Kinda wished there was a dinosaur ancient animal area. But was nice& advisor was wheel chair accessible with extra wheel chairs to borrow. I have arthritis& my feet & what was really nice about this place was being able to use wheel chair. Fairly clean & couldn't argue with the price. The view at the top was nice & even though I'm a dumb American from the states , no one here gave me that feeling of treating me like a dumb tourist out playing with me or anything.

It's very good and detailed about science, especially organisms on earth. Also cheap entrance fee. Staff can speak English well. The museum have detailed explanation in English too. Sadly the museum is a little small. And there are barely interactive things for children below 5 to play. So it only took us around 1 hour or less to see everything. Because our son still very small. So he didn't understand about most of it. They have temporary exhibitions for kids. But you need to pay more. But they have chairs inside the museum. So if you're tired. You can rest for a bit. No cafe, but it's near a mall. Near metro and bus station.

Great museum with a lot of things to see. Very good variety of fossils, taxidermy animals and minerals. A lot of interesting things to see and a pretty good size place. I visited it on a day of free entrance (by accident) and regret to, would have rather paid and have a calmer time in it. Only wished there was more information for the ones that want to go more in depth about some parts of the exhibitions.

An architectural marvel!! Really great place to see fossils and stuffed animals. Brilliantly depicts the history of the earth, and the inception of life in it. Can spend around 3-4 hours here..

We had a lovely time here. They had a special exhibit of baby animals that was really well designed for young children. It had fun sensory games that were both educational and entertaining. Unfortunately not catered for adults but it was nice to see. The main part of the museum was really interesting, they had multiple interactive screens with information and explanation plaques in English. They had extensive animal and bird exhibits as well as a mushroom/fungi exhibit. They had an impressive mineral collection. I especially enjoyed the insect exhibits.

There were some nice displays in the different areas, like the rocks and minerals, and the the plants and animals, but I was expecting a bit more. It was a bit out of the way for me to get to the museum, and there wasn’t anything really to see around the museum. It only took us about 1.5 hours to see everything inside, and the gift shop was closed. It wasn’t very crowded around 11:00am on a weekday and there wasn’t much of a wait to buy tickets, since their online ticketing system was down. While I enjoyed seeing what we did see, I wouldn’t go again and I wouldn’t recommend for someone to go out of their way to see it. If you happen to be in the area, it’s something nice to pass the time.

Such a fun experience for children and adults alike! It's located very close to Diagonal Mar mall and to the sea as well, and has good transport connections. But the museum is organized in a very entertaining way that is enjoyable for everyone and you learn so much. The interactive features of the museum make it really interesting, especially for young kids. On Sundays after 15:00 pm it's free so definitely check it out, and if you have children bring them to have a great experience!

We had an incredibly enriching experience at this natural science museum! The exhibits were truly captivating, offering a deep dive into various scientific realms. It's a must-visit for anyone passionate about the natural world. With its extensive collection, plan on spending at least 3 hours to absorb all the intricate details. This museum is a goldmine of knowledge, particularly beneficial for students. Don't miss out on this educational gem!

The permanent exhibition had a good selection of fossils, some videos showing how the world was made, and beautiful stopped animals, etc. It took us about 1 hour to look around, most info is in Spanish, Catalan and English. It only cost us 3,5€ per young person(>29), very affordable. And this includes the botanical garden, which is at Montjuïc, so we are going there tomorrow.

Very nice museum with a wide range of fossils and videos. I've been to the Smithsonian museum of natural sciences in Washington DC and this doesn't come no where near it. It's interesting to see the fossils and the information about Catalunya and nature but lacks interactivity. From one side, there are just videos to watch on the walls and the other side just fossils, rocks and mock ups. There were some tiny screens here and there to watch videos but nothing major. Overall, it's a good museum but walking from one section to another passively could lead to boredom. Thank you

Nice museum, great for visiting with children! The content of the permanent exhibition was presented in an engaging and fun way with immersive videos of different periods in the development of life on Earth, locally discovered fossils and stories about local archeologists. Our 5 and 6 year-old had a lot of fun roaming around and exploring. Even the building itself is worth seeing with its clean minimalist design, interesting textures and a rooftop garden.

Very poor natural science museum. Lots of space but descriptions are minimal and does not follow a real flow. Again each phase does not go deep into any topic and the final feeling is a very superficial one. Pity as location could have allowed for a much more interesting experience.

It’s a beautiful and impressive building with a great setting. The permanent collection is interesting but presented a bit too traditionally. The first part is great: immersive videos and chronological birth of our planet, but the continuation was lacking storytelling and context.

I am very impressed with this museums of natural sciences! The Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona tells the story of the Earth using the concept of "Planeta Vida". The beauty of this approach is that visitors can not only see standard exhibits behind glass, but become a spectator by taking part in a session of projecting videos onto interactive screens and walls. if you are in Barcelona, be sure to visit this place, you will get a tremendous experience.

I really enjoyed this place. It's full of learning and it shows so many things. You need at least 1 and a half hour to be able to go calmly through it and see every object that is presented there and to read every piece of information. I like that it take you through eras and they show you what is representative for that. I also loved the animals zone, as well as the rocks and minerals. We unfortunately arrived close to the closing time, but we loved every minute we had there. It's a must.

Fascinating place that reminds me of an school museum that you would do on a school trip. Under 18’s also go free which is a great incentive. We found ourselves spending lots of time looking around the various exhibits and loved the experience. It’s a little bit out of the way but worth combining with a trip to the shopping centre next to the museum.

Modest but soooo worth a visit. Well presented with good message boards in three languages, so, a great chance to brush up yer Catalan, Spanish or English! Nicely scientific but just let's you get on with enjoying the exhibits and the space. And, very cheap too and easily walkable from town or hop on a tram down Diagonal.

I went to this museum in a sunday, and it was really cool to find that the entrance was free (only on sundays). I spent I guess about two hours here, time pass by really quick without noticing. They have great exhibitions from mineral rocks.. to videos, and from all the animal kingdom. They also have some rooms specially for children, and different events from time to time.

Before they offered us a free activity, but although it was cataloged for 2-6 years, the three-year-olds found it too directed and did not focus on the objective (writing a story), perhaps they would have been more attracted to freely explore the materials than they offered us (as it really happened) (Original) Sólo fuimos a la expo de monos y los peques se lo pasaron pipa. I used to doubt if it could be fun for me as this is a Spanish main museum, but it was! The making and arrangement of visiting is cool enough and you can learn/review something new or already forgot. By comparing with other natural museum, there are not very big and impact items exhibited like dinosaurs. (The biggest one is a whale in the entrance.) (Translated by Google) Everyone should go to see the exhibition at least once. I think it is a good place to take your children as they will be very excited to see everything. There are also very interesting temporary exhibitions. (Original) Todo el mundo debería de ir al menos una vez a ver la exposición. Creo que es un buen sitio al que llevar a los hijos ya que les hará mucha ilusión ver todo. Además hay exposiciones temporales muy interesantes.

Really insightful and lots of great information. The only part is that it is not very interactive for young ones, it seems to be more aimed at adults.

I expected more interactive exposition and for me was a bit boring and just went through all but the section with animals was impressive and I enjoyed watching all the animals so close. I would say for the fans of science and people that are into theory it would be a way more interesting

Interesting place and cool building, worth visiting at free times

An architectural marvel, yet the organization of information seemed odd, maybe because of the unique space. I went to the permanent installation that began with a geologic history of earth, some fossils representing the progression of life, and then ended with many stuffed animals representing movement and physiology, or something I didn’t catch. Then there are some More stones and a quick room describing the Mediterranean. I was quick in going through, but seems like the information was disjointed, yet so many fascinating specimen. A definite inspiration for kids and an interesting space to experience. I would go again, take a little more time reading and understanding their narrative.

It’s what museum should be, great deal of knowledge and curiosity packed here

We liked it though it felt a bit abandoned in comparison to CosmoCaixa museum. Exhibitions are clearly designed, all labels have English translation. Free admission on Saturday was a nice bonus.

Very good museum to visit with kids. Lots of samples from nature like animals, minerals, insects, mushrooms etc.

  • 5/5 Ifigenia Q. 2 years ago on Google
Well equipped museum. The temporary exhibition was a bit scarce, in my opinion could have had more interactive parts for the kids to play and learn with. My 6 year old really enjoyed being there

A compelling lesson for both adults and youngsters. An interactive display of animals, insects, minerals. Excellent location on the sea shore of Barcelona.

Me and my almost 2 year old son went here, we both had a fun experience, there were also a lot of other children there playing with eachother all over, so it didn't feel uptight and rigid. The flow of the museum, the interactiveness and the displays were all perfect for a nice little Sunday afternoon. It is a nice little incentive having the museum free after 3pm on Sundays also! I would go here with children, family or friends!

We loved this museum, a lot of fantastic displays and information in English as well. The children loved seeing all the different animals and all the interactive activities. Great for the senses! We went on a weekday and it was great, not too busy. Highly recommend

Great museum, opened for free on the first Sunday of every month. Modern building, great lighting on all exhibits. Dark blue atmosphere with warm lights on the subjects. As it was a trip inside the ancient Leviathan that hangs over the heads at the entrance.

Interesting museum, however they mostly target children. Entrance is very cheap (2€ if you're a student). All labels and descriptions are displayed in Spanish, Catalan and English. The museum uses modern technology to enhance the experience and to make the tour more interactive. Despite the fact that they have a vending machine where they sell snacks you're not allowed to eat it inside. 😂

Great place to escape the tourist crowds! Amazing collection of taxidermy animals, birds and insects!

  • 5/5 Jernej L. 1 year ago on Google
Enjoy the endless collection of natural species, right from the beggining of known existence. Worth taking time and seeing it. Somethimes the presented items didn't seem to fit right together, but otherwise very educational. Trip took around 2 hours.

  • 4/5 Kira B. 11 months ago on Google
I recommend taking your kids to the temporary exhibit. The permanent exhibit is cool, but not very interactive. You can buy a combination ticket for the permanent exhibit and temporary exhibit. I wish I would have done that.

I enjoyed it. Lot of interactions and activities you can do with kids and family.

Exciting place to visit. All exhibit items have description or video material in Spanish and in English. Being able to see the animals in real size is amazing possibility to understand more about the world around us. I was able to show my 6 years old daughter how life on Earth was created and evolved with the video materials and exhibit items. The last parts of the museum tour with the minerals is not so I interesting without some context. The audio guide describe the application or some features would be a nice addition.

I went here to see dinosaurs from the reviews and stuff but there was only like 2 dinosaur skeletons.. very disappointed, the stuffed animals were cool though.

  • 3/5 Ela J. 8 months ago on Google
Not bad, not great. Museum doesn’t have a lot of interactive content it is mostly rocks and stuffed animals. Feels like a huge empty building.

  • 5/5 Duncan B. 8 months ago on Google
Great museum. Well curated and presented. A little dark to read all the display information. Interesting views from the roof terrace.

  • 5/5 Gustavo S. 5 months ago on Google
A true hidden gem. This museum offers an enriching and captivating experience for all ages. The extensive collections, including fascinating fossils and a diverse range of animal specimens, are both educational and very captivating. Recommend at least 2 hours for the visit. Recommend getting the tickets online, just in case.

  • 2/5 Silver W. 6 months ago on Google
I expected much better from Barcelona and seeing such an impressive building from the outside. Inside, it's quite dark, and very classical in the displays. It's a shame as some of the collection is really good but not taken advantage of. It lacks interactivity and more stuff for adults, not only children like natural Sciences.. it looks big and empty with very little staff.. please switch on the light!

Very good. But plant herbarium collection is not enought, as for such big museum
