I must say that the views from the top of the Temple of Sacred Jesus in Barcelona are absolutely breathtaking. The climb up to the top may be a bit of a challenge for some, but the reward is well worth it. From the top of the temple, you can see panoramic views of Barcelona and its surroundings. The sprawling cityscape, the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, and the distant mountains all come together to create an unforgettable vista. The intricate architecture of the temple itself is also a sight to behold. The detailed carvings and ornate spires are a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the builders who created it. I highly recommend taking the time to visit the Temple of Sacred Jesus and experience these incredible views for yourself. It's an unforgettable experience that you won't want to miss.

I love this church, it is situated on the top of Tibidabo hill from where we have a magnificent view on the whole city :). In my opinion the church is beautiful and unique, also from the inside. I recommend this sight to all of my friends and in general to everyone :). It is a must to visit. I will surely return there one day.

Peaceful place with views over the whole city. Must visit at least once! You can see the sun go down in the mountains. After 30 mins / 1hr you’ve seen the place. I would go there in the evening when the sun sets. If you want to see the church from inside make sure to be there early before they close.

Really nice temple! The views of the city are amazing! I think 5€ to climb the towers and go to all the view points is beyond worth it! When I entered the chapel, I didn’t know you could go up! So I highly recomendación you do it if you’re visiting! The views from the top are the coolest!

Great views! Long trek up all the way up if you're taking public transportation. The ferris wheel is very cute. The cathedral is beautiful inside and can be climbed to the top. Cute place for visitors and tourists on a good summer day.

I recommend you to visit this place. It has a different atmosphere. You will be in a relaxed mood after visiting this place. Also, it has a good view of the city. There are two paths, one of them has parking and is close to the church, another one has a hotel and it is used by locals (wrong path).

Beautiful church next to an amusement park, on the mountaintop. Easy to get to, lots of steps but there is an elevator available... Ask at the gift shop at the base. 2 beautiful chapels, one stark and monumental the other Eastern and resplendent with tiles and Turkish style chandeliers. Wonderful views of the city and the Mediterranean.

The church is free entry (which is rare to be found) and you can pay €5 to go to the top of the church using elevator. Its really beautiful church and you must visit here. Beautiful architecture of the building and awesome interiors. You wouldn’t regret to come here!!! Take the metro, use the bus 111 to PI. Tibidabo and you will arrive directly in front of Church and amusement park. Please if you visit this place, throw your trash in the trash bin, this place put many trash bin so please use it. :)

A very underrated place, we were surprised that there were a minimum amount of people visiting. I think this place is really worth visiting because of how beautiful the views are from up there. We enjoyed taking photos and videos of Barcelona. Going up there is a great hike, don't bother taking funicular if you can walk then just walk there. It's not that high and on the way down you can take the bus that brings you to public funicular. The one near the church is more expensive and also doesn't take the normal transport card. You have to buy a separate ticket. Definitely worth the visit.

A gorgeous cathedral on the mountain top. Offers a spectacular view and amazing experience! The area surrounding it is nice too. You can get an elevator ride to the very top of the church for 6€ per person.

From the moment I set foot on the sacred grounds of the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Barcelona, I was engulfed in an atmosphere of profound peace and spiritual grandeur. The architecture of the temple is a mesmerizing blend of modernist and gothic styles, a visual feast that elevates the soul. Each detail, from the intricate mosaics to the soaring towers, seems to tell a story of faith and devotion. The panoramic views of Barcelona from the temple are breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the city that blends earthly beauty with spiritual contemplation. Inside, the ambiance is equally stunning, with an aura of tranquility that invites reflection and prayer. The art and symbolism adorning the walls and ceilings are not just aesthetically pleasing but also deeply meaningful, providing insights into the sacred mysteries. The staff and guides at the temple were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the experience with their insights and stories about the temple's history and significance. The serene gardens surrounding the temple offer a perfect place for quiet meditation or a peaceful walk. Visiting the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was an uplifting and enriching experience. It's not just a tourist destination; it's a journey into the heart of spiritual Barcelona. I left with a sense of awe and a deeper appreciation for the city's rich religious heritage. This temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking a moment of peace and spiritual connection in Barcelona.

Absolute must see or visit church when visiting Barcelona. It's a bit outside the citycenter, but easy to reach with taxi, public transport or with the funicular. Elevator to the top is worth it's money seen as you get amazing views over the city from the roof and or tower.

What a view! Worth the effort to come up to explore the Tibidabo area. The funicular opens at 11am.....missed that somehow. The Sagra Cor basilica is amazing. Spend the 5 euros to go to the summit. The views are unbelievable.

Great place to visit! The church is free to visit but there’s a little door on the left that will take you to the highest point of view just for 5€, you can also walk through the park without any cost. This is a great place to spend the day

Nice place to visit YES or YES when you are in Barcelona. You will find not only 2 churches but also an amazing view of the city and a nice attraction park.

Very beautiful church, a must see! You are see for free the main church and lower area. You can see the overlook of the city which is amazing. Bathrooms available outside of the church. Parking was a bit issue. You can’t access anywhere near the church by car as it was blocked. We parked at the amusement car park but that only opens at 10 am on weekends. When we were leaving there was a very long line to get in.

This was an amazing excursion! It was only a 15 dollar ride from the city and only took about 20 minutes. The church and the view of Barcelona is absolutely the best. There is a small park there with some rides. Its very easy to get a cab up or back from the city too.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is a landmark located at the top of Tibidabo mountain in Barcelona, Spain. The statue is a religious symbol and a popular tourist attraction in the city. The statue itself is an impressive work of art, standing at over 20 meters tall and made of bronze. Visitors can climb to the top of the statue's pedestal and enjoy spectacular views of the city.

Unrated destination featuring spectacular views of Barcelona and surroundings, an amusement park with rides that play in the views, a funicular railroad, free shuttle from the metro and easy to access.

This temple was one of my highlights in my one week in Barcelona besides Montserrat & Sagrada Familia. Follow directions google maps to get here; it’s easier than it seems. There is only one bus to bring you to Tibidabo after you get off the funicular. The views are amazing. You can walk up the stairs to the upper floor for better views of Barcelona, overlooking the amusement park. You can see the Sagrada familia, bunker Carmel, Montjuic and the Barceloneta beach from the top. It’s the highest peak. If you want to reach the most upper floor, you can pay the 5 euro for the elevator inside. I recommend you go inside the temple, you will see a painting of the temple itself! Inception ;)

The journey to the church is quite long because the tram was closed when I went there. However, it is possible to reach it with another, shorter tram and a walk. The trip was, however, worth it, because the view of the city was as incredible as the peace and quiet of the secluded, yet beautiful church.

A very intimate Temple with amazing designs. Only 5 Euros and you can go to the top. Getting to the top of the mountain is pretty easy through public transport. Take the 111 bus.

Very old church on a hill, but is very nice. Costs 3 € to go to top but if you have the chance you should because you can relax and see the view, go preferably on a clear day so you can have a clear view of Barcelona.

There was a freezing wind blowing while up here. Took the 111 bus up. The views are amazing, you can see the whole of Barcelona from up here. The church is very beautiful, and a must to visit inside (not allowed to walk around during a service), the stained glass windows and whole church is well maintained. I like the electric candles, well done

Very beautiful ride up the tram to get to this church. We arrived to late to take the elevator up which was a real big bummer but it’s def worth the visit to get outta the city. Just make sure you allow enough time to take the elevator up. We were trying to see in in the day and at night to see the light of Barcelona and it was very pretty.

Beautiful building, didn't go inside but the outside is something to see. Worth a visit, just for the views from here. We purchased 2 tickets for e22 which was used on the metro from La Rambla to funicular then 111 bus to here great value. :)

Sitting atop Mt. Tibidabo, it's presence behind the city of Barcelona makes its splendor all the more grand. Within its lower doors resides a temple housing a number large alterpieces, of which their impressive background artwork are mosaics, just wow! For a small fee you can take a lift up one of the columns of the basilica to its roof, and some additional stairs to is pinnacle where Jesus stands with open arms. Having uninterrupted views from the vantage point provides true realisation of the spread of Barcelona city, and well worth the extra expense.

Stunning place on picturesque hill. Relatively easy to access and a must visit destination for the view alone. There is also a public bathroom available beside the topmost part of the temple on the right side. Very thoughtful and much appreciated.

The Jesus' Sacred Heart Church stands atop the Tibidabo hill in northwestern Barcelona suburbs. The Church is visible from all over the city as it is the highest point in entire area. It's a pretty young Church built in the first half of 20 c in neo Gothic style. It has two levels - the lower crypt and the upper Church. The lower crypt is made of sandstone blocks, beautifully carved and inside are 5 beautiful naves all covered in mosaics depicting St. Anthony, Jesus, Virgin of Montserrat... Above it, accessible via the exterior staircase is the Church itself - all in marble and very distinctive from the lower crypt. However, the interior is very simple and underwhelming, yet some beautiful stained glass is nice to see. From the terrace here on the upper level are the best views of Barcelona with literally entire city beneath you. Entry is free, there's a 5 Euro fee if you want to take the elevator to the towers, but I found no need for that as you're already high above the city. There's a big parking lot beneath the Church, 5 min walk.

What a sight! You can reach this church by bus and enjoy the breathtaking view. When you go sightseeing in Barcelona, this is definitely a holy place to visit! Don't forget to go all the way up in order to live the whole experience.

Great view of the whole city. Definitely recommend. The entrance to the castle is free and the lift to the top of the castle is 5 euros (with audioguide it's 6 euros). You should use your TMB tranaport tickets to get there. It's a combination of the S1/S2 train from Plaça d'Catalunya to the funicular which takes you one stop to the bus number 111 which will take you to the top of the hill. It's easily doable on one T-Casual ticket.

Pretty weird having an amusement Park near the church/ cathedral. But well, other than that this place is amazing. The cathedral is huuge, what's more is on the top of mountain. So the view over the Barcelona is just the best of all the places. The cathedral itself is very interesting place. With many comnats and rooms etc. You can go at the top by elevator- it's cheap. This place is just worth visiting when in Barcelona!

Located on top of Mt Tibidabo viewpoint; the temple stands tall and magnificent. I would call it a miniature version of la Sagrada. The inside of the temple is probably not as amusing but it is still worth the visit. The outside of the temple has a nice deck which serves as both the viewpoint as well as a hangout spot for tourists. It seems like there’s an elevator that takes you to the top. But I couldn’t find a ticket nor someone to take us there. Overall, if you go to the Mt tibidabo viewpoint, this temple is hard to miss and worth the visit. The carousel and other carnival rides seem to be open only during certain times of the week

It's interesting to explore a crypt and a basilica. Will need to pay €5 to take the lift up to the highest point to enjoy the magnificent views of Barcelona city, the beach and the sea. It is the perfect place to watch the sunset

  • 5/5 Aranya S. 1 year ago on Google
It was on the top of the mountain.. And the view of Barcelona coastline and the city is splendid. I would suggest to always take some food with you and enjoy eating while seeing the view. The visit of the church is free of cost but 5 euros if you want to go on the top of church with a lift.
