Historical temple. The temple premises is bound by natural beauty. Good ambience. Wide area and with all facilities available. Lord ayyappa and bhagavati are the main deity. Besides the temple we can see a river flowing at the down. Lots of positive energy. If I get time I usually visit here. One should must visit here once and experience.

Temple houses Lord Ayyappa. Situated in vallikunnu Panchayat. It's a not much explored pilgrim center in malabar region. The temple is under samoothiri raja devasam. Quite peaceful place. There is a kovil adjacent to temple. We can see lots of monkeys all over the temple area. There is a fresh water pond near to the kovil.

Niramkaitha Kotta Temple is truly a remarkable destination that left an indelible impression on me. Located in a serene and tranquil setting, this temple offers an enchanting experience that combines spirituality, architecture, and natural beauty in perfect harmony. The moment I entered the temple premises, I was greeted by an aura of serenity that permeated the air. The meticulously designed architecture of the temple exudes a sense of grandeur and cultural significance. The intricate detailing on the temple's façade, coupled with its traditional South Indian architectural style, added to its aesthetic appeal. One of the standout features of Niramkaitha Kotta Temple is its breathtaking view. Positioned atop a gentle hill, the temple provides a panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape. The sprawling greenery, undulating hills, and distant vistas create a mesmerizing backdrop that enhances the spiritual experience of visitors. The atmosphere within the temple is both calm and tranquil, making it an ideal place for introspection and meditation. The gentle rustling of leaves, the distant chirping of birds, and the soft chants of the priests all contribute to the overall serene ambiance. It's a haven of peace, far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The well-designed temple layout includes a serene pool that not only adds to the aesthetics but also enhances the soothing ambiance. The pool reflects the clear blue sky and adds a touch of tranquility to the surroundings. The architecture and the natural elements blend seamlessly, making it an ideal spot for visitors seeking solace. The ample parking area at the temple is a practical convenience, making it easy for devotees and visitors to access the temple without any hassle. This is especially beneficial for those visiting with family and friends, as it ensures a stress-free experience from the moment of arrival. Speaking of family and friends, Niramkaitha Kotta Temple offers an excellent opportunity for creating lasting memories. The picturesque surroundings provide an ideal backdrop for taking photos that capture moments of joy and togetherness. Whether you're celebrating a festival like Onam or simply spending quality time with loved ones, this temple provides a backdrop that elevates the experience. My visit to Niramkaitha Kotta Temple as part of the Onam celebration was truly memorable. The combination of spiritual resonance, architectural beauty, natural charm, and the festive atmosphere created an experience that touched the heart and soul. It was a day of profound connection, both with the divine and with my loved ones, against the backdrop of this splendid temple. In conclusion, Niramkaitha Kotta Temple is a gem that offers much more than just a place of worship. It's a haven of tranquility, a feast for the eyes, and a serene escape from the ordinary. Whether you're seeking spiritual solace, architectural wonder, or a place to create cherished memories, this temple has it all.

It is a place of natural beauty and the nature here may help you find bliss for your mind. The temple has a pond and steps to walk around, large lawns, monkeys, peacocks and other birds can easily be seen here. This Ayyappa temple is situated in Vallikunnu Grama Panchayath at the northern extreme of Malappuram district of Kerala. It is thousand years of old and one among the most important Dharma Sastha temple of Malabar region. The Pattulsavam in every Makaram(a month in Kolla varsham ) performs in the premise of this temple with special rituals and Seeveli.Somany monkeys are living near this temple. The well which provides the holy water (theertham) to the temple also have some special features. The holy water from this well which never dry or overflow is believed that the water is from the holy river Ganges. The water in the well never get sunlight. There is a way to this under ground well from inside the temple for collecting the holy water by the priest. few many feets higher than this temple the famous Mekkotta Bagavathy Temple situates on the top of the hill. One will feel how the beauty and solitude provides mental relax when stay here for worship. The vast area around this temple provides the scope for forestation. The peak of the hill and the river which flows round the hill is a really beautiful sight. The beauty, elegance and the peacefulness of this area has the scope of developing in to a shooting location and a tourist centre. History of the Temple The whole structure of Niramkaithakotta is a temple complex. At the foot of the hill which streatches 50 Acres and the peak has a 500 feet hight from the sea level. There is a huge construction with copper sheets covering the roof known as Pattukottil. Here is the encarved structure of Balakanda of Ramayana in wood. In the next there lies one of the importnat Ayyappa temple aged 1500 years approximately. The Ayyappa image is believed to be Swayambhoo . the practice of worshipping Lord Sri Rama during every mid noon and there are somany monkeys(soldiers of Srirama). The water, in the well which provide holly water to the temple, is believed to be the water from Ganges. A few many feets higher than this temple the famous Mekkotta Bagavathi temple situates on the top of the hill. This hill was the fortress and capital of the Parappanad Kingdom. The Machil Bhagavathi of this Kingdom later became the image for worshipping in this temple. One of the Kings of Parappanad Kingdom named Kerala Varma after completing his education left palace for worshipping a Rudra Moorthy( a horrible and powerfull image of the gods and goddess). He worshipped Mookambika. The goddess appeared before him and advised to go south. Where he met the Rudra(Ghora) moorthy image of Kali and after pleasing her he requested to go with him as Machil Bagavathy of his Kingdom. After Kerala Varma returned, Kali appeared before him in the same rudra image in the Machintakam(a special room provided for god of a family-Kuladevatha). Thalappoli festival This festival is the most important and the local festival of this area. The believe that the Mekkotta Bhagavathi visits her sister at Thalappoli Paramb, lies about 1.5Kms south of this temple is the story behind this festival. The Thiru Udaval -the weapon of the Bhagavathy, is tied up with Thiru Udayada-dress of Bhagavathy, is brought on the elephant back along with the gold mirror image(there is no idol in this temple) at midnight and returns with the thalappoly . The thalappoly begins when Komaram after 3 rounds Pradakshina takes rice from the thalam. The running of the woman bears thalam is a beautiful sight and is a special feature of this festival. The Kalam of the Devi drawn using various powders is shattered before the closing of the temple for seven days
