My boyfriend and I eat out very regularly, and this was possibly the best meal our relationship has ever seen. If you love yourself even a little bit, please eat here.

I am absolutely astonished at how good this meal was. I am almost in disbelief that a place this delicious is located so conveniently near me. Every single item that my partner and I ordered blew our minds. We were getting blessed with the best possible combination of foods bite after bite after bite. The paratha with coconut curry dip paired the crispiest, most buttery paratha and the creamiest, insanely savory curry. It was mind blowing how flavorful the curry was. It was comforting how warm and welcoming each bite of the paratha was. The tea leaf salad was so refreshing. It was maybe the best salad I’ve ever had in my life? Fried garlic, tea leaves, roasted peanuts, elements of citrus, and more made for an exciting experience. I feel like I am a better person now for just knowing this tea leaf salad simply exists. Our final item was the pork curry and dude, the meat was PERFECT. The pork was just falling apart into perfect sized chunks of happiness while simmering in the sauce. We had it over coconut rice, and the combination of the delectable curry over some sweet rice made my tongue roll into my eyeballs and fall over onto the ground in delight. Pretty much what I’m telling you is that you should try this restaurant. And tell your friends. And make them tell your friends. Because it’s incredible and the best meal I’ve had in the Marina.

Besides the staff being super polite and helpful, Karaweik has tremendous food in a casual setting. I have eaten here several times and all of the dishes that I have tried are excellent. The lamb dishes are perfectly spiced, but my personal favorite is the royal green tea (Burmese) salad. They do a great job at flavoring the green tea dressing while making sure that the deep fried split peas and garlic aren't greasy. The balance of nuts and seeds gives it almost a meaty texture (the dried shrimp dust helps too). They use more romaine than cabbage, which gives it a different feel than more "cabbagey" Burmese green tea salads, but each bite is very balanced. I always walk away satisfied with this little gem, and they do a great job with take out due to Covid.

I’m a competing chef, although not in the same genre of food. Everything was perfectly cooked, the samosas crispy, seasoned perfectly, and the sauce not anywhere near too spicy. The Jungle Pork is tender and spiced just right to get the subtle nuances if all the spices. The slaw side is lightly citrusy, crunchy, and pits perfectly with the pickled mango (watch for the seed!), and a cold Myanmar Lager. They have earned my repeat business! It’s a quiet little gem that is sadly unrecognized by the construction going on it’s location, but WELL worth the minimal effort needed to get there!

What a tasty Burmese addition to the Marina! Tried some tasty curries (chicken, pumpkin shrimp) and soup. Great sauces and seasonings. Highlight is definitely the staff, extremely friendly and approachable with great recs across 2x visits. Great space as well with room for small and large parties. Small but mighty mix of solid beers (westphalia red, hazy). Pretty large portions which turned into a lunch the next day both visits. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

The service was delightful, we were able to reserve for 6 just 2 hours before and the food tasted AMAZING for the 6 dishes we had. Try the mango salad & the chicken-based specialty.

We walked by this place and decided to try it. The food was good but I have had better burmese in the city. The Royal tea leaf salad was my favourite!

DELICIOUS!! I took my husband here for his birthday and it was perfect - the food was amazing (the jungle pork with slow-cooked pork was especially good, and the parathas were perfectly fluffy with some crunch), the staff were great, and they even organized a slice of cake with a candle and Burmese tea for my husband. So thoughtful!

I love the street noodles but I ask for it to be sieved in a bowl instead of on a plate since it’s pretty saucy :).

Hands down best Burmese food I've ever had in the bay area, by a long shot! You know the food is good and authentic when the owner's mom is the one in charge of cooking. Finally a good Asian restaurant in Marina!!

This unexpected Burmese restaurant in the Marina/Cow Hollow was the perfect lunch getaway from a conference at Fort Mason. They have three different varieties of tea leaf salad. We had the ginger version and it was amazing. Also noteworthy were the rainbow noodle salad (hand mixed tableside) and shan tofu salad. The staff was very friendly and happy to accommodate vegan and vegetarian requests.

Had a great dinner here on my last night in SF, ordered the fried lentil patties, fish soup and pumpkin shrimp. A great fusion restaurant to experience different flavors than usual. Service was very attentive and polite, would come here again!

Got the green tea leaf salad and the chicken satay (not pictured). BEST Burmese salad to date and that chicken was incredible and impeccably cooked and prepared. All in all amazing. I’m only in SF for a couple days but will probably come here again - it was THAT good.

Super kind staff, and the takeout was delicious!! Ordered the samosas, summer noodle salad, and the pork curry with potatoes.

This was the first time I’ve tried Burmese cuisine and I was totally in love! I highly recommend ordering the tea leaf salad for its crunchy texture and delicious flavor! The paratha was delicious to start the meal before diving into some noodles. We tried the street noodles and the summer noodle salad and the whole party loved these dishes for their freshness and unique sauce flavors. I don’t think you could go wrong with any dishes at this restaurant. On top of the delicious food, the service was amazing. Our server was attentive and sweet, and she gave us the best recommendations. Next time I come back to SF I will be coming here for sure!

Hands down some of the best food in SF! The service, the variety of dishes everything was phenomenal ! Definitely going back, the coconut rice & chicken and the pumpkin chicken curry was amazing 🤤

First time here and really loved it! The service was sweet and attentive, and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced - especially for the area. We had the regular tea leaf salad and street noodles, and they were both great. Will for sure be back!

Wow- such a delicious dinner. If you do anything, get the coconut noodle soup & tea leaf salad. Amazing flavors- lovely night. Will be back as soon as I can!

All 3 tea leaf salads are delicious. Try them with cabbage instead of lettuce to get the authentic experience.

We thought we would try a Burmese restaurant for the first time and we’re delighted with our choice. It was rather late at 2:30 but it was open. I ordered a soup which was very tasty and far too much to eat. You get very nice additions with the soup. My son had the Garlic noodle dish which was very good. We were also given a plate of salad with a variety of lovely salad items. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. A visit is well recommended.

Best Happy Hour deal I’ve found in the marina

  • 5/5 Allison A. 4 years ago on Google
This place is incredible! The food is insanely good - we had the ginger tea leaf salad and curry chicken w/ginger rice, and they gave us street noodles on the house because they wanted us to try them! It’s family run and they are incredibly sweet. This is my new favorite spot in the Marina. As another reviewer said, if you like yourself even a little bit, check this place out.

Interesting flavors, well prepared, but the tastes just weren't terribly exciting for me, and the less than ideal ambiance and slow service that I experienced make me not want to come back.

  • 4/5 Dmitry B. 3 years ago on Google
All was good but it didn't blow up my palate. Coconut soup was great and vegetable curry was decent.

Love this place! I recently discovered Burmese and I am in love. The people there are so nice and the takeout is delicious. I'm so happy I get to live close to this place. I honestly love everything I've tried. My favorites are the tea leaf salad, beef masala, coconut rice and pratha. Oh and the crunchy pineapple chicken yummm. I crave this place

Delicious noodles, rice dishes and salads. I absolutely love their tea leaf sale and they also have several other salads that complement the other curry and rice dishes perfectly. Thank you Karaweik! So happy to have you in SF. :)

Best tea leaf salad EVER! And the street noodles....and biryani side of rice. Prices are great and the service is always impeccable (pre-covid as well, when we used to go in person).

(Translated by Google) It is a rare Myanmar cuisine restaurant. I think this dish is very close to Indian food and fits the Japanese taste. Myanmar beer was on the menu, but I was sorry that it happened to be out of stock and I couldn't drink it. At that time, the clerk came to Japan, so I could order in Japanese. Some of the menus also have tofu and some Japanese-like parts, so the clerk may have influenced them.

The server was really kind and tried helping me with veggie options. Unfortunately, I didn't like it very much and the food felt very dry.

Never disappointing. Fantastic park let and super nice staff. Food is top notch. Don’t miss happy hour for $3 Okinawan beer

Incredible food, the most wonderful and courteous staff! I regularly order from here (and dine in when possible), and the quality and experience is always fantastic! Could not recommend them enough!

We love this place. We always order the “classic“ tea leaf salad that doesn’t contain any lettuce or tomatoes. Aya is super friendly, the food is excellent and the service is great. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Cozy and well decorated, Karaweik offers delightful fare at reasonable prices. Definitely try the Royal Tea, a bargain at $3 for a pot. The lamb paratha is also good as is the Royal Salad. The samosa soup was OK but not as remarkable. It wasn't crowded at lunchtime on Sunday.

Pretty good selection but nothing stood out. We ordered green Chile fish (undersalted/flavored), jungle pork, street noodles (good flavor but no chew to the noodles), tea leaf salad, and paratha

  • 5/5 Brian R. 3 years ago on Google
Exceptional food and service each of the 3 times we've had it now. Everything we've had has been as good or better than any other burmese restaurant we've tried, and more generally, just better than most restaurants.

How is this place empty on Saturday afternoon? The teas are perfect, amazing garlic noodles, must try the Shan tofu!
