The first night, we couldn’t get served in the bar due to apparent staffing shortage while the hotel was busy. The bartender was not just busy, he was rude. When we finally got seated for dinner, the server was great but a steak came out cold. There was so much noise both nights we couldn’t sleep. The in room coffee maker was broken. There is no service to help take bags to the rooms and luggage dollies are sparse. The decor is extremely dated. I could handle one of these things but the combination is atrocious. I feel sorry for the staff. Our room was $400 for two nights. I had plenty of towels and the bed was comfortable, although the noise level was prohibitive of actual sleep. The second night we tried to order room service; Door Dash was faster. The facilities were clean.

This was a beautiful structure and clearly was top notch maybe in the 90's , however with all the amenities this place can still hold its own . The bar and restaurant was absolutely amazing and the food was really good . The parking area was plentiful and the pool was clean . My wife took advantage of the spa while I spent time killing ants back in the room on the 5th floor for the remainder of our stay. Everything else was fine from the kitchen to the enormous bathroom with his and her sink . I was kinda upset when I noticed a couple ants running across my dashboard upon leaving out stay-cation.

Mother's Day brunch at this location was okay. The cost per person was approximately $65, but it was NOT worth it. The location of the brunch looked like the room was thrown together at the last minute. The food was not hot. No staff monitored the food stations to ensure the food lids stayed down so the food could stay hot. The food was not good at all. And there was one man playing a guitar on a stag that wasn't decorated at all, but he had a nice voice. Overall, I wouldn't suggest the buffet for any occasion. The quality has diminished a lot since my last visit several years ago.

We had our wedding here and the accommodations were amazing. Carol, Latisha and the rest of the banquet staff really made our wedding special. Steve, Hagen and team on the restaurant side were also amazing from the rehearsal dinner to breakfast and lunch. Everyone was very caring and made sure we had what we needed! Highly recommend!

The air conditioner was so loud in the room that it woke me up every time it kicked on, and it’s too hot to turn it off completely. We had a staff conference and some of the event staff was rude. Front desk staff was very nice though. Beautiful location and facility.

Excellent spa services, great lunch, very relaxing atmosphere, and amazing technicians for the most part. Front desk staff were pleasant. Please ask questions when they assign the person to perform your massage. My massage therapist had a cold attitude and mediocre skills—- definitely not what I was expecting! Aside from that, I highly recommend and I will definitely be returning for another glorious experience ( with hopes of a better massage).

Went for a wedding. It was great but it was very warm compared to other venues. Could have turned the thermostat down. Other than that, staff was wonderful, spaces were nice, did not stay in a room so cannot rate those.

I was happily surprised when I arrived! I booked here for a work trip and had no idea what a hidden gem this place is. The whole staff has been friendly the entire time, servers in the restaurant provided excellent service, and the food was delicious! Great happy hour specials with patio dining, perfect to wind down and watch the sunset. So glad I stayed here, I’ll definitely be back!

It's a little off the beaten track, so for some people it might not be very convenient. But if you want a resort type hotel, especially one with a golf course, this is a good spot. The outdoor pool is really nice and makes this a nice place for the family. It looks like it caters greatly to the wedding crowd. But we weren't there for a wedding, so I can't say anything about that.

Wonderful atmosphere, there is always a nice gathering going on and a yearly golf tournament. The food is good at the Alexander fusion located in the lobby area. The greenery provides an amazing view and there's even an outdoor wedding set up available, most importantly friendly staff.

My agency had our annual holiday party there and it was certainly enjoyable. The salmon and veggies that were served, were tasteful, marinated, and tender. The roasted potatoes were seasoned and chewable. Certainly, my to-go meal when I am undecided and lack options. I was pleased with my entree provided.

Stayed in the two bedroom suite. It's a bit dated but still luxurious, and the views are breathtaking. Restaurant and room service are impeccable. All of my family members (self included) got married here and we absolutely love it.

I recently got married here. I have so many wonderful things to say about Turf Valley Resort. It was a beautiful setting and we received nonstop compliments about how delicious the food was. We really enjoyed having it at all inclusive venue. Paul and Carol were really great. However, there were a few small details that I was not happy about. We had a few issues reguarding a golfer/employee trying to kick us off the golf course while we were taking pictures and also received some comments about the hotel rooms being dirty/not cleaned. Other than that issue. We had a great time and unforgettable wedding!

We just got married here and I can’t recommend it enough. Great location, beautiful outside garden ceremonial site and inside area, plenty of parking, beautiful view. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. Carol, the catering and event managwr, is absolutely incredible and was so helpful the entire way through. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you. I cannot thank Turf Valley enough for making our special day absolutely perfect!!

I searched for hotels that are clean and this place was very clean, beautifully decorated, smelled good, the beds were very comfortable! We used the outdoor pool and fitness center while there. We got take out from Alexandra’s restaurant and it was good, although they missed a few details of condiments And silver ware that we didn’t notice till getting back to our room. So we had to go back downstairs to get those things, but the food was yummy. We had a great view of a beautiful golf course from our window. we were a very easy 20 minute drive from the Merriweather post Pavilion which was our reason for coming here. We’re felt safe here And We would definitely come back.

Someone below or above our room was chain smoking the entire time. I called to complain multiple times multiple days just to be told each time a manager wasn’t in and they couldn’t tell me when one would be. I just tried to book again months later just to be told I’m on the “don’t let them stay again” list because apparently we smoked in our room?!? I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. Horrible service.

Went to spa. Had a full body massage. My body thoroughly enjoyed. Then went to dinner. The food was excellent. The service was slow. Atmosphere was extremely noisy with the golfers celebration. I would go again, but I would not pick that time(5 pm) to go to that restaurant.

This hotel need renovation. Some part of building was already renovated. But most fo building was very old and rusty. Also, staffs were never smiling. They don't know about even basic service. I do not recommend this hotel and resort. The only good thing is location. If you like playing golf, you must play these courses. Resort guests can have discount to play golf.

There for a conference. The lobby and conference area are large, clean, and well appointed. The food at the conference is always plentiful and delicious. The location is very convenient and easily accessible. Did not spend the night and have not seen the rooms. Unable to review and rate.

Overall we had a good experience at Turf Valley, but there were definitely some hiccups. We needed a handicap accessible room for my dad that adjoined a family member's room. The room was definitely not handicap accessible. The room we were in was clean but very outdated. There were no USB outlets and very little accessible electric outlets. My husband could not plug in his phone by his bedside. The lighting in the bathroom was abysmal!!!! Ladies bring your lighted mirror. I had to bring in a lamp from the desk area to help, but it sure was not optimal for hair and makeup. The bedding was great, service was terrific. Our room was quiet but I can see that if you are near the bar/restaurant area it might be quite noisy.

The room was freshly redone and beautiful. The meeting rooms and food for our reunion were good. Restaurant had changed their hours and it wasn't consistent with anything posted in the hotel or even online, so that was extremely annoying. Also a couple weddings and those guests got really loud and apparently couldn't read the quiet time signs. The resort did they to tone them down. Otherwise, nice place. Beautiful area.

I don't go to the resort, but there is a shopping area with restaurants and a Harris Teeter. I do business with Petite Cellars which is a wine and beer spot that have tasting events and have a nice selection of all your adult beverages. The store card is great because you rack up points for discounts.

When to Turf Valley for Christmas Eve Brunch. The brunch was very nice. This may be a new family tradition. Waiter was a little short but the menu had enough for everyone to enjoy.

Good experience. An older resort with spacious, comfortable rooms with a view. Entire facility was well maintained and clean. Nice pool with plenty of outdoor seating. Decent selection and variety of food, but some dishes were a bit salty for my taste. A nice place for a return visit.

I’ve been to Turf Valley for NCAB conferences for the last at least 6 years (excluding 2020 and 2021) and every time it’s wonderful. The staff is always on point with the continental breakfast provided. They keep the area clean at all times and the lunch is usually amazing. I always look forward to going and I can’t wait to go back next year

My wife and I celebrated our wedding at Turf Valley earlier this year and they did an amazing job! Everything from their reasonable pricing to their professional attitude. From the start, we were completely in awe of the beautiful Garden ceremony space. It presented a picturesque backdrop that painted every moment with a touch of elegance. Also, our reception space, "Terrace on the Green," was just a short walk away and fit our every need. Each aspect of the venue was meticulously arranged and radiated a sense of warmth that was felt by every guest. The food was absolutely incredible! Everyone keeps telling us how it was the best wedding food they've ever had! The chefs were happy to accommodate some of our diet restricted guests, making some delicious vegan dishes. Not only did the cooks do a great job, but the resort's staff deserve a standing ovation for their unmatched professionalism and accommodations. They made communication a breeze, addressing every query, big or small, with patience and thorough understanding. This eased much of our pre-wedding stress and helped us focus on cherishing our special day. In conclusion, Turf Valley Resort delivers an exemplary wedding experience, blending exquisite spaces, phenomenal food, and a commendable team. It's a true five-star wedding venue!

The front/parking lot were under construction so not appealing. The inside was beautiful, the sauna and fitness room were nice but the beds were not comfortable and the double option is too small for my liking. The spa was closed 2 of the days I checked, and it's in the middle of nowhere. It left a lot to be desired.

The lady checking us in was not pleasant my friend had a couple of questions as she thought the room was paid for online and the lady made a scene and was not very good at explaining that the cars online is just for reserving room but you pay at resort in person. The rooms and facility is not giving resort vibes it’s very outdated some places have rust and it’s just not a resort more of a hotel with some extra amenities. Definitely not worth more than 160 so don’t waste hundreds of dollars here. They have a super expensive restaurant that isn’t worth it as well. The location is good close by to many shopping centers and restaurants.

It's been more than a year, but I felt like writing a review. For me, Turf Valley is away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to everything to be a nice launchpad. I had just finished a 10+ hour drive and was admittedly a little grumpy upon entering the lobby (not an excuse, just a reason). That being said, I appreciated that the front desk employees were so upbeat. They sort of snapped me out of my funk. It's a good place to stay. To echo what others have noted, the property does kind of have a 1990s vibe to it in some ways, but that's cool. Everything gets outdated before it can get updated, right? The bottom line: Turf Valley is a perfectly fine place with a top notch front desk team 🙂

Not sure what check in time was but my room wasn't ready until after 3pm. Desk clerk was supposed to call when it was ready, we called about 3 and they said oh we were just going to call you. We were there for a business conference so they must cater more to the golf crowd.

Do not book online 🤦🏽‍♀️. I wanted to give one star because of technical difficulties having me charged an extra $170 BUT, the room lives up to it all being worth it a little. And I ended up with a balcony over a cool view. I took this vacation so I wouldn’t have a brain aneurism because I was stressed OUT BUT, The concierge was also great at registration. I was frustrated but she wasn’t rude at all and was helpful so I was able to calm myself about the $170 loss.

We have stayed here 3 times now. The company I work for has its Christmas party here. Food is always top notch. We had a king size room, it was clean and the bed was was nice.

The resort is beautiful with a large, renovated lobby and a huge pool area. I had a fantastic facial with Rae at the spa. My only criticism is that the rooms are very old, and there were stains on the couch/chair. The screen door on my balcony was also broken and almost tipped over the edge when I tried to fix it. The food at Alexandra’s was fantastic. In the future, I would come back for a spa treatment or dinner, but not to stay in the hotel.

I absolutely loved coming to this resort but my last visit was so disappointing. We traveled with our furry baby and didn't experience any problems there. First the furniture is so outdated and the blankets are super thin. It's winter here and having a bed comforter is not rocket science. My husband believes he left his wedding band in the room which is totally his responsibility not the resorts. When I called to ask them to please have the cleaning staff look for it as they cleaned the room I was informed I would receive a call from the DIRECTOR of lost and found. I never received a call back. Enough said.

Rooms were extremely clean. Had dinner downstairs and our waiter Peyton was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and did not steer us wrong with the strawberry dessert! Really enjoyed our dinner experience.

Service staff was friendly and helpful. Room furniture was showing its age with wear and tear and the mattress was a little on the hard side. However the room was very spacious and clean. The hotel amenities like the pool and pickleball court were great! Overall a nice experience.

Enjoyed my time here. The room was large and spacious. Had dinner here two evenings the food was excellent. Had a very dirty martini the last evening enjoyed the seafood they had to offer. The filet was good, I ordered medium rare it came more medium but was tender and flavorful.

This is such a beautiful facility and far enough outside Baltimore and Washington DC to avoid traffic. I didn't golf, but wanted to very badly. The hotel staff from check in and for all our meals all week were amazing. They were always ready to answer any question and very responsive. The room had everything I wanted in it, was very clean and the water pressure is great. My only suggestion is get a room facing the golf course as the parking lot can be a little loud if you are over the lobby.

Great resort. Clean comfortable facilities. Sipping drinks from the poolside bar, in a cabana. Just like being in a fancy tropical resort without the travel. Great dining options in the area. Lots of historic sites to explore in the area. New favorite vacation spot.
