Very pleasant and old temple. I wished today 14.04.2022 and looks like from today they have some special offerings to the god. Posted photos with details for your reference. Nearby Pond is also very well maintained. Entry allowed in dhoti and shirt less. in case if you don’t have or forgot dhoti, you can get one near the temple.

Tali temple is one of the oldest temples in Kozhikode. The temple was built by Swamy Thirumulapad. The founding and prosperity of Kozhikode city is closely linked with the sanctity of this ancient temple. It is believed that the lingam in the sanctum of the Temple was installed towards the end of Dvapara Yuga by Sri. Parasurama. The posture in the sanctum is that of Umamaheswara. Though this divine power existed from time immemorial, the attention of the citizens of Kozhikode was (bestowed on the temple) only by about 1500 years ago. Later on the temple reached its zenith during the rule of the Zamorin of Calicut,(also known as Samoothiri)who had the prestigious title Sailabdheswara. The temple to its present state was built in the 14th century. It is within walking distance from the railway station

We came to Calicut to visit our cousin. Tali temple is famous for most oldest temple in Calicut. The temple is near my cousin home in chalapuram. The temple has strict rule over the dress code. Men should wear dhoti. pants and jeans are strictly prohibited. Non Hindus are not allowed is written there. The temple premises are well maintained and murals on the walls show our artists calibre in the olden times. The ambience of silence inside the temple just provides a stronger bond and feeling with the lord. Highly recommended

One of the most important lord Siva temple in Calicut. Located very close to the centre of city too. The feel inside temple is too good. There's another big SREE Krishna temple inside this. Parking either has to be done in road side or in nearby school ground if possible.

Tali Shiva Temple, also known as Tali Mahakshetram, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva in Kozhikode, Kerala. Zamorin of Calicut built the temple in the 14th century. Tali Shiva Temple is a magnificent example of Kerala architecture, with stunning wall murals and wooden roof sculptures created from exquisite woodwork and laterite. Tali Temple is a prominent tourist site in Kozhikode because of this outstanding feature.

One of the very famous temples in Calicut and the most powerful temples. Its in the heart of the city. Very easy to reach. Though parking is a problem especially during festive seasons. The pond near the temple is also a fabulous place to visit. Nice seating area is there around the pond with monuments and sculptures.

The only issue was parking the vehicle, there is no space available for parking hence it'll become little cumbersome to find a good parking space... the temple has certain Aura and positive vibes which could be easily felt the moment the you enter the temple. To come to the temple with a dhoti.... no shirts and pants are allowed.. women wearing jeans and other dresses are not allowed, they have to wear saree..

Beautiful experience in Kerala. Wear saree or traditional dress for women and dhoti for men. If you don't have dhoti then buy from the store or rent it. I love this temple in the modern world, they prevent our Indian culture.

Calm and quiet devotional ambience. Temple pond compound is very near to the temple and is well maintained and everyone can have a peacefully evening there. Since narrow pathway, some sort of rush is always present in the roadway. Overall a must visit devotional place in Kozhikode to visit.

A very old temple of Kozhikode where the idol is said to have been installed by Parashuram. The dress code for men is dhoti without shirt and the mundu available for less than Rs 200 if not carried. As for females, modern dresses and jeans are not advisable. As it was onam season, the streets were piled with colorful flowers meant for pookalam... Feast for the eyes...

A peaceful place with good vibes 💯. Tali temple is located in Calicut and I would say visit it during early morning as it will be less crowded. The samorin school and the pond is an iconic places of Kozhikkode. A perfect place for a morning walk.
