It is a really nice place. Quiet . I think you could definitely have a picnic there. I went on the first Saturday after Labor's day at about 2:30pm. The bridge looks very nice and there is a bit of history told in some of the signs. I loved the place.

A fun day trip down Highway 21 in Jefferson County to visit Sandy Creek Covered Bridge. A lovely place for a sunny Fall day. The leaves are lovely right now. This is a really nice historic site with a real covered bridge. I’m old enough to remember when it was still in use. Take a drive and check it out.

I had never seen a covered bridge before. So it was nice to see one. It looked like it was wel maintained. And it was quite close to the road so if you’re in the area it doesn’t take that long to stop there and take a quick look.

Absolutely beautiful. Peaceful and serene this is a great spot to relax and recharge. Picnic tables, charcoal grills and lovely scenery. I'd say this spot is more adult than kid friendly. No playground but good parking and amazing views. We visited the first of November. Still some beautiful foliage on the surrounding trees. The water was low enough to get on the creek bed. This is also a great place for a photo shoot; graduation pics, wedding photos or simply some nature photos.

What a gem. Beautiful park, little know historic place. My kids would have loved this when they were young.

This is a beautiful area. It was on my fall bucket list this year & I'm glad we made it. The drive was beautiful with all the trees changing color. The bridge was intriguing. It felt like you were stepping back in time. A great place for family/couple photos. Just be mindful of the people around. Also, if you have trouble walking, make sure you bring a cane and have good walking shoes. Definitely recommend visiting.

Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State park is a small, picturesque destination that highlights the history of covered bridges. It is one of four covered bridges left in the state of Missouri! You can walk across the bridge, splash in the creek below, enjoy the trails and picnic area. There are also informational displays that offer insight into the construction and history of covered bridges. Please note that this park is small in size. So, if you are looking for a full day of activities, you may want to combine your visit with nearby attractions. Tip: We combined our trip to here with a trip to Mastodon State Historic Site, which is about a 20-25 minute drive away. All in all, this small state park is a small step back in time and worth the visit!

Well preserved covered bridge. Stopped to check it out on a weekday. There were a few other people, but not many. Beautiful place. Walked across the bridge and then down to the creek.

If you like history you should love this place. This 1800's Howe-truss bridge was later covered to preserve the 150 plus wood and it is still looking great

It's was clean and plenty of picnic tables and trash bins. We toured the bridge after lunch and the creek was nice.

The bridge itself is neat. Seems to be in good shape as well. We went there as a spur of the moment thing so it was crowded with people getting professional photography shots done. Therefore we didn't stay long. But it looked neat. The thing that really grabbed my attention is how many couples are genuinely unhappy with each other between smiling photos.
