Most definitely worth a visit. Yes, Antoni Gaudi was not the only Catalan architect who worked in the "Modernisme" style (which is in the rest of the world better known as Art Nouveau or Jugendstil). The imposing magnificent mansion, authored by the immensely talented Josep Puig i Cadafalch (1867–1956), for the chocolate tycoon Antoni Amatller, is truly enchanting. It was built at the very end of the XIXth century, and its original owner, Antoni Amatller hasn't lived in the building but for ten years only (he passed away in 1910). It is noteworthy that the Amattler chocolate brand is still up and running, in continuous operation since the beginning of 1797, when Gabriel Amatller established his chocolate workshop at the heart of old Barcelona. You can even purchase the brand's various products on the ground floor of Casa Amattler.

Must see in Barcelona! Best Art Deco architecture. Don’t miss it. People passing by without knowing what a treasure hiding inside. Preserved private house of a wealthy man. The tour include a very taste hot chocolate, on the first level of the house, once was the kitchen area and now coffee shop.

Awesome place with super coffee shop “Fabotit” inside at the heart of Passeig de Gracia! Good offers for breakfast, but we were really crazy about smell of the chocolate: enormously sweet, delicious and great cup, served with toasted bread🥰 Highly recommend!

Gothic, Victorian and Arabic styles combined in a one place. As a huge fan of chocolate I recomend this place because after you have a look to every detail of this house with it's unique atmosphere you can enjoy hot chocolate. And it's important to mention that every room has it's own mood, unique furniture and details. It wasn't crowded and that a big advantage because you'll feel free and enjoy your tour

Seemingly overshadowed by its next door neighbour (Gaudi's Casa Batllo), Casa Amatller is my favourite place in Barcelona. Former abode of a worldly chocolatier who was influenced by Islam, ancient Egypt, and the Orient, this house was home to a fascinating individual and just elicits intellectual curiosity. And the staff are great, and the attached chocolate shop is even greater! And gluten free chocolate!

The guided visit was simply amazing. The house by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch offers a fascinating alternative yet complementary to Gaudí's modern style. Talking about houses in Passeig de Gràcia, what I found particularly interesting is that the history of the house and the Amatllers is more complete and preserved when comparing to the Battlós and the Milàs. Finally, the Amatller's family business as chocolate makers is something that I found appealing and the visit ends in a café with every Amatller chocolate.

This review is solely re: their hot chocolate - not the museum itself. I will say, this is the most delicious, decadent hot chocolate I’ve ever had. It’s almost like fondue in a cup. They offer bread to dip as well. It was very rich so I wasn’t able to finish it but it’s definitely worth a try.

Very good the visit and chocolate afterwards. This is an iconic building definitely worth visiting to have a complementary view with respect to more known modernist masterpieces

(Translated by Google) She is standing next to Casa Batllo, who overshadows her with her fame, and people do not know what miracles she hides. Also Gaudi's work, but only half, he only took care of the reconstruction of the tenement house, and its creator was Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Sightseeing is not expensive - 14 euros. Visiting in comfortable conditions - my group consisted of 4 people, because everyone was nearby ..., with a video-guide. The Casa was the first modernist initiative in the Eixample. It resembles a Gothic palace with Dutch elements. Every room decorated to the smallest detail, amazing stained glass ceilings. Beautiful! Downstairs, as it was a chocolate factory's house, there is a cafe, always full. And at the end of the tour, you get a chocolate according to the recipe of the master Amatller.

Really beautiful building just next to Casa Batllo! It's a beautiful gem in the middle of the city! Most of the people go to Gaudi's Casa Batllo and completely miss this place! What a mistake! There is incredible little bar inside which serves one of the best hot chocolates I've ever drunk! To be honest I still don't know if I liked the bread or the chocolate more! The cakes were also really good! I couldn't finish the chocolate, because it was SO THICK and incredibly good. I loved it. I'm gonna come back for sure. Also, the interior of the whole house and the bar is really beautiful!

I loved this tour. The tour guide spoke perfect English, which was wonderful because my Spanish is purely light conversation. The rooms are so elegant and beautiful, and such gorgeous woodwork and detail is to be found everywhere. The tour is thorough, and it finishes in the chocolate shop where you can purchase some delicious souvenirs. A must see!

This review is around their cafe which they have next to the actual site itself. Their hot chocolate is the best hot chocolate I have ever had. I would recommend to get it with whipped cream to balance the extremely rich chocolate. They offer bread to dip in it as well. There is also a small shop where you can buy chocolate gifts which are reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend going here.

A historic place to have a healthy salad or sandwich for lunch. You can choose between a small or large salad bowl, for me the "small" was plenty. You choose a salad and or pasta and your toppings. There are also menus and soup of the day. Don't miss the chance to have hot chocolate; the small is enough!

Casa Amatller was not designed by Gaudí, but it is just unique and beautiful as any of his works. The exterior is memorable, and the inside is elegant. The museum tour is available, but you can always walk in at will to appreciate the gorgeous stained glass ceiling and eat some delicious chocolate sold on the first floor. You must include this house as a stop when visiting Casa Batlló.

It doesn't say, but the visits are "guided", in the sense that you are only allowed to enter with one of their staff, while listening to the audioguide. So if you are late, you will miss part of the rooms, as you are required to move in a group.

This place is very easy to miss as it’s tucked inside the Casa Amatalia building. It’s worth seeking out and is my favourite place for coffee in Barcelona. Lots of freshly squeezed juices and healthy products on offer and reasonable prices. You get to sit and enjoy your refreshments in interesting and the lovely surroundings of Casa Amatalia a house owned by afamily dedicated to the Chocolate industry.

(Translated by Google) Quite expensive and not really worth the price. You can consider it in rainy days, but with 3 people, including 1 wheelchair and a pensioner, the performance vs. price of € 60 is a bit disappointing. Usually. only video tours are offered that are carried out at a really brisk pace. Unfortunately, in the short space of time one learns very little about history and art. Nevertheless, the entire “bone of contention” region is a must in the Barcelona visit program. Wheelchair users can easily visit the Amatller Museum via the lift.

Not as upscale as the neighboring Batller House, in February we were able to watch the exhibition without queuing for a group of 8-10 people. Gorgeous modernist house, by architect Caldafalch i Puig (a Gaudí contemporary and peer in Architecture School). The house was renovated in this modernist style from 1898 to 1900 for the Amatller family. The architect likes to combine many architectural styles, including Andalucian tile, Greek tiles, ornate coffered ceilings, Moorish arches, and a fusion Spanish Revival facade. The house holds Mr. Amatller's antiquity glass collection (Etruscan, Roman, Egyptian, Medieval, and Contemporary), a number of Romanticism period paintings, and the first marketing collectible campaign --Mr. Amatller was a successful chocolatier by trade. Last trivia: because his last name means Almond, the almond tree and flower are prominent in the house's decor in exquisite silk and wooden mediums. Bonus: the first floor of the house is a fabulous chocolate store and coffe shop (Faborit). It has a pleasant backyard seating area, and still serves Amatller hot chocolate and biscuits.
