Beautiful views, easy access via the metro and if you are exhausted from climbing stairs they even have escalators going up and down. Its a popular spot so expect it to be crowded from early till late. In the evenings they have a fantastic water and light show at the big fountain. We didn't go inside the palace but there was plenty to see out and around it.

Nice lively area. Unfortunately the fountain is off during the colder months. But it's a great place to walk around.

This square and the surrounding space are very beautiful both during the day and in the night light, especially the fountains that are located along the street and end up in a magical fountain! I recommend that you do not miss this place when visiting Barcelona.

I fell in love with this square from the first glance. It is very pleasant place to be from the esthetic point of view. Any direction you turn your head to, you see something interesting and attractive and you can't just stop taking photos of the things you look at.

This place is one of my favourites in Barcelona, especially during spring when it’s not that hot to take the stairs to enjoy the amazing view from the top. If you don’t like stairs maybe this is not the place for you, but the also have some elevators you could use.

Really cool and huge roundabout with nice views of the towers and a big church / city hall thing? We got the bus to the airport from here so didn't have the chance to go see what was down there but I'd recommend it anyway as it looked great

One of the best parts to visit in Barcelona. Surrounded by many iconic places. Centre of major events. Great point to travel from/to. Good area to stay while in the city.

On top of the shopping mall you get the most incredible view over this part of the town. There's a metro and bus stations.

A beautiful and wonderful place. There is an electric elevator. If you want to take some pictures of the roundabout and the towers, there is a fee. A cheap ticket. If you want to go up to the towers, you have to go early because it is crowded.

There are a nice connection of the transports. And they have also a small shopping mall. But be careful about the bitcoin machine before make any purchases.

Placa that you must visit in Barcelona. The climb to the art museum is easy because they have escalators. The midnight fountains have a musical performance with light effects. Cafes offer you refreshments, and the experience of the view itself is fantastic. You must visit and perhaps read the history and meaning of this place in advance to know where you are coming.

Lively fireworks on NYE. Saw them from Axel Hotel in the gayborhood. Walked there on New Year's Day, was a lot quieter. Beautiful and grand and surrounded by lots of history.

Lots of repairs, much noise due to them. The square is beautiful,Special festivity is given by crowds of kids with parents--they are lined to be admitted to the 'Infants' Christmas/New year's event". A joyful time for all.

We came just after the day of La Diada, the Catalunya indepence day, and the whole place was so trashed. Haha. However, it was beautiful. The view is unique. And also the Arenas Mall nearby has a great view of the Plaça d'Espanya too. I recommend you get up to the both places to see the views from up there. It is a beautiful central city view.

We turned up via metro right into the middle of a concert. Very busy. Fountains came on at 9pm and was worth the squeeze. Had been warned of pickpockets but saw no signs of any. Had a great meal just off the central square.

Beautiful central plaza that initiates access to the magical fountain. Easily reached by Meteo, there is a large shopping center next to the square from which you can enjoy a fantastic view.

One of the largest squares in Barcelona. It was inaugurated in 1929 when the city hosted the International Exposition. Almost every thing in the square is related to that event. On one side there are the Venetian Towers where the main gate to the grounds of the expostion was located. On the other side there is the bullfighting arena that was turned into a shopping mall. Right after the towers, Queen Cristina Ave. Leads to the Majic Fountain and The National Palace for Arts, Barcelona's finest museum. Also nearby is Mies van der Rohe famous German pavillion built for the exposition. Three metro lines stop at the plaza and many bus lines.

Such a fun place to take pictures and see the amazing view of the city. They have escalators on both sides going up that make it so easy to explore. It's def worth the time to visit!

This is beautiful and impressive place. Barcelona’s Plaça d’Espanya (Spain’s Square) was constructed for the 1929 International Exhibition. It is one of the largest and most important squares in Barna, as the city is colloquially called. The square measures 34,000 square meters, which makes it not only one of the city’s greatest squares, but also one of the largest in the country.
