Absolutely the best on Sicily—Catania, Syracuse, or Taormina—and veteran guide for three decades. We took the walking tour in Taormina, small group and private, and got all the best sites in town. And despite being a history teacher and tour guide myself, I learned a lot of things I never knew or realized, connecting our modern western culture across several empires and ages. Of course, she also showed us the best places for gelatto, canoli, and pizza and connected us with other top tour guides across Italy! We spent a fantastic afternoon with Chiara where she led us throughout Taormina. She had a wealth of knowledge about the history, culture and current day politics of Taormina and Sicily. She was also able to “skip the line” to get us into the Greek Theatre which was an added bonus of going there with a private guide. This was a much better way to learn about Taormina than with a large group tour. I would highly recommend Chiara.
