Does not get much better than this. Can be reached by day hike or several days hike, with sleepover in the campsites on the rim. The views are extra good as you can see Rinjani summit, the rim, lake, volcano and Bali including Mount Agung in the other side. The trail here from the lake is pretty treacherous, should be avoided if possible in the dark. Also, it is advised to be taken from the lake, not to the lake, due to being steep and more dangerous going down.

This is a spectacular camping spot. Sunrise and sunset amazing with the top of Rinjani in front. It is a perfect place to camp after the first part of the climb. Next we camped on the lake shore in the crater before the final ascent to the top starting at 1am. We did it solo with a friend back in 1996, but I would recommend a guide if you're not familiar with challenging trekkings.

The view on craterrim is magnificent, the climb is exhausting. Camping area on craterrim is really dirty. Such a pity people don't bring their garbage back down.

Almost 8 hours hike with 2000m elevation gained. But the view deserves!

Love the view of the Gili's, Bali and Lake from here. Access to the second summit, Mount Sangkareang, is from this rim. Also access to the lake from here. Please be careful. Going down from here to the lake can be a challenge based on your abilities. If you want a quiter and cleaner camp spot go to the left of the main camp site on top of the ridge, looking up look for the first ridge to the left and go to it or furter east.

Amazing scenic views, definitely worth the trek - but pack for the overnight cold and potential rain!

Segara anak is good camping place, but I've disturbed with people who don't keep the clean,  In one night I don't realize that I sit on fresh of shit💩💩💩💩💩💩

Beautiful climb and views from top. The last section is a bit of a thought climb as it is very sandy and you'll find yourself moonwalking, especially if you are around 90kg as me 🙃 I would advise to carry chocolates or candy with you as the breakfast provided was insufficient energy for the task. Without my chocolates I would have clearly hit the wall.
