    what a useless place, trying to contact them is a mission, i had to say i want to sign up a new contract in order to make contact with the people to get a quote to cancel my account, i paid the full cancellation fee (the balance of the months remaining). and i still get calls saying i owe the gym money. now trying to rectify that, and no one know whats going on. and no one is able to assist. the lady that handles the accounts dont seem to have any idea on how to do her job, and every sales men gives you different quotes and prices. like clowns in a circus. but otherwise a lovely place to get robbed legally.

    I’ve been a member of this gym since it was gohealth. There are quite a few issues with this gym that show that they are cutting costs and providing a poor member experience. - the mens shower facilities are poor. Shower heads provide a drizzle of water. - as a morning member we are made to suffer in humidity because management does not allow the aircons to be switched on till 8am to cut costs. The cardio area basically becomes a sauna and this is surely a health hazard and against laws. - equipment is out of order for long periods. The treadmills seems like They have not been serviced since fit24 took over the facility. The running boards are uneven. - a lot of lockers are damaged and cannot be locked so it is more of a cupboard than a locker. - for some reason they do not debit discovery bank and when u pay your monthly fee in advance they cannot update a simple thing on their system so u always denied access and have to explain why. Which is really embarrassing and frustrating. I do feel for the staff because the fitness guys, receptionists and sales staff are all amazing people. It’s just their management that lets them down badly. I guess this is why it’s better to pay a few hundred rand and join virgin active

    I have been trying to cancel my membership since December 2019. No one responds to my requests. I finally stopped my debit order, which I had to pay for. Fit24 still debited me by changing their reference number. Unprofessional, incompetent, unethical ... the adjectives I have in mind!

    These people are scammers. They tell you about so much stuff that they offer and yet they don't deliver. They taken our money out during the pandemic , the same money can help us during that time. Virgin active a way better gym , did not do this as they maintain a high quality service. Virgin active is way better option than these places

    Good gym, equipment is decent, not an extensive variety though probably due to the limited floor space. Best to visit between 08:30 - 14:00, then 15:00 to 16:30. Men's showers are not great, definitely need work.

    It's the worst gym ever. They only interested in your money not service. The manager and back staff are absolutely useless. Made inquiries about my contract from February and about my payments during lockdown. They couldn't give me an answer saying they will get back to me. Upto now still waiting for the manager to call me. Got tired and canceled my contract. From the time they took over still same equipment that GO HEALTH had no improvement. Thank God I left.

    Since they have changed from GOHealth, their admin department is useless. I have been trying for weeks to to cancel my membership to no avail. Emails are replied to weeks after or not even at all. There is no direct telephone number either.

    Gym advertises 6am to 6pm on Sundays and states so at the entrance of the gym but then closes at 4pm.. very unprofessional. Waste of time on a sunday to show up at the gym thinking I have enough time till 6pm and then all machines are switched off and everything put off at 4pm

    I've been going to fit24 for over 3 years, since new management has taken over the place has gone down hill, they're trying to make as much money as possible, not be a decent gym. Floor staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, that's where the positive aspects end. The personal trainers take up half of the limited equipment, Today's 2 personal trainer had 9 sets of dumbells between the two of, with two clients each. There are only two sets of dumbbells per weight. management is rude, They're trying to get as many new people in there as possible in a small gym, no new equipment to compensate with the influx of new people. I forgot my gym card one time, and the manager turned around to me and said "this is the only time I'm gonna let you in using your ID number, next time you won't be allowed in." it's your entire job to help the people in your gym, and you won't even do that. The card system is pathetic, if you leave the gym you can't come back in unless there is someone at the desk which there often isn't. I'm ready to find a new gym. I used to love this place.

    Warning guys if you are looking for a gym Fit24Gyms isn't it trust me. The equipments are so outdated that Fit24 is still using GO Healths equipment from 2019. Equipment are always broken, aircons are always off. Floor staff is never to been seen at times and if they are seen they are on they phone. As for management what a nightmare. When you query something with the manager your issue never gets resolved. Your gym card will get denied upon entry and it would say you are woing money even though after your gym debit order went off successfully. You will be double debited certain months and as for December an extra R199 will go off which they so call a levy fee that the consultants don't explain to you and just the other day I spoke to a staff member and found out that staff is getting under paid and to top it off money will be deducted from the staff salary and staff members can't see where the money is going die to Fit24 not issuing staff with a payslip this is sad.....once again I warn you run as far away from fit24gyms if you don't believe what I saying hook up Fit24gyms on hello Peter and you will find out in detail what a night mare fit24 can be

    The communication skills and help received from the gym was pathetic. I am a student and was still paying for the services of this gym during lockdown and haven't received any reimbursement of that payments. My subscription ended in March this year yet somehow it still carried on. I have written a number of emails within the month of March and April and received little to no response. I revisted the gym about 3 weeks ago and explained this to them. The person I was referred to had no customer skills at all. All she said was to write an email (which I've done before) about canceling my subscription. I did mention that I have done this and her response was that they aren't supposed to work during lockdown and emails count as working. So, which meant that my membership got extended without me even giving my acknowledgement to it???

    Been trying to reach head office since June, no one from the pmb Athlone circle branch will give the head office number or social media feed has no contact details for head office. With the lockdown taking full fees and still we are unable to use facilities and contact to get information.

    Honestly speaking....I have been part of the Fit24gym in Durban North for the longest. I just got another contract. I can't seem to leave that place! If you are looking for a good gym and live around durban north, this gym is for you!. From when you walk into the gym to the time you leave, the consumer touchpoint received is so amazing! From the welcoming staff to the sales people to the guys in the floor to the facilities, JUST AMAZING. Trust me if you still hesitant to get a contract, don't be! It's worth it. What an investment!

    Professionalism and communication from this gym is pathetic. My account became in arrears for 9 months even during lockdown yet no communication from the branch was made to me to notify me of the outstanding payments. Even upon reopening, they refuse to write off the lockdown months. They offer no alternative such as a 3 month or 6 month membership, they only try to force you to sign a 12 month membership. Staff quality is poor, even they don't seem to know how to do their jobs. I do not recommend joining Fit24Gyms at all.

    I wouldn't recommend this gym to anybody, they debited my account during lockdown and whilst they were closed, the manager a young white girl with no customer service skills and a bad attitude, and now they refuse to refund or credit me whilst I considered signing a new contract, they are a bunch of thieves and mislead ppl, my advice is never to sign up with this brand

    too may members not enough equipment sales people keep signing on more and more clients everyday there are times where there are no free weights available at all this gym literally cannot take on anymore members its actually becoming ridiculous and impossible to train there is a lot of wasted space in the facility my advise get more equipment in more leg equipment cable equipment and definitely more free weights front desk staff absolutely pathetic service from them always have this sad miserable look on their faces do not greet and not very helpful customer service is very important in any business I have been with the club for many years i see the situation deteriorating this place is actually falling apart i don't think i will renew my contract

    My worst experience in a gym yet!! Having worked in the fitness industry for almost a decade I will say I am appalled. The staff (apart from the cleaning staff, who are always very nice) have so much attitude when talking to customers, the gym is hot and over crowded. I can't wait until my membership is up.

    The single worst business I've had to deal with for the last few years. Management is unprofessional, and responses take ages if you have any queries or issues. As mentioned by a few others, this gym charged full rates for the months in which it was closed during the pandemic. It's understandable that it was a tough time for many local businesses, but charging for entirely undelivered services seems remarkable. It is made worse by the fact that any request to cancel contracts has been poorly handled for multiple clients. I strongly recommend not supporting this gym, unless you wish to be mishandled.

    DO NOT SIGN UP AT THIS GYM!! They remove equipment/machines without replacing them. Even things like soap dispensers. Space is wasted. There is space for boxing speed bags, but there is never a speed bag up. The manager said that it was ordered in July but has still not arrived (now November) Space is used to store other things that are not related to the gym. Staff threaten not allowing access to the gym if you've forgotten your access card for a day unless R200 is payed for a new card yet cannot answer to why equipment and facilities are removed yet the monthly rate stays the same and increases annually. The sales team is useless. At the branch I asked to talk to someone about my contract, they said no one is there. I asked them to phone me. Instead they emailed me. I asked the consultant who emailed me to call me, they said that they are not at the gym and can't call me. I then asked them to get someone to call me, no response... Save the aggrevation and go to a proper gym franchise.

    I went there for out holiday this December with my partner. i asked if i could find out what the cost would be, i was informed it would cost R500 for the week or R200 a day. My partner was busy doing payment with a gentleman there who was suppose to be the manager why I was discussing pricing. I was under the impression they charged us R1000 for the both, but my partner being Ukrainian didn't understand and the gentleman took cash of R2000 , never disclosing that we were only suppose to pay R1000 . 2 days later we went back to figure out after having chat with my partner about why she never told me she paid that much. We went back to get this rectified, unfortunately when we went there to gym the manager was no where to be seen. We were told to come back the Tuesday which we did. All of a sudden camera's wernt working and speaking to the national manager Gert who got annoyed stating that I was threatening them when all I wanted to do was rectify issue. The manager who took the cash ran into an office while we were trying to get him to disclose the issue but was not once there to discuss issue. So I will not be going to that or any Fit24 Gym again. They are not helpful and when issues are raised then no one helped, they also try avoid sorting out issues

    I did a lot of research prior to signing up, and I've made the right choice (as usual πŸ€ͺ). The Durban north Fit24 meets the needs of an individual who wants to lead a fitter and healthier lifestyle without breaking the bank. Membership fees: highly affordable. I'm currently under a 12 month plan, which is great because 24 months seem a bit too long, especially if you relocate, etc. Atmosphere: it's a vibey and well lit up place. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a variety of equipment. Changerooms and Cleanliness: This one was a key area for me. After visiting their Park Avenue branch, I was very much put off as that branch was untidy. The changerooms did not have functioning lockers, and there was no soap and toilet paper in the cubicles. I'm pleased to say that the durban north branch was the total opposite and everything met my expectations. Music: The music caters to everyone's needs, which is very important for me. I was surprised to hear a Bollywood track drop, but I'm not complaining πŸ˜… Location and Parking: in a safe and secure area. I've given it 4/ 5 stars because I'm not entirely comfortable with the parking situation. You get 1.5 hours free. Which only really gives you about 30 minutes to shower and get dressed post workout. If you don't make it out within the time, you risk paying R8. At first, R8 seems like nothing (I thought so too until you do the math, and it works out to about R1.9k per year on parking. (This was calculated on an assumption). Overall comments: The peak hours are going to be annoyingly busy, so try going during the off peak hours.

    Equipment is always on the fritz, way too many members have been signed up recently as well for the amount of equipment they have ... peak times are a nightmare. No proper induction is done as well so alot of newbies texting on equipment instead of training on it. I won't be renewing my membership

    Basic gym with no fancy stuff. However they have so much wasted space, rather add more machines like leg press etc. Machines broke and just disappear, they dont replace them. I have never seen a new machine or upgrade in 2 yrs. Staff hangs around entrance instead of making sure that clients pack their weights away. My biggest issue is the aircon. Its never on, and they always have an excuse. Cant wait for my contract to end so i can join a new gym with the latest equipment. Fit24, u gonna close down if u dont upgrade. I guess spending money is not on your agenda. 3 broken machines for 2 weeks now, with no aircon..!! I want yo cancell my membership

    I have been going to the durban north gym fo a while now. They are so desperate to sign you up that it annoyed me. I have complained about the aircons so many times but nothing is being done about it. It is so hot in the gym. The only answer I get it that they will check it out. I regret signing up with them. Should have went to virgin active. It is more expensive but it has so many facilities and the aircons work.

    The absolute worst customer service I have ever received!! It’s taking over two weeks to get a confirmation on my cancelled contract and a refund. I’ve been calling their admin lady for over a week now and I always get the same response that she’s busy. I’ve emailed her and have received no response. She finally got back to me on Tuesday and promised to send me an email confirming that my contract has been cancelled and a refund form. It’s Thursday today and I still have not received anything. I’m calling to follow up and no one is answering my calls. This is really frustrating. Terrible customer service!!

    The staff has been rude almost every time I went in; there were one or two staff members who helped me on the occasion I had questions or concerns. I had moved cities and asked MULTIPLE TIMES over the phone and via email for a refund on my one year membership for the months I wouldn’t be there and to no avail. Worst customer experience I’ve had with a gym.

    The gym is smaller than some of the other gyms I've been to but has everything one could need for weight training, machine & circuit use, etc It also has an area with boxing bags close to the cardio area & 2 studios that offer numerous daily workouts with a schedule. They also have a ride studio & another area with a small crossfit type set up. The gym is also spotlessly clean & organised

    Moved to durban 2 years ago and the best decision I made was moving from a large gym franchise to fit 24, should have done it years ago. The staff are very professional and helpful and the atmosphere is very positive

    There is only 2 squat racks and 1 Smith machine and a small weights area. Very unfortunate for those that like to do squats and deadlifts as most of the time there is no squats racks available.Been a member at the gym for 3 years and when my contract is about to come to an end the Indian guy who is the sales manager has a terrible attitude as when I tell him why hasn't anything been added to the gym in the past 3 years and why do they take weeks to fix machines always. He simply says I should join another gym then.

    it was good in the beginning but now a nightmare from 4 - 7.30pm there is no place to even train in the afternoon why sign so many people when there is no space for that time period

    Probably the most uncomfortable experience of my life… I only came in the gym to look at it and they wouldn’t let me leave after signing any membership. I clearly stated that I just wanted to have a look since I have quite a busy lifestyle and see what they have to offer. They made me feel super insecure about myself telling me that I owe it to my body to join their gym. They were very desperate for me to sign up and the only way I could leave was by signing up. I will be canceling the membership very soon.
