I'd describe this more like a real forest compared to Ubud monkey forest, which is more like a dense tourist attraction. Monkeys here are more shy, and less likely to attack/steal your belongings, so I enjoyed it more. It took some time to actually see some monkeys, but after around 30 minutes of walking, we saw 6 black monkeys and then more on the way back. Definitely recommended if you like walking in peaceful forests.

We walked 1hour before finding around 15 monkeys!! You need to be very careful and listen to the noise (and look up of course) but they are here and they are many!! Try the small pathways, no guide needed for us

Nice forest. Dont pay any entrance, its a normal forest you can enter from many sides. If you will be lucky you will see some monkeys. Try to walk further from all ppl. Guide might help but we saw a group of monkeys after 20-30min of walking.

These monkeys are wild and are not tame like other Monkey Forest attractions. This makes for a more wild safari feel as apposed to a tourist attraction. The monkeys are Local to Lombok only so you won't see them anywhere else. A rare treat

Really serene place to walk around. Many homestays in the area offer a guided tour but if you wander in and stay on the trails you will most likely see the black monkeys as well as local bird species.

Although we didn't see the black monkeys (we did see others), walking through the forest is tranquil. In amongst nature, with this peaceful setting. Trekking deeper into the forest likely brings positive results with searching for the black monkeys.

We ended up paying 30k each to enter which now we know we probably didn’t need to! Don’t fall for the guides you really don’t need them!!! Be adventurous and you’ll see the black monkeys. So nice that the wildlife here is still shy and won’t interact with humans.

Lovely forest. You don't need a guide to walk around. We were able to find some black monkeys. The only tricky thing is that the map marking doesn't necessarily match the exact location so just ask around when you're in the area.

Nice attraction. You have to walk around a little to find the monkey but not that hard. I was able to see both black and grey ones in a couple hours. Pro tip: go right at the cross roads, then you can enter for free and the monkeys are also that way.

the forest is nice, but people are driving around in scooters. I got to see the black monkeys, which was cool, but I’m surprised they’re even there with all the people around. Btw you can just walk around here, no guide or ticket necessary. Guide might be helpful to find the monkeys though.

Nice walk in the forest. We were lucky and saw the monkeys really easily with the help of a local guide

Hiked for a while along both the main and separate paths, didn’t see any monkeys so gave up and went back to the exit. About 200m away from the road we saw almost 30 black monkeys! It was amazing to watch them play. Along the road walking back to the entrance there were lots of grey monkeys playing on the ground and low in the trees. Entry is 30K. There are toilets and restaurants at the entrance. The walk is relatively easy but can be slippery and uneven so wear good shoes and take care.

To be honest I never went in! We drove around, and just passed the establishment there was an area to stop were we had at least 20 monkeys entertain us for 20 minutes Be careful if you attempt to feed them, because they are cute until the food runs out. The alpha monkeys can be quite aggressive and all of them are very intelligent and know exactly were you store your food and r/juice in your rucksack! They'll jump and play on your scooter until the novelty wears off, but NB!!! - take your key out, they love shiny things and you'll never get it back Please remember these are wild, don't attempt to touch them!

😠 Tourist ripoff, at the entrance to the park they wanted to sell me a ticket for 150.000 Rupiah or 12 dollars which is just ridiculous. Then a guy wanted to let me pay for parking after I decided to leave. So just don't go there, there are nice waterfalls everywhere where they don't try to steal from...

😠 AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST!!! Do not ever come here as this is not worth it! This waterfall is tiny and very difficult to get here. Local people that live next to the waterfall are very bad and they only want money, then they do not help. They take money and show the wrong way to the waterfall. Th...
