When
my
Christmas
holiday
cruise
departing
from
Brisbane
in
2019
was
cancelled
after
my
best
friend
was
diagnosed
with
Stage
4
breast
cancer,
I
found
myself
stuck
in
QLD
and
in
need
to
care
for
my
friend
and
her
dependent
daughter
whilst
she
underwent
life-saving
surgery.
I
visited
Plus
Fitness
and
spoke
to
Jamie,
and
explained
the
situation
-
I
lived
in
Syd,
was
in
QLD
for
a
few
weeks
whilst
my
friend
recovered
and
wanted
to
workout
to
deal
w
the
stress.
He
suggested
I
signup,
and
cancel
the
membership
when
I
went
back
to
Sydney.
I
did
that.
When
I
left
to
Syd,
I
texted
him
to
ask
him
to
cancel
the
direct
debit.
He
put
my
account
on
vacation
hold
vs
cancelled
it,
and
I
was
not
aware
the
direct
debit
would
reinstate
without
notification.
CoVid
hit
in
March
2020
and
I
was
not
able
to
come
back
to
QLD.
Unbeknownst
to
me,
Plus
Fitness
began
charging
my
card
again
in
June,
despite
the
fact
I
had
not
reinstated
the
membership
or
given
authorisation
to
charge
my
card.
I
also
had
no
ability
to
come
to
QLD.
They
continued
to
charge
my
card
until
Jan
this
year,
when
I
happened
to
change
credit
cards
and
discover
the
problem.
When
I
raised
this
with
the
current
manager
this
month,
and
explained
that
I
had
wanted
to
workout
whilst
my
friend
underwent
cancer
treatment,
I
was
told
that
not
only
would
they
not
refund
the
$425.32
they
charged
me,
but
that
I
would
have
to
pay
for
the
outstanding
months,
despite
knowing
Sydneysiders
have
not
been
allowed
in
QLD
for
months.
Disgusting
behaviour,
do
not
join
this
gym.
