My wife and i took her 75 yr old mother here for dinner. First off, the food was mediocre. The salads Hawthorne, Greek, and Ceasar were edible and had ok flavors. The pizza was okay, but cold and nothing special. The fun begins when you walk out and find your car is 'gone' towed. There are people 'spotting' on the poorly lit steps over the extremely uninviting back door. apparently, the second we walked in, we were towed. My mother in laws car was towed. We had just spent $80 on a meal at this place, and we were towed. The tow company was very confrontational, and the restaurant refused to even call. They offered an Uber to the tow yard 20 miles away. The parking lot was less than half full before and after we ate. Needless to say to Mint Hill police were called by us. We learned this has turned into a common orrcuance. We were told the towing company was charging based on the price of car 🚗 to get your car back. Be aware we ate here and went no other place!! It's not worth the risk at all!! If you like to be the victim of predatory towing. And gouging by the tow company, then this is your place. If I were the owners, II would have dropped what I was doing and fixed the situation. Mint Hill deserves better skip Hawthornes.

Place is okay for food but nothing great. Stopped coming completely as we realized they decided to hire a spotter tow company to actively tow the local residents who may have parked here and not directly went inside to the tune of $450 to get car back. Did not happen to us just lucky that others posted it so we were aware but anyways we won't patron them anymore. Anyone familiar in the area knows parking can be limited to each restaurant. I've definitely parked in other lots to walk to Hawthornes before. Prices are also just too high now for what it is.

Tonight (9/22/2023) I took my family to Hawthornes for dinner. We have been here several times, but this is the first time in a few months due to the terrible service we received last time. We thought it was a one off that service and food were not up to the normal standards. Well as of tonight, it is the new normal. Our waiter, Jonathan, did not write down a single order, got them wrong. Forgot items that we had ordered, and had a terrible attitude. If I wanted to have a waiter that has an attitude and as well as a terrible service, I would have asked my kids to cook for me and serve dinner. The kitchen staff is terrible, they can’t cook anything properly, they are slow, and food was sub par. After this experience we will never come back here, I do not care if I am given free food on my next visit, it’s not worth it.

I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and this is the first place I ate out at. They have a separate gluten free menu. I checked with the staff and was assured that my food could be cooked separate. My waiter was informed that I had a gluten allergy and she confirmed with me as well. My food was cooked separate from the other food we ordered and brought out separate. I felt very well taken care of and it doesn’t seem that I’ve been exposed to gluten. I got a cauliflower crust pizza and it was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be coming back. I’m happy to have found a safe restaurant to eat out at, and one that has great food at that!

Really fantastic summer salad! Quite large and they aren't skimpy on the toppings! I also tried my husband's cauliflower crust veggie pizza and it was quite delicious as well.

Wow!! This was my first trip here but definitely not my last. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and inviting, the host was very prompt and nice. Jazmin was our waitress, she was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the drinks and menus items. She allowed me to try a beer before making a decision, which is always helpful. We chose the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer which was very good. We also decided to get the chicken bacon ranch pizza, which according to Jazmin was delicious, and man was she right again! If you are in the Mint Hill area please give them a try and definitely ask for Jazmin!

The Mozzarella Sticks were over cooked all the cheese melted out. The garlic knot was not garlicky at all, looking at other pictures mine doesn't even look close. The Chicken Parmesan was good, there wasn't much sauce on the noodles so they were kind of dry.

Updated!!! 2/1/18 AMAZING NEW BURGER MENU!!! Must try!! Absolutely fantastic place to eat, not a bad dish in the house and the Carlos wings are amazing. The staff is very attentive, well trained and friendly. You won't find a steak dish per se, this is truly chicken, pastas, phenomenal salads and great appetizers. A really great appetizer is there sausage peppers and onions which you do not have to order with sauce, the sausage is fantastic.

Had such a great time here...always do! Nina, our server, was adorable with her Italian grandma stories ❤️ Food was great, server was attentive without hovering.

We were seated quickly and dinner was delicious. We had lots of leftovers. Our server was friendly. We had to track her down a couple of times but it wasn't a big deal. We will definitely be ordering from Hawthornes again+

Love everything at this pizza place, it is always good food. The main reason that I am writing this is because the staff is friendly and trustworthy! I misplaced my credit card and didn't realize till the next evening. I figured my bank account would have been empty since it had been 24 hours that it was missing. The last place I used it was Hawthorne pizza in mint Hill, so I called. One of the staff members turned it in. I can't thank them enough for all the trouble they saved me.

Sat at the bar...great convo. Bartender wound up being our server when we asked for a table. Food was fantastic, buffalo chicken Stromboli is excellent, garlic knots...top notch and the calamari is awesome. Would absolutely recommend this to folks who haven't dined here.

I ordered the “inducer” and a $7 side salad. The pizza was flavorless. There were maybe 3 chunks of chicken on each slice and it is in no way “spicy”. No sauce and loaded with cheese. Ranch dressing has the consistency of milk. I give this 4 thumbs down if I had 4 hands 🙁

We have been looking for a place, besides Buffalo's Best for good chicken wings, we finally found it, Hawthornes!! Originally went there to try the pizza, hard to find good pizza too! We asked about the wings, and our server told us of the weekend special 10 wings for $10. They were fantastic. We of course like ours extra crispy. They were delicious and very meaty. Service was very friendly, both times we went. Hawthorne's is our new place to go for wings. Pizza was good too, but we ate too many wings to truly enjoy the pizza, maybe next visit.

Covid mandates followed and its Good spot. Ordered a basil pizza with something and added chicken and he ordered a bacon chicken ranch.for apps we had garlic knots. Okie here's the thing - garlic knots had a bit too too much chopped garlic and oil had made the bread soggy. It tasted really good. Pizza were great too. Our server was Sydney (like Sydney, Australia) is what she sId. Super nice lady. Lots of families as well. Will visit again. Oh parking can be a bit if a tricky thing so pls be careful. I think we went during busy times.. might have to park a bit further away into the next lot and walk to this place. Rr were clean.

Ordered take out and not impressed. You can’t go wrong with a chipotle chicken sandwich or so I thought... their version had very little flavor. Chicken Marsala pasta was also quite bland, and the chicken bacon ranch pizza was okay. The place was extremely busy, but again if you’re dining in, I’m sure it will be different.

Sat at the bar .. pretty cool place. Drinks are good but small in serving size. Pizza was good. I will go back and update my rating. As far as recommending this place I would say go for it.

I had a pepperoni calzone. It was delicious but I had no idea how to eat it lol. It is not like taking a slice of pizza and then having another. Everyone was very attentive and service was excellent but it did not look very busy while I was there. They have multiple locations and it appears they have a lot of to go business.

No longer worth the $$$ they charge. Had Ziti with meatballs, extra charge. Mostly all sauce, with only two halves of a meatball. At one time they were good but won't be back. Too many other restaurants to chose from. Evidently others feel the same way because at dinner hour not many people in there where as Char Bar was packed.

Went around 3pm on a Sunday so it wasn't busy. Service was great. Really liked our waitress. Food was very good. I LOVE that they cover the table with paper. We brought our 18 mo old with us and the waitress offered to bring him "kid dough", so that he could play while we waited for the food. My husband and I enjoyed playing with it too!! Very good experience and we will definitely be back.

A little salty. I ordered a Philly cheese steak. Let me tell you something. Three people could of eaten it. That is really how, hugh it was. Of course I had to add lettuce, tomato and peppers(banana). Next time for me no seasoning.

Tonight they were very busy. The manager was so helpful. She was running everywhere to accomodate everyone. We came in after the Mint Hill parade and we had a party of 10. They took us and cleared tables for us so fast. I was surprised how quick we got service with that many people. My daughter was crying and the manager with the red hair cheered her right up and had her laughing. I almost wasn't going to eat because of my daughter screaming but she is a pro. Seems like this is not her first rodeo by how genuine she is with the customers. We will be back! The food was delicious and our server Taylor was great. She seemed like she really cared about us. Great service! Great food!

Hawthorne's is a great establishment where you can order a pizza to go, sit and enjoy it or sit at the bar and enjoy a few drinks while watching a game or the news. The bartender that served me was friendly and enjoyed a good conversation. The ambiance at the bar is welcoming. I sat and had a couple beers while waiting for my pizza to take out. A pizza by the slice option would be nice, but I understand the demand for it down here is not there, hence why it is not offered.

We ate here for the first time October last year. It wasn't even planned. Our family was meeting another family to visit a local corn maze in town and we arrived a lot earlier then it was set to open as we didn't know any better. We took advantage of the free time snd decided it was lunch time. Drove past this place and decided we had to stop here. We are from NJ/NY and lived in the next town over from Hawthorne. We ordered fried calamari which was very tasty. The crispy Cajun shrimp which had all of our mouths watering. Their sauce for this is amazing! We ordered a Luau and Veggie pie snd those were phenomenal and my daughter couldn't stop liking her fingers after the wings. This fall we plan to also leave for the corn maze with a lot of extra time so that we can eat here again.

Had to change a review. Went from a 5 star to a 2. $100 order for takeout on a Tuesday around 2:00. Seriously, 2 calzones raw!!! One side completely under cooked. The cheese wasn't even melted, and the meat ingredients cold, the dough was not baked.

The burger was well prepared and nicely assembled. I ordered a side of fried green tomatoes. They had way too much breading the tomato was dry and tasteless. Great delivery service.

Tried some appetizers and we were pleasantly surprised. Garlic knots, meat balls and tomato's and Parmesan. All really great. Pizzas were excellent as usual.

Don’t know if it’s just changed since last time I went, but this amount of toppings on an almost 30 dollar pie isn’t justifiable.
