I
stayed
there
almost
a
year
ago
(May
5-7,
2015),
so
please
bear
in
mind
that
not
all
of
my
experiences
can
be
remembered
as
well
as
I
might
like.
Two
friends
and
I
stumbled
upon
Asoka
largely
by
accident,
and
I'm
very
glad
we
did.
The
location
is
wonderful
--
really
just
a
two
minute
walk
from
the
main
strip
of
Senggigi,
but
far
enough
back
that
things
start
to
get
quiet(er),
and
not
at
all
hard
to
find.
As
to
the
main
things
a
good
backpacker
keeps
an
eye
out
for:
-
Rent:
We
got
the
place
for
a
pretty
reasonable
price,
Rp.
180k.
We
spent
some
time
haggling
for
it,
but
that's
normal
anyways.
-
Breakfast:
Included,
and
it
was
delicious.
Tea/coffee
was
included,
a
great
plus.
-
Beds:
Actually
comfortable,
and
they
were
also
clean
when
we
got
there.
-
The
owners
and
family
were
all
swell
folks,
friendly
and
able
to
communicate
some
important
things
we
had
questions
about.
-
WiFi
was
included,
and
seemed
to
be
a
decent
connection.
Not
a
huge
deal
for
many
people,
but
every
once
in
a
while
being
able
to
write
an
email
to
loved
ones
is
nice...
The
three
of
us
at
one
point
also
went
for
a
night
hike
into
the
hills
behind
Senggigi,
right
from
the
end
of
the
road
Asoka
is
on.
Pretty
much
just
straight
up
into
the
bush,
until
we
found
another
and
smaller
road
which
we
followed
for
about
two
hours
--
and
the
view
was
a
real
beaut!
The
same
night
we
walked
into
the
back
roads,
wandering
around,
and
a
local
family
invited
in
for
coffee
when
they
correctly
assumed
we
had
no
real
idea
where
we
were
going.
And,
the
next
day,
we
had
lunch
with
three
construction
workers
building
up
the
second
level
of
Asoka
(the
noise
didn't
even
bother
us),
and
one
of
them
turned
out
to
be
a
relation
to
one
of
the
owners,
a
nice
little
connection.
I
give
Asoka
four
stars
as
relative
to
other
homestays
I've
been
to
in
Indonesia.
I
hold
back
that
last
star
only
because
of
a
few
minor
things
that
could
have
been
improved
--
like
a
few
things
about
the
bathroom
--
but
really,
getting
into
complaints
about
that
is
a
bit
snobby
(not
to
mention,
these
things
may
have
been
fixed
in
the
year
since).
Compared
to
some
other
places
I've
slept,
Asoka
was
fantastic!
