Careful, avoid come here after rain or the next day after rain. The road will be very slippery because when you leave gerupuk beach area there’s no asphalt anymore, only gravel road. There’s 2 route, via gerupuk beach (choose this one) and the other one was a shortcut (don’t take this route, it’s a difficult route).

Not what it used to be before. The view from the cave is nice, however, what happened to all the greens on the hills? They are cutting it and putting the hills on fire. Idk if there is a construction planned or this has to be done seasonally, but it’s very sad.

This is one of those places that not many people know of, but is absolutely stunning. Even though the road to this place is kind of challenging, it is easy enough to follow. You can ride a motorbike from Tanjung Aan towards the direction of Gepuruk(?), and go uphill until there's a hut. Just leave your bike there and climb the hill a little bit. At the end there is an opening. Enter that cave and from there you can see the ocean from above.

Easy to acces from the back of the hill. Park you scooter on the 'main' road showed by google maps. Hike to the top of the hill (5min) and then you will see the viewpoint.

Beautiful place where you can see all Tanjung A'an from height, the views in road to Gua Kotak are very beautiful. Gua Kotak can be accessed by using motorcycle through small road from Gerupuk Village. If you want to visit Gua Kotak, better prepare yourself for a little offroad adventure 😉

The cave itself is not a big attraction, but it's nice to climb up the hill and look around. I can imagine it's a great sunset spot. The road is a bit rocky, so you have to walk a bit if you have no off-road experience. Local people grow corn in the area, and we didn't find anything interesting other than the hill - and maybe some beaches without shadow. I saw some people from the cave snorkeling down there.

Cool place to explore, with an isolated lookout. I wouldnt go here if you dont have good skills on a bike or if it been raining. But if you can ride and its dry its a good adventure.

Very peacefull, no people all around, you can go almost up to the hill. Road was OK. Nice view. No parking fee or entrance or begging people around. Please keep this spot clean. Google maps took us little tricky way but we reach our aim. Go through village.

I don’t think it’s worth it to go here. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere and the road to get there is very muddy, bumpy and rough. It’s quite challenging to get there on the scooter. You go to the top of the hill and even there you find a bunch of plastic everywhere. Even inside the cave and close to the small window. Plastic is all over the place. It’s so frustrating to see the lack of awareness in the local communities, it feels you are walking on a trash bin all the time. Don’t go there unless you are in explorer mood otherwise, it takes too much time for nothing.

Absolutely stunning spot to see the sunset over Tanjung Aan. Easily accessible by bike via Gerupuk passing Tanjung Aan. A bit of a uphill climb. But totally with the effort for some stunning pictures and views.

The map directs you to the right spot! The drive here from Tanjung Aan beach is short but tricky - we left the scooter about 1 km from the end and walked the rest - the walk only took about 20 minutes (there's a small amount of uphill). But it's 100% worth it! We were there for the beginning of sunset and the view (even before sunset) was unbelievable. Absolutely epic spot - quiet and peaceful with stunning views of the bay/oceans/mountains.

Not the best place for sunset, specially not for photography, but if you want to be alone, that's the place for you.

My visit was in 23 dec 2017, it was raining season. I can reach the top because cant access the route. Even try from the beach also difficult to reach.

The sunset is super spectacular. No one else, we had this beauty to ourselves. Follow the ridge to the fork and walk to the left path to find the cave.
