Very underated, super delicious and always consistent. I've been coming here since they first opened this location. Everything I've had here is delicious. My favorite is the chicken biryani and fiery chicken. I Can't forget the Burmese wings they're my absolute favorite.

This review is long overdue! We have been eaten here since it opened and their foods are all delicious!!! Lately I have tired out Burma II in Walnut Creek and it was good! However, if you are tired of expensive parking, crowds and wait time at Burma II. This place offered as amazing and maybe better experienced. Parking is easy and it may not be in a fancy Walnut Creek, I guaranteed, you won't be disappointed. I just feel the need to give them great review for how amazing their food and service is. We had takeouts during CoVid and the food quality remains constantly great! I personally loved their Chicken Bryani and Rainbow Salad more than Burma II. Service is also great here as well.

I've never eaten Burmese cuisine before but my friend was insistent that we eat here so we did. She has celiac disease and has to stay away from gluten. They have tons of choices for her and they call it out all the gluten free choices on their menu which she loves. I had the shrimp blanket appetizer and the garlic noodles with shrimp. Both were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Disappointing Experience at Aung MayLika. I recently dined at Aung MayLika, attracted by its high ratings on Google, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the service from the waiter was great, the quality of the food was a major letdown. Both the chicken and beef were poor grade meat, and the flavors did not align with what I anticipated from a Burmese cuisine experience. The food also came out way too fast, which is an indication it is pre-made, old, or just poor. The ingredients were chemically and artificial flavored, leading to dishes that were not enjoyable. The place also smells really unhygienic. Don't order the red curry beef, red curry tasted so off and beef was old, dry, and way past well done. Don't order the sesame chicken, was just gluey texture and no chicken in the fried material. I believe there is significant room for improvement in both the quality of food and the overall dining environment.

Can you please make the inside look like a restaurant not like a storage of furnitures? Pandemic look make it depressing… Amazing food! I love the place but inside they need to make it like pre-pandemic. Tables and chairs stocked up by the wall is sort of depressing. Also you enter the side door is weird. The patio is really really weird it looks like chicken hatchery. But this look doesn’t bother me as much. We got compensated with the kindness of the waitress and the great food! The coconut rice is awesome and the mango tofu was delicious. We tried the luche sake. They also asked us if we have food allergies which is nice that they care!

Happy hour has great options for food & mix drinks. So far all the random things I order has been full of interesting flavors & delicious AF! The pumpkin chicken ( I know it sounds weird) was amazing good 😋👌🏽 ! Prices are decent too. The service is stellar and on point and so calm & polite and never rush us. The food & chef whomever is cooking is incredible 👏👌🏽. They are making magic back there no joke yum!!! This is my second time here and I'm definitely coming back. The food is incredible 😍. Oh yeah & free parking lol.

Visited Aung MayLika due to high ratings, but was disappointed. The staff were nice, but the vegetable stir-fry and garlic noodles were subpar. All tasted stale, and the stir-fry vegetables were overcooked with a synthetic-tasting sauce. The quick service suggested pre-made dishes. Additionally, the restaurant had an off-putting odor. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations for quality Burmese cuisine.

Great lunch experience.. Beatrice was a great host and server. Got seated in the patio that could use some cooling. Interiors looks outdated and ready for a makeover.. service was great though would have like the burmese wings before the main course.. we ordered the tea leaf salad. Very flavorful and with crisp addons . Spicy noodles.. garlic eggplants.. pepper beef and burmese fried chicken.. cocktails were good. The spicy mescal.. tequla mule were ok but the bourbon cocktail made stiff was awesome..topped off with a crispy banana jackfruit springroll and tea ice cream.. fantastic! Great first experience and be back for more..

A rare find! We've been to Burma Superstar and Burma Kitchen a number of times, but been longing to have one near the Walnut Creek area. Then Aung MayLika came. We held our breath as we tried the favorites - Tea Leaf Salad, marinated wings, the tofu and the stew ... we've been coming back weekly ever since. The Bad; - Closed on Mondays - Limited parking space on a busy night The Good: - Authentic Burmese food, consistent, well-priced and properly portioned - This place can be crowded but is not, because the staff/manager manages the customers & food pace very well. Even the to go service is quick. - Friendly, well-knowledged, quick, genuine staff and management - Attracts a calm, subdued and friendly crowd - Ambiance is ok, but requires more Burmese flare/decor. - They do have a bar and have a happy hour too Please visit and try this place. We should help more of these local and well-managed places to thrive and succeed.

Delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. Great for couples or groups looking for family-style dining. If it's your first time eating Burmese, I'd recommend the Tea Leaf Salad, Mango Chicken, and a side of Coconut Rice.

Wow this was our first Burmese cuisine experience and we're glad we got to experience it here! The folks who work here are so friendly! They were very accommodating for our party and the food came out promptly! Plus... Their bar selection is on point! Though they didn't have enough Yamazaki 12 to fill my order, I chose Don Julio 1942 and damn that was good!! Their food is awesome so just choose what looks familiar. You will not be disappointed. We'll be coming back even though we do come from Vallejo!

I had read the good reviews, came in and asked the waiter what he recommended from the vegetarian menu. He suggested the pumpkin stew, which sounded good. It arrived in a not large portion bowl, very pedestrian. Really no spice to it, kind of salty. Made with carrots, pumpkin, okra, green beans, and one tiny slice of red pepper buried in there. It was cooked properly as far as the vegetables were not overcooked. But for $12 it was a rip off I think. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing on the end of a busy night.

I've never had Burmese food before, and I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was onolicious (that's hawaiian pidgen for "off the hook"). Every dish was an adventure in flavor. The party I was with ordered a variety of dishes and we shared family style. Everything tasted great.

Been twice in 2 weeks with friends and loved it! Everyone really enjoyed the food and drinks. The food is excellent! The owner/managers of the restaurant are amazing and very kind human beings. They truly love what they are doing, they make delicious food, and they take great care of their customers! Can't wait for the next experience :)

Generous portions, tasty dishes, reasonably priced! The pea shoots were on the salty side, but overall a great meal! Also friendly service and unusual wine list for a Burmese restaurant. Wonderful experience!

We love this Burmese restaurant. The tea leaf salad is tasty and can give you a caffeine boost. We try to eat there at lunch time so we can get to sleep that evening. The staff are friendly and attentive. The mango chicken is another favorite dish.

Thus food is amazingly good there are really no words to explain how fresh and authentic this food is. Every time I am anywhere near this place I have to stop and eat there my grandkids are young and usually young kids are very picky but all they did was tall about how good the food was so thus place gets 2 thumbs up from them and 10 stars from me soooo soooo very good no fast food place could ever compare

This restaurant is about a half mile from my home, but I never noticed it until my son took us there recently. It's easy to miss if you're not looking, which is too bad, as I enjoyed the food very much. My son has a good friend whose family owns a Burmese restaurant in Berkeley, so he introduced us to the cuisine, which we enjoyed. I thought this was also excellent. They also have a good selection of beer and bar drinks, if you like that.

I’ve eaten once at this restaurant with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I decided to order in. Everything was exceptional but I ordered the salt and pepper chicken and I got a deep fried dish which I think is chicken. It’s okay. But truthfully I would not have ordered it. But I will order from here again. Everything is very fresh and delicious.

OMG Best damn good Minted Chicken that you will not forget & every so often crave!! Very efficient & friendly table service. Food is consistently fresh, mildly spicy & quite tasty. Add jasmine rice & mango Lassi, it is Heaven! Try out the prawns, S&P tofu and the dessert crepe..highly recommend this place!

TL:DR - This was both our first time eating food from here and trying Burmese food, a solid win on both accounts! Food was hot, rice was acceptable and the flavors were great! 1) Mango chicken - I enjoy spicy food. I enjoy flavorful food. This was both, great job! I took a few seconds deciding between “hot” and “extreme” and was pleased with my choice of “hot”. Many Americanized places do a dreadful job of making spicy hot food spicy hot. Aung does not, there was a great lingering heat that was not unpleasant. 2) Lemongrass Chicken - Good flavor, good veggie selection. I ordered it Mild for the wife, and she said it had a presence of heat, but it wasn’t overpowering. A thumbs up from her. (I tried one piece, and it was good) 3) The chicken in both dishes had a little bit of a weird firmness to it, perhaps it was slightly overdone? When biting into a piece, it had a bit of a firm snap to it, not a texture I associate with chicken normally. It was not unpleasant, but it’s what brought the score down from a perfect. Maybe this is a Burmese method of cooking? Someone let me know if it is. Do yourself a favor, savor the flavor from here. I will be trying their dishes again for sure and I plan on letting others know what we found.

Delicious! Did not have a single bad thing on the menu. This place will have me searching for Burmese food where ever I go!

Food is good, but super salty. Got the chicken curry and chicken biryni and both were extremely overly salty to the point that I can barely eat it. I'll stick to the salads next time.

Got the Egg & Okra Curry, to go. Yum yum yum! I am coming back to try everything else on the menu! It's at major intersection in pleasant hill, so it's hard to miss. I've noticed there's a steady flow of people every day at this place, and now I know why: The food is super tasty, service is courteous, friendly and fast, and the ambiance is casual yet romantic. Can definitely be a date spot 👍. Can't wait to try other gems on the menu.

Uppss. I did not know they use MSG until a customer asked for no MSG on his dish. This restaurant has been twice excellent and twice a big disappointment. On 2/18/20 ordered "Veggies Curry" and got an old veggies, salty dish. I didn't give 1 start because Jennie the manager agreed to make this good. I don't know when but I really appreciated.

  • 5/5 Manny E. 5 years ago on Google
I was totally in the mood for some garlic noodles! My friend and I got the garlic noodles, mine with chicken and his with tofu. The ambience is classy and the service professional. I want to go back for the salads.

Good food. If you like Burmese. I honestly can't tell if it's the best or not since I don't know of any other Burmese restaurants. However, I can say that what have tried here, I have been happy with.

This is our one of our favorite Burmese restaurants in the bay and we even had them cater our backyard wedding. Delicious food at good prices. We recommend the minted chicken, tea leaf salad and curries. Jenny helped us with the wedding catering and was awesome - very knowledgeable and thorough. The guy who we ordered from tonight (1/24/20) was super friendly and inviting.

I go to this outstanding place every couple of days since I like the good mood that is part of this restaurant. The staff is highly attentive and experienced. The service is extremely rapid. Most important, the food you eat is magnificent. I came more than once and I was never disappointed. The expense is modest. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Their Burmese curry with potatoes is so delicious! Hits the spot every time. I also enjoyed the garlic noodles. All the dishes keep well and are still delicious when you reheat the leftovers.

Great Burmese food. Definitely give it a shot if you like Thai, curry, Chinese--really any food with spices or Asian. Kind service, and the drinks are strong. Oh yeah.. full bar.

It's a little hard to get to, but it's definitely worth the trip! They have outdoor dining, but we got food to-go. I highly recommend the catfish chowder that is ridiculously delicious and comes with rice noodles, fried peas, and fried onions and is one of the best soups I've ever eaten. I will be coming back for that soup alone. My husband also got the red curry lunch special with chicken and it came with jasmine rice and was also delicious. We also got fried salt and pepper tofu and their tea leaf salad with the cabbage lettuce mix, and they were also wonderful. The people working there are always super nice, so if you're looking for a great lunch or dinner takeout in Concord, give them a try!
