Nice hotel. Clean and simple rooms, good breakfast and dinner. Hotel in center of Mataró, close to beach and other restaurants.

No drinking water is provided for standard room.

Had an individual room that didn't match the photo. Small room with no view. The bathroom had mold and towel heater not working and has rust. The heating didn't work, Just the air-conditioning. This at the beginning of February 2023. The service of the girl behind reception was none, had to keep asking when my room was ready, no interest in helping me to have the room ready before time. But the afternoon receptionist was great and helped me with everything, I think his name is Raoul. Went the extra length to help me with everything as I was very tired. Thank you so much Raoul. Do not book this hotel it is obscure and the bathrooms are filthy.

Great friendly hotel. Very clean with good prices for food and drinks. A bottle of Estrella 330ml beer for instance is €1.80. Beach is only a 3 minute walk, and train station 12 mins. Rooms are basic, but are clean, and have flat screen TV and a safe. The town is only a 5 minute walk away, and (if you have never been in Mataro before) is lovely, and much larger than expected. The prices are very cheap, even with the current weak pound. e.g. a tuna baguette, a large croissant, two small macaroon cakes and two lattes...€6.30. Two large croissants with jam and butter with two lattes in the mornings €4.00 A taxi to Centro commercio indoor shopping centre is a must, with amazing food court, and all of the big brand shops with sales everywhere.....JD C&A H&M Adidas Nike etc etc. Although the hotel reception said it would be €20 each way in a taxi, it was actually only £12.80 there and €10.60 back, AND...that was for a seven seater. All in all, its a great combination, Mataro and staying at New Hotel Colon.

Although not on the beach, this fully refurbished hotel is everything I was expecting. It is modern, cool and fun, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and rooms are comfy and cosy. If you want good views, please ask for a room with a balcony and you'll be rewarded. Oh, and breakfast is really good! The beach is a few minutes walk, too. I would definitely come back.

We came in at 14:00 and the staff was really slowly and not clear. She didn’t know how to put the passport details in the computer but she also let us wait for 40 minutes in the entrance. Then they call to other staff and the rooms were not yet ready. We had 2 rooms and I got the really small price for the big price. And my friend’s room was not clean, so he had to come to reception again and wait for a clean room. 3 pm and the rooms are not ready? Also the same person at reception did not give me the invoice until the next day, but payment we have to do immediately. Not nice experience. Also not any views from the room. Even though is just 2 streets from the railway and the see.

Hello, I stayed here in August 2018. All was pretty good except two things. Firstly, before coming to Mataro I had reserved and paid for my apartment but suddenly on reception man sad me that my reservation was canceled ( he sad that there is no thing to worry about, because they have to give my money back on my credit card in 10 days) Actually, they still didn’t return my money!!! Secondly, when I checked out I live my bag in a locker and went to the beach. After that, I returned to take my bag but it wasn’t in a locker, someone stole it or I don’t know what could be with it!!! The staff refused to show cameras and also they refused to call to police. It was awful, because I had a flight and I didn’t have got any time , so I went in train in swimming costume and a towel. I even can not say how it was terrible and ashamed for me! Unfortunately, no one from New hotel colon didn’t solve my problem, I talked with Sabrina(manager) but she does not want to do something to help me. I really believe that my comment will watch an owner , maybe he or she will help me with these two incidents. And of course I can not recommend you this hotel

Nice hotel. Very cost effective. Rooms are not very big, and I would add a fan in the restrooms. Great service.

Beautiful helpful staff who went above and beyond. Even the ones who apologised for having what they thought was poor English (it wasn't) went out of their way to help me out. Highly recommend this place

This was a lovely budget hotel clean tidy and quiet in a nice little seaside location and very Spanish with easy and good train service into Barcelona

Great location, incredibly friendly staff and very chilled atmosphere. It has a bar/restaurant that's open all day (food only at certain times). They serve nice lunch options. Rooms are rather small and you'll need the AC on all the time. Shower has good pressure.

Friendly staff, modern hotel. Simple but good breakfast. Room was not top clean (dust on the windowsill), but clean enough.

We loved our stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious even with our two teenagers and all our luggage. It was easy to walk to the downtown square and we loved being close to the beach. I had read they have laundry facilities and that didn't turn out to be true so heads up. I would spring for the breakfast in the morning. It was really delicious and we were even served fresh squeezed OJ. Definitely check out the pizza place around the corner. We ended up eating there 3x. We only ended up in Barcelona one day and even with the train being close, it took a long time to get downtown and the train was extremely busy on Saturday.

We just had drinks in the bar, but very nice ambiance and good wine. Friendly service and close to the beach for those who want to go for a swim in the summer. Walking distance from the old city center.

I had good experience with New Colon Staff was helpful and room was decent. Nothing spectacular but all you need is there. Beach is close, old town wich I fell in love with, as well. Would come back.
