Before ever coming to Imam Reza (as), people told me, "You must come and see in person." Trully, I did not know what to think and what could be so great there. Until I arrived, and left, and my prayers have been answered in a much greater extent than I ever imagined. Indeed, it is impossible to describe it in words. Imam Reza (as) never turns his face away from the believer who beseeches God. There is nothing too difficult for him to achieve. He gives freely the best of everything, much better than anyone can ask for. Nobody ever returns empty handed!!!

The holiest place in IRAN and Mashhad, and one of the holiest places on earth for Shiites. Considered as one of 7 cities of love. Its spirituality along with its fabulous, fantastic architecture is definitely one of the MUST sees when you go to Mashhad. Just imagine that 30 million people go to Mashhad only for the sake of Imam Reza Holy shrine.

No words can define spirituality inside the shrine. It has very big entrance courtyard . No food is allowed .there is separate checking points fo female and male. Body search is compulsory to enter inside. Always crowded 24/7 but mostly at times of prayers . Water is easily available free of cost with disposable glass. Many volunteers are working to guide you. Mobile phone is allowed inside shirne but forbid to take pictures very near to zaree of imam raza a.s. you must remember the gate which you are entering as they are similar inside.you can face problem if you missed your gate to go back to your hotel.

Amazing and wonderful Shrine, you can imagine the beauty of the Zakhrafah (زخرفة) and the artistic touch in the architecture, here you feel peace and tranquility. A safe place, far from the hustle and bustle of life, peace of mind. And most importantly, you can find “yourself” in such a spiritual place, and strengthen your faith in God and trust in him. My advise to those who haven’t yet visited this place to visit it as soon as possible.🙏🏼

We have 12 Imam in our religion and only one of them has been buried in Mashhad which is located in the northern part of Iran. Ali ibn Moosa Al Reza who is known as Imam Reza is our eighth Imam and his Holi shrine has an amazing some made of gold. Each year there are lots of pilgrimages who travel to Mashhad to visit Imam Reza Holi's shrine because he performed many miracles for people who trust him. If you like to see gorgeous Islamic architecture this place will show you the power of Islamic art. When you go inside everywhere has an unbelievable mirror work as a decoration and a huge chandelier is hanging from the ceiling.

The Imam Reza shrine (Persian: حرم امام رضا, romanized: Haram-e Emâm Rezâ, lit. 'Sanctuary of Imam Reza') in Mashhad, Iran, is a complex which contains the mausoleum of Imam Reza, the eighth Imam of Twelver Shias. It is the largest mosque in the world by area. Also contained within the complex are the Goharshad Mosque, a museum, a library, four seminaries,[2] a cemetery, the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, a dining hall for pilgrims, vast prayer halls, and other buildings.

This holy shrine and the mosque is undoubtedly no less then the heaven itself for the true lovers of the 8th This vast structure is even visible from space And is one of the biggest mosques and shrines on the planet it contains multiple courtyards and multiple gates and maybe confusing for the first timers but its soo beautiful and vast that one wont even care after getting lost inside the boundaries All the wishes for the sick are fulfilled here Hats off to the maintenance team here the shrine is always kept clean Consider yourself lucky if you got a chance to touch the holy shrine because it is always crowded by the people from all over the world at any given time round the year

The shrine is nice and good atmosphere. But it has unfortunately become just a propaganda platform for the IR regime. Speakers full blasting and pictures everywhere, they shove the stuff down your throat untill you wanna throw up. LET RELIGIOUS PLACES BE; JUST RELIGIOUS, stop pouring your politics into these places.

Beautiful and outstandingly amazing. One of the most spiritual places I have visited. It's quite big, and you can easily get lost in it. Get a tour guide and be careful not to get scammed. They'll try to, so whenever they say a price, immediately say the half of it. Trust me on that one. And hope you have fun!

    ## A Haven of Spiritual Tranquility: A Review of the Imam Reza Holy Shrine Stepping into the Imam Reza Holy Shrine is like entering a portal to another realm, a place where the cares of the world melt away and the soul finds solace. The air hums with a palpable sense of peace, and the intricate beauty of the architecture inspires awe and wonder. From the moment you set foot in the vast courtyard, a sense of serenity washes over you. The golden dome, glinting in the sun, seems to beckon you closer, promising a glimpse of something divine. The delicate mosaics, elaborate carvings, and shimmering calligraphy all whisper stories of faith and devotion. As you approach the shrine itself, an atmosphere of profound reverence envelops you. Thousands of pilgrims, united in their faith, offer their prayers and supplications. The air vibrates with the melodic chanting of verses, transporting you to a realm beyond the ordinary. But the true magic of the Imam Reza Holy Shrine lies not just in its physical splendor, but in the spiritual energy that permeates every corner. It is a place where you can truly connect with your inner self, find inner peace, and release all the burdens that weigh you down. Your visit to the shrine is not simply a religious experience; it is a journey of self-discovery. As you walk amongst the pilgrims, you encounter a kaleidoscope of humanity, each with their own story and struggles. Yet, in this shared space of devotion, all differences fade away, replaced by a sense of unity and compassion. There are moments of quiet contemplation, where you can sit in the serene gardens and reflect on your life. Other times, you might find yourself swept up in the vibrant energy of the crowds, chanting prayers and sharing in the collective joy of faith. No matter what your experience, one thing is certain: the Imam Reza Holy Shrine leaves an indelible mark on your soul. It is a place where you can find solace, strength, and inspiration, a place that reminds you that you are not alone in this world. And so, it is no wonder that you yearn to return to this sacred space again and again. For the Imam Reza Holy Shrine is not just a place of worship; it is a sanctuary for the soul, a haven of peace in a world that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the transformative power of love.

I'm visiting this place since my childhood when we travel to Mashhad with my parents. The place is a gem you can watch it's islamic architecture for hours. Makes you calm to walk in courtyards or sitting in halls. If you're traveling to Mashhad you should visit it even if you're not a Muslim.

From the courtyards, external hallways named after scholars lead to the inner areas of the mosque. They are referred to as Bast (Sanctuary), since they were meant to be a safeguard for the shrine areas Bast Shaykh Toosi – leads to the Central Library Bast Shaykh Tabarsi Bast Shaykh Hur Ameli Bast Shaykh Baha'i The Bast hallways lead towards a total of 21 internal halls (Riwaq) which surround the burial chamber of Ali al-Ridha.Adjacent to the burial chamber is also a mosque dating back to the 10th century known as, Bala-e-Sar Mosque.

The sanctuary of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in Mashhad Al-Maqdisa is one of the most famous religious buildings built in Iran. The building, which has the richest characteristics and elements of Iranian-Islamic architecture, annually receives millions of visitors and tourists, and has been renovated and renovated several times so far. Mashhad, which was initially a small village built in Tus and in the village of Sanabad. This place became important after the burial of Harun al-Rashid in it, as it was known as the “Harounian Spot.” After the burial of Aaron and by order of Al-Ma'mun, a mausoleum was built around the tomb in the Khorasani architectural style. Before Imam Reza (peace be upon him) traveled to Merv, he informed his followers that this place would be his burial place. After the imam’s martyrdom in Tus, his pure body was buried in that spot, and its name was changed to “Mashhad al-Ridha.” The tomb of Harun al-Rashid until the era of the emergence of the "Sarabdaran" government could be seen under the imam's grave, but the Sarbadars erased Harun's tomb. Who built the first dome on the sanctuary? After the Imam's martyrdom, he was buried in the upper part of Aaron's tomb. This spot was repaired several times during the era of the “Samanids, Daylamites, and Ghaznavids” and decorations were added to it, but the first dome built over the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) was by order of Sultan Sanjar the Seljuk over the holy shrine. The type of this dome was made of qashi and muqarnas decorated with mirrors, and it remains until now. Sultan Muhammad Khwarizmshah also decorated this dome with the best types of qashi at that time and also issued an order to add two mihrabs to the sanctuary. The dome lighthouse was built in the Ghaznavid era by order of Ibn al-Mu'tazz, the ruler of Shiraz
