It’s rare that I find a restaurant underrated on Google, but La Pepita’s rating and photos don’t do it’s latest menu justice. The wide variety of tapas were excellent, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was welcoming. It was one of the best meals I had while in Barcelona for a few days.

Authentic food, great staff ! Make a reservation for the night, and when you’re a group of 5-6 ask for the round table in the back. ASK for a pen, to sign the wall to make your visit a long lasting memory. There is a sister restaurant next door.

I must admit that I was initially hesitant to give a perfect review, as I like to provide balanced feedback. However, every dish I tried was so good and bursting with flavor that it left me with nothing but praise. I simply cannot find any fault with their culinary creations. One dish that stood out above the rest was the Special Pepita Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras. The perfectly cooked beef tenderloin, on a bed of sliced potatoes, combined with the rich and creamy foie gras, created a combination that was both luxurious and satisfying. Each bite was a journey of succulent textures and mouthwatering tastes. Highly recommend! The menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of options to cater to all tastes. As you can see in the attached pictures, the attention to detail in the presentation of each dish is also commendable, adding an artistic touch to the already impressive culinary experience. The service was impeccable. The staff members were friendly, accommodating, and passionate about the food they served. They were more than happy to provide recommendations for further enhancing the overall dining experience. The ambiance is nothing short of captivating. The vibrant decor, lively music, and bustling atmosphere create an energetic and lively vibe that is perfect for socializing with friends or enjoying a night out. The restaurant strikes a balance between a trendy hotspot and a cozy neighborhood eatery, making it a go-to destination for locals and tourists alike. Well done, La Pepita team!

Really enjoyed our lunch stop at La Pepita! The restaurant is a small cozy place, uniquely decorated with graffiti and writings all over the wall. Staff were friendly, although they had a very busy lunch service so would recommend booking in advance, as there was a queue outside when we arrived. The food was refreshing and delightful. Portions were good, and includes a mix of protein and veggies. Our fave include the sea bream with strawberries, the burrata salad and duck breast carpaccio. We had 5 dishes among 2 of us, which was a good amount for lunch. Would definitely recommend!

La Pepita is a top restaurant, the tapas are ridiculously delicious and well are quite the tasting menu providing plenty of flavours to ignite those taste buds. If you are a large group (5+) please order the entire menu however if you are a couple then I would suggest the following: Catalan Tomato Bread (after all you are in Barcelona) and chase that with a Burata Salad, Fried Calamari, Octopus, Beef Skewer, Potatoes and the Fried Chicken (a tad spicy/zesty). Oh and for dessert, the Chocolate Pepita is a must (who knew olive oil and olive jam would go so well with Chocolate.. the Crema Catalan is good but not a must. The service is as fast as Road Runner and as friendly as it gets while the vibe is fun and vibrant. Bill for a couple ordering roughly 7 tapas and 2 desserts was 75Euros.

Wonderful flavours and textures, the tapas were a combination of both classics and VERY unconventional tastes. Everything was just top notch and the prices were fair for the extremely high quality of the food.

Very crowded but they seated the 4 of us after 5 mins. We ordered 7 tapas and they were all extremely delicious. Good fast service. Definitely a thumbs up 👍🏻 (*pics taken just before closing time)

On a referral from a friend we wanted to try some good tapas. We were glad we tried this place. All four choices were delicious. We had to wait for about 20 minutes to dine and the seating area was full so we had to sit at a table in the bar. We don’t really drink alcohol and the server wasn’t happy (facial expression) about us just getting a bottle of water to drink, but other than that he was fine.

Best meal we had in our short time in Barcelona by far! Recommended to visit here by a friend and it certainly did not disappoint, but definitely make a reservation, at least from what we could see/our own experience for busy dinner time. We had to wait a little bit to get our table even with a reservation, but the wait was well worth it. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the drinks were refreshing and fun, and the food was so delicious we’re still thinking about it several days after leaving. I highly recommend anyone coming to Barcelona visit La Pepita, and we’ll 100% be coming back!

These were by far the best tapas I've had. The flavor is so intense and the presentation stunning. The staff is patient and friendly. The location has a great atmosphere. You should make reservations or be there right at opening. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic tapas & a great intimate ambience. Menu is quality over quantity & has tasty twists on classics & a few signature plates. Leave room for dessert - especially the Corn Ice Cream with bourbon & raspberries. Priced very appropriately for the neighborhood. Also a huge fan of the interactive decor - gives it a very personal touch.

After many years of recommendations by friends I finally visited La Pepita! I’m going to make it quick, the recommendations were correct! This place has a great vibe, very good food and service! We tried a few cold dishes and a few hot dishes! The hot dishes were definitely my favorite, but that doesn’t mean the cold dishes weren’t great! I will definitely come back to try more of their dishes!!!

Food seems to be a more modern take on traditional dishes, but even more amazing Loved all the dishes: well executed, presented and most importantly delicious. The patatas bravas is a must-try! Everything was perfect!

Marc is a great bartender. He knew exactly what type of wine to recommend for the food I ordered. I even got to add my name to their wall. The shrimp croquettes and carpaccio are the best. I highly recommend eating here!

A classic tapas place in Barcelona city center. It’s a very well known and respected place so I suggest booking a table or arriving early. Food is really good, lots of options. Very prompt service and nice ambience. Highly recommend this place :)

We’ve visited twice in a week. You can already tell how yummy was the food. If you already bored with traditional tapas place this is something blow your mind. A tip for you- if you don’t want to make reservation in advance come before any peak hours of lunch or dinner, very high chances to get a table without waiting.

Some of the best food I have had in my life. Small restaurant so had to wait a bit but I've told all my family and friends about this spot. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Barcelona.

Best Tapas bar I’ve been to! Fascinating and original menu. Great service by the staff. Do try the Sea Bream and Shrimp croquette. Cocktails could be improved though.

Wow the food was delicious!! Packed with flavor. If the main restaurant is full they have another location 2 stores down. Waiters are nice. I have such limited time here on this trip but will definitely come back!

Some of the most enjoyable tapas we had in Barcelona. Fun, funky and flavourful dishes- I want to come back just to be able to taste everything on the menu. Our all time faves were the marinated sea bream and burrata salad. The vibe is lovely, just a bunch of people enjoying their meal in a busy, vibrating atmosphere. The names on the wall just proves how many people love and have loved this place. On a practical note: super easy to make reservations and very very good value for money. If you're looking for a fun night with good food then La Pepita is an excellent choice!

This is a small but popular place. We liked their lunch so much that we immediately reserved for dinner. We especially liked the fact they opened earlier than other restaurants and reserved a table for 18:00. During lunch, we tried their cold tapas and were pleased with everything. Of particular note was their Special La Pepita Anchovy; a lightly salted Anchovy on a thin piece of olive oil topped with a chocolate sauce. Very creative with their use of ingredients to give a modern take on traditional tapas. Dinner consisted of their Classic Pepita, a grilled tenderloin with mashed potatoes, tarragon sauce and some thin bread to soak the flavours. While the beef wasn't as tender as our Alberta beef, the flavours were amazing. We also tried another classic; Spanish fried eggs with Iberian ham. What set this one apart was their use of foie gras and honey, creating a truly unique flavour. To top it off, their service was extremely good; friendly, attentive, and fast. Seeing us as repeat patrons, they comped us the Smoked aubergine fritters so no more room for dessert. Highly recommended.

This was probably the tastiest food we had in Barcelona. Unfortunately I can't recall all the tasty dishes we had but I'd recommend particularly are the ceviche, marinated sea bream, artichoke hummus, and pork belly bites. Of the dessert, it was the crema catalana. My only small point is: we were sat down 10-15 minutes lates than from our reserved time but was asked to leave at the designated time, which means we had a bit less time than we could have and rushed a bit in the end. It gets really really packed so I woudl strongly suggest to make a reservation.

Busy tapas restaurant with delicious food. We tried to get a table here on a weekday around 8:15pm, many people made reservations with walk in be prepared to wait. We got a very small table but then we didn’t have to wait as long. The tapas we tried were delicious except the steak was rather tough and overcooked. The atmosphere is busy and seating isn’t the most comfortable, but the food does taste great.

This place was a nice ending to our holiday in Barcellona. We called them at noon to book our table for the evening and we did well, there were many people already waiting outside the location when we got there at 8:30pm. The interior resembles a cool bar, but the courses are at a superior level. We did not expect to have such tasty food there, so we were taken by surprise. The staff were also really friendly and spoke good English. We had a really nice time, thank you guys!

Fantastic, One of the best restaurants in Barcelona is definitely here! It has the best tapas and the most delicious flavors… The waiters were friendly and the restaurant environment was artistic and pleasant! We liked it very much. We will definitely go again and try other tapas :)) I recommend it %100…

We had the best time here with Albert helping us with 2/3 meals here. The food is so yummy and the sangria is delicious! I took a star away because one of the waitresses asked me to move down a seat mid bite and rolled her eyes when I didn’t move at the pace she wanted while I gathered my food and belongings. She could have waited until my boyfriend and I put our forks down to ask.

Honestly this place is so good and you NEED to eat here ASAP! I sat outside, but the inside is a vibe too. The guac is so so delicious. And the crispy chicken was FIRE must order. Also ordered the thing with artichoke highly recommend. And the corn ice cream baby!

3.5 stars. I remember this place being better few years ago (golden pepita, salmon appetizer, burrata). They changed few dishes and we found most of them quite underwhelming. Pepita with an extra egg was probably the best dish while the appetizers just felt like they were missing something. I also found them way too big for tapas as we struggled to finish them and try other dishes. I was looking forward to beef carpaccio with shaved foie but it was so bland, desperately needed some seasoning, acidity, flavors.

Such a great tapas bar! Make sure to reserve a table because this place is well known among both locals and tourists. Surprising dishes and great service.

The BEST guacamole in Barcelona. Our meals and drinks personified perfection! The staff was friendly and offered wonderful suggestions.

What a wonderful tapas restaurant in the heart of Barcelona! The restaurant is outstanding but the bartender, Albert, deserves 5 stars. He waved at us to come inside one evening and made our experience the best. Try the burrata salad and calamari!

don’t miss out this local gem, best tapas so far in Barcelona, both creative and tasteful. it’s so good that we came back for lunch again straight after the dinner last night. Personally I prefer La Pepita over Cervecería Catalana and Ciutat Comtal.

La Pepita is worth every bit of praise as seen in other reviews. This included some of the best tapas I have ever had - don’t miss the burrata salad, smoked aubergine fritters, and corn ice cream. Additionally, the servers were the incredibly friendly and helpful with the menu. Must visit!

The place was very crowded and noisy, but this is how most places are in Barcelona. We liked the food very much and we would visit it again.
