Good atmosphere. Very pleasant staff both serving and at the entrance. Restaurant has a great back story that is introduced in the menu. Food was good but I was disappointed by the mutton biryani. The rice was flavorful and good but the mutton was mostly gristle and fat and was very disappointing. The fried lotus root was very good and the Pennywort salad was very nice. The iced coffee and avocado shake equally good. Sadly when leaving we were told two credit cards were declined but this is the only place in Bangkok that we’ve experienced any issue, which was a concern because sometimes people skim cards and report them to the owners as faulty to get more card data, while I’m not accusing the establishment of such practices, we paid cash and notified the bank immediately for safety.

My first time for Myanmar food: 1. Pan Seared Spicy Catfish, nice to eat with Peanut Rice, however the oil is a bit much. 2. Tealeaf Salad, personally hardly order salad, it’s the recommendation of the waiter, nice taste, just the nut is hard. 3. Samosa, Filled with potato, my mum likes it and ate three.

One of my favorites Burmese restaurants in Bangkok. They have many dishes on their menu! I tried the mohinga and this one was very nice, not too salty! Been here multiple times but this was the first time I went afte they renovated it. It looks pretty now! So highly recommend if you want to eat some Burmese food.

First time trying Burmese cuisine. Love the nutty, well balanced spices flavours. The Shan noodle salad and Tofu Nway (Warm Tofu) gives a wholesome taste. Nan Gyi Thoke (Rice Noodle Salad) cold salad is refreshing. Especially like the Ohnn Noe Khaut Swe (Myanmar Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup) and also the Chicken Bryani which is not oily and not overly powering with spices. Shwe beer is light and goes well with the food.

Fantastic meal. Love the Burmese foods. Will be back again when I am in BKK next time. Love the stir fried Roselle leaf with bamboo shoot, stir fried pork with pickle mustard and the Mutton Gravy was super 👍

Very cozy resto in the heart of Pratunam. Staff are friendly so as the owners whom we had a chat after lunch. My second time in this great resto and now the place is larger. Congratulations to the owners. Foods are authentic myanmar cuisine and delicious. Price is just fair. Surely we will go back again. Thank you.

When I stay in Thailand, I really miss my Myanmar traditional food because I am Myanmar. I am really glad that I found Kalyana restaurant. I am one of the Shan Noodles fan and I exactly know what's the taste was. This restaurant gave me the taste what I want. Totally satisfied!! If you like Myanmar foods, I strongly recommend to try this restaurant. Shop decoration is not bad. Staff and service is nice. I am quite okay and happy to eat my traditional food.❤️💯👍

Place is amazing and has great authentic Burmese food. Service is quick and food came quite fast and hot, although the Burmese milk tea took some time but I think this is normal as another location also took their time with the tea. The staff gave us a bonus dessert, much appreciated! Food goes down smooth and is likely suitable for all palates.

Definitely the place to go to discover Burmese cuisine!!! Reasonable prices and great quality! The staff were very attentive to details and could speak more than average English. We took 2 sets (the first two sets at 275b), a tea leaf salad and a falooda dessert (even tho the sets included a dessert too). The portions were generous and honestly that was enough to feed 4 people. In total there was about 20 items and ALL of them were delicious and presented unique flavors. I can't recommend this place enough, definitely a try again soon ❤️❤️❤️

This restaurant was in my list suggested by OTR Food and History channel. After this restaurant I fall in love in Burmese food. I asked staff for suggestion and got very nice set of small dishes to try many different ones. I also wanted to try pickled tea leave salad, which was not in the set, and they made small one for me as part of the set ☺️ food was very interesting and tasty. You should try!

I visited this place on 25/11/23 with my family . The place is superb. Nice staff. You get authentic taste. One Set meal would be sufficient for 2 person ( depends). If your are a മലയാളി and would love to experiment with different foods go for it.

My first time trying Burmese food and every dish came out delicious and impressed me so much. I recommend Nan Gyi Thoke, tea leaves salad and biryani are the must try. Service also great. Great restaurant for having dinner with friends and family.

Authenticity at its finest! Luckily came across this little gem of a place on our travels through Bangkok. They have a large variety of food on the menu and definitely something to suit everyone. I opted for the spicy rice with some fried tofu on the side. Delightful. Extremely friendly staff and a convenient location. Give them a go!

I've tried Burmese food when I was there. Tried this one here in Bangkok and can confirm that the taste is pretty consistent. I had the curry fish (a lot of bones) and the saffron rice. Maybe it's me in Thailand too long but I would have preferred a spicier version. The restaurant can accommodate about 30 to 40 people. Service is pleasant but timing for food to be served can be painfully long.

We absolutely loved this place. The staff there was so hospitable to our 4 children. The food? Even better!!! They recommended a couple signature dishes that were amazing!. This may have been the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. I would recommend this to anybody and everybody! Will not disappoint. Follow our family adventures @nakaventures.

I had an authetic burmese cuisine which I have been craving for long time. The food is hygienic and well prepared. The portions are about the right size . The price is fair.Served within 20 mins with warm foods. Feel like I am back in burma 🤩

This place is great for enjoying sumptuous Burmese food. We went by the owner's recommendation and tried the popular Mohinga and laphet ( tea leaves salad). Loved both. The service was quick and staff were super friendly. They offer complimentary Chinese tea n palm sugar to all customers. We did also try a couple of more dishes and loved them too. Been here many times already. Definitely worth a visit if you want to explore Burmese cuisine.

First time trying Burmese Food. The chicken rice here is delicious, must try. Good Service mind, and atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing. Also, hot Burmese tea (less sweet) is a good combination for the food.

Beautiful place, delicious food, good service. This place is a nice restaurant for a special dinner. A stone throw away from the ARL station. They serve all Burmese classics. Sorted by region. I had a few of the classic salads. Next time I will try the Shan noodles. The interior is very beautiful. Nice lighting, comfortable chairs, interesting art. There is no parking available. Not even for bikes.

Not very impressed they forgot the tea leaf salad but still had it on the bill. Over charged on the drinks and the chicken gravy curry was overly salty. Then to top it off a 10% service charge added on top. The waiting staff are nice and polite the Samosas were delicious. All in all ok but don't be adding a service charge if the service accuracy is poor.

Nice place for tasting Burmese food in Bangkok, Thailand. I love the atmosphere which is full of painting for sales on its wall. Food is good for foreigners who want to try Burmese food for the first time. There’s traditional harp show at the weekends.

Usually don't leave bad reviews but this one kinda deserves.(although the food was really tasty and nice, don't come if you want to eat quick and go as it will take at least an hour in there to get all you ordered) This place really need to work on their organization... They mixed up our order gave us some extra meal we didn't order (they took it away though so didn't charge us for that) , took about 20 minutes to get second rice that we ordered right at the begining and x 3 calling waiter for our missing rice? So we just had to share rice and got our second rice towards the end when we were nearly finished... Then at the end we got receipt which looked about right a bit high but about right (we got 10% off for delay, but ended up paying 20baht more anyway)... It was after we left i realized we paid for big curry 150baht instead of 80 baht... Beaware also that the prices in the menu do not reflect real value, they are without tax and service free... Food really good, workers working hard, but organization is lacking as well as transparency.

First time eating Burmese in my life and I was blown away by the quality of the food here! The dishes are very delicious and I will definitely visit this restaurant more often during my stay! Keep in mind most dishes are pretty spicy (even if you ask for less spice) so for sensitive people I'd recommend to make sure telling the waiter making the food not spicy at all! Service is very friendly and fast and the prices are more than reasonable!

Very good food and kind staff to serve the dishes. If you like mild taste, they can cook not too spicy. There is no parking place so that better to be here by MRT, Taxi or motorcycle.

Kalyana Burmese Restaurant in Bangkok is a remarkable find! Having explored numerous Burmese restaurants in the city, I can confidently say that Kalyana stands out. The food here is a delightful blend of flavors and freshness. The Tea Leaf Salad is a personal favorite, bursting with unique taste, and the Pennyworth Salad is a refreshing treat. Don’t miss their Signature Nan Gyi Touk noodle dish; it’s a flavor explosion that keeps me coming back for more. One highlight for me is the wok flavor of their Fried Okra; it’s absolutely addictive. Every dish at Kalyana is prepared with precision, and you can taste the quality and care in each bite.

This restaurant offers a huge variety of food choices. Considered pricy however The seating and atmosphere is great. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Dishes lacked strong punch for me for my liking but still ok. I think you can tell them to add more chilli, lime Or fish sauce while ordering.

This is one of the best restaurants i have been to when I was in Bangkok. The Ambience is good. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Got to try new things that I had never tried before. The staff came over to help me mix the food. The mock tails were good and the coconut pudding was yummy. I went to this place twice for dinner as it was that good. Will definitely recommend others to try this restaurant when in Bangkok.

Everything i ordered were delicious. However, the only thing that is shy of a 5 star rating is due to the fact that there were only 2 small pieces of mutton and 15 small pieces of potatoes in the mutton dish. 280 baht for the mutton dish with 2 smalls pieces of mutton 😂. Is that a norm in this restaurant?

EDIT: We think my wife got food poisoning. She had diarrhea and vomiting right after coming back. I understand the difficulty of learning a language, as I can speak 3 of them, but our experience is not about languages but basic human communication. We pointed to dishes very clearly and it took several tries to get it right. It took 4 times to ask for water that they wouldn’t bring and 5 times for rice. The service was really bad, the waiters couldn’t even clean our tables despite not being super busy. The food was cool, it was our first time in a Burmese restaurant and even though it was not spectacular as some reviews suggested, it’s worth a try. Some dishes were better than others, such as the samosas or the salad were quite good, but for example the prawn curry was super not that good. Overall the main issue is the staff, go there with a good chunk of patience since you’re gonna need it! It was a very frustrating experience to be smiled at for 1h but never getting what we asked for
