I always wanted to come to this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint me! It was delicious every dish was unique, tasty and well presented! Service was friendly and helpful! The only thing I would say to work In the sitting as I had to wait for my table when there were other tables empty. Apart from that everything was great!

I was curious to try Burmese food for the first time, the restaurant was nicely spaced out and had a modern feel. Seated by the bar you could also see some of the chefs in the kitchen. The dishes were new to me and came with nice textures, freshness and overall great presentation. I didn’t enjoy the flavours or taste as much, too subtle for me and would have preferred more spice. The salad was the standout dish, so fun to eat with good crunch, levels to the dish that will intrigue your palate. Service was nice, mostly attentive and welcoming. Although I probably wouldn’t visit again I’d still suggest giving it a go. 🇲🇲

Had a dinner reservation and arrived there a bit early, but was seated immediately. Ordered the appetizers and the main, and the appetizers came almost immediately. We weren't even done with the appetizers, they started clearing the table saying that the mains are on their way. When the mains arrived, they kept clearing the table as soon as a plate was empty. Soon we were done eating, barely having been there 40 minutes. As for the food itself, it was disappointing considering all the things we'd heard about this restaurant. The tea leaf salad was good, as was the paratha. The fritters tasted a bit like bland falafels. As for mains, we got the beef curry, where the beef could have been a bit more tender. We got the vegetable curry, which was rather bland and needed more seasoning. We also got rice, as a side, and that was bland as well.

Delightful food in a buzzy setting. The house salad is delightfully fresh with a crunch delivering an unami of flavours. The Fried bream was a dream. The fillet creamy and the presentation superb. One rice was enough for two. Dessert to finish. All in all felt plentiful. Bar staff was discerning attentive.

First time to try Burmese cuisine and it was surprisingly really good. Had the coconut noodles with chicken which really warms you up for the cold nights! For the dessert, the Pandan creme brulee was delectable! They had strong cocktails too!

We wanted to try somewhere new and different and Burmese food sounded exciting. The staff were friendly and welcoming and attentive. We wanted a booth in the window but it was booked and was offered an alternative that suited. The restaurant was relatively quiet and we asked for help with choosing which was given by the friendly waitress. The food looked different and exciting to try when it arrived. The textures, colours and overall visual experience promised a culinary treat but the flavour was a bit lacking in parts. The salad bowl was the tastiest and overall the food was well presented and reasonable, just not wow. Would still recommend it for a lunch date or group outing.

Trying hard to spread a new cuisine in London, but struggling at old fashioned things like service with good course tempo. Try the chicken noodles for a coconut soup base that is as rich as it was when the restaurant was a stall in Spitalfields. Overall, worth trying for the distinctiveness of the Burmese additions to what might seem like familiar dishes.

I ordered the following dishes - it is a side. I can’t remember the name but it is a small plate with dried shrimp and chilli flake. It is perfect to go with rice and noodle. - the best must be the tea leaves salad. I personally love crunchy things and the flavour is so rich. Kind of mixing lot of flavour but not to much. Must try it. - the pork belly is so crispy, it comes with generous portion of delicious coconut rice - ceviche is refreshing, may be a bit too sour for me This is my first time trying our Burmese food and i am glad i had a pleasant experience. The services was very good. The lady was very friendly with lovely smell.

Great little restaurant! Very knowledgeable staff. Can recommend the chicken noddle dish but if you're feeling more adventurous, the silken tofu dish...so creamy 😋

Prepare to have your taste buds blown away because I just had the most mind-blowingly delicious food in London! 🌟 Every single bite was an explosion of flavors that left me speechless and craving for more. This culinary experience was on a whole new level! Let's talk about those chicken noodles. Oh my goodness, they were beyond addictive! Each mouthful was an irresistible blend of tender chicken, perfectly cooked noodles, and a medley of spices that danced on my palate. It was a flavor symphony that had me completely hooked! And let's not forget about the beef curry. It was a masterpiece of culinary perfection! The beef was cooked to absolute perfection, so tender and juicy, and the curry sauce was an explosion of aromatic spices that took my taste buds on a wild adventure. It was pure bliss in every single bite! But wait, there's more! The parathas on the side were the cherry on top of this gastronomic delight. They were warm, flaky, and oh-so-buttery, adding that extra touch of perfection to an already incredible meal. It was the ultimate combination that sent my taste buds into a frenzy! I'm already counting down the minutes until I can go back and indulge in this flavor extravaganza once again. This place has truly set the bar high for culinary excellence in London, and I can't wait to explore more of their tantalizing creations. If you're a true foodie, this is an experience you simply cannot miss. Trust me, it will take your taste buds on a rollercoaster ride of pure delight. Get ready to be blown away by the tastiest food London has to offer!

Food was incredible, spicy and super flavorful, very different to anything we’d tried before. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful too and service impeccable. The pork&mustard green curry and the pandan creme brûlée were both insane

Price: Affordable When to go: When you and some mates fancy taking the road to Mandalay without leaving the East End. What to have: The coconut noodles with chicken and the fragrant fish cake salad (with caramelised onion, crisp cabbage and crunchy split peas). If you like Lahpet, you may like… Shan State, Som Saa Originally holed up in a pokey space on Maltby Street Market, Lahpet has relocated to an airy site on Shoreditch’s eastern fringes and has turned itself into an achingly stylish Burmese star – all handsome wood, muted grey paintwork and chic patterned upholstery. Burmese cuisine is a cross-breed of Thai and Indian, but the flavours are still very much their own – if you don’t believe us, try one of their zingy signature salads or the chunky, succulent hake fillet on a moreish rösti with a fiery masala sauce. The vibe is buzzy, service is clued-up, portions are enormous and it’s terrific value – so grab five friends, request one of the booths, and order as much as you possibly can.

Bad staff, very rude and condescending when approaching the table spoke to us as if we wernt even going to order. Sat at the table and had to call over a waiter only for her to forget and start serving other tables. Next a rude man approached us and starts asking " so any food any drinks?" In a very rude manner as if we were there to sit and waste time. Almost felt like an element of prejudice was involved which is ironic coming from a white man at a Burmese restaurant and directing this at two South Asian males. The way he directed himself was passively aggressive and the nature of how he formulated his words was fairly hostile. The question he asked was puzzling as why else would someone go to a restaurant. I've worked in hospitality myself and that is no way to approach a customer when taking an order.

Really amazing restaurant and good service. So atmospheric with the rustic church interior. They have beautiful furniture, great restaurants layout and distance at tables and good option of foods. Really nice sized portions of noodles and rice bowls. I went for the coconut noodles with chicken. Really delicious. We also had some tea which came in beautiful pots. The waiters were good at explaining the foods and were very good at coordinating everything. Really good spot in town for casual dinner or lunch if you need to impress people!

A surprise culinary pearl in the middle of Shoreditch area. The food is tasty, interesting and with a nice chef twist. The service is professional, welcoming and very friendly. The atmosphere is chilled, well decorated and with nice and warm design. Prices are fair. Enjoy :)

Really enjoyed the food, especially the tea leaf salad. Other dishes were nice, cocktails were really good. Staff friendly and service efficient. Only negative was the large shared table which was only slightly higher than the seats, really difficult to eat at, also didn't enjoy being sat next to a large group that were fairly loud. Would definitely return for the salad and a cocktail if passing

Being Burmese based, their menu is pretty unique. They've got some veggie options, and all dishes were sensibly sized. Prices were very good for London, I had a number of dishes and the bill was very reasonable.

My experience in Lahpet. Firstly I would love to say THANKS for having me and my wife with no booking on Saturday evening. That's was our first visit to the restaurant and the first try of the Burmese food. We didn't know what to pick, but our server (the guy with the tattoos and the Essex accent) chose our food and drinks instead of us. Unfortunately, we didn't get his name, but he was amazing and extremely friendly and positive. We started with the Fritters Plater and Lahpet Salad. Oh My God... Absolutely amazing, followed by Fried Bream and Shan Noodles. Definitely will be back soon, but with a booking because the restaurant is getting quite busy. I wish you best of luck, and please send our regards to our waiter. Best, Josh Brown

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight, although left waaaaay too full. We were a group of three who decided to share a variety of starters and mains. The dishes aren’t really aimed at sharing but it was the best way to try a little bit of everything! We had starters - the split pea paratha (light and crispy with a yum filling) and the tea leaf salad (light, fresh flavours with a variety of textures) and mains shan noodles (was our favourite dish, highly recommend), the chow chow noodles (wasnt my favourite, too much going on) and the egg noodles with chicken (a little on the bland but still yummy). We also each had a scoop of ice cream for dessert. I had the lime and ginger which was super refreshing and subtle The bill was very reasonable, great value as portions are quite big!

Such a delicious restaurant! I have never had Burmese food and it was an amazing pleasant surprise! The food was deeply flavourful, light and spicy, and the menu had a wide range of different main dishes ranging from curries to noodle soups. I have a peanut allergy and my friend is a coeliac, and this was easily managed by the staff. They knew exactly what we could and couldn’t eat and it didn’t seem like we were a fuss as you can often feel in some restaurants - we were very well taken care of. The vibe inside was chill and laid back, and the service was fast and attentive. I will definitely return with friends and try out as many different dishes as I can!

Went for dinner at 8pm on Friday. Place was packed and lively. Atmosphere is clean but not too strict. Staff were efficient. Let’s talk about food. First time for me to have Burmese cuisine. We had Starters: - tea leaves salad (good, like the difference of textures in the dish, seasoning could have been better) - fritters : Mandalay are a bit too heavy, but split pea and Shan tofu are nice to dip into the tamarind sauce. - dumpling: not my favourite and would order it again. I found the dough too doughy and overcome the filling Main plates: - fried bream: nice dish, liked it as the fish is light and got that crispy skin on top with salty sauce. Fantastic with some rice - stuff aubergine: eggplant is perfectly cooked, soft and most and the stuffing is well seasoned. Good dish Total bill £60. (Honest price) In overall I had great experience and the dinner was pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere and food wise. I would definitely recommend and will most Likely come back to try their bowls !

Ive been there twice for dinner and loved it both times. I got the beef curry - beef is cooked to perfection and very flavourful. Portions are quite large. The tea leaf salad is a standout dish for sure. Very unique flavour and really interesting dish to share. My friends ordered the chicken noodle soup and really enjoyed it. This was my introduction to Burmese food and definitely did not disappoint!

First experience with Burmese food and it didn't disappoint. Smaller menu with vegan and gluten free options. Great selection of drinks; cocktails, beers, wines, soft drinks. Menu included appetizers, main courses, and dessert options. Serving sizes were generous. The staff was friendly and helpful, service was prompt. I felt the music was a bit loud and the lighting was a bit dark. Overall, great experience, great service, delicious food - sadly I am not familiar with Burmese food to know what to compare it to. Would recommend though.

Really nice experience. None of our party had tried Burmese cuisine before and we'd all wanted to visit for a long time. We booked for 4 people but a 5th person joined us last minute. They accommodated us for that. Staff were really friendly and helpful, knew the menu well and had a good sense of humour. Food was delicious, everyone was mmming. Really pleasant atmosphere too, will be back again.

Incredible food, great portions and lovely staff! We were blown away by the flavours in everything we ate, the fried sea bream and beef were to die for. The seasonal greens were exceptional. The smoked Yoghurt ice cream was complex and a surprise star. Highly highly recommend, we will be back soon.

First time to try Burmese cuisine so no comments on authenticity. Conveniently located in Shoreditch, close to the overground station. Nice decor, warm and spacious. Staff members were welcoming and friendly. Love the fried tofu, crunchy and tasty. Worth trying.

Came here with my friend whose family is from Burma. She agreed that the food here was extremely authentic and detail-oriented. We were seated at the bar, which was very helpful to order cocktails and get an explanation of our drinks. Without a doubt, this was one of the best meals I have had in London. The flavours, tastes and textures of the dishes were all unique. We had the Tea Leaf Salad, which my friend said was very authentic and tasted like her mum's cooking; and the braised beef, which was seasoned perfectly. Our portions were massive and I wished I had asked to have out left overs boxed up, as I was craving the food all night and the next day. I bought the restaurant's cook book for my friend and she said it is a brilliant book.

Amazing Burmese food with great vibes and service. I came here on two separate nights during my trip to London and thoroughly enjoyed my meals. Their house special is the Tea Leaf Salad which is very flavourful with different textures. I really enjoyed the Coconut Noodles with Chicken, the broth was vibrant amongst all of the hearty ingredients. The Jungle Chicken is crispy and satisfying. The Braised Beef Curry is tasty and tender. I will definitely come back when I'm in London again. I recommend making a reservation as the establishment is usually busy, for good reason. Thanks for accommodating me!

The food was very nice, but the staff were acting a bit mannerless. Judging by the prior reviews of this place, this doesn't happen frequently though. First impressions and all considered tho, I wouldn't revisit due to the staff. The food was great, however, so I can recommend it for that

Authentic Burmese restaurant. The staff was very helpful when making our choice. The tea leaves salad was something really new to me and very tasty. We had the curry with house rice (coconut flavored) and the lentil curry as mains. Both dishes were well spiced, but not too hot. We had no reservation, but no waiting time (Sunday at 3 pm).

Awesome place! Go for the paratha, the hake, and the shan noodles. (And don't forget the rice to go along with it all!) Minus one star because the pork shoulder could have a bit more tender for being slow roasted. Otherwise, solid spot, would come again.
