First time eating at Louie and definitely didn’t disappoint. I’ve heard good things so I was definitely excited to eat here. Service was above par and so was the food. We got the white bean hummus and Brussel sprouts for the table and both were a hit, you can’t go wrong. My beef tenderloin was made to perfection. Well worth it. Pretty sizable portions so if you’re looking to split or share dishes to try multiple dishes you’ll definitely be able to and still have some left over.

Louie is worth the wait for a reservation. The Roast Chicken was delicious and masterfully done. The burrata was very good, and the house made breads are delicious as well. The cocktails were also very on point. To top it off, the manager at the bar was very social and electric which made for a good experience. Would highly recommend.

Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants! The ambiance and decor is on par. Warm and comforting space to spend time with friends and fabulous food. I have enjoyed everything I have eaten here. The roasted chicken is a favorite of mine. Tonight my girlfriend and I ordered two different specials and shared. We had sweet potato ravioli…heaven! And Halibut over farro. Also, delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. Cannot wait to go back!

Nestled away on DeMun, Louie is a culinary delight. With an eccle tic, but approachable, menu, Louie offers its own take on some traditional favorites. In addition to the delicious food, the staffs t Louie is top tier, and you will find excellent conversation as well as helpful advice on menu choices. All around an excellent experience. While Louie is not a fine dining establishment, it is on the small side so make sure to call a few days in advance for reservations.

My husband and I arrived as Louie opened. We didn't have recommendations, and I would recommend making reservations. The only two seats left inside at 5pm were at the bar in front of the pizza kitchen. These actually were the best two seats in the house! The staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations, and they are very intent on making an evening at Louie a great experience! The cocktails are great! The wine list contains a lot of Italian wines that are unique and very good! All of the food was delicious...including the house salad and the broccolini! We ordered the pizza special for the evening...butternut squash, spinach, and goat cheese on bechamel sauce...a delightful taste of fall! I highly recommend Louie for both the quality of service and food!

I hate writing about Louie because it’s already SUPER hard to get into. It’s by far one of my top 5 restaurants in St. Louis. The drinks are amazing. The food is amazing. The vibe is amazing. The servers are amazing. I’ve had pretty much everything on the menu and it’s all great. You literally cannot go wrong ordering anything on the menu. If I had to pick favorites, the Italian Salad and Prosciutto di Parma are my go-to starters (and during the summer, my favorite staple at Louie is the prosciutto with fresh peaches (it’s a MUST order)), the Margherita pizza is quite tasty (with perfect dough), and the Pappardelle Bolognese, the Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and the Mussels are the stand out mains.

This is a great date night place. They get really busy and it’s kind slightly difficult to get a reservation. They were very sweet to give us a free appetizer for a short wait with our reservation. Their food is amazing. I didn’t get the chance to take a picture of our main course since my husband and I wanted to put our phone away for the main meal. Desserts other hand, I ordered their Panna cotta and their cookies. I wasn’t such a big fan of the panna cotta. But overall, we had a great experience. Staff were so sweet and friendly. Definitely a great date night spot!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Those things may be Maria's favorite things, but me they are; Manhattans, Brussels Sprouts, a pork chop and a Old Fashioned and I can get them all at Louie. When I find all of my favorite things, on a menu it makes it easy for me to order. I got my night started with an Old Fashioned and Brussels Sprouts. They were both masterfully prepared, so I knew what was coming next would be equally as good. I was right, their Pork Chop with shishito peppers was superb. I love charred shishito peppers, they are so irresistible. My chop was grilled to perfection and was so juicy and tender. The Manhattan was smooth and accompanied the chop as well as a glass wine. Being a lone diner, I don't mind sitting at the bar. The night of my visit I was seated at the far-end, so I got to watch them use the pizza oven. It was like a floor show, while I dined. I may have been seated at the bar, but the service was still attentive and friendly. Louie is one of the culinary jewels of St. Louis.

Cozy, stylish restaurant on a great street. The service was phenomenal despite being very crowded on a Monday night. Nice cocktails. I had the special - halibut on white beans... just amazing. Fresh ingredients and nice portion. Will be back...

Everything was fantastic but as numerous people have stated, the chicken is perfection. Service was great. We sat at the bar and our server’s recommendations were spot-on. Definitely a place you must check out if you’re in St Louis. We almost don’t want to go anywhere else in the city as it will be a hard spot to beat!

Great service! Stellar food! Energetic vibe! From the focaccia to the hearth bread to the cookies for dessert; every baked good here shines! Generous portions, outstanding ingredients, innovative presentations. Hate to gush on a review because it will be even harder to get a reservation, but Louie is just that good! Thanks for a wonderful evening to the entire crew!

I honestly cannot wait for my next visit. The experience was beyond amazing. Though it is not on the menu, try Burrata if the waiter tells you it's available for the day. Their pork chop is the best pork chop I've ever had. Always ask for the rec cause they know what they are doing :)

Had a great dinner here! Friendly staff, delicious food, and good cocktail menu, what’s to be disappointed by. Try the industry sour cocktail! Highly recommend getting the polenta with mushrooms.

Wow! This place was so good! And so much food! We went here on a double date and I had been looking forward to it for weeks! It was little hard to get in but a Resy alert did the trick in no time. The space is really fun with a mix of contemporary and old-world styles. The large pizza oven in the back is also cool to see up close. The bar spans the whole length of the restaurant and seems like a fun place to hang out. To start, we got the Prosciutto and Parmesan half portion, which was more than enough. The Prosciutto was perfectly thin and delicious. We also got the fried cauliflower which was a big and heavy appetizer. The Dill Aioli was really good but I would probably skip this and instead indulge more in the focaccia table bread that was served. For dinner, I got the Roman Gnocco, which was kind of like a small Italian potato pie. It was different but definitely not pasta. Others got pizza, chicken (amazing and massive chicken), and Pappardelle Bolognese. All the dishes were of ample size and finished/plated really well. The meal was pricey but well worth it. People say that this is the THE Italian spot in Clayton and I would tend to agree. Everything, including the drink menus, was executed with a lot of care. Definitely try it!

Had a wonderful dinner at the bar! Very attentive service and delicious food. If you can get a reservation for a table or spot at the bar, you should go to try it! Highly recommended.

We had dinner at Louie and the food was amazing!! Really good and great potion size. Service was super friendly and we definitely would come back! Only „negative“ aspect: the tables are close together so it is extremely noisy/ loud when the restaurant is fully booked and it’s hard to follow a conversation.
