ended up not working out, so I stumbled across this gem and did some hiking. I did the longest trail (red) and, even though it’s only about 1.5 miles, it was a nice workout because it’s fairly hilly. The trails are mostly shaded and mulched, which is fantastic. The farm portion is where you begin the hike and there are some animals, gardens (including a flowery butterfly garden), and flowers to see as you get under way. There’s also a restroom available. The farm and trails are free to access, but they do accept donations.

If you want to take your little 'uns on a great, low-key day trip, pack a cooler and head to Willoughby Farms on the outskirts of Collinsville, IL. It is a -darling- example of a working farm so kids can experience farm life: crops, cows, goats, ponies, bunnies, chickens, barns, tractors, farm house, and LOTS of play area. It is extremely well maintained and far too clean to be mistaken for a real farm. 😉 Free admission! For an escape from the X-box for a nostalgic trip back in time, this gets my wholehearted endorsement.

Wow, the conservation and educational work being done at this farm is heartwarming and appreciated! I initially went to walk the beautiful trails but found so much more than I expected. The animals were cute and fun for the kids to feed and I can't wait to go back to see the gardens in their full beauty. I am also an old tool geek so you can imagine how I felt walking into a couple of the barns filled with old farm relics! I can see families, work retreats, schools, and anyone wanting a fun and interesting place to go, coming here. Lots of picnic areas, playground, fire pits, and trails to discover in addition to the farm and gardens. Thank you to the staff and volunteers for providing such a peaceful place.

A very family friendly place! With scavenger hunts, animals to see, and a park to play on, the kids definitely enjoyed themselves. There's also picnic tables and walking trails, so you can plan to hang out for a few hours.

There is a lot to see and do. The play area for kids is great. The staff is friendly and the animals are well taken care of. I recommend for a day for something to do especially if you like the country side, want a nice place to picnic or go nature hiking. Also recommended for school field trips, however I would call a head first. Also their rest rooms are clean and well stocked with vending machines if you want a snack or drink.

A hidden gem tucked away behind houses. You can get up close to the animals and feed them. Good trails with steep inclines and ropes to help. Nice clean accessible restrooms.

This place is such a beautiful secret in Madison County! I was born and raised in Granite, then lived in Troy. I never knew about this farm until moving to Collinsville last year. Small farm animals, play grounds, lots of trails...fun! You feel a million miles away but yet are in the middle of the city. Just beautiful and relaxing.

If you haven't been out in a while, it's worth checking out. They have done a lot with landscaping over the years and are always adding to it. Some trails are easy while others are more challenging. There is something for everyone here.

So much to see and do here. Bring the kids & a picnic lunch and spend the whole day. The farm has challenging well kept trails to hike, animals to visit, gardens and barns to explore and a wonderful playground for kids. This place is a hidden gem and the volunteers & staff do a fantastic job keeping everything in tip top shape.

This place is great. Very few things like this around anymore. Walking trails, animals to interact with and feed, all sorts of educational information and classes. One of the greatest local attractions there is!

Was at the farm this weekend for granddaughters birthday party. Employees were at the site couple times to explain rules which were obeyed. Problem was not one employee wore face masks at any time. They were around the crowds of patrons, needed masks.

Went to the Farms fall festival. Very kid friendly festival not so much geared for adults. $3 for anyone over 2 years of age to get in. My wife and I walked through a garden that they had at one time someone had labeled some of the plants but the area was not well taken care of. There was a lot for kids to do like animals to feed and pet also a wagon ride and a lot of kids in attendance the day we went.

  • 5/5 Becca L. 1 year ago on Google

My kids are obsessed with farm animals. So much so that all my 2 year old triplets wanted for Christmas was a neigh neigh (pony) and our trip to Willoughby Heritage Farms was perfect family farm for them.

Such a fun place, especially if you have children who love farming/tractors! The trails in the woods are so peaceful - a bit hilly so be ready to climb, but very nice. Lots of cool history here, too, with old equipment and barns.
