Terrible. Three of us seated at 6.30pm, and eventually ordered three meals at 7.20pm by going to the bar as no effective table service. Two of three meals came out 8.40pm, apparently miscommunication between kitchen and waiting staff who were all not coping. We ordered another meal but kitchen refused to provide another meal. Had to go to bar to order drinks while we were waiting as not enough staff to cope with even drinks orders. Food that did arrive was good, but overall service made us regret going and we left hungry and paid a big drinks bill because we were vainly waiting for our food for so long. Go elsewhere if they are busy you will not have a good night with the complete lack of service.

Can’t say too many good things about this place. First, the food portions were ridiculously small at that price point. I had the scallops, but it should have been named scallop, because there was only half. Okay fair, if it is fine dining then I can accept the small portions. However, even though the food was good it wasn’t exceptional. Also, the service was bad. During our dining they forgot to bring so many dishes which was awkward. Also the fresh coconut was definitely not fresh and the pasta was undercooked. To top it off, they add 10% tax to all dishes, but this was not listed in the menu, only the 5% service charge which I respect of course. This felt like a total rip off.

Lovely restaurant on the beach, feels really modern but traditional too with wooden furniture on the sand. The chicken katsu burger is their best seller and I can see why, the food was brilliant. Service great too, Adi was really friendly and a great host. If I had more time I would come back again!

Their food is good, but if your looking for good service & kind staff, go to Mama's Pizza or Barefoot Blondies, etc. So many better options where people will treat you with kindness & actually be thankful for your business.

One of the best locations on the seafront, with some seats in the shade. Great beach you can swim in, whilst enjoying cocktail from a lounger. Superb views. Consequently, is a lot busier than other seafront restaurants, a bit more expensive, and service was a bit slow as they process big orders. But you have to be happy waiting for your food looking at that view.

Awesome dinner place with a great sunset view. I love to have dinner with my feet in the sand and the ocean in front of me and that’s exactly what you get at Mowie’s. When we got there, they tried to give us the back room with no view (only 150m to the beach they said). We made a complain, they have agreed to give me a full refund and we moved to another hotel. UNTIL NOW, they havent refunded the amount we have paid and there was no response from them. When we were still in the island (2 nights), we kept coming back to them to ask for the money. They said they dont have cash and would transfer us the money. Total scam!

We booked a room for 2 nights at Mowie's as the last days of our trip to Gili islands. I must say we been quite disappointed by the room. Although quite new built with nice minimalist design, there was a very strong smell from the septic coming in the bathroom, so strong we almost wanted to avoid staying in the room. The bathroom was not cleaned well after previous guests either. Marks and prints on the glass, shampoo residue on the surfaces with hair and mould. Price per night was not cheap - even more then in 5 star in G. Trawangan where we stayed in before coming to G. Air ... I'm sure the staff and the owners must have known about the smell but decided to not do much about it and book us in the room anyway. Staff in the restaurant was slow and sloppy. (I waited 15 min for a can of soda it was not busy at all...) I have been coming to Gili Air in the past years and I heard the restaurant is popular for sunsets drinks but I really don't see the appeal. I would much rather recommend the Italian place just next

WHAT A PLACE TO STAY! Stayed at Mowies for 5 days and it was absolutely beautiful. The bungalows are steps away from the beach. The sunset views from MOWIES are absolutely fabulous. The staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. Mowies is in an amazing location just far enough away from the centre to be a little quieter but close enough to get into the center to visit places. The food at Mowies is also great we eat here a number of times during our stay and enjoyed everything we eat. Absolutely amazing place to stay and will be back in the future!

We had the tuna steak (recommended rare/medium) which comes with salad and 2 sauces. The gnochi was home made and very tasteful. Together with some young coconuts for hydration a great evening on the beautiful Gili Air island. Make sure you take your swim outfit with you anytime to take a dip in the blue water before the restaurant weither it would be before, during or after dinner ;-).

Our food and drinks every single day was consistent and incredibly delicious. Our room was cool, clean & spacious. It had an amazing out door shower and the aircon allowed for a relaxing nights sleep. This is the only spot for sunsets!!

We stayed at mowies for 3 nights while in Gili Air and it was a great start to our honeymoon! As soon as we arrived we were shown to our room and given free welcome smoothies which were amazing. We quickly got settled and asked the staff if they could find us bikes to rent for our entire trip, the bikes arrived in under 10 minutes. We ate at Mowies multiple times for breakfast and for supper, and the food was so good every time (I'm still dreaming about the chicken coconut curry) Mowies is clearly the place to be to watch the sunset as it quickly became busy but we always had a great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy delicious drinks! The only negative thing I have to say is that the air conditioning could be stronger as it was a little bit hard to sleep at night, but it's not Mowies fault that it was 38 degrees outside.

One of the best places we stayed in months. Mowie‘s is a total Hotspot on Gili Air. The kitchen is great and the location is perfect to catch the sunset. The rooms are a bit in the back so it’s still quite at all times. Side note: The mattresses are amazing, so look forward to the best night sleep you had in a while.
