Our friends recommended this place, saying the food was really good. We were unfamiliar with Burmese food, but we decided to give it a try. Burma cafe definitely did not disappoint. They are doing some construction outside, so we weren’t sure if it was actually open. We came around 12 pm and it was decently crowded. We (2) were seated right away. Inside was cute, I appreciated the decor. We ordered the mango salad (with less chili sauce), platha and dip, house noodles, and eggplant with tofu. The mango salad was so refreshing. It was a great way to start the meal. The roti was also really good. The curry dip went amazing with it. When the noodles came out, the ingredients were all separated and the waiter came to mix it up. Pretty cool. The eggplant and tofu was so amazing. The eggplant was cooked perfectly. We were really impressed and would definitely come back again. They have a huge parking lot so parking wasn’t a hassle. The curry also looked really good and I’m sure it would go well with their fried rice or noodles.

Good food with a fair price. Great customer service as well. We all were so full after dinner. We'll definitely go back here if we miss to eat Burmese food. Garlic Noodles, Lamb curry and many more dishes are delicious.

This place was way over priced. That was why there were only 2 people there at a Saturday night. They charged us $18 for a dish that only had 2pcs of puff paratha from the freezer of Ranch 99 that costs only 60 cents, plus a curry dipping sauce. I knew that because we buy them all the time. Never cheat customers or they won’t come back. Furthermore, they had a very small menu. Most of the items shown online are not available. Their explanation was that after Covid, customers had not come back so they cut the menu. But covid probably is not the reason why customers don’t come back. First time there and will never again.

My favorite Burmese restaurant in the Bay Area. Every time I bring new friends or customers here, they are blown away and vow to be back. Their curry, coconut rice, salad, and roti are all very scrumptious/ delicious. The restaurant itself has a fun jungle/ Burmese design and is very clean. The service is excellent, with the host/ waiter giving you a really personal/ homely feeling. When it was my birthday, they kindly gave me a dessert on the house. Will be back again and highly recommend to all! Also the pastry store next door is also bomb and a good place to stop by to pick up sweets before going home after lunch at Burma Cafe!

Very flavorful Burmese food. They now offer two different sized portions for their many of their dishes (Burmese portions $11 Regular portions $18). I noticed the salad options have changed (fewer than before) from its prepandemic menu. The service is friendly and there is plenty of free parking; however, I do wish the food was a bit hotter (temperature wise) when served.

Really good Burmese place in the edge of the city. Also not super crowded so you can always find a place.

The food was delicious! We had an Eggplant and Shrimp Stir-fry, and the Siracha chicken… it was great! Spicy yet flavorful (not just a sour burn the way some places make it). We had a lovely mint tea to go with. Our waiter Nyan was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. I not only would, but DO highly recommend this place, and will come back again! Thank you!

One of the top Burmese restaurants in the Bay. If you're looking for an alternative to Mandalay, Burma Cafe just south of San Francisco in Daly City is the perfect place for you. I was introduced to this restaurant several years ago and I'm glad to share this find with other friends years and years later. The menu has been upgraded with more vegan or vegan friendly options that are clearly marked. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Everything here is excellent with just the right balance of spices and flavors. Personal favorites include the samusa soup and veggie noodles. Make reservations b/c this place can get busy. Cons: Not easily accessible by public transportation

Delicious but a little expensive. I would definitely go back but not for a cheap bite. Dishes around $15-19. Coconut rice was and extra 6 something (rice not included with the currys). tough to try multiple things when soups and starters are all 12-15 bucks too. Won't take any stars away, the food was tasty. I had the pumpkin curry. it was very good, if I got it again I would ask to add meat.

Tasty Burmese food with several vegetarian/ vegan options. The tea leaf salad is delicious. The restaurant has adapted well to the Covid situation with no contact takeout.

The food was good and had nice flavors, but it was very very very greasy. I’m kind of sad there was so much oil in our two noodle dishes because they would have been incredible with less oil.

  • 1/5 Jeanne 3 years ago on Google
All carbs- the salad was 2 tiny pieces pieces of cabbage topped with 2 kinds of noodles and potatoes with 2 tiny cucumber pieces. The pumpkin curry had monstrous chunks of unpeeled pumpkin and additional potatoes in it too. And the grease laden flat bread. I confused this restaurant with Burma Superstar. Not even close. Sorry but I won’t eat there again.

The food quality is getting worse. Given the price of 16 dollars for tea salad, all I get is rotten and yellow leaves. Ripped off.

The food is great! Good vegan options! The coconut rice, pumpkin curry and tea leaf salad are great.

We completely stumbled upon this gem f a spot in a very depressing strip mall. The menu is a bit limited, but I appreciate that our delicious food arrived very quickly so we could get right down to some chow! Service was extremely attentive. Interior is spotless and with a nice, minimal design. We will be back!

Stopped by after a round of golfing in Sharp Park. What a surprise - really enjoyed the great food: pork stew and chicken curry. Will definitely come back. The owner couple are super nice. We had a great conversation.

Great place to eat, where prices are wonderfully (is that a word?) reasonable. Staff were cordial and friendly, the kitchen got our food out pretty fast, everything was fresh and nice, tasty food, and we felt that we got great food for great price. There was some noise outside, the seats were not very comfortable, but again the food was fantastic.

I grabbed the pumpkin curry to go - I was underwhelmed with it for the price (~$30 including a side of rice). It was mostly liquid curry with a few very large chunks of squash and not much else. Just last month I had a similar dish at a Burmese spot in San Francisco that had more ingredients (more vegetable types) and was cheaper. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back (for this dish at least).

Got tea leave salad on May 31st,2022 5:50 pm. Was so disappointed with peanut replacement. Love original fry peanut in the salad, not the package peanut from 99 store. Please fix back the ingredients to original way

My $40 pickup (ordered over the phone with restaurant)Togo meal of a child size portion tea leaf salad and small size tofu garlic noodle. Flavor was just alright.

This place has changed hands( hopefully temporarily). Menu is striped down now taking away a lot of the unique options here. Soup is watered down with very little traditional elements. Not even plain rice left on the menu. Salad and curry contents are less even for regular size options. Flavors of the curries are pretty bland and unexpected for Burmese. Lots of Burmese options within 20mins drive of this place that are worth going to than this one now. Been regular to this place for 8yrs along with 3-4 other Burmese places around the area( eg: Burma Love, Superstar, Burmese Kitchen etc.). Pick those now instead of this one. The prices are comparable.

Excellent service and knowledgeable staff! I was gravitationally sucked into this restaurant due to the vegan/vegetarian friendly menu. They don't have mock beef, chicken, duck unfortunately. This is desirable because it's significantly more protein than tofu. It tastes better and has great texture too. Try the Bun Tay Wheat noodles if you like spice 🌶‼️ awesomeness.

  • 4/5 Rachelle C. 5 years ago on Google
The food is delicious. They all seem like they would have similar tastes/flavors but they're all pretty different and distinguishable. The aromas were amazing, presentation was nice, and service was great as well. Not shown is the tea lead salad that was also pretty tastey. Many of the dishes had something crispy in it and the best part was it maintained the crisp throughout the meal. 👌

Unique experience for us! Burma Cafe was jam packed when we arrived a bit after 7 pm on a Sunday, which is a good sign, but we were seated in reasonable time. There are a ton of vegetarian/vegan options! The servers were very busy, but attentive. We got the samusas (samosa, with onion and jalapeno instead of peas), pumpkin curry, and garlic noodles with tofu and chili sauce. On their own, the samusas and noodles were good, but the chili sauce added a needed kick. The tofu was fried really well. The pumpkin curry was *amazing*! It doesn't by default come with rice, but doesn't need it as it's pretty substantial. You get a lot of food. Get the ginger tea or Burmese hot milk tea. The former is sweet at first and then gives you an incredibly refreshing "zing" of fresh ginger. Notes: the bathrooms were a bit dirty, but they refilled the paper immediately when asked. The service was outstanding. It's a tight space when busy, but doesn't feel too cramped. We would definitely visit again.

Wow! This was a paradigm-shifting meal for me. As I'm sure it has for many people, Burma Super Star introduced me to an entire cuisine. Wonderful to expand my horizons, unfortunate that I now crave lahpet constantly, even when I'm too far away to get my fix.

My first time here and certainly will not be my last time. I had the chicken cordon blue for breakfast and it was fantastic. My server was Claudia and she was terrific. The next time Claudia also recommended the carne asada and eggs for breakfast and will definitely try it. The service here was outstanding and would recommend Burma Cafe anytime for breakfast, lunch or even dinner!

My preferred spot for tasty Burmese food. Staff is always super even when they have a full house. Nothing but great experiences here. Bring your hunger - portions are large. I can see why they have a lot of good reviews.

Howling' Rays offers an excellent Nashville Hot Chicken experience. It definitely lives up to the hype from social media. The chicken is crispy and juicy. Other places tend to focus on pure heat in their spice mix. Howlin' Rays spice mix, however, also has a delicious savoriness and sweetness that makes its chicken extremely satisfying. The heat level is highly customizable as well. I picked medium but probably would have enjoyed hot or maybe even x-hot more.

Nice Restaurant ! Good ingredient. Good service. Good atmosphere. Very close to High end Burma Cafe in LA. Price also fair price or cheaper than my favorite Burma Cafe at GINZA. But I am big eater because I wanted eat more.

I had been wanting to eat here for ages. Actually I'd been wanting to eat at the Berkeley location because I didn't know about the SF one. Anyway, everything here was alrighttttttttttttttt, but definitely not worthy of the hype or wait. The tea leaf salad was just okay (although that may have been due to us opting out of the shrimp), and we also ordered a bunch of other curries and meats and everything was just a-ok. Kind of on the bland side and nothing to write home about.

One of my favorite places for sausages and wish this place was closer to me so that I could go more often!! So incredibly juicy, flavorful, filling and I also love the truffle fries.

The Platha and Dip grow on you in a way that makes you stuff your face. Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup is pleasant, and if you need spice, they offer a generous portion of chopped jalapeño and red pepper flakes which works out great. My personal delight, the Hot Burmese Milk Tea, I can't stop asking for another because it actually needs me just as much.

This place was awesome! I've been meaning to go here for a while but just hadn't made it all the way over to the inner richmond. But the samusa soup and the tea leaf salad are both amazing! If you get that and maybe a noodle dish its plenty of food for two. I'll definitely be going back soon.

've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile now and finally did. We did a to-go order and the food was still fresh and pipin' hot when we got it. The guy who seemed to be the phone order guy was not too customer friendly. But fortunately the head waiter/manager was so he was able to resolve the issue that the phone order guy caused. The lasagna was delicious and homemade tasting. The kids loved the Bolognese. And I enjoyed my crab meat and shrimp spicy tomato sauce linguine. The bread was great as well. The price is reasonable for what you get especially for a place located in the heart of Beverly Hills. We used to go to Via Veneto in Santa Monica but we think we will be coming to Da Pasquale more often now.

Delicious food in good atmosphere. Had the okra with eggs - best dish I had for a long time. My friend got any sort of fish, which he liked not as much. Great value for an affordable price.

I went here because of the good reviews but this place was not good and pretty pricy. We ordered the garlic noodles, eggplant tofu, and samusas. All entrees were so greasy and not tasty. It left me feeling a little nauseous. Out of the 3, the eggplant tofu was the best but we did need to add soy sauce for some taste. I spent $65 (with tip) for this which is expensive for a not good meal.

Cute little restaurant with great service. A few beers to choose from and cold sake. Tea leaf salad was so fresh compared to other restaurants. Noodles and turmeric chicken fried rice were so good. Chicken curry was tasty too. Great place with reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Service: The hostess and our waitress were both amazing. Super friendly and makes you feel like you're being served well. She was confident about giving recommendations and always made sure to ask how we the food is. I asked for a Sangria and she suggested white. I took her suggestion and when she gave it to me she had me try it to make sure I liked it. She probably would've switched it out to the red if I didnt. We left our car at the restaurant parking lot and walked over to Pantages for a show. When we got back we ran into our waitress who was just getting off work. She asked me how the show was and made small talk with me we waited for our car. Just all around good vibes!

Great place to celebrate my daughter's bday, despite during these challenging COVID times. Outdoor dining with lovely views (Alcatraz!), the tables were appropriately socially distanced; the host was prompt, friendly and courteous. The wait staff was even better - stellar service!!! Consistent water refills, offers of a 2nd bread plate (the complimentary sourdough rolls are divine!), and a complimentary blondie sundae for the birthday girl. Food was great too, and arrived in a timely manner. Nice, diverse menu with plenty of options on both food and cocktails, beer, wine. Would definitely revisit!!

Immaculate. Iranian hospitality. Authentic. Great selection of whiskeys and other spirits with a very nice bar. The food always hits the spot. I could sit there for hours and have a great time with the shallot and cucumber yogurts, some tahdig with Gheimeh Bademjan Stew (if you don't know what this is, try it), Then from the grill, go for a barg or some chicken kabob. Or make your own "soltani" and grab two skewers. Make sure somebody orders the whitefish with dill rice and torshi, and stay for a while. Enjoy the hot tea over a great conversation in a comfortable atmosphere. Also the green salad with their house dressing is just right.

I've been avoiding this place for awhile since I'm not a huge fan of hotdogs, but dang was I missing out! I came here for the first time last week and got the classic bratwurst with fries and it was bomb! I love how the hotdogs are almost mini size which pairs perfectly with beer! And can we talk about those crispy, Belgian fries?! Sooo delicious!! And starting last week, they set up benches outdoor so it really feels like a German pub. Love how they used their outdoors creatively during this covid season! And hand sanitizers at every table!

  • 4/5 Margaret K. 3 years ago on Google
Don't let the line intimidate you.. it moves at a decent pace! I came here on a Saturday night and ended up waiting about 20 minutes. If the lines starts outside, then you will be able to order beer once you're inside and still waiting in line. There are so many exotic meats here- a rattlesnake sausage? Not for me, but definitely unique. I ended up getting the pheasant sausage and a large fry. I'd say the cost runs about $15-20/person here depending if you get a beer. The pheasant sausage was Del ious! I loved the herbs it was paired with. The fries were so crisp and I loved the dipping sauces.. especially the blue cheese walnut! The place is pretty big, and luckily we got a table for 2 outside. It is seat yourself. Outdoor has heat lamps, so it was perfect for our chilly night.
