We had an overall nice stay and would recommend the accommodation to people spending nights in the region. However there were a few things that surprised us a bit compared to other rural B&Bs in Barcelona/Girona region. Pro + Beautiful historic building that has been renovated very tastefully + A diverse breakfast with local ingredients (km0) that could be enjoyed on the terrace +Friendly staff Some caveats to consider - there are only 4 sunbeds at the pool vs ~6 occupied rooms. At times in the afternoon we ended up having to put our towels on the ground as all sunbeds/lounge chairs were occupied. There is still a lot of space around the pool, so maybe 2-4 additional sunbeds could be an improvement to ensure all guests can find a place. - pool towels are not included in the 125€/night and come at an extra 3.50€. We really disliked this from a guest perspective. - rooms don't have air condition and no TV (which is not a big problem, but might be helpful for awareness). - there are no refrigerators in the rooms, while we appreciated them in other comparable hotels/b&b i.e. when buying fruits, cheese etc from a farmers market.

Absolutely beautiful hidden treasure. 5-10 minute drive from motorways, but tranquil and surrounded by trees. Staff are great, friendly and funny, happy to share a story and a drink, but quiet and discrete if you dont offer the invitation. They claim to not have a restaurant, but only offer 'dinner'. Dinner, however, would put many restaurants to shame. There is no menu, you just get dinner - three courses; all excellent. There is a subtle complexity to the food that cannot come by chance. The rooms are lovely, with shared lounges and an extensive library. The pool is small but very clean. Outdoor areas are large and comfortable, with room to wander or privately read a book. Easily the nicest place I've stayed in a long time.

Spent a month driving in Spain, Majorca and France and stayed in lots of hotels, mostly 5 star. Only stayed one night in the Masai Can Canal but wish it had been more. Easily the best hotel we stayed at and that includes much more expensive ones. You just felt at ease and comfortable as soon as you settled in. It was my 25 year old Autistic daughters favourite hotel and believe me that is recommendation beyond reproach. Want to go back with my dogs! David Shaw IoW uk

I cannot recommend this place enough. AmazIng hosts, super friendly, love dogs and accommodate their needs. Pool open all day long. Clean, charming, tasty local food! Probably the best experience in my life so far in terms of hotels. We will be back 100%!!! Cannot be happier with that place!

I couldn’t have had a better experience! The hotel area is very beautiful, the house is very comfortable and the service from Catalina and Goretti was incredible! We had all the meals in the hotel and the food was excellent! We really recommend it!

We spent weekend there with my girlfriend and we just adored the place! Dog friendly, tidy, nice walking paths near by and I loved the donkeys.

My stay at Paratgea - Can Canal - could not have been more perfect. I came to disconnect for a weekend, and I left feeling like I had been there for a month! I had the privilege of enjoying the entire house to myself on the first night, and my stay was made even more special as I met the owners and even the architect who designed the property 40 years ago. As an architect myself, it is one of the reasons I chose this property - the design of the house is simply stunning. It is simple, beautiful, elegant and every detail has been thoughtfully considered. First as a family home and later as a rural hotel, you can feel the love which this house has been restored with over the years - it has such a wonderful energy. I travelled with my dog and we were both so kindly welcomed by Anna. She made sure that we had everything we needed, she provided the most delicious food at both breakfast and dinner time - everything ecological and locally produced. She even made me a special meal one evening to cater specifically around a food allergy I have! Anna truly looked after us like members of her own family and is one of the main reasons I will return again and again. The final mention must go to the location - even though the property is in close proximity to the train line and motorway, you feel like you are a million miles from civilisation. I spent each day hiking through the forests surrounding the house to several local landmarks - the scenery is stunning with views to Montseny mountain. In short, this accommodation, the food, and the whole team at Paratgea deserve the maximum rating possible. We will be back soon!

We stayed one night here whilst walking the GR92 and it was superb. Great place, really friendly reception, and a fantastic breakfast with local produce. Lovely and peaceful and relaxing. Had everything we needed and we would highly recommend it. Thank you Paratgea!
