I did not rate this house/'palace' at all! It costs 12€ for general entry, which I think is severely overpriced. I am not denying that there was obviously a lot of love that went into the actual construction of the building. But there was hardly anything in there - almost all the rooms were empty not even any furniture?! The main hall was a beautiful room, but again not really any displays or anything. I will say that the staff were very friendly, and the mosaic pillars at the top were pretty. But not enough to justify 12€. I would not recommend this, save your money for other sites.

Access to the Palace is free on the first Sunday of the month, although you do need to book the tickets beforehand, which you can do on the preceding Monday onwards, and they do tend to be all allocated very quickly. The visitors are limited as well, which means that it's not crowded, and a benefit of that is that I was able to take several photos with nobody else in them. There's a gift shop as well as toilets, and when you first enter you have to go through a metal detector, there are also lockers where you can leave your rucksacks, although the lockers are not very big.

While many Gaudi buildings are extraordinary from the outside, this one is a bit more 'normal'. Which is probably why it cheaper to get in than others. But while inside, it's amazing and worth the time. He really is everywhere in this beautiful home, and it's lovely to see. Make sure to go on a nicer day out, as the terrace is a special surprise but closes when it rains.

This palace was truly amazing. It's hard to appreciate the complexity of the design until you actually walk around it! I highly recommend downloading the app and listening to the (free) audioguide, there's limited signage so the extra information really helps. There's also a choice of various length tours. When we went (a Friday) it was pretty quiet, with plenty of space to explore at our own pace, whilst listening to the guide. The views from the rooftop is amazing, and can see plenty of Barcelona landmarks. Finally, it's super affordable (10-12 euro/ea), and should be a part of any visit.

Guell Palace remarkable in detail, lets you discover it floor by floor to the wonderful terrace. I had the pleasure to listen to jazz rhythms visiting this terrace. I bought tickets from there, there was no one in line, I went on a Thursday night towards the end of the program. quite a few visitors. but it was so good that I could admire in silence. wonderful, I recommend it for visiting!

Great value for a glimpse at 19th century Barcelona and the early architectural works of Gaudi. The free tour app is great to learn about the building but remember to take your earphones! Fascinating from the foundation level to the roof!

Beautiful palace that Gaudí built for his friend and biggest client. It's beautiful inside and out. Gaudi' genius at every turn. Picturesque rooftop with nice view. The audio guide that included in the ticket will lead you through the house. Must visit while in Barcelona.

Great experience, especially the roof! Also with kids (ours is 9) it's a great visit. We took the included audio tour which has a special kids version. A next visit this will again be on our to do list :)

€12 per person, there was no line up when we arrived around 12PM. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Audio guide available almost in every language and explains the whole tour nicely. Definitely worth the visit. The entire tour will take around 30-45 mins. The only reason why I’m not giving 5 stars it’s because of the missing furniture pieces and castle items.

€9 for a student ticket and it came with a wonderful audio guide that was very interesting and informative. A truly wonderful example of Gaudí's architectural genius. The central hall was a stroke of absolute genius, with wonderful acoustics. They played a song on the organ in the central hall to show how sound travels throughout the whole palace. Would recommend!

You won’t be disappointed with this visit to this “house” of the genius architect Gaudi. The house is full of beautiful design details; the fireplace, the walls, the doors, and the ceiling. I love how Gaudi designed this ceiling very much and it’s my favorite part of this house. Upon arriving on the rooftop you won’t wonder whether or not it was worth your time. The audio guide is easy to install on your phone with the wifi. It'll be helpful to bring your own headphones to listen during your visit if you are planning to visit without a tour. It's a ‘must visit’ place in Barcelona, especially for someone who is in love with Gaudi’s architecture.

After walking around Barcelona without any destinations and passing by the Guell palace twice and hesitating to pay the entrance fee, finally decided to pay it since we have never visited a museum in spain. Absolute worth the money if you have never... 1. Been to a mansion 2. Get bored of museums 3. Want to see how the heck an entire building was built for a family 4. Are curious how a family used over 20 rooms for themselves Very impressed by the layout and the number of rooms and stairs and how well it was maintained.

Another Gaudi’s work, this one is in early age and it is in El Raval neighbourhood. This hidden gem used a lot of different materials, ironwork, stone and of course pottery. The irongate definitely is one of the most eye-catching part! Also, there are a lot of new concept of space and lighting in that time, alongside with various decorative details!

After seeing a couple Gaudi places, it made me want to see more. This mansion is majestic in the architecture as you move from one room to the next. My favorite being at the top. It costs 12 euros for general admission. Plan to spend 2-3 hours. Not very crowded.

Beautiful and definitely worth visiting for all the fans of architecture. Audio guide is also helpful and they offer three kinds: 25 min short tour, 1:05 long tour and 40 min tour for children. The roof terrace is probably the best part.

In my view this is a very underrated tourist attraction. This is a masterpiece of Gaudi and worth visiting by every fan of this architect. Entry was just 5€ and we enjoyed every moment with audioguide in almost empty halls of this beautiful building.

This palace seems unassuming and is less beautiful and impressive on the outside than some of Gaudi's other homes... but not on the inside! It deserves its label of Palace and is truly awe-inspiring in its level of detail and intricacy. One of my favorite new discoveries in Barcelona!

I think I'm missing something here. It was just like a big house with lots of empty rooms. The architecture was nice and all but I couldn't really say I was blown away.... probably worth only going to see if you have done some research! Felt quite pricey for what it was and would rather explore the park instead and see a lot of the architecture from the outside to avoid the charges.

I recommend taking the guided tour to make the most of your visit, even though there are audio guides available as well. The ticket costs 12 euros and it's totally worth it. The Palau is very well preserved. The views from the roof are spectacular.

This treasure of a palatial home should not be missed, especially by anyone that appreciates how design, architecture, engineering, and construction can come together to create something unique and lasting. The revered Spanish architect, Gaudi did something remarkable here. From the basement to the roof he surprises with design details, fine materials and superior workmanship. If you pay careful attention you will realize that the entire lower floor has hardly a straight line anywhere. Everything is graceful curves all apparently designed to support the rest of this huge house. So much more to see in this wonderful place.

Great place to see if you are looking for some of the best Gaudi design. The house he designed for Guell is really a masterpiece. The tickets are at a fair price in comparison to some other places in Barcelona and you do not need to book in advance. The audio tour is very informative (included in the ticket price) and the whole visit to the house - top to bottom - takes around an hour.

Very much an "You have to use your imagination" sort of place. Almost every room is completely bare. They explain why there's no furniture remaining, but that doesn't explain why at 12€ a ticket, they can't afford to do some cheap reproductions at least. They have many pictures of what it used to look like in a somewhat disorienting video in one room. (It's like the video editor wanted to make it seem like a video game. It made my friend dizzy.) The foyer is pretty enough, and some ceilings are cool but it's not nearly enough to warrant the price or waste of time seeing the rest of the place. If you're not going to decorate, only open the foyer and roof. Nothing interesting to see. It's worth maybe 5€ and 15 minutes of your time. Reminded me a lot of Alhamabra which suffers the same issue of boring, empty rooms but at least that place has some impressive architectural details and a beautiful garden. (The details in this building are just typical Gaudí, but nothing special. You see the same stuff all over Barcelona streets and buildings.) Just a lot of boring, bare rooms and a fairly underwhelming rooftop. Views are nothing great. If you have nothing else to do and want to spend 30 minutes indoors, then it's fine. It was barely crowded at all in October, except on the rooftop.

(Translated by Google) He never tires of visiting it or recommending it to friends who come to Barcelona. The Barcelona businessman and patron Eusebi Güell commissioned his friend Gaudí to build his family residence, which was also to be a meeting point for the bourgeoisie at the time. It is the first major work that Eusebi Güell entrusted to Gaudí and stands out for how the architect conceived space and light.

Amazing house it is! This place has wired but interesting shapes all around in this house. Of course each rooms have great furniture and decorations. But especially I love the stuffs on the roof! Looks packed everyday but you can get in easily in early morning! Just located in narrow street but gorgeous! Enjoy!

Exceeded expectations. Had it on my list and walked past, decided to stop as €5 seemed like a good amount spend here in Barcelona where lots of things are just over priced. Very friendly coworkers. Love the wifi and suggestions with the autoguide. Worked smoothly and was easy and quick to install. Then comes the palace. Simply to say: wow! I did not expect that. It was so beautiful and stunning. So many rooms, the full hour orgen was playing and the rooftop with an amazing view and the Gaudi chimneys. Highly recommend. No, it's a must do!

Another great building made by Gaudí for his patron Count Güell with amazing mixture of tradition and stylised modernism. On the roof you can enjoy in a great view not only of 20 famous Gaudí chimneys made in a form of genuine sculptures but you have great view of Barcelona, too. Don't miss the souvenir shop with great selection of gifts.

A gorgeous marvel on the inside. We didn't get to see the roof terrace due to rainy weather, but I still think it was well worth the 12€. The audio is extremely easy to follow; informative but brief. I was blown away by the main hall, and then the organ began to play! Or at least a recording. Either way, it was fascinating to experience the music swelling throughout the space as people used to.

Absolutely stunning. We came for the first ticket time of the day (10:00am) and it was nice and quiet. We bought tickets in advance, however, it seems like the weekday tickets do not sell out in the morning. You will pass through security upon arrival, and food and beverage should not be brought in. Be careful on the roof, as it is very angled.

Incredible detailed house. Every place you look at you find another detail worth paying attention to. Though we visited the palace on Saturday, we could easily buy tickets and could get in at ~10:00 with 5-5 mins wait time. Must see piece from the basement to the roof. Practically the tour runs between them. Every room/hall/stair/window/furniture/.... has extraordinary, spectacular and sometimes very practical features.

If you are strolling on La Rambla get one step out of your way and visit this place - you will not regret it . At the first sight I didn't know how to feel about it ,as it was one of the first pit stops on our trip to Spain.. But now, after completing our trip ,I finally get it ..Spain is a whole " experience " in itself : the vibes , the nature , the people, the culture...they fill up your heart in such a big way ! Gaudi must have felt the same and wanted to share this through his genius art . The inside of the house takes you a century back in time: try to picture yourself dressed in the moment and living a lavish life-style at the end of the 19th century ... But once you get on the roof ,the shapes. the colors, the lights take you to a whole different level : " Barcelona" state of mind : embrace it and take it all in , you're now hooked for life ...

I am conflicted about this visit because from an architectural standpoint it is a very interesting place, the use of it's limited space, of exquisite materials and very well presented. But... On the other hand, I felt ennerved by the not-so-subtle boast of wealth (Güell's) in a very constricted space -in between two neighboring buildings, which lead to a castle-y feel (on the inside-not on the outside). There is a feeling of overstuffing of the place with (expensive) stone, marbles, etc and amazing wooden intricacies as if to amaze anyone invited. And yet, for all its ostentation, a sober and somber, jail-like (the metalwork on windows & door covers) feeling prevails...What was the only saving grace was the main hall's very high ceilings, opening up the closed atmosphere. No wonder Güell's wife did not feel comfortable here!! Too many straight angles shows Gaudi still following the standard guidelines, perhaps just acquiescing to all requested of him, which is diametrically opposite to what you see in park Güell or what would be Gaudí's later organic lines in all the work he's known for. I WOULD suggest the visit - as you get to see the whole house-, but keep your expectations as per Gaudi's work..."open".

(Translated by Google) The area is truly scary with everything there is about people with very bad looks, not going with watches or anything of value because it depends on the time they steal from you. Once inside, things change because at the end of the day it is a palace in the midst of decadence or in the middle of the Raval. Impressive how it is taken care of and the details that each wall, each floor, each column has, a visual delight if you appreciate art a little. The personal is ver kind and helpful. It could be a little cheaper € 11 for 1 hour or so of visit. (Translated by Google) Very nice to look at and extremely entertaining. Only partially suitable for wheelchair users Here, too, one thing remains to be said: you should have seen it if you had a few days in Barcelona. You learn a lot about Gaudí, its beginnings and sponsors. The natural shape that runs through the entire palace can already be found here, which should make Gaudi unmistakable even in later years. The Palau Güell is beautifully embedded in the old town of Barcelona. Starting from the Catalunya metro station, you can cross the La Rambla left and right and pass fantastic places / places and is a little depressed that you ultimately have too little time to absorb everything. The palace itself is unfortunately only partially suitable for wheelchair users. with narrow folding wheelchairs, they can be used sensibly by the always friendly service staff. Folding wheelchairs are available for sports and rigid frames, which can be converted if necessary. Unfortunately, the jewel of the house, the roof, is unfortunately not accessible. All in all, still highly recommended. The entry for wheelchair users and pensioners was free in our case, so that we had to pay only 9 € with 3 people. Alles in allem trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert. Der Eintritt für Rollifahrer und Rentner war in unserem Fall frei, sodass wir mit 3 Personen lediglich 9€ zahlen mussten.

It's absolutely beautiful. The wood work, the wrought iron workmanship is unbelievable. The pillars design in the old Stables under the Palace and the way the stalls worked with them. The stain glass, wrought iron workmanship and shutter system to control light and circulation. It's definitely is correct to be under the World Heritage Sites. It's a must see if your in Barcelona.

It was interesting experience. However I skipped most of the audio guide. The were like more than 20 tracks and some of them were quite long. It would be nice to have some short version. The best view is on the top floor where you can look at the floor and watch most of the space at once. The price is a bit high though.

This Gaudi’s work beauty is usually not enough considered because of the architect’s other more famous and colourful buildings. Palau Güell is a hidden beauty in the heart of Barcelona (next to la Rambla). the ticket is not expensive at all (5€) and it is really worthy! The tour is well organised too.

I definitely recommend if you want to see a beautiful building by Gaudí and dont want to be surrounded by tourists. In the center of Barcelona for little money. The interior is really beautiful even with access to the roofs.

What a treat it is if you're a hard core 'Gaudinian' like me! Everything in the 'house' this man built and designed for Mr. Güell is a surprising solution to distribution of spaces, to air flow, and to bringing nature in. But it's also, beautiful everywhere you look: floors, ceilings, lamps, chimneys, specially the chimney-tops on the curvy roof.

  • 5/5 Chester L. 2 years ago on Google
The roof is super cute just like a mushroom !! And inside is not like the original Gaudí architecture, it is full of the classic elements, just like the old noble palace. But it also really worth to visit it, especially on the top Of the roof, you can take lots of good pictures on it .

So we visited on a Wednesday, about midday'sh. The first peculiarity was that you actually buy your tickets 3 doors down the street at a kiosk in the wall. We got 2xpensionistas (65+) and 1xdiscapasidados (disability) tickets at reduced rates. My daughter is not physically disabled, but I believe there is a lift to all floors and the rooftop. We each got a guide handset and a headset, but I personally found it a bit cumbersome, at least to start with. Getting to grips with the handset and the route, first downstairs to the stables area, then back up and upstairs through the various rooms and finally on to the rooftop area. For the price I thought it was worth the money. Allow a good couple of hours to enjoy the beautiful decorations and architecture. Unfortunately, a projected movie in one of the rooms was not working as this would have given us even more insight into this history. There was like a mini exhibition just before you get to the rooftop to see the best bit, the chimneys!!! I must say that I was previously in Barcelona some years ago at Hotel Gaudi across the street where we could see the rooftop from our balcony and that is why I decided to visit Pallau Guell. I believe they still do a free visit day, but from my previous experience it was very well attended, but if you don't mind queueing.

House like from a steampunk fantasy. Wavy surfaces of walls, windows and doors. Such a clever practical details built in it. Ventilation ducts and openings cleverly incorporated in the windows and doors. On the first floor in the room facing the street windows are designed in such a way that, when they are lifted up using pulleys and counterweights, entire wall opens up.

The story of how the palace was developed and used is great. The audio can be set for adult, child or for an express visit. Starting in the basement, the tour works up through the floors and out onto the roof (the best bit!!). The audio tells the story of how the palace was designed for the family who lived there.

A change for Antoni Gaudi, this austere looking building from the outside doesn't give a hint of what awaits inside. Found on the Nou de la Rambla( just off the main La Rambla). Home to the Guell family- wealthy industrialist and life long patron of Gaudi. Only the best materials and craftsmen were used. A spiral carriage ramp leads down to stables for the horses. Self guided tours take you through the house and then onto the roof with it's decorated chimneys.

Eusebi Guell, one of the wealthiest men in Spain in his era, met Antoni Gaudi through the World Fair in Paris and became life-long friends. He commissioned Gaudi several projects, and one of them was his mansion now known as Palau Guell. Very interesting and unique architecture indeed, and definitely worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Adam S. 4 months ago on Google
Just go. Ignore the rest. My jaw was on the floor through most of it... We didn't hit the other 2 buildings in the area, with the understanding that the palau was the only one that took you through all rooms of the structure, not just the external architecture. If you have to choose between all the Gaudi things, prioritize the Sagrada and this.

  • 5/5 Edy 3 months ago on Google New
One of Gaudi's masterpieces, the palace is a combination of creative design and luxury. Many beautiful pieces of furniture and even lovely jewellery and exquisite dresses worn by soprano Victoria de Los Angeles.

  • 3/5 Laura C. 3 months ago on Google New
I was told there were no audio devices and I had to use my own phone and earphones, yet I saw other people with loaned devices and headsets. Difficulty loading the audio-guide on my phone (poor internet connectivity inside the building), and after the Introduction, I couldn’t get the guide to continue playing on my phone. The building interior is interesting. There is currently an exhibition about the costumes worn by soprano, Victoria de los Angeles. The rooftop was good to see. Maybe not worth EUR 12, but all these buildings are pricey.
