For £89 a month this gym is not worth it. It was better when it was Virgin. Ever since it became Nuffield facilities have not been maintained very well, and the class instructors are not very good. Eg. the lady who does the spin class on a Wednesday doesn't even 'go with the beat' of the music, and we're supposed to follow that? The steam room has not worked for the past month... and counting. I have complained but I didn't receive any response OR reimbursement. They need to take care of their members, but it's clear all they care about is the money they're raking in from a once well-renowned gym (Virgin active). I could have given it another star or so because they still have all the old equipment, but the fact that my complaint was ignored doesn't give me much choice.

Been a member since it was virgin active, since Nuffield have taken over it’s been a downhill trend, facilities are amazing but it’s the maintenece of the place that’s just basically shabby, steam room always broken, hot water issues constantly, one of the fountains been broken for over 6 months plus not as clean as it once was. Massive shame as the location and facilities and staff are top notch but the management and manitenece of the place is not worth the £85 PER MONTH. Joke.

The equipment is really good quality and there is a very friendly atmosphere from both gym-goers and staff. The only downside is that it is very small and they sometimes blast music too loud.

I’ve been a member since it was virgin active and since Nuffield have taken over, the only thing they have done is painted the place green . They have let everything go .the changing rooms are a dump, showers stink and they never clean the shower heads. Always chewing gum on the floor, seats torn and always smell of blocked drains . It takes weeks for things to get fixed. £85 a Month is a joke . Please avoid!!!!!!

Making up rules - no entry to the gym after 21:30 (presumably because they’re too lazy to clean up). What about those who only have time later in the day for a short workout (well within working hours). They also kick everyone out 10 minutes before closing and viciously stare you down if your training is nearing that red line. The gym WORKS (for customers) until 22:00. You don’t kick people out because you’re lazy and wanna leave yourself. Students don’t want to work - who would’ve thunk?

been a member here for over 7 years and have seen the place slowly go downhill.The staff are nice and superb location,hygiene is acceptable but my main issue is frequent hot water problems.It has been a on going problem that never seems to get fixed. I am very upset as many lockers have got broken into and cars being nicked from the car park , which makes me feel unsafe.

They don’t clean anything as frequently as they should. The sauna facilities - which are supposed to justify the high fees - are very frequently out of order and when they finish “fixing” them the steam room is still full of rust and broken benches, the men’s locker room still has a dirty floor, the swimsuit water extractor is often broken, and the jacuzzi permanently smells of water that’s been sitting there too long. I’ve been coming here on and off for ten years and these issues have always been there. Parking is a nightmare because the spaces are so tight so expect your car to be dinged. Every time I rejoin I regret it.

Worst ever gym experience. Weights are everywhere on the floor can't find a correct pair of weights on any rack just a mess plus personal belongings e.g bags, shoes and etc also on the gym floor Staff no where to be seen to enforce any of their own rules on the gym floor. I was well disappointed with my time here decide to leave early losing out a months membership fee that's how bad this place is now.

Do NOT join this gym. Always things broken and not being fixed. Jacuzzi FULL of chlorine at the weekend. Reported it and was told 'yes lots of people have complained' - but it was still open with no warning to anyone. I had to see my optician due to my eyes stinging so badly. Nathan Stuart is the bloke who is trying to get people to sign up for membership. He made it clear he isn't interested in his job by saying he was only there for his own free gym membership. He has no interest in answering your questions or helping you. No price lists to show. No information to see. No offer of a tour. Just sits there staring at you. Lacks any professionalism and asks intrusive questions about the company you work for.

I was a member long ago when Virgin Active owned the premises and it was OK. Visited recently with a member friend while in Stockley Park on business and it was filthy (both the gym and the changing rooms seem to have zero staff maintenance), ridiculously busy, and expensive. The shower I used was broken and had no soap in the dispenser, and the wall of the shower was dirty.

Been using this gym for 8 years plus.. have moved around over the years and even when i was living in paddington or high wycombe would still come here on odd occasion on guest pass.. moving around I've also used other gyms.. and tbh nothing ticks as many boxes. Massive selection of weights. And huge cardio selection.. big pool and chill out area. Sauna, steam room etc.. The only thing i find annoying is the jobs worth short indian guy on reception who makes me bring in a passport when i payasyougym anyone else would be like yeah seen you loads go in. Hes just a robot. Barring that beat gym. Possibly in London

What an amazing space. Where to begin... The spin studio is like a boutique spin studio with a sick sound system and lights. The yoga studio is so peaceful and really spacious. The gym floor is so big! Haven't seen this many squat racks in a while!!

The security here are horrendous. I was trying to leave the building and I went out the wrong exit and found myself trapped in a courtyard which is supposed to be a fire escape. The security guards lauphed at me and said it isn't their problem. I had to wait a long time until they opened the gates for a taxi. I then complained to the guard at the reception once I finally escaped and he couldn't care less.

Friendly staff, great free weights and rack, what more do you need, just wished they would fix the showers in the mens. Only 2 of 4 worked properly last time I checked.

Decent gym, but in really in need of a refurbish urgently, Steam room is broken yet they haven't fixed it in over 3 weeks, considering this is a tier 1 gym this is unacceptable. Hygiene is also not up to standard.

#nuffieldtraveller visiting the Uxbridge gym a month ago and this is one of the best I’ve used. First up free parking (but get you ticket from reception to put in your window) it’s a small walk to the gym but nothing major. Good friendly team who helped with all my questions and guided me to where I needed to go. The gym is set on mainly one floor with all the different areas sectioned out but can easily swap between each one. The gym is big so there’s plenty of equipment and room to do your workout, plus with the early morning rush there’s no fighting for equipment. They have a big open floor area for TRX/CrossFit/cardio machines plus they have some of the classes here. Even with one of the Big morning classes going on there’s still loads of room to feel comfortable while training. Weights room has a good range of equipment that’s all spaced out well and then there’s some cardio equipment upstairs. The Pool area is amazing, big lanes for swimmers for all levels so there’s no clashing then they have stem/sauna and jacuzzi/spa pool in an area right next to the pool that’s relaxing and spacious. Locker rooms, very clean and tidy with hairdryers, shaving areas, dryer for shorts etc the lockers are big so easily get everything in but these are padlock operated ones so don’t forget yours. Showers are clean with a single body/hair dispenser the gym does offer towels but at a small cost of £1.50 (at time of review). The gym does have a computer system for you to keep track of your training/progress, I didn’t have a go as not needed for me. It’s a nice spacious gym with good facilities and feels premium so def worth the extra compared to other locations you pay for. At the front desk they offer all the normal supplements, protein bars etc that are at other gyms. Didn’t see a cafe area but I may of missed this as wasn’t when there when I walked in but there is a coffee shop next door. I would give this gym more then 5 stars but of course this is the max.

Standard has dropped since Nuffield took over from Virgin Active in terms of hygiene especially, the changing rooms, showers pool area can do with regular maintenance and clean, occasionally there’s been no hot water in the showers, pool area has a pungent smell. The gym area is awfully crowded at peak times and can take a while to use the equipment you need. Car parking is especially annoying as it near impossible to find a spot at peak times. though staff are great and very helpful especially Jake Hackett who helped me appeal a parking ticket.

Rude reception staff !! Lack of customer service, training in basic customer service needed urgently. Continuously receiving texts about problems with the gym (one every other week). Extremely eager to get you to signed up as a member then don’t care afterwards. Positive > nice open gym with great equipment. Shame about the above!

The changing room is always smelly because there’s no ventilator. But the staffs are quite friendly and the gym is quite cheap with a lot of facilities and it never gets over crowded.

I've got to give this a 1-star review because although the facilities were excellent, really clean and very friendly, the class I booked and paid for never took place and I was never informed of cancellation. I wasted £6 I was charged for the class and also my time and money travelling into central London. I'm really disappointed :/

One day (it was a Tuesday) and I wanted to start to work out to lose the fat. I left the gym unamused considering I was still morbidly obese. I was told my numerous men online that going to the gym once would rid my excess fat instantaneously but instead it just made me fatter. There were so many fit men there and I was getting upset due to the fact that I weighed 300 pounds. I also farted in a burger king.

Even tho your are Shielding elders, high risk they will still take payment even tho you have told them and followed the process. This is a lovely gym with a few problems: 1. Parking can be a problem as it shared parking with a hotel in building. 2. Some equipment needs upgrade: eg. Boxing bag, mats, etc. 3. The steam room smell like mold recently- I tend to avoid it. Hope they’ll get it properly cleaned soon. Otherwise I’ve got nothing to complain - but as a premium gym in the area, I’d expect them to sort out their equipment and spa areas to make customers money worth it. This three stars.

The membership person I dealt with at this gym was so arrogant. Me and my husband tried to join and the membership person, Adam I think his name was, acted like we were totally inconviniencing him by asking questions. He literally shot me down mid sentence and seemed like he knew nothing cos he had to go ask someone else half the anwsers, after his rude service he had the cheek to call and leave a message about coming back to join. We've actually joined another gym further away. If he is the face of that gym then good luck to them.

The fitness area is not equipped 100%, missing various basic machines. The showers are always leaking, and after tell to the staff for one month and a half the leakages are still there... very disappointed with the gym, staff and sustainability policies.

So very expensive for what it provides...you need to bring the price down guys!

It’s okay, standard Technogym apparatus but nothing plugged in so missing funactionality. Never feels ‘full’ no matter how busy due to lots of cardio, weight and training machines. Swimming pool is plus, the spa is a oversized jacuzzi, steam room, solarium and sauna but can be intimidating to go in if it’s filled with young adults lazing about. But once in the sauna/steam room its real nice especially after a hard workout. Changing facilities seems to let the place down a bit, flaking paint, rusty showerheads, its not becoming ideal. Staff are nice enough, but really are there for those paying for the extra PT sessions. Never got my free fitness m.o.t despite requesting one. Overall I was paying £40 on a work discount scheme and it wasn’t worth it long term for me as I didnt use the place enough. I heard its over £70 without discounts per month

Recently went here for a trial session as I’m looking for a gym, my 5 stars are for Nathan on arrival he came out, introduced himself and took us for a walk around. I asked lots of questions all of which he answered. He asked us a few questions regarding workouts/ classes we would be interested in. Overall great customer service even on the follow up call where I was brutally honest about why I wouldn’t join he apologised and wished me well. He’s an assist to nutfield health. The gym has a plethora of equipment/machines so your not really waiting around and we went at peak time. They have great functional areas and I got the impression you would never feel like it’s packed even when it is because of the space and levels. They have two great machines for flexibility and as I am recovering from a broken ankle these were fun to use. Pool area is big ,the oversize jacuzzi is amazing although it has far too much chlorine but I think it needs it. Sauna steam and solarium were all in working order and clean and the pool was nice smaller than I’m used to swimming in but still did my laps. Changing rooms were also nice but lots of hair everywhere with no maintenance, I didn’t see any sort or cleaner. The only downside and reason I didn’t join was the men ogling. I’m a very confident woman and I’m used to attention but I couldn’t put up with that level of it every time I visit, it was as if women don’t use the spa area in that place, and I wouldn't want to get myself into trouble so best I didn’t join.

I think this is a great fitness club. The range of things available - swimming, gym and spa is just perfect for me. The price is relatively high but definitely worth it in my eyes. Hygiene standards could improve slightly and the spa area could be fixed so that everything is working most of the time (it seems many times it doesn't), but still happy with it. The location is excellent too with parking available. I have a feeling some of the negative reviews may have come from competing gyms in the locality. I have no idea how it has managed to get a 3 star rating on google.

DISAPPOINTED with staff. 1 young girl was extremely rude on phone & in person seems to have young childish attitude when I needed assistance with my eldery mother , also werent shown around to swimming poo l for my two boys who wanted to go in . one of the PTs were too interested in chatting and on tele phone ,does not seem like a gym!!will not come back. customer service trivlent was poor to say the least.

Friendly gym in the Strand. Mainly student clientele but open to all. Clean, decent range of equipment and reasonable prices.

State of the art equipment and the ambience is quite professional. It could use with a touch more interaction between the trainers and gym users but this can be attributed to the covid-19 pandemic.
