Favorite to go street food in Parrys area in Second lane beach road, near beach station. Been here countless times during my bachelor’s college days. Highly recommended to visit and relish the burmese food (only if you don’t mind hygiene, cleanliness and ambiance) πŸ˜‚. Atho chicken fried (1 by 2) is perfect for 2 adults. Delicious atho and the Banana stem soup goes as side, and is outstanding πŸ‘ŒπŸ½. You can drink soup unlimited πŸ‘πŸ½. Egg masala is top notch πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ highly recommended. One egg is 15 rupees. Bejo masala is delicious too, can share with 2 adults. Service: 5/5 very friendly people. They don’t see who you are or where you are from. Customer friendly and welcoming people β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘πŸ½. Everyone treated equally here πŸ‘πŸ½. MUST VISIT for locals, Indians, tourists and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all. They also have VEG options πŸ‘ŒπŸ½. Only concern is hygiene, you have to stand and eat, no place to sit, can be challenging during hot summers. #IndiaTrip #Chennai #BurmeseFood

Burmese food Chennai! Now that is something completely new for me. The handmade noodles with all of the veggies and crunchy items all mixed with fried chicken. Atho was just waoo to our taste palate. The soup was mild but full of flavour. The subtle flavour of the dish with the crunchy texture is something very unique. The usual spicy food can be completely replaced with this dish. It's easy on your stomach too. The soup itself is mild and adds a completely new dimension to the overall dish. This is a must try place in the whole of Chennai. Very close to mannadi metro station one can easily walk there.

This cherished spot has been my go-to for years. They serve authentic Burmese cuisine. Each dish is impeccable, making it a must-try for anyone seeking genuine Burmese flavours in Chennai.

They serve authentic burmis food. Don’t go for fried attho, but must try hand made attho adding bayjo. It’s awesome . Staffs are friendly .

Atho is a Burmese cultured food. healthy evening snack com dinner which is light and gentle on your stomach. Atho, the most popular among the Burmese cuisine is noodles that is cooked with a lot of shredded cabbage, fried onion, tamarind, chilli powder, lemon juice and is tossed in garlic oil. Mohinga, a dish specially made for the noodle soup lovers, is made of plantain stem soup and is mixed with deep fried noodles (Bejo) Atho is made with orange noodles, cabbage, onions, chili flakes, roasted chana dal powder, tamarind juice, bejo, garlic oil and coriander leaves - making it an absolute treat to the taste buds. Atho is a vegetarian food if not mixed with egg or meat. even the plantain soup is also vegetarian and has no meat products mixed. vegetarian food lovers can definitely try this healthy veg atho with plantain soup.

Authentic Burmese food available in this street with multiple chains of shops. There's vegetarian and egg included options so lots to go around for everyone. Trying it with the plantain soup was a completely different experience overall. If you're someone who loves exploring the diversity of street food and just happen to be in Chennai, don't miss this opportunity because no matter how much you travel, I guarantee you it'll be worth the effort.

You won't find a shop exactly in this point. You need to move to the back street, were you can find various street stalls. To be true these places are really untidy. And there is no hygiene all over. The plates and spones are just washed in a low light place, by an old grany.

    1. Very famous Burmese food. I particularly dint like it much. But local people's love it. Rs.60 for full plate. Stuffed egg, fine. Nothing very special about it. 2. Madras stock exchange is the oldest exchange. Which was shut down by gov years back. Some how found this building. 3. Badam massala milk is highly recommended. It costs just Rs20 and is worth it. 4. Tadoori chai is also amazing. Give it a try.

First time experience, one cannot eat the whole bowl of atho, it better to share it another person. 2 for 1 bowl is the best.

A Very good spot for Atho lovers taste wise superb. They provide high amounts in quantity and we can't eat one full atho. 1:2 one atho for two persons. I really enjoyed it. I need to go there again.

You'll get best Burmese dishes here ranging from atho(veg, chicken and egg), bejo, moinga etc. Mostly there are road side shops so don't expect hygiene. Just go for the taste.

Its a street food which will be liked by everyone. maybe tastes good. but, the hygiene is not at all good. I saw there keep a three-wheeler truck little far from that street shop and many guys sit and grate cabbage there without properly washing.

Food is good. But the usual taste of atho seems to have changed in fried atho foods. You can take the regular atho and free soup to taste the original taste of atho. Little crowded at peak timing like 4 to 7pm and weekends. Both veg and nonveg atho available. Egg masala is one of their signature dishes. Try it as much as you like.

  • 4/5 Surya B. 9 months ago on Google
I have tried atho in different shops but this one is top notch and taste was amazing the only problem is if you go in car you won't find a perfect parking spot cause the place is narrow street crowded and you have to stand and eat. You it's worthy to try so go ahead and try in here . You will love it :)

This place was recommended by my Friend and I tried Chicken Fried Atho. It was fantastic. We had a 1/2 Plate and it is enough to fill the Tummy. There are lot of two wheeler who come and stand and eat near the shop. I didn't like the Banana Plantain soup that much. Since it is a Road side shop, it doesn't have chairs or tables.

  • 5/5 Shweta T. 2 years ago on Google
This place has the taste of authentic Atho in Chennai that has not only kept the name but also the taste as good as it was around 4 years ago. It is a must try if you love street food and the masala eggs are just a treat. πŸ’“

When you eat atho pls add the soup and enjoy the taste...nearby another shop is der it was good taste... For soup I'll give five ⭐ don't miss the masala egg... Comparatively 2nd line beach area atho good in taste.... You can finish your dinner in single plate (full)... Half plate is Rs. 70/- and full is Rs. 80/-... In a additional ten rupees you'll get much quantity...

Kindly try at home and have hygienic food... attho is very healthy food, if it prepared at home. Better avoid road side Attho s.. especially parry corner road side Shop.
