It's absolutely beautiful. The wood work, the wrought iron workmanship is unbelievable. The pillars design in the old Stables under the Palace and the way the stalls worked with them. It was interesting experience. However I skipped most of the audio guide. The were like more than 20 tracks and some of them were quite long. It would be nice to have some short version. The best view is on the top floor where you can look at the floor and watch most of the space at once. The price is a bit high though.

Palau Güell is a hidden beauty in the heart of Barcelona (next to la Rambla). the ticket is not expensive at all (5€) and it is really worthy! The tour is well organised too.

So we visited on a Wednesday, about midday'sh. The first peculiarity was that you actually buy your tickets 3 doors down the street at a kiosk in the wall. We got 2xpensionistas (65+) and 1xdiscapasidados (disability) tickets at reduced rates. My daughter is not physically disabled, but I believe there is a lift to all floors and the rooftop. We each got a guide handset and a headset, but I personally found it a bit cumbersome, at least to start with. Getting to grips with the handset and the route, first downstairs to the stables area, then back up and upstairs through the various rooms and finally on to the rooftop area. For the price I thought it was worth the money. Allow a good couple of hours to enjoy the beautiful decorations and architecture. Unfortunately, a projected movie in one of the rooms was not working as this would have given us even more insight into this history. There was like a mini exhibition just before you get to the rooftop to see the best bit, the chimneys!!! I must say that I was previously in Barcelona some years ago at Hotel Gaudi across the street where we could see the rooftop from our balcony and that is why I decided to visit Pallau Guell. I believe they still do a free visit day, but from my previous experience it was very well attended, but if you don't mind queueing.

A change for Antoni Gaudi,this austere looking building from the outside doesn't give a hint of what awaits inside. Found on the Nou de la Rambla( just off the main La Rambla). Home to the Guell family- wealthy industrialist and life long patron of Gaudi. Only the best materials and craftsmen were used. A spiral carriage ramp leads down to stables for the horses. Self guided tours take you through the house and then onto the roof with it's decorated chimneys.
